One of the easiest teachers at ELAC. He is funny, no homework except for one essay, and his tests are really easy. Just be there everyday and you'll ace his tests.

IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A "B" IN THIS CLASS!!!!! It is so easy that everyone can get "A". if you get a B shut your-self, drop college. Just show up every day, take notes and you will be ready for tests. Even the tests are so obvious since they are multiple choice. EASY "A", EASY CLASS, COOL INSTRUCTOR, FUN CLASS, DEFINETELY TAKE THE CLASS WITH HIM.

Mr. Gutierrez is easy. The only thing you have to do is take notes cause he only writes the key terms on the board and his your responsibility to write what he is saying. Overall easy.

No problem in staying awake! He makes history hilarious and uses real life and personal examples which make it super easy to remember. Even his tests are funny! Only 1 test, midterm and final (3 total) and 1 paper. And he's a cutie! Take him!!!

He's really funny and jokes around a lot through the lectures so it makes it interesting. You don't use books but you do need to take notes. A fun class.

This guy is AWESOME!!! He is soooo funny and he teaches in a style like no other. He is a true Chicano and makes a lot of jokes in Spanish and English. I definitely recommend this professor to anybody who wants to learn and have a great time. (note: if you do not know Spanish, most likely you won't get the jokes) TAKE HIM EITHER WAY! :)

Gutierrez is the funniet teacher i hadever taken. In every section of the class time he will make a joke about himself or Mexicans. I learned a lot form him really great teacher. Even though he picked on me a lot. All u do is take notes study.. Good

Dope ass teacher. He's SO hilarious! But he's also very knowledgeable and makes the class interesting. There are only 3 exams and 1 research paper for the whole semester. I was never absent because taking good notes from his lectures is essential if you want to ace his tests. Everything on the tests is from the exact lectures, so pay attention!

This class was super interesting, enjoyed taking his class. I would recommend him for Chicanos class 19. Half of his students dropped the class cause they were lazy to study! but I didn't study a lot and I still got an A... take him :)

Hilarious! Don't miss class and take good notes. He gives study guides but its easier just to reread most of the notes. I felt he really emphasizes subjects so its pretty easy to remember things for the test. He gives extra credit through out the semester too so you can insure a good grade. Awesome professor!

It's one big story, take good notes, and make flash cards quizzing yourself on the questions he asks on his jeopardy game before tests. Read the assigned book and enjoy. I love Prof. Gutierrez! He's sooo funny, so it really makes the class easy to pay attention to. Sometimes when you ask questions, he'll answer with a funny joke & won't really make the answer clear, but other than that, I would take him again! He's also VERY lenient!!! If you need humor in order to focus, like me, HE'S YOUR GUY.

Professor Gutierrez is a really funny caring professor. He makes the class room fun to be in and laid back. There is hardly any HW or test. If you show up daily and try you will recieve an A. Its really not a hard class i 100% reccomend this professor.

Online course. Great professor. Funny. Is very accommodating to DSP&S students. Video Assignments, quizzes, essay and extra credit. You will be fine as long as you attend class, ask questions, read the book and the online power point. Good luck!

Professor was clear with his instructions and expectations. Get ready for long readings, tests, and assignments. Since its online there's zero interaction so make sure to teach yourself. Make sure you read every article/reading because it will reflect on your test and assignment scores. If you don't like to read, don't bother taking the class.

Great professor, enjoyed his method. Really good, original handouts and supporting films. Unfortunate there was not more class interaction we could have benefitted from more live discussion. Office hours were sadly ignored by students; here was a great resource and no one was taking advantage of it! Education is wasted on the young...

Gutierrez is a good professor you just need to complete your work and I'll be fine. There is just one group project, two discussion questions, four assignments, and two quizzes.

Very funny professor! There's lectures in class, but he makes them really funny and enjoyable. For homework, there's video assignments, which are pretty easy. 3 units, meaning 3 tests that are open notes and done at home, so you have access to the lectures and readings from the professor himself, plus the notes you take during class.
