German is a classic example of a monotone professor who regurgitates the textbook adding no value AT ALL in attending class. Always unprepared for each lecture (re-reading slides for example). His testing is 'somewhat' fair given it comes from the textbook. Highly recommend you avoid; I did not learn anything at all except memorize pointless models
marking is inconsistent with the midterm, however final was easy.
Overall, Hes is a pretty good prof. One thing for sure is that he is very helpful, and knowledgeable. He's always in his office, and you can knock at any time for help. He was only the prof who took time to come out for the case comp (on a sat) However, he is very textbook so copy down all the solution given in the class, and you should be fine.
Very good professor, enjoyed every single one of his lectures. He is very passionate about what he teaches and prepares the class for midterms reasonably well. I never even looked at the book, just go to the class and take notes.
The most monotone professor this semester. He basically reads off the slides, with minimal additional information. Lectures are painfully boring. Honestly, just read the online textbook yourself and you'll pass
The best econ prof at Ryerson but economics taught is boring in general, textbook is essential as he wouldn't explain some chapters clearly but he is overall very helpful and would answer any questions until you understand. One of my favourite profs.
Pupato is by far my favourite economic profs he explains everything very nicely and the midterm and final were a breeze ending the course with 100%! If you want to learn and get an A take it with him!
He is soooo boring. That being said, if you're able to teach yourself from the online textbook it is very easy. I attended (maybe) two classes and didn't find them helpful at all, however I used the lecture slides that he posted (which were great) and read the textbook. Overall a very easy grader! Midterm and final are EXACTLY like the assignments.
Pupato is a great professor! His midterm and final was very fair. He only tests you on stuff he actually teaches. His assignments are very helpful when it comes to the midterm and final exam. Overall, he is a very nice guy and I would definitely take him again.
Horribly boring lecturer; however is willing to answer any questions or clarify things numerous times. Only tests on material he covers in lecture, although you don't need to attend class. By the end of semester may 30 people showed up to a 200 person lecture.
Midterm was super easy while final was a little harder but manageable! His slides are legit all you need to pass because he only tests you on what he has taught. Would take again cause of how straight forward it was but it was pretty boring listening.
Midterm and finals were all based on the online assignments questions. He is a very slow teacher. Hard to stay awake in his class. Drops lowest assignments mark.
overall hes a great and informative prof. Attendance isn't mandatory as he posts all of his slides online. The exam and midterm are only based off topics that are covered in his slides. The assignments are great practice which is similar to the midterm/exam. To excel in this class, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND to read the book.
Lectures are super boring, worst lectures to go to as he is so monotone and reads of slides. If you want help, he does take time to answer questions which is good. Posts all slides online and midterm/final are exactly the same as the weekly assignments.
Lectures are pretty boring. He has a very monotone voice that puts everyone to sleep, especially when the class is in the movie theatre. He cares for his students and tries to help as best he can and explains things over again until you understand
Pupato is a caring individual that tries to help each student succeed. The mid-term and final exam were pretty fair since he mainly uses material that is covered during lectures and reuses/rewords questions from the weekly assignments. He may not be the most interesting lecturer but he does a great job of helping students learn the material.
This is a great prof! If you get him then you are lucky because he gives easy marks from assignments that you get 100% on no matter what, and he tells you that everything that he covers in his lectures will be on the midterm and exam. Lectures are a little boring but you can't make economics that fun anyways. Is very helpful as well.
German himself is a very good guy, his lectures are kind of boring though, you don't have to read the text book as all exams are based on his slides however it would be a good idea anyways, as it gives extra practice. Unless you have someone much better he is a relatively good choice. (P.S. very accommodating)
Amazing Prof. Rarely went to class and studied off the slides and weekly assignments and did pretty well. The weekly assignments you just have to complete and it does not matter how well you do on it. It can boost your mark in micro econ drastically, it definitely helped me and he is a super chill prof.
Excellent prof, very knowledgeable and passionate about economics. Always available to help whenever I had questions. Fair exams. Highly recommended.
not my favourite subject, but his lectures are as good as they get in econ. he posts slides online but attend the lectures if you want to do well in this course
This is not an easy course but if you do the homework question he posts and go to his classes, you can get an A. I had to use the textbook to understand a few concepts but other than that, going to his class and paying attention is more than enough! 40% midterm and a 60% exam His lectures are long though!
I LOVE HIMMM !!!!! TAKE HIM AND U WILL GET AN EASY A
Literally best prof hands down for ECN104, everyone I know has it sooo hard but literally as long as you're following along slides you will be fine plus every week you have weekly assignments that even if you put random answers for MC, you will get 100% regardless and it's worth it 20% so that's a huge boost!
As long as you read your required work, you'll do fine. Midterm and Final was nothing out of the ordinary. P.S. he 's not too bad on the eyes.
It was kind of hard for me to grade him. I rarely attend his lectures, and that is because his power points are so detailed, I don't feel the need to! I may be able to get away with this because I did ECN in high school, but if you do have trouble with this subject, attend his lectures. The few that I have attended, I noticed he is very helpful.
sometimes I forget that he is teaching a lecture. But he is a baddie so its okay.
Drop dead gorgeous. Like absolutely beautiful. But boring as hell. Not his fault, economics is boring in general. The absolute best prof u can get for Econ, all u have to do is do weekly assignments and they're just for participation so u get 100%. Midterm and tests all u have to do is review assignment questions bc they're identical. Enjoy!
He gives you a choice to buy the textbook with Launchpad for weekly assignments or not at all, but I'd recommend getting Launchpad. Weekly assignments are 20% based on completion. Midterm and final are based on Launchpad questions. ECN isn't an easy course in general as it's lecture heavy but he'll do his best to make it clear. He's a caring prof.
Great guy. Quizzes are completion and not graded!
German was a good professor, he does have a thick accent but you can definitely still understand him. He showed good slides and explained concepts well, however, 3 hours of nothing but supply and demand is really boring. However, he did make a boring subject as bearable as possible.
Explains things in their simplest form and takes a lot of time to make sure everyone understands so if you pay attention you dont have to do much work on your own outside of class
Lectures are pretty boring, but he does a good job in teaching the content.
Econ in general, for me, was a very boring subject, so it was hard to concentrate in class. The textbook is not needed, as all assessments and exams are based on the power point slides. It is advisable to go to his classes because he does go through everything in detail.
Econ in general for me wasn't on my radar but he really helped me get interested in it! He's a very passionate prof and really fun to talk to. Some are saying he has a thick accent but he's quite articulate and easy to understand so I'm not sure whats up with that. Anyway, 100 percent would take again and it's a bonus that hes a handsome guy LOL
German's lectures are not very exciting but classes in the theatre are usually boring. However German explains everything in detail so if theres a concept you don't understand you should definitely go to class. If you're not struggling you could skip class and still get a decent mark. Best thing about him are the online quizzes which are a free 20%
amazing prof, so good looking and so FAIR. his weekly assignments only count for completion, by which an easy 20% can be added to ur grade. mid term and final were exactly the online assignments. Only went to his first class of the semester, still did well.
Never took economics in highschool, went to his first lecture, the midterm and the final. If you understand the questions in his assignments your going to do well as he put some exact questions on the midterm and final. Assignments easy 20%, just finish before deadline mark doesn't matter.
Very straightforward prof with very interesting lectures. Sapling assignments are an easy 20%. overall, great prof.
best micro prof no cap
He does his job well, splits up lectures into digestible segments, and thoroughly goes over slides in detail. Wish the rest of my profs actually taught. Oh yeah, not to mention 20% of your marks are pay to win so that's a bonus.
He is one of few profs who actually go through slides in detail, and interacts with the class and asks questions and examples. His exams are fair/reasonable, and the weekly assignments (which are not graded but you get 20% of your grade just by completing them) really help you understand the chapter properly. they're also great for exam review.
THE BEST PROF FOR MICROECON! Goes through the slides in detail and explains everything so well. Cracks a few jokes here and there to keep the three hours entertaining. Such a good man tbh
He is the best professor for microeconomics. He goes over what's important in detail, and does not go over anything that's unnecessary. He does not test you on anything that he does not go over in class. Overall, he is such a nice professor, and is amazing at explaining different concepts.
Pupato is an excellent explainer and provides detailed slides from which you can study. He assigns weekly online quizzes and you'll get full marks just by completing them. Overall, he tries to make studying the material as easy and barrier-free as possible and seems genuinely interested in your learning. 10/10 wish he was my prof for all classes.
Best professor for econ! Easy 20 percent just by completing the weekly assignments that are only graded for completion. Fair marker for midterm and final exam study from the slides and assignments and make sure you understand everything and all possible scenarios and you should well.
he is great, he is great, he is great!
well i believe he was the best Ecn104 prof. Easy 20% sapling plus which is basically free marks you were paying for. And all midterm and final questions are similar to the sapling plus questions. Pupato himself was a very nice person. Lectures could get boring sometimes since its long. Everything was based of slides and if you study u get a 70 easy
Pupato is a genuinely good guy and wants his students to succeed. However, his class is very lecture heavy and can get pretty boring sometimes. You can get easy marks if you do the assignments. Midterm was easy but the final was sooooo much harder. As long as you go over his slides and assignment questions, you should be able to get a good mark!
This prof kept a 40/60 marking scheme during corona and was in no way lenient. He doesn't explain his graphs or where numbers come from and he was not at all sympathetic towards students during this awful time. he could've added an assignment or given a sample fine. The only thing he has going for him is he's attractive.
The class and material is interested, but he only tests on the material taught in tutorials. Frequently sends out emails letting you know he is too busy and will not respond to your emails for help .
Overall a good guy, his accent's not that bad, it's more the content, 3 hour econ lectures are kinda tiring especially when he goes very into detail into each graph. Got basically an easy 20% for participatory assignments.
40% midterm and 60% final. Lecture material is basically useless as he only uses tutorial questions on the midterm and final. The final exam consisted of 15 multiple choice questions which accumulated for 60% of the grade. Was very unforgiving with grades even with the coronavirus pandemic happening. Would not recommend taking a course with him.
Good speaker but an overall terrible professor and person. All multiple choice final and was keen on failing as many people he could. Didn't care about the success of his students and his exams were hard. One of the worst professors ever and he lacked morals and good character.
Professor Pupato was a great Prof I had him in 2019. The lectures are pretty long and can get boring but its Economics! Teaches in a way every student can understand goes thru the content very precisely! If you work hard def can get an A! Great Prof!!!
Don't take this course with him, he will only make you feel bad and does not care about how you feel, if he fails you, he will, no matter what. Don't take his course!!!!
He is a great microeconomics professor, and he is caring, he does explain every question detail by detail, and as long as you pay attention in the classroom, it's an easy A.
Easy exams based on slides
Midterm Exam was based off everything in lectures + slides, I dont think the Final will be any different. One of the Best profs I ever had at Ryerson so far, very fair and gives easy participation marks for attending classes.
Amazing prof, takes his time and provides lots of examples to make the course material easy and understandble. FREE 30% for just completing hw and attending class, if you can do well on the hw you can easily get a 90% in this course.. Most of my friends have 95% and higher in this class.
Solid guy. Explains concepts well and will clarify topics and answer questions during office hours (didn't like to repeat himself a lot during lectures). Easy marks from attendance and weekly assignments. Not the BEST but good enough for an A-. Recorded his lectures.
Very fair prof. Do the homework assignments add on to the PPT he gives you by writing equations/graphs he gives you. Don't understand why this prof isn't at least a 4.5, extremely straightforward guy !
His lectures are long and he overexplains sometimes. Other times, he doesn't explain clearly enough. But for the most part, the course is very logical and easy to understand. He is very clear on what will be on tests and he never includes things that aren't on the lecture slides. A very fair professor and an overall good teacher.
Quizlet class. Just do the assignments on time, the tests are very easy.
Prof Pupoto is amazing at teaching economics. He takes his time through slideshows and makes sure you understand the concept. No mylabs. 20% from weekly ungraded assignments. Take him if you can!
I loved this professor, may his pillow be cold on both sides when he sleeps. I enjoyed his class and his methods of teaching. His assignments were very fair and so were the exams. If you join his classes and do all the work you will pass with a high mark. God bless you German!!!
Explains concepts on very well with his slides. Excellent prof, highly recommended.
well informed prof, teaches very descriptively
Amazing professor! I would definitely retake him. Lectures are easy to understand, and the amount of homework is logical. I got 85% in his midterm.
First thought he was good, after getting to the final I realized he's just lazy. Only 10% attendance, 35% midterm and 55% final. No practice midterm or final. When asked for clarification just said read the slides. Practice Qs just had answers and not how to solve. Didn't finish exam until a couple days before final so no Qs could be asked about it
It was so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one.
The 3 hr lectures - very heavy, may doze off because sometimes it feels like he is just reading off the slides but other times he give really good examples and explanations. He may give too many examples - may make you even more confused. Accessible during office hours even during exam szn. Assignments guarantee a 100% - based off of completion
Great prof & teaches very well. People who give him a bad review just didn't study enough. Midterm & finals were all very fair & questions were all similar in difficulty to the problem sets. Lectures can at times be boring & he sometimes may over-explain but this is a good thing too since he really wants to make sure you understand the content.
He was great! His lectures were very thorough and he always asked if everyone understood what was happening. I skipped a couple of lecs but easily caught up because of his detailed slides. Responds to emails fast, has accessible office hours, and is really passionate about his job. Just work hard to understand the concepts and take diligent notes.
Prof was alright but the class is very boring and he doesn't make it any better. Very lecture heavy and lot's of information to memorize.
Easy marker and attendance is not mandatory. It's a boring class cause of the subject not the prof, don't think any prof can make econ seem fun and interesting. If you can get him as your prof, do it!!
He makes it make sense! he uses examples and answers questions very well, he gives out weekly assignments which are exactly like the midterm and final and by submitting them it helps boosts your grade. i had him for online so all his lectures are recorded so if you miss a lecture you can always go back to watch. By far one of the bests profs i had.
Absolutely an amazing professor! Makes the chapters really easy to understand with simple examples. He cares about his students if they any questions.
course is boring but a really nice guy and took the time to explain to me every concept i was confused on really nice guy and he would do everything to make it easier for his students. only thing is sometimes he changes up questions from his problem sets on his exam and may throw a few you havent seen but he might tell you what to expect if asked
He complicates the concepts and eventually makes the concepts difficult and also the way he speaks is very confusing.
I will give you three tips 1)Understand the lecture materials 2) Do all assignments on time 3)Make sure you understand what you are doing in the assignments and lectures. If not ask prof he is very passionate and caring he will make sure to explain any bridges in between, Final exam and midterms weren't anything foreign make sure you practice!
Great prof and very passionate about his classes. His lectures are heavy but recorded. I would get bored easily with the lectures so i would skip them but if you understand the assignments you can do good on the exam. If you actually follow through each lecture you will do even better. The final is not cumulative and assignments are free marks.
A really great professor with recorded lectures and plenty of examples. His midterm was alright, and some of the questions from the final exam were exactly similar to the problem sets he assigns so make sure you practice that.
Prof Pupato is patient, easy to reach out, willing to answer my questions in a very detailed way. He gave practice questions which really reflect on his tests. He is also a great lecturer who explained all the models so clearly and concisely, 100% recommended.
Great professor. Many opportunities to do well including a good amount of participation marks. The way he explained and broke down everything was great. Just don't leave the final exam towards last minute since the content has to be known inside out in order to excel in the finals.
definitely one of the best profs at tmu, even if you slack off at the beginning of the course by not attending lectures or studying you have a great opportunity to catch up towards the end because he posts all of his lectures and very clearly tells you his exams are similar to the weekly homework (free marks btw) he assigns.
Overall, hes a good prof and explains student questions in class. In my opinion, he lectures us like were top experts in ECN. His slides are very confusing with no questions just graphs. Midterm was ok. If you like yapping sessions this is for you. Don't do my mistake and say " imma study after midterm" not gon end up well for u mate.
Genuinely a great prof, he explains concepts thoroughly. This course is super content-heavy, ensure you understand his slides, go through the problem sets, and ask questions. Lectures can get boring and difficult. A lot of concepts can get complex and don't slack off as the final is in person.
He is nice and certainly makes the course content light. Take notes during class, review the slideshows, and do the homework. You will do just fine.
Professor Pupato is nothing extraordinary, but he is certainly solid. Kind and smart guy who teaches well and makes things simple for his students. Pay attention and do the homework and you'll pass his class with flying colours.
Easy going prof, not a tough grader. Explains concepts in a simple manner and always there to answer any questions.
Pupato is a good professor. He explains concepts well and is very knowledgable, and makes his course straightforward. There are only assignments and 2 exams in his course, and the material does a great job at preparing you. The only thing I didn't like is him stopping lecture recordings mid-semester because he got frustrated.
Hes honestly a good professor. He goes over practice and concepts that may be confusing, but its really easy to fall behind because he doesnt check homework.
He is very knowledgable and explains topics in great detail (sometimes too much, some would say). He was very thorough with the way he answered questions and it was hard to get confused if you paid attention/came to lectures. It's better to come to office hours rather than email though, since he might not reply.
good professor. boring lectures. felt like he over explained sometimes, but overall he was a great teacher.
Goated econ prof, even tho we didn't have cheat sheets for midterm, he didn't include taxes unlike the other classes. His lectures are kinda hard to stay awake in but you can def self-teach and do decent. The homework is light, even if u get the answers wrong, you still get full marks for completing it. Overall, good proof and easy tests.
Professor Pupato is a very good professor who explains concepts very clearly during his lectures, sometimes even overexplaining. The assignments are a free 100 and are worth 20% of your overall grade, only marked for completion. His midterm and final exam are very straightforward and a lot of questions are similar to the assignments. Great prof.
he is a bit boring in his lectures but i mean how interesting can you really make economics. there is weekly homework to submit and its marked. his midterm and exam was okay but you really have to understand the concepts to ace the midterm and exams
