Started out easy but got progressively more difficult. He glossed over some pretty important info towards the end. Pay real good attention after the first test and you should do OK

Nice guy, a little corny with jokes and a bit confusing at times...but not a bad class overall.

GG is a really nice guy, but sometimes he doesn't quite understand what you're asking, which leads to communications problems. TAKE NOTES!! The final is deadly!

I love GG!! But the final is a killer.. about halfway through the class, it feels like everything is so repetitive, you'll want to stop going.. but don't do that. The final sucks, but his corny jokes make up for it.

He's a funny guy. His indian accent is tough to get through at first, but as he says you learn to love it and miss it later. His class isn't that bad if you are decent at math, he does a good job laying out the steps for you and structures his tests to what he's taught.

I thought the class wasn't too bad. If you do well on the homeworks, and well on the first two exams you should be okay. However, the final is a killer. You MUST study hard for it. I didn't spend enough time studying for it and I dropped a whole letter grade but still ended up with a B-. Overall though he is a good Professor.

He's a nice guy and seemed willing to help students who asked. The first half of the semester was mostly straight forward and homework and quiz's were pretty easy. However, be careful because the final is worth 40% of the grade and is not so straight forward as the rest of the class.

Such a weird class. GG is awesome. He tells all these random jokes that just aren't funny, but you laugh b/c he's cute. Quizzes are open note, Tests are closed. Everything up until the final isnt bad. But you'll probably drop a letter grade or two after the final b/c its hard.

I loved the class, 120 students, get a seat in the front, worst in the middle, brings connections to other courses Fin, MKt, acct, do not count on getting easy grade, need to do the work, do not but text book, lecture notes are on courseweb.

disregard every comment on here. gg has such a cute personality and hes hilarious. the class is really easy and you dont need to buy the book. all of the exams, INCLUDING THE FINAL, are so straightforward and as long as you follow the material in class (which is so easy to do, he makes it idiot proof), this class should be an a.ps DONT BUY THE BOOK

Overall good class, useful material. Don't buy the book. Attendance not mandatory but do not miss too many classes as the tests will have many problems from notes/lectures. Easy going, funny, but final is harder as he warns in the class. But I got better than expected grade although I thought I did not do well in the final, probably he curves.

Excruciatingly boring class--the first chapter is on the theory of queuing--I honestly can't imagine a more boring or useless topic. As other people mentioned, final is hard; he doesn't prepare you for it throughout the course. Recitation is a complete joke; you regurgitate what the TA tells you to do in Excel, so that you learn absolutely nothing.

GG is the man. One of the nicest professors I've ever had at Pitt. Really cares about his students. He's a really good guy and really knows his stuff. Material is not too difficult. Take GG if you can

GG is the man! his jokes are so pointless its funny but they take up a lot of the time so you only have to learn a little each class and most of the time you are still let out early. I would recommend this class to anyone. GG really cares about his students and is one of the best teachers i have had so far.

had him for quant and liked him so much i took him for operations too. great guy and if u follow his in class examples (which he then grades for basically free points) you should do well enough on the tests to get a good grade

I really liked GG! He was funny and tried to keep things interesting. I liked the class the first half of the semester, but then he totally lost me in the second half. The final is not impossible, it is just on pretty hard material. This class was not bad at all. Seriously, don't by the book.

Easy. Nice guy. Class isnt really mandatory. Everything was easy. Quizzes, homework. Final was suprisingly easy also. Got an A. Wish to have him again.

GG is the sweetest, cutest man ever. as long as you go to class and write down everything he says and go to recitations, you should get an A no problem. one of the easiest cba classes you will ever take. he is also so nice and very accommodating to problems

GG is awesome. Class isn't mandatory, but I would go for the pure entertainment that GG provided. First two tests are pretty simple, homework is freebie points, and quizzes are easy and opened note. The final though is much more difficult than everything else the whole semester. I would recommend taking GG though.

GG is awesome. Super nice guy and the class is an easy A if you take notes and show up to class. Final is tougher than midterms, but midterms are so easy its a joke. TA's do homework for you and are helpful in recitations which aren't mandatory but fun to go to. Definitely recommend the class and professor.

I would highly recommend taking GG for Quant. As long as you take good notes and utilize all of the help he gives you, the tests and final will be a breeze. He is there for you the entire semester. Working hard is very important though. If you put in the time you will get a very good grade. This will be the most fun course in CBA if you take GG.

GG is a great professor. His class was confusing at times but for the most part, it is very logical so pay attention. Please attend his class. The book is not required but you will not understand anything if you never show up. He does problems after problems in class, however, pay close attention to any one of them that he does repeatedly.

Professor GG is a great great professor. He may not be native but his English is excellent. I have many friends in the class and we all liked him as a person and a professor. He has tons of office hour, which was extremely helpful. He is also very clear about everything - write down every step in class and make sure the students understand it!

Extremely good professor. He is really funny and organized. I am an international student, but he respects me just as the same. I got an 100% on the final, and I put in just about the right amount of effort. Learned way more than just numbers from the class. Overall, he made me feel like I am included on campus as an international student.

GG is very caring of his students and is pretty fun in class. Quant can be a tough and dry subject but he pokes fun at himself to keep everyone entertained. The material is a little confusing but if you watch his lecture videos, or go to class, and go to recitation it's very straightforward. Overall the best teacher to take quant with.

GG is a really nice guy that wants you to succeed. His lectures, however, were really confusing at times and paying attention was tough as his accent was tricky. A lot of people thought this class was really difficult, but if you go to GG after class and TA office hours on occasion you'll be fine.

GG was an eccentric professor who made me want to come to class. On paper ran til 3:15, never ran past 3:00 with GG, still able to teach everything without rushing. His lecture style is writing on a word document, and his writing gets illegible once trying to look back on it, so go to class. Material is tricky, but he's a classic lad. So funny.

I absolutely loved GG! He is the sweetest and most caring professor out there! He tends to jump around in his lectures, and I had no idea what was going on for the first 3 weeks. It finally clicked though, and I was fine.

I don't know why GG has so many negative reviews, he is the sweetest man ever and absolutely wants you to succeed. Recitation can be a little overwhelming but the quizzes are manageable if you put in some effort and show up. I wouldn't have wanted to take quant with anyone else.

GG is so sweet and wants all his students to succeed. His lectures can sometimes be hard to follow but overall if you show up and pay attention, you will have a good enough grasp on the material to do well. The expectations are straightforward and manageable with some effort. He's a solid choice for Quant.

Gg is hard to understand but he apologizes for his accent. Most people blow off the class and are really confused. Its not too hard, just go through the lecture packets and understand the concepts outlined in them. Every thinks the finals hard but all the concepts are given in the packets, the packets are better for studying than the practices.

GG is very friendly and funny. His midterm is not too difficult; I got a B+ after spending a few short days studying when I would have known nothing beforehand. His homework consists of multiple choice questions on Courseweb. The final exam is 45% of the grade and looks nothing like what we did in lectures. I miraculously got an A in the class.

GG is the best! The exam are just like his practice questions and the HW/quizzes are very straightfoward. the recitations are also super helpful and you learn a lot about excel. overall great professor!

I love GG. This class was a bit easy so I wish it was more of a challenge but Ill see how that affects me down the line. We only used excel in recitation (required) and it was pretty straight forward. Some in class quizzes that were also simple, I think just a way to keep us in class. I really enjoyed his lectures because he made it enjoyable.

Professor GG is hilarious and a really nice guy. He is also very approachable. This class is extremely fair and not too difficult as long as you take notes during lecture. He never uses the full 1 hr 15 min and still gets everything done. the material is also interesting! highly recommend GG

GG is such a good professor and he really does care about all his students. There are two midterms and an optional final. People say that his lectures are hard to follow, but as long as you pay attention, you will be fine. He has a thick accent, but you are still able to understand him. I would highly recommend GG for Quant!

Prof. Hegde is a true gem of Pitt's CBA. He is very reasonable, and makes a consistent effort to relate EVERYTHING we learn to real life, which helps a lot. He gives a good bit of homework, as well as weekly quizzes, so get ready to show up. You will never have a dull time in his class though, he makes lots of jokes and tells stories frequently.

Grade is based on midterm, final, hw, and a project. Homework is not bad, exams are pretty much like the homework. The material of the class is tough but some dedicated studying can for sure get you an A. GG is a very kind human being and loves making jokes during class, super accessible. Recitation attendance is NOT graded,

GG is the best prof I've had at Pitt CBA, take him if you can. He genuinely cares about his students and is very accessible outside of class. Quant can be difficult and intimidating but he makes it interesting and his lectures are very entertaining. Graded on a group project, hq, quizzes, and midterm/final.

GG is a gem. He is more of a funny grandfather than he is of a professor. You won't learn anything in lectures, but if you've taken algebra 2, and you can teach yourself based on answer keys, you will be fine. From what I've heard, there are huge curves.

GG is the best. He always makes lectures funny by adding jokes. Grade is decided heavily by the midterm and the final, but questions on them are identical to homework problems. Would definitely recommend GG, he is a top professor here at Pitt.

GG was literally the funniest, most adorable professor ever. He makes class 10x better with his happy attitude and is so sweet. He is also super understanding too. You can teach yourself the material as it is not that bad.

He loves to add stories and humor into his lectures to keep students engaged, although at times it almost felt like I wasn't learning enough! 65% of your grade is made up of the midterm and final, but if you are diligent about notes and homework, you should be okay. Really enjoyed his class this semester!

GG is the sweetest prof, and his lectures are funny but so confusing. If you attend recitation and use office hours you can teach yourself everything in the class in time for the tests. Most people don't go to lecture, and first few weeks are confusing. Do practice problems he gives you and you'll do fine on the tests.

GG is super funny and personable, and is always willing to help. His lectures can be very confusing, but the material itself isn't too difficult. Exams make up 75% of the grade, but if you study a fair amount, an A is very achievable. Do all practice problems he posts, as they are very similar to problems on the exam.

GG was awesome! Easy class, use the TAs to check assignments before you submit. Heavy weighted exams but the study guides were useful.

GG is honestly the funniest guy at Pitt. He loves to talk and I love that about him! His tests aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Just show up to class and take notes. He also explains things in simple language, which makes a tough subject way easier to understand.

i never went to class and just watched his lectures. he makes it as straightforward and easy as possible. the homework and recitation assignments are boring and tedious but they were only a small portion of grade. however the final was lowkey really hard and worth a lot so that sucked
