Excellent instructor. After every concept presented she asked,"Who has questions?"She met with me several times during office hours, and would stay after class as long as possible. Sincere. Easy exams, but you must know the material. Email her if you have questions, she will answer. One of two best instructors I ever had.(Junior Level)

Some people in my class didnt like her, but I thought she was a really good teacher. She has an accent but you get used to it really fast. I wish i could have her for class next semester.
Probably the best math teacher at UMD. She knows what she is talking about and is well organized when it comes to material being covered for exams. If you pay attention-guaranteed A
She is a good instructor with a bad attitude at times.Moves at a fast pace.Allows note cards on exams. But definitely no calculators.I don't think she really is proficient in using a graphing calculator, she basicly forbids them.So if you want to get the use out of your 130.00 calculator she is not the professor for you. She does not use them at all
Rude, disrespectful, condescending, arguementative, and attempts to embarrass students so "u'll learn from mistakes". I would not recommend, I received an A but it was only because of my own hard work.
Disrespectful and not patient whatsoever...says the answers are "obvious" and is always rude if you cant figure out the question.
Good professor, not exactly easy but she does explain things well. But if you don't do the homework it is going to be difficult. The only bad thing is she sometimes makes mistakes during lecture that she does not notice and has to be corrected by a student. Overall I would take another class with her.
By Far the best math teacher I've ever had. Math terrifies me. This is my second class with her and I will take her again for my next if I can. Those who say she is difficult, did not want to do the work. She also states attendance is mandatory, but if you participate in class and do the homework, she leaves you alone.
She's awesome. i took precalc in the summer and had to drop the class before i failed. With her i got an A on every test. she uses the top 5 quizzes out of 10 and she lets you use a notecard on all exams. she also uses webwork for homework that counts. first 100 points you get for credit and anything above that is extra credit. SHES AMAZING
Not easy...its calc and not even the regular calc but its definitely not hard. She teaches the subject very well and i understood what she said very easily. She really helps you out with the grade, just do the ctools homework and study a little bit for quizzes and tests and just use her office hours you should be able to ace it with easy.
She was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. I believe everyone should take atleast one class with her. She explains clearly and is very lenient when it comes down to unexpected missed work. I absolutely loved this class with her.
GREAT TEACHER she is very nice and class was very pleasant. She has decent exams but you come very prepared for them
Highly Recommended! She is an awesome professor! Super easy, just pay attention in class and understand the material and your fine with everything else. 3 exams and are only 10 questions!
She was a very nice and helpful professor. Sometimes has a fast pace but if you ask questions and are a dedicated student you should have no problem whatsoever, she's willing to answer any and all questions and always asks if people are understanding. Easy class and good professor
I wish I could take her class again. Amazing teacher. Very friendly and helpful. I retook this class with her, because I took Turfe the first time. Don't take Turfe! Ever! Ghada gives quizzes to keep everyone up to date and let us use notecards. I personally loved her class.
She was so rude, constantly puts you on the spot to embarrass you and most of the time she was confused herself, didn't even know what she was talking about. Do not take her
I would really recommend this class. Best Math 090 youll ever take. You have homework due every week online, quizes and a test. But super easy and she offers extra credit on every quiz and test. Plus she offers optional quizez. Easy A plus youll learn a lot.
Prof. Beydoun is great. Very easy class never any surprises on her tests/quizzes and offers a lot of e.c. so it's easy to get an A. Usually finishes up class early and gets straight to the point. Text book is NOT required, just the electronic code for MML
Really easy. She does have an accent but you get used to it pretty quickly. Anything above 95% is an A+. Tests are exactly like the homework and there's always extra credit. Must take for non-math/science/business majors. Takes attendance but it's not graded.
Loved her! She's got a Seinfeld sense of humor. No surprises. What you see is what you get! Her extra credit helped me earn a whole letter grade higher!
Teaches the class in a way that makes it fairly easy. Generous grader, lots of extra credit opportunities. Told us the Golden Ratio proves the existence of God. 1. it doesn't 2. inappropriate!. Otherwise, seems like a lovely woman and a decent teacher.
She is very clear and organized in her method of teaching. She's easy to follow and she is open to answering questions in class. You don't have to go to every class to grasp the material. Math 90 is pretty much high school review. Also, don't buy the loose leaf book buy the online version. It's cheaper and all the hw is done online anyway.
Amazing professor! Gave lots of extra credit! drops the lowest hw scores and quizzes! GREAT PROFESSOR! highly recommend
She is a great professor! Explains things very well in a step by step process and uses a lot of examples in class. I got a B in pre calc but an A+ in her business calc class and i really think she had a lot to do with it. Answers all questions and allows you to use a note card on all of the exams.
The class was easy if you had a basic understanding of the math you learned in high school. Beydoun was very helpful to other students that struggled during class. She barely gave homework; the assignments she did give were easy and they were 10 questions at the most. I would recommend anyone to taker her class.
She's very nice and she gets to the point. NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED. Attendance is like 5% of your grade and she gave us an extra credit writing assignment. There's a ton of extra credit opportunities. She has a light accent but it's bearable. She actually taught us and would always want us to ask questions. She calls on volunteers to answer so watch out
She is an awesome teacher. Explains in detail and does many example problems. Always answers questions. I think there were 4 exams and a final. She drops the lowest exam score. The final was super easy. Online homework is rarely ever more than 10 questions. I ended up with an A. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Beydoun!
very nice person her tests are easy I will take a class with her again
Super helpful, take her class. She is a great math professor for people who are slow with math-like me! She is clear and thorough when she teaches; also, answers all questions willingly. Like all math classes, you will do best if you do the homework so try not to skip too many assignments.
The best teacher for math by far. She will help you if you are willing to learn. Always go to class and you will do fine.
Sometimes lectures are confusing, but overall tests are on the easier side because you get to use a note card. If you study and write main topics down for the note cards you will be fine. A lot of extra credit points are given for WebWork so it could save your grade if you do it all.
Matrix Algebra is only a 2 credit class, and I got the impression that she cared as much about it as we did. She doesn't throw any curveballs on her tests, there's no WeBWorK, and minimum optional homework. My complaint is that she never explained the point of anything we were doing or what it all meant.
Great professor, clear and does not try to trick you on the exam(s). If you did the homeworkquizzesstudy guide you will do just fine on the exams and final. Must do online homework and online forums to do well in the class. Would highly recommend this professor especially if you struggle in math.
Her expectations are vague. although she does allow you to make up all of your homework, the exams are virtually impossible because she does not really specify where to focus and the questions are weird. They look nothing like the homework or in-class examples that she gives . When you ask for help she makes everything seem obvious. Never take her!
Math wasn't really my best subject at all. However, this class helped me alot. Professor Saad is very clear with what she's expecting. Homework is always given and is important since she bases off the tests and final exam from it! Final exam wasn't bad at all! Had one short paper also! Definitely recommend taking her!
Gives more than 5 quizzes, but only keeps your 5 best grades. Gives 4 tests but only uses your top 3 grades. Offers some take home quizzes. She does go fast in class, and will NOT accept questions from the online homework. Make sure you have the question from the book if you need help in class. If you miss class, she will NOT help you catch up.
Class is really easy. She only puts basic questions on tests and is an easy grader. There are assigned WebWork problems that can be challenging, but that is it. No quizzes, 4 tests, easy to pass.
Great teacher, well paced. Goes over material completely; everything on the test are things she will have went over during lectures. Webworks are a big help; not mandatory, but helps a lot.
great teacher, fast paced, if you show interest she will be more receptive. take lots of notes, pays to be organized.
She is the best teacher!! I recommended her to all my friends. WebWork is all extra credit and she gave 2 assignments and an optional quiz to replace three quizzes. Her exams weren't tricky at all. All you have to do is pay attention in class and do the assigned homework for each section, which aren't graded by the way, and you'll get an A.
Amazing professor, super helpful and really cares about your grade.
Not much of an explainer, just gives examples on the board for you to understand. Gives you a notecard for exams, but so few questions worth a lot. One wrong mistake is fatal. Suggest learning on your own, but do look over her example problems. Do the extra credit, it really helps boost the grade!!
Fantastic professor. Do what is expected of you and show up to class and you will do well. Also, do the WebWork, it will help you immensely and sums to an extra 10% on your final.
You can tell that she is eager to teach and she is readily available to answer any questions. Doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner but in person she tries her best to answer any questions or concerns. She genuinely cares and will help you out if you demonstrate effort!
Tons of extra credit easy to get an A.
Professor Saads teaching style is amazing aside from the fact that she rushes too much while teaching to the point where we end class early everyday. She offers a lot of extra credit which helps your grade a lot. Drops one exam and one quiz and overall very helpful and really cares about your grade as long as you show her you care she will love u
She was very hard to understand because of her accent, and she moves very quickly. That said she is very knowledgeable and very good at explaining if you listen carefully. Her grading is straightforward and there is plenty of opportunity for extra credit.
Her involvement in this class is minimal, but if you have any questions she is quick to respond. Very, very easy class to pass. Several exams, some homework, and a minimum time commitment of 5 hours a week.
I took Prof. Saad for both Calc 1 and Calc 2, although the material may be difficult, she makes it so much easier for us. Quizzes and tests are not difficult, but it covers a lot of the material. There is so much extra credit that it'd be hard to get anything below a B just barely trying. She drops lowest score for 1 quiz and 1 exam.
I had Professor Saad for Math 115 and I will be taking her for 116 this summer. She is one of the greatest professors I had have since my freshman year. If you need help do no hesitate to ask her. Her lectures are amazing, and she gives extra credit on every exam and quiz. If you can try to take it with her. BEST MATH PROF!!!

I'm pretty shocked the previous reviews have been positive. She usually blazes through lecture and talks at the board and I'm racing to just copy down the notes. We usually ended 30 mins early so there was really no need for that. I want to take calc 3 but I do not feel prepared after taking her class. I would recommend another teacher tbh.
This professor is literally AMAZING. I took this class before and failed but i finished with over 100% in her class, an A+. She literally gives around 40 points of extra credit and the exam extra credit is straight from the notes. I never did the homework unless she specifically said to. The tests are JUST like the notes. Study them and you're fine
I had Dr. Saad for Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 and got an A+ in both classes. Dr Saad makes you work for your grade, however she is very straight forward in the exam and quiz questions. She drops your lowest exam score, and she offers extra credit in every exam and quiz. She is not a tough grader, and is very fair. Best professor I have ever had.
She lectures way too fast and doesnt explain well, but her tests and quizzes are really easy, composed of very basic questions. Theres enough great learning sources on YouTube that her awful explaining doesnt really matter. As long you YouTube every topic covered, having a general understanding of it, youll ace the class.
Best math prof at UMD. Trust me when I say this, take all your math courses with her.
The best math teacher I have had and I took Calc! She made it simple
Dr. Saad is a great professor that gives a lot of extra credit to her students. Never had math explained in a more clear-cut way than the way she did. She's one of the few math teachers at UMD that doesn't make the class get into groups and teach themselves, so take her whenever you get the chance.
She offers about 30 points of extra credit but shes very rude. She doesnt bother to help you at all and shes not understanding at all. What kind of professor doesnt help? And I only toke her for the extra credit to be honest.
Professor Saad is nothing short of an absolute inspiration to her students. She always provides feedback and always gives extra credit if the student is working hard enough. Keep doing what you do!
Shes ok but lectures way too fast and doesnt explain very well. Shes always in a hurry and can be very impatient at times. Be prepared to teach yourself most of the material.
worst teaching style ever
I enjoyed Calculus 2 with Mrs Saad. She explained everything well during lecture, and gave us practice problems for every section. She allowed note sheets during exams.
She drops 1 exam and 1 quiz. You get a notecard/halfsheet of paper every exam. She is very clear on what to expect on exams. Problems on exams are not complicated (relatively simple/ not many steps). As long as you come to class to take notes, and do enough problems to know what you are doing, the class will be easy. Online work is extra credit.
She's a really nice teacher and really good at math. She explains well but sometimes you can get confused. The one thing I loved was that even though she has an accent, she still enunciates properly while speaking so you can understand everything. The exams start off hard but they get easier and she drops one exam so don't worry too much.
Professor Saad is very good at conveying the material. Calc III is a more difficult subject but your best chance at learning and passing is with her. Her lectures are easy to follow and her exams are straightforward and very fair. She cares a lot about her students and is very nice.
Professor Saad is by far THE WORST teacher at UM-D!! I dont know why she is even a professor! She goes through lecture super fast, gets frustrated when you ask questions, deducts you points for no reason on your quizzes and tests, and will yell at you if you ask her for clarification on a question you got wrong. She simply should not be teaching.
Professor Saad carried us through the online transition due to Covid-19 very well. She does care that her students succeed, but can get frustrated with repeated questions, though I can't say I blame her. If you listen during lecture, ask questions, and go to class, that will be a great start to getting a good grade. Not much group work.
Do NOT take this class with Professor Saad. During the semester she refused to listen to students even when they needed help. Her lectures were awful and I learned nothing. I got so frustrated so I got a tutor, but the damage was done. I couldn't recover in the class because she doesn't care about her students. She refuses to take accountability.
Not sure why others say she gets annoyed by questions? From my own experience Mrs. Saad has been very kind, caring and is willing to answer any questions, and break down problems to help understand them. Only webwork and discussion post each week. No quizzes. 3 exams. She drops the 5 worst webwork grades. Would take her again in a heartbeat.
I would just like to state that although this professor ensures that she stays fair, there are circumstances. I am visually impaired and have proper accommodations. She requested homework to be hand written, but given my situation I cannot hand write so even though I emailed her she still gave me a ZERO.
I really enjoyed Professor Saad's class. I am not good with math and never was, but she was good at clarifying and writing down steps to her processes, and goes along with an online textbook (100% by the way) and uses ample examples. She's also very nice and accommodating if you need it.
The worst professor I think I have had so far at UM-Dearborn. She is constantly yelling at my classmates for asking simple questions or asking her to clarify a concept. She never wore her mask in class. Not once. She makes it hard to ask questions because you just assume she will snap at you. She treats teaching us as a chore.
She is very thorough with her lectures and she was able to answer any question I had. She gives many extra credit opportunities and you would have to go out of your way to not pass. I recommend showing up to class because it is lecture heavy and you only go through the text with her in class for examples.
Most unhelpful emails. Can't understand a question. Grades work that directions weren't given for (not in the syllabus either). Spent half the semester thinking "corrections" meant correcting others in the discussion forums. Video lessons inanely short. You WILL teach yourself calculus---that's a promise. So do that, don't watch her vid! time waste
I took Professor Saad twice. Once for stats and once for calculus. She's very organized and is good at laying out the process of going through a problem. I have never had issues asking questions or getting good feedback. She's a solid math professor and a sweet lady.
This professor is one of the worst professors ive had. She would answer emails with a few words that dont even answer your concerns. This class relies a lot on the mid term and final making or breaking your grade. Everything else was just busy work.
This Prof made me wanna kill myself many times. She is a hard grader, and her lecture videos are no help. She makes many mistakes while grading and won't know unless you go directly to her and argue. She does not explain anything well and won't let you use other methods to solve a problem. Don't ever take a class with this prof.
For the online class her lectures were not helpful and I ended up teaching myself outside of class and still barely surviving. Mess up one exam and it's over. For the extra credit quiz do not click anything until you are ready for the quiz. Her emails were also not helpful. Overall not great experience, but at least she is nice in person.
She takes off points for the smallest things, but she does help. She drops the lowest quiz s score and exam score, provides extra credit, so she always tries to help u go higher. Not bad, pretty good
I mean she was alright. Met her for the final in person exam and she was nice. Her recorded lectures were basic and only book problems. WebWork did not look like her problems but exams were simple. If you study you will do fine. Definitely had to use outside resources tho to understand everything. Her grading metric was weird since it was online.
Don't take this professor. Save your gpa and grade. She is very hard and grades tests very harshly. Her lectures were confusing. She doesn't answer questions clearly and she has a very bad attitude. The webwork assignments don't help your grades at all. She gives extra credit only on tests which doesn't make sense or help your grade.
This professor sets this class up wanting people to do bad. The tests are worth a lot of your grade & webwork(5pts) will not improve your grade by much(if you get an 85 on a test you will be stuck in B range). She takes points off your work on tests for doing it a different way than she taught even if its right. barely any extra credit, 5pt at most
She's also a little strict on your grading when you show your work and the powerpoints she gives might be smudged together and messed up. You do learn a lot, and the webwork homework assignments you have will have a lot of attempts. She gives a discussion board every week, about 4 sections of homework each week, 3 exams, and then one final exam.
Announcements were constantly sent to the wrong class, when my classmates and I would ask for clarification, she would refer us back to an announcement Still, at this point, we were confused about which announcement to follow or which was even accurate. Aggressive in her emails and she hardly ever replies to them. I don't recommend this class.
It's best to avoid taking her class. She often skips important steps without providing explanations. If she doesn't approve of your problem-solving technique, she will deduct many points from your exams. She's not very helpful to her students and tends to blame them when they ask for assistance. Overall, the experience was unpleasant.
Without a doubt the worst professor I've ever had. Her class is brutal, but not because the subject matter is tough. No, that part's fine, it's all the little quirks about how she wants her assignments handed in and the absolutely brutal punishments if you're off at all for any reason. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
Summer semester II: Only two months. She takes off points if you do the work differently than what she expects. She will say you are wrong but will not tell you why. Her lecture videos are cut in some parts, so you don't know what she did. I barely passed the class, and I had to get at least a C-, which I did, to pass. Take someone else if you can.
Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't take her. She is super snaky and petty. You makes you hate the subject and confuses you. The person who rated her before me is absolutely correct. It doesn't even do justice, if i can give her a 0, I would. She doesn't even deserve to be a professor to say the least. EWWW
Horrible professor, very unprofessional. Find a better professor, a real professor.
Just don't, If you go to U of M you know these type of teachers, ahh the entire class did bad, must be not my probleem and all these students are just complacent.- this is a standard clac class should not be this difficult, Im almost approaching senior year and will be retaking this class, all my other classes A and B, 20 percent of grade everyexm
Layout is very clear in what she expects. Usually around 3 webworks due every monday and a discussion. She offered 2 EC but for 5 points only. 2 midterms and they are quite easy. She does take points off if the work isnt to her liking. Final exam is as easy as the exams. Similar concepts used but definitely study off textbook review cuz its similar
Her teaching style can be very rigid. In her class, you're expected to solve problems using only the methods she specifically teaches, even if you know a different, equally valid way to reach the solution. If you show work that's correct but deviates from her approach, you'll lose points, regardless of whether you arrive at the right answer.
Professor Saad is tolerable as a professor only because her courses were online. Her lectures are slow and confusing, leaving out much information you will need for homework and exams. My instructor for my time in her courses was effectively the Organic Chemistry Tutor Youtube channel, which you will need in order to actually understand the course.
Professor Ghada Saad has a particular style, but if you engage with it, the class can work well. The lectures are helpful, and using resources like Unstuck AI alongside the textbook can really aid study prep.
After going through calc 1 and 2 with Professor Saad I can say she is nice, but her lectures are incomprehensible. She does mental math and skips several steps, making it impossible to follow what shes saying. I equate it to a student writing down every fourth step on an exam, the answer may be correct, but shed have no idea how how they got there.
She deletes all the honest bad reviews. I had her before, she is rude and unapologetically dismissive of her students concerns. She needs to do some serious reflection about her behaviors and how she is as a teacher (if we can even call her that). If youre not religious, pick one and start praying. If ur reading saad, pick another job.
She needs to find a job better suited to her hatred of teaching. maybe mortician idk.
