I like professor saed he's funny but he's pretty hard.Try to find someone smart in that class to share knowledge with.

Dr Saed made both General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry very clear and easy to understand. Allowed certain charts and tables of info to be copied from the book and brought to the tests, which were very fair. Knows students by name, and will use in class

Makes learning chemistry fairly easy and although he picks on certain students, its done in fun. Good teacher, but somewhat difficult to get help from.

You won't fall asleep during his class, he will pick on u! Also, he's pretty fun. It can be hard, but he never changes his tests so, find someone who had him before and you're all set, even if he says he's going to change the test! (he won't)

He is a really good professor. He goes over things ten times to make sure everyone understands it. If you go to class, you'll do fine. There is nothing on the test that he doesn't talk about in class, everything is based on the lectures.

This class is fun! If you have to take a 8am class this is the one. Its not boring and it keeps you awake even if you only had 4 hours sleep he is very resonable and makes an effort to get to know student names and make sure we know what hes teaching!

Saed is a very good teacher. He actually cares about his students. There are 4 exams all multiple choice and that's all. Very easy 4.0.

Makes class fun! Wants the entire class to do well. Homework due at end of semester, so easy pts, 4 exams, all multiple choice, pretty straight forward, however you still do have to study.

Hilarious professor. Uses the same tests every semester so if you can find previous tests, just memorize them and you're guaranteed a 4.0. I had the tests memorized but I still went to class because he was interesting and funny.

The best professor at OU! Made an 8am class fun so I didn't want to skip! Genuinely cares about each student, relates as much as possible to real life- and with humor! Wants every student to pass with an 4.0 and curves the final grade! What more could you want?!

Study more for the third test b/c for some reason it is harder than the first two. Go to class because he tells you everything that is going to be on the test so there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get an A. He makes chemistry easy I wish he taught higher levels. Take him. He repeats the info a lot, and goes thru notes at an easy pace. Very easy to understand & a nice guy too. You only need to study minimally, to do just fine. And he doesn't make you memorize formulas!

The class was organic chem. He is the best teacher ive ever had. I dont do well with chemistry, but I did well in his class becuase he teaches so well. he says things 10 times until everyone gets it before moving on. He ended up giving a little extra credit towards the end which was nice. You need to go to class and take notes.

Go to class & forget the book - although u have to buy b/c he wants u to bring it to class. Mostly tests off his lecture notes so don't miss class even though it's early. You will get an A with minimal time spent on class - outside of the lectures. Saed tells u exactly what u need to know for his exams. Go to tutoring if u need extra help.

Hes a great teacher! Make sure you dont miss a class, although organic chem is not what you want to hear when you first wake up. Listen to what he has to say, and bring your book to class. Study hard and take good notes, and you'll do fine!

I do agree with everyone about Saed being a very good teacher but it's definitely not a "guaranteed A" kind of class like someone mentioned. His exams are hard and you do have to study a lot for them. You have to know how to do everything b/c sometimes he'll put in a bunch of extra challenging questions here and there that might confuse you.

I had trouble in chemistry before and with Saed he made the material very easy to learn! I had him at 8am and it didn't feel that early. He wakes you up! Very funny man! Would take him again!

Saed got me to pass 2 chem classes, which is amazing. Hes awesome. Enuf said.

I disagree with the student who said that professor Saed go against the book answers. He is very clear, helpful and experienced. The best professor at OU with no doubt. He cares about his student and this can be seen from the outstanding evaluation of him. You are the first to think of him in this way. I am sorry but i disagree with you.

Awsome professor he is very humerus but might come off offensive. The class is very easy you can get by with very minimal studying. He also gives points for the homework and never even looks at it. Excelent professor HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

Dr. Saed is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is willing to go over questions in class that people have. The tests are not hard if you study because he tells you exactally what is going to be on them on the review day. He also allows us to have charts to use for the test. I would recommend him to anyone.

The class is VERY hard in my opinion but Saed breaks it down for you to understand the complex text in the book. The book is basically for formulas and charts. If you do the end of the chapter homework problems, and I mean actually DO them... you can understand it a lot better. Saed cares but you have to try.

He is a GREAT teacher! Very knowledgeable. Very concerned. Treats you like an adult in college - not like a kid in high school. MUST study book and DO homework to get an "A". He answers questions in and after class. Takes a WHOLE CLASS to review BEFORE an exam! Exams are based on textbook and homework! He is VERY casual and relaxed in class. FUN!!!

Great! Asking questions can be unnerving because he's always in a jovial mood and likes to tease, but I've taken chem before and never had such crystal clear learning. Tests are from American Chemical Society n have to be used, so take it up with the ACS about the tests. Prof compensates with answering q's during tests. almost gives out answers.

You can tell that those who rated this professor bad were the ones he picked on. I loved Professor Saed, I was a histroy major before I took his class so I thought I would struggle, but he would come around to you during a test and "work out" the problem for the answer. He dislikes the book so study his notes. He's ****y, but has every right to be.

Professor Saed is the BEST! I am so grateful I had him at 8am, because he kept everybody alert and held their interest throughout the entire lecture. He usually used the entire class period, but at least it was entertaining. He even took the time to learn everybody's name. I am taking him for CHM 201 next semester, and looking forward to it!

He a pretty good proessor but will call you out for missing class. He did it to me the day after my grandma died in front of the whole hall. Also, he doesnt seem to care about people cheating. He will do what he can to help you pass though.

THE BEST chem prof at OU without a doubt! He hates the book so as long as you show up to class and take notes you'll have no problem getting an A in 201. Goes through info "10 billion times" to make sure everyone understands. He provides some good entertainment as well! Also encourages everyone to drink coffee in the morning.

He was a good teacher BUT THE WORST PERSON EVER!!! He humilated everyone and treated you like dirt. He would pick on me every single day and told me i had to sit in the front of his class....and then he would stare at me and make fun of me. He was sooo ****ed. Professor Saed is one of the best professors I have ever had at Oakland. He is excited to teach and extremely enthusiastic, even at 8:00 A.M. (Thanks to his coffee!) I learned so much in this class, and even though I'm not required to, I'm going to take CHM 201 just because he teaches it. I highly, highly recommend this professor to anyone.

I got the grade I wanted and didn't come to class half of the semester. He was quite an easy teacher and curves the grades at the end of the semester too. I recommend taking him for Chemistry.

Saed was very funny. But, he does call on people, and ask questions and is very very repitivie. we would learn alot more if he would stop that. I missed alot of classes, got notes from friens and the book and got a 3.8 in the class. Hes extremely easy, but can be a huge prick when asking questions. he can really make you feel dumb.

i currently have him for an 8am class and i have no problem paying attention or staying awake. i'm not at all one who likes going to class or doing work, especially early, and he actually makes me remember things by attaching silly stories to everything. he can have the whole class laughing at 8am, that's really saying something.

This professor actually teaches. He doesn't just stand there and lecture- he gets everyone involved. You will LEARN so much. He's not big on making students memorize. Brilliant professor. He simplifies the overly wordy and made-to-confuse text books into explanations that make sense, and are memorable. He is one of the best professors that I have ever had. He makes learning interesting and fun. Hes funny and wants all of his students to do well. Hes amazing! Take him if you can.

Cons: grade scale based on the person(s) with the highest #points in the class. Forget about getting a 4.0 - med/nursing students beware. Does not allow any make up tests, quizzes or homework assignments despite what his syllabus says; will not address any homework concerns (all online); no room for error; does NOT care about your grade.

He Was great. Funny and kept you interested. There is alot of home work but it really helps you out.

He is a really great professor. He talks A LOT. Don't really use the book. It's very important to go to class because he tells you everything that will be on the test and they are from your notes, not the book. Somewhat repetitive, but it's worth it.

Saed is such a great professor! I had him this past semester (Winter 2010) and i LOVED HIM! He is hilarious & makes the class fun. :) He is fair with his grading & curves @ the end of the semester! He gets to know everyones name & calls on you to see if you're paying attention, but if you're not its no big deal. :) I would def recommend him!

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Professor Saed is. He is an incredibly gifted instructor who connects with everyone of his students. I highly recommend Professor Saed to anyone who needs chemistry. You will love him!

Initially I attended his lecture class but eventually switched to the online class because it didn't fit into my schedule. It definitely tested my motivation to study and take notes on my own from the book and powerpoint slides, but he outlined exactly what we needed to know for the test. He was generous with the ACS final exam curve.

This was an online class which had its own unique challenges. Dr. Saed was extremely fair and helpful when material became difficult. He was always available to answer questions and adjust the content of the class appropriately. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

He's funny and i liked going to class. His test are basically his lectures so go to class. ACS final killed my grade though. Did not curve much in winter 2010 with final grades , doesn't curve regular tests. Go to class and take good notes. He knows his stuff.

Winter '10 Online was very difficult. His exams are written to his material & midterm was fair. The lousy ACS final was a standardized exam. He curved the final exam and helped all of us w/our final overall class grades. Thank you Dr.Saed!

Great teacher. He kept things interesting and was really funny but still taught all the material well. I would definitely recommended him 100% He teaches because he wants to, not because he has to. Never used slide shows, it was my first and probably only interesting lecture class

Quite honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. He's very outspoken, so take his remarks with a grain of salt. Forces you to listen during lectures and he curves grades beyond fairly. Most everyone in my class--as well as myself--would recommend him 100%.

I took both of his classes online, which was beyond difficult. He tries hard to help you understand the materials and makes it clear that you're welcome to come to lectures. His curve is the biggest I've ever seen and he is very fair.

A fantastic professor - teaching because he wants to help you learn (this is a side job for him). Demands your attention, explains things carefully and repetitively until you understand. Requires class participation because he wants you to learn. I highly recommend him for this class and CHM 201-Organic.

he is an AWESOME teacher. he makes sure everyone understands. he calls on random people and likes to talk to the class. he can be pretty goofy. curves the grade at the end of the semester. exams are pretty easy.

Highly recommended! He is the first professor I've had at OU that uses the chalkboard instead of mundane Power Point slides. He covers most of the material he tests you on in class. He learns all 100+ of his student's names. He also takes an interest in making sure you fully understand the material.

He does NOT remember everyone's name, but that doesn't matter. The class is pretty interesting, the tests are harder than he makes them out to be and are purposely confusing sometimes. OWL is awful, and most of what he teaches has nothing to do with what you are REQUIRED to do each week with it, get ready to spend many wasted hours learning OWL.

Saed is a really great professor. Owl is pretty pointless compared to the lectures that, if you take notes and LISTEN, are directed more towards the test. Where for owl you will have to READ the book, and go through ALL of the h.w sections required and optional.He tells what will be on the test.I enjoy his personality too, just TRY& you'll do fine

This professor is the best that OU has to offer!!! I wish he taught more classes so I could take him again! Lectures are very engaging even if you don't like chemistry. Best of all he doesn't use a boring PowerPoint during lecture.

Best professor at Oakland. Everything he teaches is exactly what is on the exam. He cracks jokes the whole class and is super funny. He involves everyone and will always answer a question and help you. Definitely take him for every chemistry class you have I took him for chem 104 and 201 and he was awesome both times!

Despite that some people think he's mean, I don't believe this at all. Mr. Saed is really fun, entertaining and he cares about his students. He picks on the kids who text during class, try to nap, and talk to their friends. In my opinion, they had it coming. He's a great chem prof, probably one of the best at Oakland University

I had Saed for both CHM 104 and 201. He is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and makes an 8am class not so bad. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test so there's never any surprises. 4 exams, can bring charts and diagrams for exams because he doesn't believe in memorizing. Curves big time at end of semester

Best professor I've ever had. He keeps you entertained and keeps your attention. Never before have I been able to stay completely awake during an 8 am class. He knows what he's talking about and breaks it down so it's easy to understand. Just go to the lectures you'll learn everything you need to know. I'd recommend his classes

Extremely helpful teacher. His classes are usually only at 8am, however, he makes it worth it. super funny and interactive with students. going to class definitely helps. would HIGHLY recommended him for anyone, especially those who dont like chem, he makes it a lot easier to sit through class!

Just a great professor. He's fun and funny, and makes it interesting to be in class, which is an absolute MUST. If you like to skip, don't even bother. The material is 100x easier if you're present for his lectures and take decent notes.

this prof is a great teacher, i didnt get the grade i wanted but i am retaking his class b/c after going to another prof for the same class i realized he really does make class more interesting and about to survive his classes are extremely early but he makes up for it great curvein the end of sem and be alarm he does question class but no pressure

He is sharp, witty, and highly sarcastic - qualities I admire in a man confident in his position, one which others should emulate. In the two courses i've had with him, he's instilled in me a sense of 'caring' about advancing one's knowledge base, as well as responsibility, hard-work, and an outlook on life that doesn't take it too seriously.

I took CHEM 104 and 201 with Saed my freshmen year, and he was honestly the BEST professor I have EVER had. I hated chemistry, and he taught it so well, and was so much fun that I considered becoming a Chem Major, he was THAT good. Take him, or you will be missing out! He has forever changed my life, and he wil change yours too!

Prof Saed is very charismatic! He's absolutely the best chemistry professor ever. He will change the way that you perceive and think. If you have the opportunity to take his class - do it! You will not regret it. CHM 201 with Prof. Saed has forever impacted my love for Biochemistry!

He is awesome. He does pick on random students and put them on the spot which is really annoying, however, you will definitely learn from him. He takes them time to go over everything you need to know for the exams. He has a cute & funny accent.

A fun and witty guy. He has a slight accent but it actually strengthens his charisma rather than inhibit it. Because he has a lot of students, it can be difficult for one on one time but everyone should be able to pass the class easily as long as they attend the lectures and listen to instructions.

Best professor I have ever had!

Professor Saed was a very good teacher. I hated chemistry and didn't understand it before going into the class and was able to get a 3.1 with minimal studying. Book is good for OWL homework and ACS final exam, lecture notes are good for his exams. He curves the final grade, which is very nice! I wouldn't take chemistry with anyone but Saed!

I took this class online, which I do NOT recommend. It is very hard to teach yourself chemistry. However, Dr Saed is a very good instructor. He is very funny and makes chemistry fun. He pretty much lets you bring whatever cheat sheets you want to the midterm and final (which were in class). The grades are curved, which helped me a TON!!

Wonderful instructor! Just finished with his class and recieved a 3.0 barely looking at the textbook.. Keeps the class very entertained with his "jokes" and his teaching method... One thing that I would tell any student that's taking this course in the future is to bring coffee.!!!! (You'll understand the first class...)

Dr. Saed is a great professor. He repeats everything and constantly checks in with the class to make sure we're following along. Will call people out, but just bring coffee and he'll love you. Allows you to bring formula sheets to each of the exams and then curves the grades at the end of the semester. Super helpful as long as you put in the effort

I had Dr. Saed for 2 semesters straight and he is by far one of the best professors the OU has. He only teaches 8 am classes but he is so entertaining that it doesn't matter. He's hilarious and very helpful. He does like to make fun of people but don't take it seriously. He does like to randomly call on people so PAY ATTENTION. Awesome Professor

This is a hard class by any teacher but I loved him! I had him for both 104 and 201 and I think he was fair and for visual creative people he is perfect! LOVE HIM! He expects a lot from you and if you put in the work you come out with what you deserve!

Saed's great. He tells you precisely what you'll need for the exams, holds your hand throughout, plenty of extra credit, generous curve...you have to completely blow this class off to get a poor grade. Best Prof ever.

GREAT TEACHER. He is very helpful and clear. His tests are pretty easy but he does talk the whole time but he is usually answering questions (or "giving" answers. Come to class, take notes, read the book, do review questions and DO OWL. If you show him that you are working he will work with you.

Great professor, if you cannot handle sarcasm don't take him...but if you can take a joke I would highly recommend Professor Saed...if you go to class and study your notes exams will be easy with the exception of the final acs which is mandatory across all sections...He will help with review for it though. Generous curve at the end of the semester

I really liked this professor. He repeats himself a lot so you rarely miss what he's talking about. I loved how he was full of energy and had a great sense of humor. I just didn't like how he would randomly pick on me.. sometimes he'd even pick on me while I was still writing something down that he previously said and I wouldn't know the answer.

Best advice for doing well in this class is make yourself known to him. Attend his classes, do the homework on OWL, and participate in class. If he sees you're trying you'll be just fine!

Saed was a great professor! Before his class, I hated chem and was dreading taking his class. His classes are at 8am, but he's really upbeat and funny, so it was easy to stay up. He's really sarcastic, so if you're easily offended, don't take this class. He pretty much gives you a heads up on what will be on the exam. VERY generous curve at the end

Really takes the time to make sure that his students understand the material and pushes his student to understand the concepts, not just memorize the material. Go to class take great notes. He needs to stop talking during the class and reserve the front of the class for answering questions during exams.

Professor was really awesome at explaining everything so that the entire class understood each concept. OWL assignments were time consuming and annoying but you could try until you got 100% except on the quizzes. He curves at the end and really wants everyone to succeed. Not really available outside of class though for extra help.

The book was totally unnecessary, OWL sucks, but as long as you take good notes in class you should do well. And this guy's sarcasm... hilarious. He is extremely helpful.

Saed is going to make sure you understand what is going on prior to taking the exam. He'll repeat things 50 times to make sure you wrote it down.No Powerpoints he just lectures so you need to pay attention at all times.If he picks on you it's only to make sure you're on the same page.He's the only Professor I would wake up for to go to an 8am class

PERFECT PROFESSOR! i LOVED his class. his lectures are so fun and funny. he makes sure you know everything well before giving the exam. he also tells you EXACTLY what is on the exam. his exams are multiple choice and as long as you study you will do GREAT. he also has a really nice and helpful curve his lectures are KEY -Michelle

If you don't like being called out in class, don't take him. Lectures are easy to follow but you must read the book and do OWL. Commonly uses phrases such as "this is a second grade question" and will either make you laugh or feel stupid. Exams are difficult but there is extra credit given half way through the semester worth 10%.

When I found out that I had an 8am chemistry class, I thought I would fall asleep. Saed literally stops that from happening. He's so funny, his accent takes a day or two to get used to, but he's actually one of the most clear, straightforward professors I've ever had. He makes chemistry interesting & is a really sweet guy if you ever need anything.

Saed was awesome! He has a great sense of humor and tells you the material that will be on the test. He repeats things You need to know numerous times to make sure you understand. The OWL homework is awful and time consuming, worst part of the class but it helps to know he despises it too.

Professor Saed is the BEST chemistry teacher at Oakland. I took CHM 201 two times and failed before I took it with him for the third time. He made everything so much easier and he really wants you to succeed in his class. He does not take attendance but you must go if you want to know what will be on the tests. AMAZING teacher!!!!

One of the best professors at this school. His lectures are straight forward yet informative. Since his class is so popular there are many students but he tries his best to make sure that each student understands the material. He is funny and lightens up the atmosphere he is very knowledgeable and inspiring. He pushes students to try their best. :)

By far, the best professor I have ever had. He is the smartest professor at Oakland University. His lectures are like memorized by him, no power points, no notes, just his amazing brain. Write things down, he'll repeat that to you "50 billion times." He's hilarious and makes an 8am worth it. He memorizes every students name, just awesome.

He offers extra credit, but the amount of OWL homework and even EC work is insane. He makes taking an 8am class extremely worth it and has a great sense of humor.

This Chem class is not as comprehensive as others but used for nursing. He makes this class and understandable. He teaches and cares. Go to class because he tells you what he wants you to know and that's what he tests on. Complete Owl it's worth the extra points. Take notes and pay attention.
