EXTREMELY RUDE TEACHER... RUSHES THROUGH EVERY THING FROM LABS TO LECTURES, ONCE WE HAD TO DO 3 LABS IN ONE DAY... DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE STUDENTS... JUST KEEPS COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW MUCH IT COSTS HIM ON GAS TO COME TO THE CAMPUS AND GO BACK HOME... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? JUST DONT TAKE HIM... THATS MY HONEST ADVICE TO YOU!!!
I do agree with the first student. He is very unhappy and rude person. Can not ask question because he afraid cannot answer the question. I think he is there to make some extra money. He should not be teaching this course and I wish Chairperson ant Central campus do not let him to teach this course.
this professor is not very friendly. He responds in a very blank way. His teaching is clear but i was still confused on how he grades. i made a C in the course and he curved the grade but personality is just blank. You choose?
he is a nice teacher. u just have to take all the notes in class and then he will give u review test and everything, which will make tests easy. If u work just for 3 hrs in the whole week, u can get a Good grade. I got an easy A. I recommend him. I m also taking him in Chem 1412.
very nice and compassionate professor.
bad teacher
He is a nice man, but is teaching method is disorganized; he asks some questions in exams that he did teach the method to answer them. I will sugest not to take him. If u want to learn chem take someone else even if you want an easy A take someone else too.
This is honestly one of the best science professors I've ever had! His lectures are very easy to understand and if you still don't understand a concept, he will teach it another way until you understand it. His tests are contain exactly the info that he said would be on them. Labs are easy and short. Very helpful and nice!
READ, READ, READ! If you read the book, come to class and do the lab work you will do well. He will help you out in any way he can as long as you are trying and putting forth effort. If you are taking more than one CHEM I would highly recommend taking him as he provides information on the other levels of CHEM as well. Great professor. I enjoyed it!
Awesome awesome awesome professor! He is the best science professor I've ever had! He has a few tests which right off of his review. Very clear notes. He is also very clear in what he teaches and explains concepts to you in as many different ways as possible until you understand them. He's also very nice and approachable. Lab is easy too. :)
I took this guy for the summer. He put the entire semester into a month. People took the class together and took the test together literally. He was allowed 16 student and half dropped. Others are allowed 28 students. Labs physical work was easy but the paperwork calculation were hard. People barely did it. Hard teach unless your paired up
Not helpful most of the class was lost and half the class failed dont take if u want to pass
STAY AWAY!!I didn't learn nothing at all! Tests are not related to lectures and very hard. He is the worst professor EVER. Can't even ask him for hel cause he will be mad at you and you won't get him. Took his class, but I still don't know anything about chemistry! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
The worst teacher ever, do not take him, he is very confusing and rude...
i don't know why some people said that this teacher is an awesome guy, but anyway... this teacher is not good at all, don't take him because you wont understand anything he is mean for real... not friendly at all also you cant ask him any question because he will get mad
do not take him. rude as hell not helpful at all. there some others good chemistry out there stay away from this teacher
I dont know why people are complaining. His class was easy, especially if you looked at the textbook for extra study. I passed with an A (:
Great Professor! It's always a joy to attend his classes because he is passionate about his teachings & his jokes are pretty hilarious. No quizzes. Tests are similar to the reviews. He is more than happy to go over anything that you are not sure about. He even helps you on tests! Grades are based on tests & easy labs. I definitely recommend!!
iff you maake a good impression the first day then you will be fine. studying is manditory. make sure you take good notes and study every night.
This professor lectures on prudent information. He gives it to you straight. He appreciates a good, hard working student and will help when he can. Nothing but "good stuff." Study notes daily and you will be good to go.
I would definitely take another class with him. He is very knowledgeable about chemistry and breaks the information down well. This is not an easy class, but if you go to class and workout the homework problems you should do well.
You will learn many things from him and his lectures. I like his traditional teaching method. But, he is sometimes not useful. He is easy to angry if you ask many questions. If you actually love chemistry, and you are eager to learn, this is your teacher. Highly recommended this teacher, if you want to learn because of your knowledge :)
Very good teacher. Cares about his students and their grades. Goes over everything very well. Like every class you have to pay attention and take notes. But if you take notes and study, its no problem making a good grade. Everything on the tests he will cover in class, and the HW is also very helpful.
wonderful professor definitely recommend taking him for CHEM 1411 not only does he help you understand every concept of chemistry but his class is very easy and out going too. you will definitely make an A as long as you attend class and take the notes he provides and do the work sheets he gives out. Great professor indeed
He is very thorough. He starts at the beginning on difficult concepts and continually reinforces. Had to retake this class and so glad I got him, because I really understood the concepts better this time around. I think he is the best chem teacher I have had yet.
Great teacher but you MUST pay attention in class, but that what's expected from any chem class. A LOT easier than other teachers!!
A great professor, very clear in teaching, so smart, and if you study for the tests, you definitely can make an easy A in this class or at least a B.
great teacher helps you understand anything you ask!if you do the labs and study for the test you will get a A he is fair and willing to talk to help you with your grade! He has a funny sense of humor. there is test and no lab test and a final! i didnt get the book but if you have it will help.
Very helpful professor. He is really laid back and has a good sense of humor. He does his best to make sure you understand the concept. He gives out tons of practice problems and goes over it in class and also gives practice exams to help prep you for the exam.
Great teacher. He was very helpful when I missed his class several times and on late assignments. He also writes his own notes which is a lot better than reading off a powerpoint like most professors teaching chemisty.
Great caring professor.
he is areally good teacher and he explains verry weevery lesson he gives extra credit and he gives chances going to lab is very mportant for him , no homeowork or textbook ! take him easy class
really great teacher, willing to work with you for anything, pretty straight forward on all assignments
This teacher likes to use the white board to teach. Easy to understand. Gives lots of extra credit. Very willing to help you out. He's amazing. Plus all this is really "good stuff"
Good teacher, gives extra credit. Great for starting college students
Good teacher, gives extra credit. Great for starting college students. Highly recommend him.
know what he is talking about really helpful gives reviews and sample test before tests HIGHLY recommended.
Awesome teacher! I recommend him to anyone taking chemistry!
Very helpful professor. Learn a lot of stuff and have fun doing it. Very highly recommended.
Awsome teacher very kind and friendly so easy and helpful i took him for chem 1411 best teacher ever
he is EASY
This professor is a bully. Exams has nothing to do with material discussed in class. Not available to help students to understand material. NOT Recommended at all.
He is great!
He is one of the best chem teachers. highly recommended
He is a grt teacher, willing to help. not an easy class but if you study his notes and work on practice problem its not hard to pass. other exams are fair but final is hard, even though he says it comes from old test. don't believe him!! there wont b any questions from there. highly recommended
Class is extremely hard and professor is not helpful at all. Does not like to be asked any questions. A lot of homework. Do not recommend at all to anyone. Class is all math.
Very difficult class, pure math. harder than the calculus II class i took
Very clear about his "good stuff". Just do all the hw (which is not required) and you'll be fine. I took it in summer with History 2 but felt no pressure at all. It's a lot of Math tho. He gave extra credits on test, which you should try to take advantage of 'cuz the final is far harder. Study and you'll definitely make an A!
This is a very difficult class. Take it if you are extremely good at math. Explains everything really fast. Pure math.
Nice professor but the pace is fast and doesn't always explain things well. You'll pass without a whole lot of effort but to get an A or B, you're gonna have to study and read a lot. I got an A in Chem 1411 without even trying, but this class is another story.
He is really cool professor, funny and helpful. Do the test reviews and chapter practice problems. Sometimes, the tests come from there. Work hard, he will know and help you to bring up your grades. Come to class and listen to his lectures. Really helpful. Get ready to work, it will pay back.
Great professor, very kind, friendly and helpful. Offers extra credits in the tests. Gives out reviews for tests, extremely helpful. really cool and laid back. Tests are not too hard. It is an easy if one is willing to study(go to the tutoring center)
He is a great professor! I recommend him if you dislike chemistry he will make you like it!
He is a good professor, and he gives extra credits.
Great professor, very helpful will repeat if you need it, still need to go to tutoring but don't drop the class. Its worth it to stick til the end.
If you are a slow learner do not take him. He is not very good at breaking down the material at all. Not matter what kind of learner you are he will go at the pace he likes to go at. Which is fast. This class made my semester super stressful.
he grades lab reports and tests pretty specifically, so you need to finish all the steps in labs and write out clearly on the tests.
Very good class, if you can dedicate. you need to study if you want to do well. He usually gives us practice problems to review before every exam. There has been people telling me that they don't get what he is talking about; however you can just go ask him and he try to explain it. Study, listen, and don't waste time.
I would take him again.
Horrible class, didnt learn anything! The way he explains is not helpful at all, he just repeats the book definitions, you basically memorize how to do a problem without understanding the concept behind it he gets mad for small things, 3 test, 1 final, and labs dont give u much of a chance to bump your grade up! Im striving for my grade right now
I dont understand when he gives problems to work on, how can he expect us to do those right if there is NO ANSWER KEY?? he expects you to come in person and get your answers checked? Unorganized class truly!
he is a good teacher, passionate about his class but he the class is hard, there are no solutions to the chapter problems, and no extra credit opportunities.
So if you take his class and don't know or remember chemistry from high school, then you will pretty much won't even get a B in his class. The way he teaches is very confusing. There will be no extra credit at all. He is very laid back and that can become problems. So if you're confident in chemistry, take him. The tests are not tricky or anything.
The course it self is hard, he is nice teacher who know's his material very well. I made an A in this class even though i admit it was a little tough to make an A but overall i recommend taking him! he is helpful and understanding BIG TIME!
He sucks. I mean there are some questions that he might just confuse you around and skip it. If you don't care about Chem at all, take him, because he is indeed easy. you won't need a textbook, that's for sure. But if you want to pursue something chemistry related, he might not be the guy for you, since he won't really answer all your question.
He is really bad at teaching. He will definitely confuse you. He doesn't know his materials and keeps telling you to do things on your own when he can't explain a problem for you. Do not take him if you really want to learn.
I took his class for summer II at Felix Moralex and I hate it. First of all he goes to fast, usually writes on the board and you have to catch up what he is writing and explain at same time. Test you take in lab, and are hard. Last but not least he was rude when i went talk to him, everybody in class saw the way he talked to me. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Gives reviews for his test.
I don't like chemistry, but he was okay at teaching it.
he was koay
nice professor
His class isn't easy if you don't put in the effort, one thing I liked about his class is that he is willing to help you understand as long as you show effort. I recommend for anyone who takes his class to take notes, study, and work on the sample test before class to better understand the material. He's pretty funny so lecture is not boring.
He cares about you passing
He gives very informing lectures, does not surprise you with quizzes. Just stay on top of labs and study hard, the tests aren't hard it just includes random things from your chapters.
Hey often messed up or got wrong the practice problems to teach you. Was unorganized but provided all the materials, tools, and knowledge needed to pass.
Don't skip labs cause he won't give you credit for the lab if you're absent. As long as you study for the test then you should be fine.
He's overall a great professor. If you care to pass this class, he will assist you in every way possible. But you have to work for it yourself. such as reading over lecture notes after class or reading over the textbook. He tends to confuse himself and forget things at times so beware an pay attention in class.
Do you not skip class, you will get lost. Still have to teach yourself a lot though.
Great professor, can get off track and confusing sometimes
Make sure you study the material
Professor asks students for questions and likes feedback, study Sample tests which are similar to exams. Kinda funny sometimes.
Great Professor. His lectures were helpful and he writes everything with you on the board so it really helped because everything was written. Took him in the summer and did not regret it. He helped me achieve the grade that i wanted. He was a really nice professor and was available to help you whenever you needed him.
Outstanding professor. Definitely makes a few mistakes once in a while but understands the material on a higher level and helps one apply the chemistry concepts to the real world by providing examples of every idea/rule he explains. Helpful, if one is willing to seek the guidance. Lastly, the professor has uncanny ability at delivering the material
I took this professor over the summer and i absolutely loved his teaching! I would definitely recommend him! he's really caring and wants his students to pass if they try!
He's okay. He constantly made mistakes on the problems and students had to correct him. Be sure to get on his good side because that always helps during the labs. 4 exams + the final, just study all of the exams and you'll pass the final.
Such a sweet guy and very helpful! Whenever a student would be confused about a topic, he would GLADLY re-explain everything with no complaints. Patience is something hard to find with teachers these days, but he sure has that quality. All we had were labs, 4 tests, and a final composed from previous tests.
He will try to make sure you pass as long as you try. His teaching method is not easy for everyone so you will have to work to understand the material. Make sure to check his grading because he seems to not grade the same for everyone. The sample test are intentionally easier than actual test (he said so himself) so study notes.
Does not explain clearly. Monotone hates being asked questions, rude at times.
If you are really but expert in Chemistry take him but if you doubt forget the idea to take him. he confuses himself when he goes over the class. got mad whenever you ask many questions about practice problems. Being honest its only lab and test the grades and the chances to pass if you are a second language is less because he is hard to understand
Very good teacher. The subject is just very difficult.
Hes good professor, but you will need to put so much effort to pass the class
You have 4 tests and 1 final (He pulls questions from previous tests for the final). I am an A student and this class was the hardest class I've ever taken. It required more studying than my anatomy & physiology class. This is because his reviews did not reflect the tests at all. If I could turn back around I wouldn't have taken him.
Prof. Mozaffari is a caring professor. He explains the material very clearly and he would spend class time answering all the questions you have over the HW and doing examples. Learn from your notes and do the practice problems he posts online. He gives out a lot of partial credits. 4 tests, the final consists questions from the previous tests.
He is a good professor and you gonna have to study hard to get a good grade
He has no real world experience, Lectures are verbatim with passages and equations from the book with no deviation, therefore lectures are useless. If his explanations are rated from 0 to 5, I'd give a measly 2. I lost interest in his ability when he told to to fudge numbers during a experiment to get a closer rounding number to the book answer.
I took him for Chem 1405. He is a nice and funny guy. Answered all the questions that you asked. He gives the sample tests before taking the exams and pull most of the questions from the sample test. Total 4 exams and a final. If you really want to get an A grade, study all the notes from the lectures and chapters from the book.
If you go to all the classes and try he will help you. The final is all of the exams.
Ended up dropping this class because I just couldnt keep teaching myself the material to pass this class. Professor Mozaffari knows what hes talking about but just isnt good at teaching it in a way that students can understand. He also isnt the most patient professor and gets frustrated when you dont understand a concept which sucks.
This review is for chem1311, I would not take him again, we started the class with about 26 people, by the time the 3rd test came around, only 7 people were left in the class. That's how difficult this class was, he wasn't helpful at all, couldn't ask him questions because he would get upset. He basically did not care whether we passed or not.
He is a really good professor, respectful and he will going back and explain if you don't understand at some points. If you don't skip lectures and do all the practice problems, you should be fine
This professor is amazing, I would take him again. His lectures are great and he gives you opportunities to gain more practice by practice problems and practice tests. If you have questions he will answer them for you.
Do not skip class, you will miss out on important information.
Nothing against the professor but the way he teachers is not ideal. He aint worried about whether you understand or not, hes gonna teach what he HAS to teach and thats it. Honestly worst class Ive taken.
Hes a good person, but a difficult teacher
Tests are not similar to the review, you HAVE to read out the textbook if you want to get a good grade in the class.
Have to read the Textbook to get a good grade
Read the Textbook or you will not get an A.
Need to pay attention and study a few times a week.
Lecture attendance not mandatory, but recommended. Lose points on labs if you aren't there for them, but almost all quick and easy to do. Goes over tons of examples and knows easier problem solving than in the book. Genuinely wants you to pass the class and willing to work around any problems. Only HW is pre-labs, which are short and easy.
Lecture attendance not mandatory, but recommended if you would like to pass. Class is not hard if you pay attention. Reads from the book majority of the time. Lab mandatory attendance, only receive half the points for a lab if you do not show. Labs are always quick and easy. Only homework you'll ever have is Pre/post labs. Need a textbook for a A
Overall, hes a good teacher if you participate in the course, & show that youre trying. Hes very understanding in certain situations.
He is a very good teacher but he can be kind of confusing but it generally depends on the type of teacher you prefer. And then I really loved being in his class. He is very caring when it comes to your grade
Not good
Did not go by the syllabus at all. This professor even marked some answers wrong on each assignment and when brought up 2 him he acknowledges that he made mistakes but literally says that he could've marked it worse and will not fix his wrongs. Not tech-savy so the entire class will not get his email but he will still say he sent it. Teach yourself
This professor doesn't set his students up to succeed. He assigns no homework, which sounds great at first, but suddenly becomes terrible when you realize that your entire grade is riding on your test grades essentially. He doesn't assign textbook readings, but you HAVE to read them on your own if you want to do well in class. Teach yourself...
Class+Lab attendance was not a grade most of the time I would be the only one to show up on the cisco meetings eventually he stopped showing up. Tests were okay lowest grade I got was a B. DO NOT buy the textbook or lab manual find a pdf. Tough grader on the labs takes points off from any little thing. His grading scale was always incorrect .
HORRIBLE ONLINE PROFESSOR. took him for online chemistry/lab and he was absolutely unreasonable. gets upset easily when you call him out on a mistake that HE made. he isnt very tech savvy and will give you low grades just because he doesnt know where to look for your assignments and will then accuse you of not turning it in at all.
The instructor was outstanding because he structured the course in a way that enables students not to fall behind if they work hard. Be ready to work hard in a fast paced course to earn your grade. I read some of the flimsy & lazy comments of some students and I think it is unfair to the professor. I received prompt replies for every mail. Take Him
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! Never able to have a class online because he is so bad with technology. He is very heavy on an accent so it is very hard to understand him. Always coughing as if he has something stuck in his throat which makes it even harder to understand him. His phone will 100% ring when you are in class.
Overall he is an okay professor. He is very nice and sometimes funny. However, he is a tough grader. He will take away your points for a single mistake you made in your lab. Also, he is not tech-savvy so I recommend turning in your work on paper. Fact: I even don't know my final exam grade because he just publish the final grade on the system.
I didn't choose this professor initially. My original professor had urgent halfway semester & this substitute took over the course. He changed everything, lectures, exams, labs, and chapters tougher. I found it hard to understand his teaching style amid the heavy workload. After 1st exam, I realized I had to withdraw before it was too late.
No empathy for students expecting the student to know. Impatient, rushes his lectures Grudgingly & aggressively answers questions & so student learn be quiet during his class Students read to pass his test & not to learn. Doesnt go over his test question after marking He has said that chemistry is not meant to be easy and not meant for everyone
Alot of students hated this professor, honestly those who struggled just simply did not attend his class or were always really late. If you respect him and his class he gives the same respect back. Great on communication, and the lectures were so helpful. I learned alot, just study notes from lecture and review.
He understands chemistry, but has much to learn about computers. He would often navigate Yahoo for minutes, projecting his screen, trying to send an file to our class. You will have to print some assignments. He will make mistakes, but when he used a formula wrong (maybe once a chapter,) we would catch his mistake, which would help us stay engaged!
The lectures were a little confusing, but he gave us practice problem sets when each chapter began as well as practice exams a couple days before every test. We also got formula sheets on every test. He puts bonus questions worth 10 points on each test. If you just do the problem sets and the practice exams, with help from google you'll be fine.
Professor Mozaffari is not a bad teacher. His lectures are quite interesting and informative. However, the exams he makes are nothing like the study guides he gives to students to practice.
The lectures were a bit uneven, but the practice problems and exams helped a lot. Attendance is a must. Unstuckstudy was super useful for studying alongside the textbook. Overall, a decent class if you put in the work.
He's great at teaching, I had him for lab. Grades are based on reports and the final exam. He gives you a report to fill out with all procedure instructions, so there is no need to write a whole report. Ask him questions, he will help you. The final was similar to the review. Just remember to do the prelab and be prepared to do the lab.
He is a nice guy but he's not very good with technology and doesn't give final exam reviews. I would recommend another professor but if it was him and a professor with a lower rating than him I would recommend choosing him
