Great professor! explains clearly. nice, funny and very helpful =)
Great professor. Very helpful and clearly understandable. And little bit hard course
do the homework and attend the lectures. excellent instructor.
Awesome teacher. Took him for both 255A and B. However, B was a bit tougher than A. Just do the homework attend class
Very thorough... Really does care about his students!! =D Awesome dude!
this man is the greatest..i flunked math in high school...but came to college and became a bio major...bio major have to take calculus. so i was sad. but this man made it so easy i got a A in both of his classes. thanks DR. Zakeri
Great professor. He has good interaction with the students and is willing to go over the material until students understand it. His grading is fair and he is very energetic.
Dr. Zakeri is the BEST! He's VERY helpful, VERY knowledgeable, and VERY humorous! He's a GREAT professor! TAKE HIM!!!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. NOT APPROACHABLE. TOO BUSY WITH OTHER THINGS. HE IS TOO CONTROLLING AND HARD TO DEAL WITH. USUALLY HAS A NEGATIVE APPROACH TO NEW IDEAS. AND YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY -- HE IS NOT A HOTTIE.
he is funny and whitty, he is the James Bond of math professors
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER!!!
I didn't take him for Calc I, and I have a feeling if I had, I would have done better in Calc II. He is funny, and tries to make the subject matter as easy as he can. He has very limited time to offer outside of class, even during his office hours.
One of the best if not the best math teacher ever. I came into his math class with the "I hate math attitude" and I left with an "Math is easy" attitude. I Highly recomend him. Just do the homework and practice.
he's so cool to take a math class w/ esp when u have to take it daily. highly recommend.
The man is brilliant.I took him over the summer everyday and he was the best math teacher I ever had.I am not very good at math but did fairly well here. He explains the problems very well, so you understand .He will change your attitude about math.
This professor is not good at all. He is very unclear and goes over the material way too fast. I don't recommend him at all if you are one of those students that has trouble with math because he won't make it any easier. Tests are difficult and unclear, also assigns a lot of homework. DON'T TAKE HIM
Let me just say, this man is awesome. I took math in the fall and got a D, took it this past summer with him and got an A.
could have been easier, but halfway through semester I stopped paying attention in class, cause I thought I could just copy the homework from the back of the book. He uses up every minute of class time and sometimes goes over a couple.

If you actually came to northridge to learn then take him. yes some things are hard, but he will help you solve them, if you just pay attention. Do the work, and you will get an A, simple.
Very demanding but fair. Do the homework and enjoy learning from him. A very nice person.
it was easy if you listened, took notes and did your homework. he grades very generously on the tests.

He is simply a GINIUS. You can be math retarded and still he will make you understand. Thas is if you are willing to do the large amount of HW he assigns and are commited to learning math. I hated math before his class. He made me understand it and be interested in it. Bravo!
It was tough for me. I did not understand a word he said. I felt he needed more than just the last ten minutes of class to teach a new section. If he took more time teaching, there would be no wasted time explaining the previous section to the class because we would have not made many mistakes on th
I dont know what you guys are talking about he is the man. Very easy on test corrections. Just ask questions if you have them. He will slow down to help you. One of the better math teachers at CSUN. Has very dry humor
He is very clear in his teaching style. He spends so much time going over the material and show lots of examples. He will not teach a new section, until every student understands the last section. The best teacher in the math department.
I spend hours studying for his class, there is only 3 test and one 200 pts. final. It is about 12 to 15 pts. each question. If ur not good at math then dont take him. He gives about 10 questions worth 100 pts. if u get one wrong he is generous on each one u get wrong, gives partial credit.
DONT NOT TAKE THIS GUY IF U ARE SANE...CANT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING HE SAYS. EXAMS ARE HARD AND VER VERY LONG. GIVES H/W THAT TAKES HOURS IF NOT DAYS TO DO. THE FINAL IS EVEN HELL TO BEGIN WITH ITS 2 HOURS LONG AND U STAY THE FULL 2 HOURS.
To those of u who are complaining about him being hard to understand, you must be joking. He is one of the best Math professors this school has and he slows down to teach you something that you did not get.I would say he is very organized, lectures clearly and concisely.I was not a big fan of Math but I really enjoyed his class and I did pass it.
Zakeri is one of the smartest and kindest professors on campus. Yeah, his tests are very long, but he assigns a lot of homework (and collects them!) so that you could master stats problems and do well on those tests. Take Zakeri!! He's nice, and he actually does teaches. I loved his class, and I'm sure you will too.
Throughout my CSUN experience I have never had such a great professor that cared so much about his students. If you truly want to understand statistics i think you should take this course otherwise stay away. In order to achieve an A you have to be willing to put 110% effort into this course. This guy will make you change your major to mathematics.
I must admit, he is a nice person. But niceness doesn't make the subject any better. Unless you want to spend hours (and I mean HOURS!) on homework that he collects, go ahead. If you are lazy, don't take him, please trust me on this. He doesn't curve anything. I'm not complaining, I'm just telling the truth. Don't let the Happy Faces fool you!!!
The coolest professor at CSUN. Likes to make the class laugh. If you get him to like you, you are IN. If you participate, do the really long and tedious homework, and show up everyday, he will give you the benefit of the doubt. Laugh at ALL his jokes, even the ones that are not funny. He may not be the easiest prof. he is still cool.
An all great professor. Makes learning fun.
By far one of the most awesome teachers at csun- take him you wont regret it. He collects HW and most of those problems are on the exam. Spend time doing the HW. He is very helpful and just wants you to do well. Work hard and get the A you deserve or you can take someone else and work hard and get a C. your choice
He's a nice guy who has a dry sense of humor but unless you don't work, don't have a social life, and don't have any other classes to worry about, don't take him. The amount of homework in this class is ridiculous and it takes hours, if not days to finish. If you have that sort of time, be my guest. If not, walk away. Don't say I didn't warn you.
By far the best prof at csun! you will not regret taking him. just do the HW- he collects it and most of the problems will be on the test. If you ask him, he will do the problems for you in class. He is an awesome teacher and he just wants his students to do well. The ones that complain about him expect to get an A without any effort. Trust me, tak
By far the best teached I have ever had. He is very helpful and makes statistics something that is actually understandable. He's not big on the advance and intricate calculators which is nice because he keeps the problems and the numbers nice and simple. If you have to take statistics, take Zakeri. You won't regret it, and you'll pass!
very helpful
Awesome. very helpful. he helped me understand calculus 2! He is also very nice and happy.
DON’T NOT TAKE THIS GUY I COULDN’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING HE SAYS. THE EXAMS ARE LONG AND THE TIME IS NOT ENOUGH. GIVES H/W THAT TAKES HOURS IF NOT DAYS TO DO. THE FINAL IS EVEN HELL TO BEGIN WITH ITS 2 HOURS LONG AND U STAY THE FULL 2 HOURS. HE IS LIKE A KID. HE’S LACKING THE COMMONSENSE.
He is a good teacher, he can make the statistic more easy let you know, also you can have fun in this class. Really, this class is very easy, if you write all the homework, you can easy pass the exam, if you have any question, you can ask him, he will tell you very clear and you can easy understand it!!
Wouldn't recommend this teacher, unless all you need is an upfront, easy approach to mathematics. Otherwise, you'll go insane.
I absolutley hate math. But he explained the material clearly. There is a lot of homework. But it pays off to do the homework. If you have any questions at all, he will help you answer them. Go to class, take notes, do the homework and study and youll get a good grade! I DEFINTLEY recommend him! :)
Statistics class, Zakeri will force you to earn your grade. Be prepared for regular homework assignments collected for a grade, fairly difficult tests, but he does give opportunities for extra credit. He wants to see everyone pass and he'll help you out as much as possible, but make no mistake, it is a difficult class just because of the subject.
Dr. Zackeri is by far the best prof. i've had at CSUN in my two years. The material is not hard but it requires patience. There is alot of homework but if you take the time to do it, you'll do fine on your test. The first hour of class is dedicated to homework and the rest of the time for new material. i suck at math and i got an A.
Reasons not to take this guy's class: 1) uses the textbook, but he uses different forms of equations/graphs and won't mention that, so believe me it's confusing 2) the HOURS of homework; 3) he is NOT a nice guy, he is an arrogant so-and-so who seems to have forgotten what it's like to learn; 4)the worst teacher I've ever had. Big mistake.
the material is pretty difficult, i hate math. but the professor explains it really well. make sure you go to class otherwise you won't have a clue whats going on.
Dr. Zakeri is a great teacher. He actually cares about his students and he wants everyone to pass. The material can be boring (I hate math) but he tries his best to make it fun by making corny jokes here and there. His accent isn't bad and he is a very friendly guy. Warning: you MUST do the homework (at least some of it) to do well on the tests.
Professor Zakeri is an excellent instructor. While at first I was a little disappointed at the slow pace of the class, it was only at the end of the semester when I realized just how much material we had actually learned. He goes very slow but you still learn an incredible amount of Math.
Statistics is a very hard subject but Mr. Z does a great job at teaching it. You will get tons of homework at every class meeting but it will help on the test. He's kinda funny which makes the hour and forty minutes go by but make sure you come to class ready to listen. TAKE HIM and you will learn something
Dr. Zakeri is the best math professor! He makes statistics fun and urges everyone to do well because he cares. He will repeat his lecture as many times until the class understands. Very fair and hilarious man! Great class! Take him and you will definitely understand math if you're having trouble with stats!
He is a good professor who really knows what hes talking about. There a three tests and one final. He gives you hw everyday. Its Stats... not an easy A, you really have to do your hw to pass. Study for the tests.
Professor Zakeri is great!! As hard as the class is, he explains it so it is easy to understand. He will go over it as many times as you need, hes very helpful and very funny! I definatly reccomend him!!
This class was very difficult and he refused to go over problems because he claimed they were all the same. Used different formulas than the book so you couldn't teach yourself. Moved very quickly through material. Sweet guy, but I wouldn't recommend if you've never taken statistics before.
Bad professor stay away! I took his class after reading good comments about him. he does explain well, but his tests are nothing like his lecture/homework. He makes up problems so confusing you wont know which formula to use. thinks he is funny totally not! And has a heavy accent. overall I would not recommend.
Paces the lectures slowly which I think helps you to take in the material and understand it. Relies heavily on the textbook, but this means no surprises on the exams! Overall a great instructor.
The best professor Ive had in years. I do not understand why the negative comments about him. Obviously maybe the comment are bad because the individuals earned a bad grade. My experience was great. He takes his time explaining the material and is eager to help his students. Highly recomend him.
Great professor. He's a funny guy and somehow makes going to Stats class enjoyable. You need to go to class though. The way he teaches the info is much easier to understand that learning from the textbook. The quizzes and the tests are all from his notes so you only need the book for homework.
I really enjoyed this class! You must attend his class to do well and do all of your homework prior to the tests to learn the material. The tests are a bit long and difficult but he's a generous grader and offers extra credit. Very kind, helpful and hilarious! I highly recommend him he makes math fun and less frightening.
he is veryy funnyy, and makes you wanna go to class, explains everything step by stepp, he assigns lots of hw...which comes in handy when test day comes around.. takee him he's greaatt!!!!
His class is a joke he can't teach and he is threatened when someone is smarter then him so try to avoid asking questions at all time and that is only if you can understand what he says.
Don't pay any attention to the poor ratings people have given him. He is a very very helpful teacher, he will go so slow that even you wish he would speed it up but then again you have to think about the others. He wishes/encourages his students to pass and not a lot of proff. care if you pass or fail. Stats is hard, don't take it lightly!
Lets me honest Math 140 is hard! Wanna know how to pass this class STUDY! If you ask him he will review the class be exams! Very Helpful Take him you wont regret!
Ok this class is hard i'm not going to even try to sugar coat it...but if you study for every exam and turn in all your homework you will pass this class. The formulas can be kinda tricky but once you get them down they are very very helpful! make sure u get the calculator for his class, trust me the caluculator will become your best friend....
Took over the summer so we wet through two sections a day it wasn't hard it's just a lot if homework to keep up with didn't go through all the chapters which is good makes the test like the homework, which is good if you do ur homework I would recommend taking him over the summer.
This professor is not one I would recommend if you are not a fast math learner. I love math classes, but his jokes were dumb, he seriously did not made me laugh. attendance is not mandatory but if you're not there he'll notice and point you out in front of the entire class. take notes and organize everything, otherwise you're screwed!!! GOOD LUCK!!
Professor Zakeri is a must take compared to the other stat instructors. I don't know why some of these people are complaining. As long as you do do the homework you will do great on the exams. He simplifies all the problems. Highly recommend!
3, 100pts exams & a cumulative 200pts final. HW is assigned, collected & graded. You pick your seat on 1st day of class & that would be ur assigned seat for the semester. Material is difficult but he does a good job explaining & showing step by step visually. You must show all work in the exam. Not A Multiple choice Exam. Exams are Hard.
SUPER HARD CLASS! Prof Zakeri is really nice/funny/outgoing but statistics is a HARD subject. If you take his class, be prepared to dedicate every bit of your attention to his lectures or you will NOT learn or pass the class. He speeds through the material. Plus he has photographic memory so he'll notice if you don't go to class!
There are 3 midterms and one final. He is a nice guy and funny. He makes the class okay. He teaches material really well and will help you with whatever you need. The only issue was his exams. He would never give us enough time to finish the exam not even the final.
i highly recommend him. the class is a lot of work but i suggest if math is not your stong point to take him over the summer. it allows you to focus mainly on stats and although i went mon- fri for 3 hours, i felt the material was much easier to retain. only a few tests but a lot of homework (which counts for a lot of points so do it!)
overall its an easy class , but DO NOT ASK HIM QUESTIONS DURING A EXAM it appears hes willing to help but he gets too frustrated and kicks you out from his desk!! , I highly recommend this instructor because he uses the textbook a lot and most of his exam questions are based from the hw. DO THE HOMEWORK and you'll do just fine.
Took class over summer session, 3 tests, 1 final, and hw collected over the course for 30 pts. Doesn't really answer your questions exactly, instead he cuts you off and insists that he knows what you're asking already and for you to watch how he solves each problem. At most, our longest test had about 12 questions and the final only had 8.
First exam, more than half the class failed. BE PREPARED TO STUDY.
positive, motivational and incredibly amazing teacher...math requires time and effort, but fell in love with his class and did not mind doing the work assigned. also, very fair grader..wish there were more teachers like him at CSUN!
an easy A, go to class everyday and listen ull get an A for sure
3 exams, each worth 100 pts, a final worth 200 pts, and homework worth 30 pts.If everyone does bad on the test, he'll give you 3pts extra credit if you redo it. The material is taught well, but he's tests are ridiculous.
Makes class fun and keeps it intertaining. 4 tests, 2 worth 75pts 2 worth 100pts and a Final. Says homework is optional but gives you 30pts for it. Does not take attendance but HE WILL NOTICE IF YOU ARE ABSENT! He memorizes your names and is very friendly. Replies to emails and is open to questions. Stats is a diff class if you make it. Go to class
Really Good professor. He Explains everything well. If you happened to miss something he will answer all your questions clearly. Attendance is not mandatory, but his class is not boring at all. He makes the subject interesting. If statistics is a hard subject for you take him.
Zakeri is an awesome professor , explains with clarity. Im bad at math but I passed his class with an A. I did go to tutoring though
Bad accent, hard to understand. had to goto tutoring, got a D+.. failed or got a D on the tests.... did all the hw. you can pass the class if you get ds on the tests... but i had to goto tutoring. hard hard hard.
go to class, dont slack off, do the hw, pay attention to his teacher and its a definite B. cheesy jokes but a really nice teacher. hes a good teacher.
He is a very good teacher, probably one the of the best in the math department. Just do the hw and you should do fine.
Prof. Zakeri is so nice and funny. Stats is a bit challenging but he makes it easier, just pay attention and do all the homework. I recommend his class.
he is such a very very very bad professor, he has not any information in this course, very bad accent and he is terrible in grading and he can not solve problem clearlly and i am wondering how he get his PHD!!!
An excellent professor, go to his class and do the homework, pay attention in class and you will get an A.
Explains all concepts and course material very clearly. Gives two tests, a project and final. Do the homework, pay attention in class, you will get an A. This course is not a joke. He is very knowledgeable and teaches the entire course without using any notes. I don't know what other rater is talking about. He is one of best professors.
Prof can be difficult to understand at times. Book is mandatory and he assigns homework every class session. You will also be needing a calculator (preferably the TI-83). If you are hard working and can tolerate the professor's bad jokes then you will do fine here. Seriously, his jokes are terrible at best.
The most inactive professor I ever met in csun. He is not interested to cooperate, and not approachable in any condition. Not recommended.
Very difficult class. The professor's accent was not clear. He couldn't explain the hard topics, thus I screwed up during exam. He did not cooperate outside the classroom, and so avoid him at any situation.
The most inactive professor i ever met. He has a very bad accent which makes everything harder to understand; and of course, he is not generous in grading. Most importantly, he can not solve most of the math problems clearly. I don't know how he got his Phd!
His class is very simple, go to class if you're like me and can't understand math by reading a book, if you're not like me then no need to go to class. He has only 4 tests, gives extra credit and collects h/w for points. his tests are exactly off what he teaches and the homeworks. VERY GOOD teaching skills and really cares for his students
I think he is an awsome prof. attend class if you're not great at understanding math by reading the book, do the homework. he goes over it in class and the examples he gives are what will be on the test!I got an A! caring prof.
i failed math 102 and am passing his class with a B+, he's very clear and his accent is NOT bad! he's helpful and makes horrible but cheesy/funny jokes. sit in the very front row and show p every class, do all the homework and you will pass the class no very comfortably
This is the best statistics professor! You should take this course. He will answer all your questions. He teaches it in the easiest way possible. There are 3 exam and 1 final. He gives a study guide for all exam. and during the exam he even gives the formula! His class could be boring at times but he is a great professor.
Great Teacher. Trys to be funny (he kind of is). Easy if you study i didnt study and i did well. DO HOMEWORK. it helps
Most thorough professor. Goes over various HW problems at the beginning of each class. Tests are extremely fair and he breaks down what type of problems will be on the exam. Also, he's hilarious. I would laugh so hard at his sarcastic observations. Students would try to correct him but h was never wrong and they would end up feeling embarrassed lol
I loved this class so much! He is definitely the statistics professor to take. He explains concepts extremely easily and he's hilarious. You really won't regret taking his class. He made me love statistics.
Zakeri is stubborn, and unprofessional. He enjoys letting anybody down. He is strict to the common students, but he personally helps students if someone belongs to his native country. His class is not organized, and exam is hard. Avoid him if possible.
Very disorganized. Went over homework for an hour then tried to teach at the last minute. Kept us after class too.
Dr. Zakeri is one of the best Math teacher I have ever seen in my life. His lecture is crystal clear. He makes Statistic easy to understand. He cares about every single of his students to understand the concept. I definitely recommend him. Just pay attention in the class and do the HW.
He was very difficult teacher and very confusing. Also, he was strict and not fun teacher. It was hard to hear what he was saying because there were over 100 students in that class and his midphone was hard to hear.
He makes jokes,is nice, encourages questions He often goes over hw the whole class an tries to teach in the few minutes left over He doesn't give study guides and grades strict takes off nearly half the question's points when you miss a tiny part Theres hw everyday Do it and go to OH for help No extra cred or compromising even if he's at fault
The worst! Run away from this professor! Change your major if you have to!
RUDE, offensive, & makes it a point to pick on students every class meeting; verbatim, "I like to harass people." he argues with students who genuinely don't understand the material & doesn't know when to stop after he's crossed the line. he thinks its funny, but its a waist of class time. disorganized, makes mistakes often, & lectures are unclear.
Avoid if you can, he is horrible at explaining basic concepts and accent makes it difficult to understand. Test barely correlate with what he taught.
rude, unprofessional, maintains a thick accent, not respected by students
Class was amazing and all you need to know is when to use a certain formula and from there you can answer any problem with ease. Best STATS professor at CSUN TRUST ME !!
This professor provides study guides for each tests and most of the questions are from his study guides! If you are willing to study and work hard , then getting an A will be no problem. Also, doing the homework will help your grade a lot. He gives the formulas already during the tests, so you just have to memorize how to do them. Straight-forward.
Accent makes it unclear to understand. Doesn't grade homework. Not friendly. Not fair teacher.
Obnoxious, unfriendly, and generally a very poor advisor. Ask other students and you will believe what I said.
Rude.
His lectures aren't clear. It might be the accent. He does not answers questions. Rude and mean.
He is rude. His lectures are long and unclear. Run away from this professor.
Rude, obnoxious, and offensive. One of the worst teachers to ever teach at csu Just go see him and you will understand what I mean.
Long and unclear lectures. Answers phone in the middle of class. Avoid.
I suggest you ignore all the poor comments made below! I assume its the same person -_-. I really recommend this professor, he's very clear on his teaching. I would totally fail this class on purpose to take him again. I would always go to his office just to visit. once you meet him, you're gonna want to hug him. he gives study guides very helpful
I am an international student and not fluent in English, I still could get an A. His way of teaching is straight-forward and not really hard to understand. The materials are actually not so easy though, they required lots of practices. Make sure do homeworks and study guide that he gave you before the tests. It definitely leads you nicely.
I would totally recommend this class with him! Practice practice and practice his study guides and you should do great! I became a stats tutor after taking his class. Everything is done by hand which I believe is the best way to learn stats!
He answers his cell phone in the middle of the class. Did not learn a thing from him. However, the text book is OK.
Homework didn't help much. Lectures aren't clear, but the textbook is OK . It's best to skip and study on your own if you can.
If you show up and pay attention to the lecture you should be good. I found the SI lab very helpful but it depends on the teacher. Occasionally he was unclear on the subject matter so read from the textbook if something doesn't make sense. You DEFINITELY need a graphic calculator for the tests.
Lectures are long in order to cover all the material thoroughly. However, as long as you show up, pay attention, and do your part, Professor Zakeri is a good choice. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, I can not stress this enough. He does collect it and they also help a lot on the tests, given that many of the questions on the test are taken right out of the book.
This professor is a gem, he assigns homework all the time but i believe practice is the only way to pass a math class. He cares about his students, and is a genuinely good person. I suggest you take this professor, his class will be a lot of work but if you keep up and understand the material, you'll get an A forsure.
I took Zakeri because his was the only stats class open when I registered. Overall this class wasn't impossible, but it was definitely hard. The lectures are long and he assigns lots of homework. He only grades homework, 3 tests, and one quiz from the beginning of the semester so you really have to do good on those to get a good grade.
This professor was not the best but he most certainly wasn't the worst either. Gives a lot of homework but that goes for most math classes because you need the practice. I would say attendance is necessary because it is very difficult to learn the material on your own. He also has a strong accent so you gotta be tuned in. 1 quiz, 3 test, 1 final
I love this professor I would definitely recommend him. He is truly passionate in what he does and encourages students to do their best. The subject may be labor intensive but he will go over any homework questions you have. Plus he's funny and will explain things over and over from different perspectives if you need help. Great teacher overall!
Genuinely wants you to pass his class. Its a difficult class, but you can pass if you do all the homework and study for the tesst. Attend every class. He answers any questions you have. Sometimes branches off to talk about history of math but other than that I really enjoyed being in his class. I wish I would take him for other math classes.
I really recommend that you take this professor for 150B he explains things very neatly. He gives you so many chances to pass the class, for example he you redo the test at home he gives you an extra 5 points. The test is almost the same as the review. I just did the homework and studied the review and passed with a B however I didn't try to hard.
He is great . If you are a good student he is the best professor you can choose.
Hands down a great professor for Calculus 2. He is a great teacher and gives out plenty of examples! Calculus 2 is in general a tough class, but if you show up to his lectures, do your work, and get plenty of practice, you should see yourself getting an A or a B in his class.
I thought he was a good teacher! He would always do whatever problem you asked him to do and then he would show how to do problems for the next section and he would show proofs for the harder-to-see concepts.
