Tedious, boring course. Uninspired but well-organized material presented by an instructor with a limited command of English. Avoid this instructor. Dr. Dessens is much better, gives good reviews, exams are very fair.
He's very nice and helpful. U don't really need the book, just take good notes. He gives out homework too, but it's not mandatory. If you do his homework, you'll do good on his tests. I really like him.
Excellent professor and highly organized. He makes a difficult subject understandable and dare I say mildly interesting. Just spend a couple hours a day, going over the notes, doing the review handouts and you should come out with an A or B on the tests.
he is the best chemistry professor out there
teaches all types of chemistry(inorganic, organic) he is so clear and a nice teacher.
This guy is very difficult! Avoid him at all cost! He brags about writing the system wide final for both Chem I & II. Not helpful at all!

Its simple, Dr. Pahlavan is not easy. If you are in this class u have to study. HE explains well and always gives short-cuts to equations.
I had Pahlavan for 1411 and I am currently taking 1412. He teaches well, makes things easier for you. If you have a questions or you are unclear about a subject he will help. He gives practice problems and a review before the test. Its best to study if you want a good grade
Took him and failed. He is organized. He called my class stupid. I would have preferred to take this class at my home school than with him. If you can avoid him PLEASE do so.
Like the other person said, you do not need to read the textbook to get good grades on the exams. He does a good job explaining the various topics, but all of the "shortcuts" he teaches probably won't be useful outside of his class. I wish I would've taken Dr. Dessen's class.
Do the lab reviews before showing up for the labs and do the labs carefully, he is very strict on grading these. Do his online practice problems and study the notes you take in class. Make sure he is not in a bad mood when asking him questions. Good Luck! Pfft...
Organic 1 - His teaching style is easy to follow along and systematic. Don't really need the text for his class but having the book to do sample questions from helps a lot. I would take him again because I like his teaching style. He also writes the final for the Chem department so it helps to take him as well.
I had a 67 average in his class and came out with a B. He's simply amazing when it comes to grading the labs. I recommend him.
Took him for Chem 2, Organic 1 & 2, wish he taught more classes! I got a B in all three of his classes, but I honestly didn't study as much as I could have. He doesn't curve at all, but if you go to class, pay attention, take good notes, and do the practice problems, you will be fine. And don't bother buying the book, you don't need it.
i took this class in the summer and made an A. yes you have to study but he makes this subject a little easier to manage. studying his chapter reviews and test reviews really help.
Teaches and tests you on very basic concepts of Organic Chemistry. Nothing like the difficulty of UH Organic courses--Quite easy to make an A with moderate to minimal effort. You don't need the book, just study his notes. However, beware... personality-wise: he is a real jerk, especially in lab.
He grades labs and test like a real ****, his notes are good but for any further questions he's kind of unapproachable. I got B and i did reviews and took notes... there are better chem 1 teachers then him.
He is so helpful, clear and well organized. you will enjoy learning chemistry with him. He solves many problems in class and repaet every thing you dont understand. I would like to take all my chemistry classes with him.
He is a very good teach! He explain all the things clearly. I got an A.
Organic 1 - His teaching style is easy to follow along and systematic. Don't really need the text for his class but having the book to do sample questions from helps a lot. I would take him again because I like his teaching style. He also writes the final for the Chem department so it helps to take him as well.
This is one of the best professors I have ever taken. I felt overwhelmed at first because I had never taken Chemistry before but he helped me out soo much. He has a lot of patience and he is willing to work with you when youre having difficulty with the work. Highly Recommend! A+++
Took him in the mini semester. Good man. Willing to answer the stupidest question. So nice. Wish he will teach math in the regular semester.
man, wahtever people said. this prof. is f*** suck.... his letures is long and useless. You can study his his lettture to get a C to pass. 60% his test is multiple choices and somes of them come from thin air.... thats completely BS.
he is the best teacher you can ever think of.

He is an excellent professor. Just study his notes and do the labs and you can make an A. Would recommend him for those who want to take any kind of chemistry courses that he teaches
great professor
Dr. Pahlavan was the greatest teacher I ever had, the way he teach is different from other teachers and give examples which make it clear to learn, use his lecture notes and practice problem you will be good. His style of teaching is unique, I will take him again,he is a unique teacheer.
Dr. Pahlavan is an Excellent Professor and I highly recommend him for students who want to learn Organic chemistry really well. He is not an easy professor, but as long as you follow his advices and do the homework he asks you, you should be able to make and A. I am so glad I took him and doing his homework and listening to his lectures made organi
i dropped him within three classes coz he is so rude and mean
Dr. Pahlavan is an excellent professor and will take his time to help you. However, STUDYING IS MANDATORY! You will need plenty of time on your hands, otherwise it will be hard to make it. I had to drop =( ...but regular term should be fine, I had the summer one! Good Luck!
I am a stright A student but i regreted taking him during summer... too much pressure Dont take any of his classes during summer
He teaches the Sciences..ofcourse YOU have to listen and study!. Greatest thing about this guy is that if you're simply curious about what he teaches, he'll came down to your level and make it clear. He's short cuts are just that, an easy way of working out a hard problem. Thank you Sir. Hoping to be able to take your class in Fall. R
I took him for Chemistry 2. He was extremely helpful and very kind. He would take his time out and explain to you what you dont understand. His test are extremely hard, i studied everyday for three hours and still manage to fail the first two test. I have to admit that it was my fault because i forgot my basics to chemistry. I somehow managed a C.
i made an A but this guy is something else. aside from the actual class, he is not a good man. arrogant. discouraging. DISCOURAGING. DISCOURAGING! the class is good, his teaching is good. his personality and people skills NEED SERIOUS HELP.
I took both my chems with him.His class is real easy ,do not let anyone fool you.Everything he says he writes on the board and you just have to copy it down and that is all that is going to come on the test.Be nice to him, come to class everyday and do your labs just as he tells you.Stay on the good side and get A's like candy
dont even take him if u want him to make fun of u... so rude and mean, especially the lab class. tests arent easy and he doesnt review for the tests neither.all he can do is writing on the broad. thats it.
don't listen to these bad reviews he's a very good teacher...but if ur lazy and don't wanna study of course he's ganna be hard, but he's very helpful...he has practice exams and problems for all tests and chapters to help u out on the real thing...At first he might seem mean and he may intimidate you but as long as u work hard he'll give u an A..
HE IS OKAY PROF. HE GOES LITTLE TO FAST BUT IF YOU PAY ATTENTION AND COME TO CLASS EVERYDAY THEN YOU SHOULD BE GOOD. IF YOU ARE REALLY BAD AT MATH THEN TAKE SOME ELSE WHO GOES A LITTLE MORE SLOWER. I MADE A B IN HIS CLASS. OVERALL HE IS OKAY. GIVES BONUS QUESTIONS ON THE TEST FOR 10 EXTRA POINTS IF U GET IT RIGHT. GIVES REVIEW BEFORE TESTS.
Dr. Pahlavan is a good teacher. Good as in, he'll help you if you have any questions. Good as in he takes you through everything step by step. You can't be lazy in his class, you also shouldn't take too many other classes while taking his class (like i did) but if you don't want to learn anything about chem, don't waste time taking him.
he is the best chemistry teacher. All his students need is dedication(like any other subject). If anyone really wants to learn chem. -understanding and taking notes (of couse constant practice) is all taht's needed. Chem. is not easy, but no one can teach this subject better. Taking classes with him - is the reason for my career succes today(1998-9
iranians can be arrogant and blunt. he sometimes makes you feel like an **** and embaresses you, but don't take it to heart. that's just how he is. the best way to pass is to constantly talk to him and let him know you're trying. he's hard. so work harder
and 1411.I love Dr. Pahlavan. but besides that, his tests are exactly from your notes but sometimes very difficult (if you don't practice enough). He makes you write your notes down for each step. be willing to learn or be very smart/talk to him every day. and he'll love you. he doesn't like slackers so take his classes seriously. no tests on labs.
just go to class and do the work you will not fail, easy teacher trust me , and i hate doing school work
He's strict on grading and in the lab. so go over your tests to make sure you didn't make any small mistakes. and make sure you dress lab appropriate. he's especially best for the med school & dental school students.
You don't need the book, only notes unless you don't learn by examples. He will bump you up to the next grade if you need it only if he sees you trying. You always ask him EVERYTHING and he will help you. Make sure you read and do your labs before class because he can tell when you didn't and he will grade harder.
Not a math instructor. Avoid him like the plague unless you are already good in Math. You have to literary teach yourself. Got an A so I know what I am saying. He is a nice man though.
This teacher is pretty cool! Must take notes in class, practice exams really help out! labs are soo easy!! Good at explaining material but still kinda hard! but then again its chem 2?
I took him for OChem 1 too. I wish I could have taken him for all my chem classes. Chem is hard but I studied a lot and made A+'s. He gives VERY good notes so if you dont understand it right away just take good notes and you should be able to figure it out and he was always open to questions. Come to class and pay attention; he will like you!
I love Dr. P. He is the best teach ever. Dont mess up the labs or be late. The material is hard but he breaks it down. I made A+ by doing extra problems and writing the reactions over and over, for OChem. He also wrote me recom. letters; he is nice! MCAT/DAT ppl-Keep his handouts for studying, I wish i did. Too bad Dr P cant teach all my classes:)
Don't listen to them! HE is TERRIBLE. He doesn't like his job- always chastises us, puts us down. Is a terrible teacher- just tells us how it is and no why. Wants you to memorize with no reasoning. When you ask a question he talks down to you! I was retaking this to be better prepared for upper level chem courses, but he's been no help whatsoever.
I'd take him over and over and over...Great teacher, but very strict...deducts for assignments even being few minutes late, deducts if you don't follow directions precisely (DOES NOT GIVE YOU TIME OUTSIDE OF CLASS). Has good sense of humor, but definitely earns your respect. Very knowledgeable..better than 4 yr STUDY HARD FOR AN A!
I just loved his class. I took this course at UH and it was diffcult. Pahlavan was able to break down everything. Best thing about the class is his tests come directly from his notes. The second test had a majority of the problems from the homework. Labs are easy.
This is class is easy if you study his practice questions. 95% is right off his questions, with just the numbers changed. Didnt read the book and made an A
He CAN teach there's no doubt about that. I love his teaching a lot. He is nice enough and fair enough but his tests are HARD! H-A-R-D! He gives reviews though...and he marks fairly. He's not a bad person but as head of department his tests are so hard even other teachers say it. there's a 50+% chance it will damage your gpa.
A lot of my fellow students complained about him. We took this class distance ed, but he is a FANTASTIC TEACHER. I got a B but I could of gotten a higher grade had I applied myself a little more (just fulfilling a science in my degree) TAKE HIM!!!
Dr. Pahlavan is a great and devoted teacher! He cares for his students!I think he is the best chemistry teacher! If you want to learn chemistry, you definitely need to take him!
The best chemistry teacher ever!Need I mention he is also the head of the science dept.He teaches not only to prepare you for exams but for Orgo because not ever professor will give you heads up about Orgo but I genuinely appreciate him making us learn the formulas by heart.I'm taking Orgo at UH now and the handouts he gave me are very useful!!!
Online course consists of 3 exams and a final only. That's your grade. There did not seem to be much going in in the class, so you will have to basically learn on your own and be VERY disciplined to stay on track when nothing is due. Not for everyone (online course), but great if you can teach yourself and stay focused.
great professor, cares about students if they are involved in learning and listening, He has many examples and online practices. But you still have to study hard for the test since they are a little bit tricky. So serious about the labs which is good. recommend him to everyone.
One of the greatest professors alive!
He is simply awesome. I took for Org 1 & 2. I made A's in both classes. His tests are really challenging. Org chem is not a class for lazy students; Dr Pahlavan is not a profesor for lazy students either. Show up for lab and lecture, turn in ur reports on time & study hard. U'll be fine.
He is a wonderful professor. If you are lazy, you won't do well. Use the practice tests to your advantage. Text books are not necessary as his notes (extensive) are all that is needed. I really enjoyed Ochem with him!
I took Chem 1405 with him at lone star college-north harris. Highly recommended teacher, he gives practice exams right before the tests so you know what it will cover. We did not use the book at all, all we needed were the notes. Dont miss a day because he goes over alot each day. Only downfall is that he goes fast sometimes.
one of the best instructors everexplains everything, a lot of extra points
The best teacher! Very helpful and is very clear with his notes. Gives practice tests which prepare you for test. He drops your lowest test grade. Really wants you to do well! TAKE HIM FOR CHEM! you will not regret it.
BEST CHEM PROFESSOR! Really easy to understand and he explains everything really good. If you show up to class and take notes you'll be fine. He gives practice exams and really cares about you doing fine. Lab is really simple! Easy A!
This teacher is simply great. he knows what he is doing and gives very specific details to help the students. i wish i could take him for my chem 1412
Pahlavan is a really good professor. I took the class during summer. He knows what he is talking about which makes everything so much easier. We had 3 exams over the course. If you put in the hours to study, you should be great. Great teacher, take him if you have the chance!
Great teacher. Notes are clear and exact to what is required on tests. Not difficult on grading labs and he has practice tests on his website. He drops the lowest lab grade and lowest test grade. Show up to class, take notes, do the homework you will get an A. You have 4 tests, a homework assignment per chapter, a lab/chapter that's it
He is a great teacher overall. He does alot of practice problems to help everyone understand the problems. he has practice exams that are pretty much the same as the actual test. Just make sure you stay on top of your work or you'll fall behind and not catch up.
He's a really knowledgeable professor and teaches you want you need very well. He gives you a lot of examples on the concept but he is a very strict grader. He really reads word for word on all your work and takes points off if you don't show work even if you got the right answer.
Very good at teaching and explaining. Starts from the basics and works his way up. Exam matches the reviews. Never used the book once. No lab report book required. No complaints at all. Just be sure to study or it will be hard.
He really knows his stuff. Actively pay attention, do the practice problems, & you'll be fine. Book isn't required so his tests are lecture heavy. Takes time to explain if you're having a hard time. must show work for full credit. If you attend the lectures and review after you should be fine. Not an easy A, but if you put in work super achievable.
Possibly the greatest chemistry professor on the planet. His style of teaching breaks down previously difficult to understand concepts into fairly simple concepts. He isn't the easiest professor , meaning he pushes you, but you end up learning a lot which will help you later on if you put in the work. Would definitely take again.
This professor is a clever. He love teaching. I took Math 0312 last semester I passed with C. I recognize I'm terrible for Math but this proffessor is open to help students, he always answer my emails about assignments. Is the first teacher Math I'm able to understand. In simple words, he is a genious. I should be like to take Math 1314 if with him
In high school I took AP Chem, taught by a teacher most students thought was amazing. I got a C and a D. When I took it at LSC w/ Pahlavan, I got an A. His method's simple: no textbooks, written lecture notes on the board as he's writing, HW on each chapter, & a test every 3 chapters. Copy his notes and do his HW. He "holds your hand" in labs.
You have to study or you won't even get a C
I bought the book for this class and did not use it once. Professor Pahlavan goes so in depth that you honestly do not need the book. The lectures were long and sometimes would get boring but it may be because of the subject and not him. He tried to throw in some jokes sometimes. Also post samples of test.
Dr. Pahlavan is great. Not Easy. Will not give you an A unless you earn it. But he gives you every tool you need to earn it. I read the first chapter of the textbook then never opened it again. I took this course 4 years ago at a university and did not pass the first exam.. made an A with Pahlavan. Dont skip! His lectures are gold! Take him!
He is AMAZING! and I mean it! his lectures are so in depth, he posts exam examples which he pulls questions from on D2L and his website. He even helps me with Organic Chem and Chem 2 even though he is not my teacher. He is a very tough grader though. Just study his lectures and example exams and you'll pass. Hws are identical to the WS in class.
We don't use the book and you get all information during lectures. Easy to follow and he writes all notes on the board -- gives a ton of examples so you understand. If you don't study (do practice problems and exams) you won't pass. If you're lazy or don't want to learn the material, don't take Dr. P. If you want to learn, you'll love it.
If you really want to learn chemistry take him. He is an amazing professor. You will learn a lot in his class. It is not an easy A which means you have to study deeply for it but an A is super achievable. If you go to class and do what he tells you then you should be fine. Wish he was my professor for all Chemistry courses.
The guy does not let you use a graphing calculator, he will force you to go out and get a new calculator that you may not be comfortable with. You will not pass if you miss out on his lectures because that is what he's exams are purely based on. no review for exam. no equations provided. be prepared to remember every little thing he says or fail.
Do not take him, he is bad!! he literally made me hate chemistry and change my whole major. He is very mean and disrespectful
A good prof. He goes in depth so you can actually understand the material. It would be a little helpful if you already have some background knowledge. Never taken Chem in high school, but took it here. Still able to pass. Show up on time, study the review, do the homework, ask when you don't understand and your good to go!
This professor is the best professor ever. His lectures are great and clear. He's easy with grading just do the review exam and you'll be fine. The lab is required and you can not skip and then submit a lab report.
The dude doesn't post grades, so you'll have to ask him. There is so many labs. VERY VERY lecture/test heavy. So, if you fail one test, RIP your average. He can be rude and intimidating. However, he is an excellent teacher, BUT I rather have a teacher who keeps me informed and FOLLOWS THEIR SYLLABUS. Would not take again.
Professor Pahlavan is very knowledgeable and knows how to explain the material. The material is a little difficult, but as long as you study an A is possible. There are a lot of short lab reports, a lab notebook grade, 3 exams, and the comprehensive final. You have to really pay attention because the practice exams barely reflect the actual exams .
He has really good lectures, but you have to pay attention in order to understand.
This professor lectures so clear, I truly understood chemistry concepts after taking his class. Best chemistry professor I've ever had.
an amazing professor makes you love the class and understand it and he will explain everything from a to z. every organized, and be ready to write notes
He is a very good teacher and he knows alot about chemistry. The only problem is that he is very irresponsible when it comes to grading. He can confuse you on what chapters you should be studying and what labs are due. He does the opposite of what he says sometimes and it's kinda annoying.
Pretty good professor, had him at wcjc. I felt like a real chemist after taking his class. I learned a lot. :)
great prof!
He writes on the board does not explain anything. Just keeps on writing until the class is over. The only way you will understand his class is if you ask another class mate who is already good at it. and you can work with kind of like tutoring or go to an actual tutoring, but he is not good at explaining. He is not at all creative.
He writes and writes all class period long. ANd he writes fast sometimes it hard to get all the notes in he will fill up the board and keep deleting for space doesnt matter you finish or not. why cant he just print the notes and give it to us. its hard to write all his notes and then understand them. he writes a lot that is ALL HE DOES.
Dr. Pahlavan is one of the best professors I've ever had. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to do great. His teaching method is something else. He's a professional and you can see it in the first class. If you take notes and pay attention in his class, you will end up with an A. He's the best in Chemistry department.
Super uncomfortable professor. He knows the subject but comes off with an intimidating demeanor. Tough grader and does not give reasoning for his grading. Would not take again! Do not waste your time
Dr Pahlavan is the most lenient chemistry professor I have ever had. He knows that life can get in the way with a reasonable excuse. I would recommend showing up on time to his lecture class because he does write useful information; also he hands out assignment for extra credit on the test. I made a C+ and that extra credit replaced it to a B+
He grades based on his feelings about you at the end of the semester. Earning an A consistently means nothing if he does not like you. He will change your grade in Canvas at the last minute to reflect that. If you get him, be very careful about your grades.
(Lone star college) This professor, made over half his class feel like idiots. He rarely replies to emails, rushes and gives to much information in his lectures, copies and pastes the table of contents of the text book for a study guide and puts questions within the test that we have not gone over/ barley touched. He does not give feed back either.
One of the best professors I have ever had. All you have to do is pay attention in class and write notes, as everything he says/writes on board will come on the test. He takes time explaining the subjects and makes sure everyone understands the material. His tests may be a little tough, but as long as you study all the material, you will get an A.
(LSC) Dr. Pahlavan definitely knows his chemistry and gives amazing lectures. He's very understanding when the class would ask for an extension and genuinely has the student's best interest in mind. The workload and material is quite heavy (its chemistry), so pay attention to the lectures, do the hw & sample exams and you'll pass!!
the best chemistry professor. easy to understand. just follow and easy to get A.
Professor Pahlavan was honestly such a good professor. He does a great job in his lectures. One thing I loved was he did so many example problems. So many. Which was so helpful. His homeworks aren't bad at all. 1 a week basically. Labs are super important. So is attendance. He grades the labs so make sure you know how to do them. 3 test grades.
He is a good professor for sure.. just don't ask questions bc he doesn't like it.
Great chem teacher, I failed his class but that's my fault for not studying. His homework/ lectures contain everything you need for the exams. He even has lecture videos available online incase you miss class. He is extremely lecture heavy, and there is a lot of note taking for this class. Good teacher, I'll be taking him again next semster.
Good
Mr. Pahlavan at Lone Star College. He is a quality teacher, he explains in a concrete and easy to understand way. His labs and homework help a lot for each exam. In total there are 3 exams and one final. I rate him 4.0 because I feel that the chapter on thermodynamics and gases was very complicated to explain. But overall he is an excellent teacher.
Dr. Pahlavan is a true educator. His lectures were highly informative. Follow his instructions and you will do well. He is a caring person and goes out of his way to help you learn. Your success is his success-your failure is his failure. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Truly the best chemistry professor in the entire Lone Star College. Dr. Pahlavan is always willing to provide tutoring, is very supportive, truly cares about his students, and is an extremely organized professor. If I could take all of my chemistry courses with him I would in a heartbeat. I owe my success in Chem II to the foundation he gave me!!
Professor Gholam is an amazing teacher and lecturer. He will go out of his way to help you succeed which is very rare nowadays. He makes a difficult subject seem easy with his lectures and notes. This class is certainly not an easy A, you have to put in the work. His sample exams were very helpful and are similar to the actual exams.
Took him for summer chemistry 2 and he was great! He went above and beyond to ensure the success of the students that wanted to pass really bad. He offered tutoring and help whenever a student needed it. Overall a great professor that really cares about the success of the student.
Weekly homework, and labs. There was three test and one final. He provides good test practice. Theres also extra credit. His lectures are slow and easy to understand; he knows his material well and provides plenty of help and examples to get you to understand the material. Take notes!! You won't regret taking him; he is a fantastic educator.
Excellent professor. He is very professional and actually teaches instead of reading from PowerPoint presentations.
Dr. Pahlavan is sn exceptional teacher.
He is not a good teacher. Compared to the practice exams the math problems are the same but the concept problems are different. The test is lecture heavy but he asks questions abt info he didn't mention during the class. The test average was low because of that, and all he says is study harder. He has an ego and it can get in the way of the class.
Dr. Pahlavan is the best Chemistry professor at HCC. He explains very well, provides helpful sample exams, and gives extra credits. I highly recommend taking the class with this professor.
Dr. Pahlavan is a great professor and knows everything he teaches. During lectures he provides lots of examples but get ready to write because he writes quickly. There are weekly labs and homework (mylab) due at the end of the month. Provides sample exams so make sure to study hard!!! Tip: buy colored pencils to highlight key topics in your notes.
He is okay teacher, but cant deal with students with different learning abilities. If you have Adhd, add or autism, dont take his class he ignores you.
A great professor. He will give you all the information you need. Open to questions. He is willing to explain more and give more examples when needed. As a professor he does a great job there is no complaints here. I will be willing to learn again from him if there's another need for it.
*Attend Class* Missing a lab will not help your grade. He's very understanding and always willing to help explain the material. Would recommend to anyone that is an attentive student. I took a 5-week course. So, there is a good amount of Homework in a short span of time. But He does show he cares for his students even after they leave his class.
You need to study the problems given in class and the problem sheets. The quizzes, he didn't create them therefor he doesn't know what is included in the quizzes. The concept problems in the test are not easy but dont worry, you will be good as long as you master the class problems.
This professor is very disorganized, very unclear and overall makes the Lecture not enjoyable. He has illogical policies and opinions and often makes mistakes while teaching. He is unkind and will try to make you look ignorant despite his inability to teach
This is an amazing professor to take if you actually want to learn chemistry. You can tell he's passionate about what he teaches and can help you truly learn chemistry if you want. Dont take him if you just want an easy A because you have to earn your grade but he's always there for help and support and offers extra credit opportunities.
While he does know what he's talking about, his lectures are excruciatingly boring. Half the class is asleep as we speak. In order to pass the tests/quizzes, you have to listen to his lectures which is hard because all you can think about is going to sleep. He doesn't give a lot of homework so majority of your grade is based off tests. He's decent.
Professor Gholam Pahlavan is a great and passionate chemistry teacher. His lectures are extremely informative, but if you miss them he provides notes on D2L. He isn't hard at all, but he isn't easy either. Labs are very fun and engaging. He provides sample exams THAT ARE IDENTICAL to the real exam which makes it near impossible to fail. Take him.
Professor Pahlavan is an excellent chemistry instructor. His lectures are detailed and easy to follow, and he provides plenty of example problems to aid understanding. Using Unstuck AI and the course textbook, along with attending labs, are key to success in this class.
Dr. Pahlavan is an excellent teacher. He wants all of his students to do well in class. He gives long lectures with lots of practice problems to prepare you for exams. Do your work and you will get a good grade.
The only thing you need to get A for his class is to take notes well in class and focus on his class lectures. Very structured class assignments and is caring and reply emails first. He wants everyone to do well. Would take his class again!
I took a 6-week class, so it was harder than an average chemistry class, plus we missed two days, so more time constraints. He provides 3 sample exams per exam. Homeworks and labs are easy just need to print out lab work. Will dock points for little things. Hes a good teacher, but ChatGPT mostly taught me this course along with his lecture videos.
Mr. Pahlavan is a great teacher, he gives sample exams before each exam and exams are similar to it. Though the labs are quite long but it's good for practice. He really puts in the hard work for teaching.
He is a very good professor. As long as you pay attention in class and take notes, you should be able to pass. He also gives a very generous amount of extra credit and provides plenty of practice exams.
Gives little to NO assignments outside of lecture notes, so if you learn from outside sources prepare to be accused of cheating. Attendance is required you will be reported to the school every absence regardless of the reason.
This is my first course in several years of working and this professor made earning an A+ possible! He gives very detailed lectures and useful short-cuts vs. using the standard long equations that the textbook shows. The sample exams are similar to the real exams and there are extra credit points on the exams. I highly recommend this professor!
