Very bad teacher and hard
He looks and talks weird wearing the same shirt all the time, but he not bad as a teacher. Not hard at all compared to some other computing courses (CMPT). Very easy quizes, but tests are somewhat challinging. (1-2 multiple questions only)
Cannot speak english clearly at times. looks like a slacker- is always late- but has a very relaxed class.

Network Clown....sometimes could be very funny(or freak??). He is pretty good instructor with hard midterm and final. I learn pretty much about all Microsoft Works application in his course (pretty useful ^^)

If you failed his course(s) you REALLY need to study. hard exams, but a very reasonable marker.
ouch, Gilbert....you are nice guy but not a good teacher
First I thoght he was quite easy. Midterms were alright. Quizes were easy. Assignments got harder each time. Final killed my grade down to C from an A.
he's great when u get to know him. if u have trouble just go visit him in his office (messy is an understatement) he'll literally give u the answer. midterm and final can be hard. love's star trek, spiderman dvds and chow mein. detests microsoft!

This teacher is the worst teacher at douglas college, He mumbels 90 percent of the time and you gotta ask him a question 20 times before he gets what your saying never pays attetion to what you actually say. Gilbert is an Idiot overall
He is very hard to follow and skips around quite frequently. Not a very good instructor and is not very helpful when yopu ask him questions. I wouldnt have to take his class again if i had the option.
i hear bad things about this teacher..
I found him to be very confusing and he doesnt seem to know how to answer questions properly. His assignments are alot harder than his tests and he never i mean never uses the textbook, which is a total waste of our money. If you can avoid taking him, I strongly suggest you do cause you will end up

Gilbert is fairly cool, sort of sloppy looking but super laidbackand gives a mellow class. Easy to do well bu listening and doing homework. Not super helpful, but this course is pretty easy, so you shouldn't need any help.
huahuahuha.. this instructor is soo funny... with his childlike attitude, makes the class fun. Just the assignment which took him 1 year, must be done by us in 1 month...
I found him to be a very easy teacher although I spent so much money on the book, which he didnt use even ONCE. Every assignment is done from a piece of paper. Over all, he's ok

wow, whatta weirdo. seriously the most unclear instructor i've ever had. passed just cuz i knew the material beforehand.
Unapproachable. Midterm was beyond challenging. Nobody did well. Class with Gil Tsui is a miserable experience. He doesn't like his students and it shows. Tries to sell you his old equipment. Really awful teacher. He babbles on about random things like Halo and Battlefield 1942. He is never clear and he doesn't help students with their work, but instead mocks them.

The most boring teacher ever. I have never been this bored in a class ever. I am sitting in his class right now as I'm typing this. His english/chinese accident talking about playing Halo on a 56k modem is so annoying. I don't learn anything in this class. It's all common sense. He is cheesy and this is no fun at all. HELP ME!!
Most horrible teacher I've ever encountered in my life. You can't understand the words coming out of his mouth until he says "Halo" or "Battlefield". He kicks you out for talking and moves you around the class, even if you ask about the assignment. He doesn't help you, instead he mocks you. Just grab the assignment and leave. He's not fired yet?
He can be hard to understand sometimes, but the good news is his tests are completely based on his notes. Don't even buy the textbook, I didn't open mine from the plastic. Has a strange sense of humor. When you're talking to him you're never really sure if he's angry being sarcastic or not. If you're good with computers already he's fine though.

He is the hardest teacher of CISY 1110. Tons of memory stuff if you want to do well in exams and he expects you to learn everything by yourself. His midterm and final are harsh and quiz is not easy. Honestly you learn from him, but too much effort. But he gives enough time for assignments and he is a fair marker. However, his exams are nightmares.

Assignemnts are easy and made with clear instructions. MTs are very long. Do not expect to find help before and after class, nor during break.
DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK (wish I had known), you dont't need it, mines still sealed. Otherwise very boring class - you will probably zone out and wake up finding yourself browsing the internet for the last 20 mins. Assignments are painfully easy, exams on the other hand...not so much. Overall I guess I'd recommend him, but hes nothing special

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF!!! he uses an insane amount of sarcasm and he doesn't speak English well so I can never tell if he's joking or not. He is useless, if you need help... well you won't get it. oh, and do not purchase the text books, waste of $200, we didn't use it once.
Great teacher. His humour is a little dry and hard to connect with at first. This can throw you off balance, but he really knows his stuff. If you have problems, go see him in his office for help as he tends to make kind of a spectacle in class.
Not an easing going teacher at first,he has ABSOLUTELY NO problems of making you uncomfortable in class.Don't talk to the people next to you,even just whispering,he will YELL at you. basically, just sit there and pay attention to the lecture, assignments are tough, but exams are fair.
PHP course. He would basically open the browser, go to php.net, and read out the various functions to the class. I think he's a gamer nerd because he keeps talking about them. Attendance doesn't matter in his class. As long as you're a solid programmer and you can teach yourself with minor guidance you're golden.
A bit hard to understand and makes the worst jokes but assignments and quizzes are easy and completely based on notes. Tests are a bit harder but not crazy. Can be rude if you disrupt his class.
