HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! She is so sweet and so fun. her tests are pretty much straight forward IF YOU STUDY, and go to all the study chats. ALOT OF EXTRA CREDIT and you need to do expiermientrix or write a paper, personally do the expierments you only need 10 credtis for them.

Wonderful, easy-going, and humorous! She makes an obvious attempt to tailor the lectures, activities, and tests to the strengths/weaknesses and interests of the class. Offers A LOT of extra credit! Great for a broad overview of psychology, without requiring an interest in the subject.

She is really nice. She will tell you that her tests are hard, but they are not. She gives you a study guide and all of the answers that are on the test are on that study guide. She is a great professor and I highly recommened her. Sadly she only teaches psy 150.

you get more points for showing up than actually doing well on an exam. so even if you dont do well on exams you can show up and make up for it in in class assignments, which doesnt work well for smart kids who dont show up to class...just warning you

Great teacher! She's a lot of fun. She doesn't take attendance but there are activities that you have to do in class that are a big part of your grade! You have to read the book to get a good grade on tests but she gives a study guide and does online study sessions before the test. GREAT CLASS - wish she taught more courses!

One of the first classes i took at csun. She was great! One of the best I had. If the whole class overall does a bit bad on an exam, she will curve. which helps! Take her, her teaching style is great and entertaining! She teaches visually :)

BEST COURSE EVER! Loved Brogdon! She was amazing, made classes fun and interesting. She is so knowledgeable and approachable. Only thing I would've changed is for her to write on board, all her lectures are on her notes, No powerpoint, so you have to attend all classes and take notes to do well. She'll repeat anything and gives tons of examples!

Ms. B is one of the best professors I've had. The class was so fun you really wanted to attend. Plus she gives SO many points for attendance. A couple pop quizzes. I got Cs on all the tests and still got a solid A in the class b/c of the attendance and little activities that bring up your grade. She makes the class fun and a DEFINITE must take!

This was the best class I've ever taken. Prof. B was and amazing teacher. She made the material fun, and interesting. She talked in a way that everyone can relate to. The study guides and study sessions made passing the tests fool proof. Take this class! You'll love it!

Excellent professor plus extremely nice. I had fun and lots of laughs in the class. One of my favorite class this ever. Her class is very easy to pass, and she gives a bunch of extra credit for in-class assignments. I got an A in her class and I actually left her class with info I can use in the real world. So much fun! Gidget is energetic and very knowledgeable. She's willing to answer ANY question (seriously) and her lectures are extremely clear. Tests can be a little tough, so make sure you study. Often gives extra credit for attendance. Homework occasionally, but there's nothing to it. Good class, you'll learn a lot without being too challenged.

Gidget Brogdon is one of the best instructors I have had since I have been attending CSUN. She is very knowledgeable and has a funny sense of humor. Tests are tricky but if you study the book hard, notes hard, and ATTEND lecture, you should do well. There are 4 ZOTS Ethics papers and a group presentation that is fun. Very willing to help students.

Prof.B is the best you will have at CSUN. Her class and lectures are fun, if you study the exams are not difficult, she gives extra credit, her energy is just amazing. If you don't pass this class its really because you did not try at all. Take her, you won't regret it. She makes the class fun so instead of stressing out you actually enjoy & learn

Brogdon is a dorky, fun, and overall enthusiastic good professor. because of her positive attitude you might think it's the easiest class, but not really. she does curve all her exams. there's a qualitative paper w/ a partner. overall good fun professor.not the easiest but easiest for this course (compared to chavira)

Nicest teacher I have ever had. She really cares about her students. 5 tests, drops one. Plus 10 in class assignments. The lab is online and very easy. The best part is that there ar no essays :)

Awesome teacher! 4 tests (none cumulative) and one APA style observation paper. There are many in class assignments and although role is not taken, if you miss too many classes you will miss assignments and your grade will suffer. But there is a lot of extra credit to make up for a few missed classes. I RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER TO EVERYONE!

Interesting class, goofy teacher which makes it super fun! Tests are based off powerpoints and a little on textbook. Offers study guide which covers all material from exams. 4 easy online papers due (3pgs each), 1 group project at the end. If you study off her study guide and you're normally a good student, you'll be fine.

I really enjoyed this class. I took it during summer session. 5 exams - you can drop 1, participation points (which were easy to obtain), and raising a virtual child which was fun. Brogdon is pretty straight forward and user friendly. She is also a fun teacher!

When she tells you the first day that this capstone is like a full time job, SHE IS NOT KIDDING!! Constant deadlines on essays to meet throughout the semester, hard on a busy person. Group Project with limited time. The exams and the observation activities will help you pass the class!

This woman is amazing! You will not at all be bored in her class. There is a lot of work in the class, but the work is very easy. Literally, all you have to do is show up, pay attention in class, and you will do fine on the exams. And she passes out extra credit like its candy! There’s no excuse for failure in her class! Gidget is a great instructor, very passionate, helpful & empathetic. The class is A LOT of work. 2 textbooks you have to read if you want an A, 5 papers, a group presentation. If you plan on going to grad school & become a licensed professional (psychologist, MFT) you should take this course. If you only need an easy elective this one isn't for you

love her she's the best took her for 310 also. Class test are very hard but if you do well in your writing, and do all the ec work and do every single work she gives you you can pass.

Easy class you will learn about the different disorders. 15 quizzes from the reading drops the 4 lowest 1 paper from a book of your choice. Final exam are case studies which you will learn do to through out the semester.Go to class or you will miss out on easy ec. Take her you'll like it.

Everyone loves Gidget, she knows her stuff and knows how to teach it. Very honest and straight forward. One of the best professors I've every had. Read she expects you to have done it and will give pop quizes. Buy the book you can use it in the future. Use the study guide and on the final project be creative but dont leave out the facts.

Amazing professor, one of the best in the psych department!

She is by far my favorite professor! She is easy because she actually makes learning fun and by the time the exams comes its no problem. Every week there is a reading quiz. She gives extra credit too! I'm taking her again this semster! So glad she's teaching more classes! Take her, you won't regret it!

You need to read or skim the chapter before class because there's a quiz every class. Those quiz points matter. The final was a written final about case studies. Takes attendance more than once on certain days, mostly all days. She isn't a boring lecturer but the quizzes happen before the lecture so lecture doesn't help with that.

One of my favorite classes this semester. Brogdon was fun, lively, informational, knowledgeable and interacts in a meaningful way with her students. I would take this class again in a heartbeat.

The seminar grade is based mainly on participation. So you have to try and talk a lot. It can get a little stressful to come up with things to talk about. Something I love about her is she gives a lot e.c. The only issue I had was that she was nicer to some students more than others. I felt like no matter how much I tried, she didn't like me. :

Favorite class. She is the reason I am now minoring in Psychology. You can really tell how passionate she is about teaching and psychology. I have her M/W 8am and she really brightens your day and makes your mornings. Very helpful, don't be shy to ask for help. You truly don't know why everyone is head over heels in love with her until you actually take one of her classes. Hands down, an amazing woman.

One of the best professors I've had! Class was at 8 am but she was hilarious and I actually looked forward to class. Lots of extra credit, ended up getting well over 100%. Welcomes questions, and is clearly enthusiastic about what she does. GO TO CLASS! She often gives extra credit to those there on time! Would love to take her class again!

She is very awesome ! Had the class at 8 am but still looked forward to going to class, very helpful and gave lots of extra credit. Online assignments always due which kinda sucked, but were helpful for the tests! She also gave the questions to some of the exams so that was pretty good.

Took her for capstone and it is probably the easiest class you could ever come across. You only show up for 10 classes for lecture and spend 45 mins in seminar for the rest of the semester. Your grade depends on attendance and participating in discussions.

Gidget is truly an inspirational professor. She is one of those professors that you will never forget. I loved her capstone class. I learned so much and it helped me view the world and developmental issues like an informed individual would. The class revolves around writing your own literature review. Excellent prep for grad school and real life.

Her seminar is a discussion class where you sit in a circle & everyone needs to participate & speak up about their opinions for full credit. Half of credit is for attendance & other half for participating in discussion. It might be hard if you're shy. She balances that out with writing assignments so your grade won't fully depend on participation

I enjoyed the hands on learning in this class. Daily quizzes on reading. The quiz questions are study guide for two mid terms. Daily "labs" or activities that involve the topics from the chapter. Gidget is interesting and makes the course interesting. Hope to take her again.

I absolutely LOVED her class!! There are 2 exams, 4 current event papers, 1 final paper (need book), and 1 presentation. Her lectures are interesting and she is a very approachable professor! The exams are long and not made to be easy, but if you go to her lectures and study, you will be fine. You will need the book for the final paper.

Gidget is hands-down one of the best profs out there. She's funny and witty and also direct to the point. This was not an easy class, but as long as you pay attention and also use your common sense (this was ethics, after all) you should be fine. 2 Exams, 4 current events papers, a presentation, and 1 Final Paper. Again, not easy, but manageable.

Super caring and funny. There's only three tests and she gives study guides for all of them. There's also a semester project that is easy to do. She doesn't take attendance daily and offers a bunch of extra credit. She really cares about her students and the subject. She has powerpoints every class but its never boring.

I took her Intro class my freshman year. Her advice and positive energy aided in my decision to switch from kinesiology to psychology major and it was the best decision I've ever made. Her class was so engaging that I didn't even read the book. attend class and you'll be okay.

You have to take her seminar its the best part, thats where the magic is. there is a lot of reading for seminar but its things you would when you're bored bc they're so interesting! Gidget is the QUEEN of extra credit! Take of advantage of them, it might help you in the end. Attendance is worth points. Her class is fun! Quizzes every week. Mid term and a final; case studies only. Also, there's a paper to do. There's 2 textbooks required but I would suggest to get the DSM-5. That book is crucial for your midterm and final!

This class is based of MC exams and a personal goal that you track throughout the semester! Take her for any class you can get!

Professor B, is a really good professor. She listens to what you have to say and is honest with everything she says and does. Lots of work involved in her class but its not hard, it just takes time. 3 tests, 4 observation papers which are very easy, and the homework is done online. I highly recommend her if you want to learn something.

Gidget is absolutely the best. Probably the most chill professor at CSUN. Class consists of a midterm and final. There's an ongoing semester project too which is really fun. See her outside of class too. She's really easy to talk to. Her lectures are informative, yet entertaining. TAKE GIDGET!

My favorite professor so far. Her final isnt cumulative. 1 midterm, final, ec and a semster long goal activity. Attendence is important as you get 10 points participation everyday. It's also important to be there because you have to write down info in her lectures as they ususally dont have the info on them online. She is such an awesome professor!

Not sure where to start. This was a rough semester because of the pandemic. Gidget made it easy to transition to online and tried to keep class as "normal" as possible. Testing was hard because of the issues with being online. You can tell that she really cares about her students and their success. Wish I had the same experience with others.

She is such a nice teacher who really cares about her students. The lectures were interesting and the homework was fairly easy. The exams were easy if you take good notes on her lectures. We also had a goal project throughout the semester which was fun! Overall, I recommend this class with her :)

This is my favorite professor at CSUN. I took her for Psych 352 and I am taking her for Psych 310 right now. She is so helpful and awesome. I am really hoping that she is teaching a 400 level class next fall or spring semester. Take her class you wont regret it.

I totally disagree with the person below who said the class was easy. Most of what I learned in this class was new information. Exams are hard but if you show up to class she is good at explaining examples. Yes, she talks about her own life but I think it makes her more loveable. I would take any class she teaches.

Absolutely phenomenal teacher, but if you want a class that will challenge you this is not the one. For some who is an avid student of psychology I have found this class nothing short of boring & slow. A very basic and beginner intro to the abnormalities of psychology. Perfect if you aren't one for outside research. If not, beware of the redundancy

I never loved my major more. This professor was the highlight of my entire college experience. She is very kind, honest, and helpful. We have a quiz each week and a couple of discussions. They are super easy to do. I recommend finding a DSM5 pdf online, it really helps with the case studies.
