Great prof, has a great sense of humour that makes going to calculus class in the morning fun. He is happy to help during his office hours and in general is very helpful.

He is a kind person. However, I suspect that his act of being flustered and awkward was false, because he seemed quite different outside of class. The class was quite easy, but then the final was very lengthy and there was hardly enough time to finish. Overall, however, he is a nice professor.

This is the world's most awesome professor!!! He is fun, crystal clear, and very approachable outside of class. He is always there to help, and cares that you do well. His choice of textbook is also excellent. His explanation of difficult concepts is exceptional. He has intensified my interest in math exponentially! Yay - way to go, Gour!!!

Gilad is a fun prof! He explains how to solve problems step by step thoroughly so everything is easy to understand. He's approachable and makes his assignments, quizzes and exams similar to each other so it's easy to study for. Highly recommended!!

Really good prof. Explains everything well, is easy to understand, and he's really funny. he makes the concepts so clear and easy to get. His final wasn't the easiest thing ever, but quizzes were open book on webwork and the midterm was webwork. definitely try to get him as a prof.

Dr. Gour is one of the rare excellent Math professors out there. Although this class was very challenging, I loved it and the way he handled the teaching made my interest level very high. He is a very good professor and likes to see his students do well. Great at teaching and also a great man overall. Grab the opportunity strongly if you have him.

Gour was a decent prof. But the computer based mid term was a joke. I went in to discuss my mark with him and had to wait 45 minutes in line because so many other students were there doing the same thing. But he did make a super easy final to compensate for the awful midterm.

This guy deserves to be called A TEACHER! He really tries his best to teach you the stuff and help you understand; he gives you different approaches on how to do things. Not only that but he is quite funny. His class is pretty easy. If you study and know you're stuff, you will do really well!

Gilad is the BEST. He makes math so much fun, and makes his students want to be in class - want to GO to class! He explains everything in such simplistic terms and uses a plethora of examples. The MATH 253 course I took with Gilad was absolutely terrific. Unfortunately, the course had a very heavily weighted final (50%) as there was no midterm and the format was very difficult (15 M/C, an option of 'none of the above' for every question). Easily the best calculus professor (Had him twice)... took calculus 5 times... The key to calculus. Go to every class, ask lots of questions, make sure you UNDERSTAND all the Webwork, study for the quizzes. Very hilarious and upbeat. Was not a class he wasn't smiling the whole time in. Great outlook on life! Very helpful.

He came in and taught my class for a week. He was funny, gave good examples, explained everything. Worked at a great pace. The only downside was when he left.For exactly 3 classes I was both interested and enjoying Calculus. If you have to take Math 253, take it with GG

Great notes and examples in class. Definitely attend class. Assignments and quizzes are fairly simple and final is tough but fair. Only cons of this class include very few questions making up final grade. Each quiz had 5 questions and was worth 7.5% of your grade and the final was 15 MC questions worth 50% of your grade

Great professor! He's very enthusiastic and funny; definitely wants his students to do their best! As the others have mentioned, the only downside is the fact that there is no midterm so the quizzes and final are weighed quite heavily. So make sure you do well on the quizzes...because if you don't, you'll have nothing else to pull your mark up!

Notes, are amazing, his teaching is as clear as it will ever get. Quizzes? If you do your webworks your guaranteed 100%, NO MIDTERMS! and Final, is exactly like the practice final and even easier. Cheerful prof, very clear teaching and EXTREMELY helpful whenever something isn't clear. Re-explains things in simple terms - just ask a quick question after class if you're ever lost! Funny in a quirky, roll-your-eyes sortof way. I disliked the midterm format (6 question, multiple choice worth 30%), but the final was great. Highly recommended!

Gour is an utterly charming professor. Months later I still laugh to myself considering some of his antics. Aside from being an interesting person, Gour is a strong teacher that brings a favourable flavour to mathematics.

Made course material interesting and had a hilarious and informative lecture style. Notes add a lot of value to the material so much so that the textbook was rarely used. Quizzes were fair as were assignments. Final was fair but also unforgiving as it only had 15 questions and was worth 50% of your grade.

I have never had such an enjoyable and funny instructor in my life. He gives many examples on the chalk board that are very useful. To be honest this is my last course of Math ever (aside from stats) and the worst part of it is I wish I could have taken his calc IV class if I continued with it. I'm glad I had the honour of being in his class.

I like him a lot. He works through the examples and does not explain them too abstractly. The midterm, however, was very difficult compared to the material we had covered.

Professor Gour is a great prof! He taught the class well in my opinion although the midterms were a little tough (60% class averages). I guarantee that he will make you laugh! He makes the class enjoyable with his sense of humor. Attend the continuous tutorial if you need help, they are very helpful. Overall a good prof in my opinion.

A very good math prof since he worked out problems by hand. He will explain again if you ask. He is also very amusing and makes the class enjoyable. The tests were rather difficult however.

Dr. Gour uses a thorough, detailed, and balanced combination of detailed examples, proofs, and visual theory to provide background and motivation for the mathematics. He can also be quite funny occasionally, making jokes such as, "you've all known natural numbers since you were embryos". I would recommend Dr. Gour for linear algebra!

Gilad is a good man with a passion for Math. He's always ready to help so don't be afraid to contact him with questions. Don't let the name fool you, his accent is not a problem and he is great at keeping lectures interesting and pacing concepts.

Great prof, made the lectures a lot less boring for me. I stopped attending class half way through, and that is what killed my mark in this class, the material isn't easy, but Gour helps you understand it if you need. First midterm is not bad, second one is killer, and the final was decent.

He is simply amazing. one of the most caring profs and individuals i have met. he cares about you succeeding above anything else linear can be a super tough course but gour is there with you every step of the way, go to tutorial his office hours study and practice and you'll ace.

Gilad is an amazing prof! The material he teaches in class is almost identical to what is on his tests and he is always stressing his availability for extra help. Plus, he has a sense of humor and genuinely cares about his students success.

By far the best math prof I have had so far! His humour in lecture makes linear algebra enjoyable because you find yourself laughing almost every class. He presents the lecture material clearly and organized - our class was very prepared for the Midterm/Final. I will definitely be taking another class with him!!

I enjoyed the time I had with Gilad. He explained the basic concepts very well to me, someone who knew nothing next to nothing about the class before taking it and hated calculus. It was a new way to look at numbers that I found very interesting. He always had a joke to crack! Just remember to practice the skill sets he gave you and you'll do well.

Great prof for math 211. He is funny and cares about students understanding the material. He teaches by using a lot of examples. Midterm and final were pretty straightforward but not easy. Just go to class and understand the assignments and you'll be fine.

Tough material. But Great prof. He is slightly unorganized and can go of on some pretty interesting tangents, but for the most part he keeps the material clear and relevant. He's always enthusiastic and really wants each student to learn. Fantastic teacher, and a great person.

Generally very good at explaining concepts, however when you're confused sometimes his re-explanations don't help clarify so you're on your own there. Would still recommend and his lectures are very enjoyable

Professor Gour made Math 211 easy through his simple and to-the-point lectures, funny remarks, good communication and expertise in the field. Going to his lectures is highly recommended for success in Math 211, because he explains new concepts in a way that is easy for beginners to understand. Although beware that he goes overtime a lot.

Gour is very funny and engaging in lecture, and while he often makes mistakes in his (very scattered) notes they're fairly easy to catch if you're paying attention. He made the final very difficult and unlike the assignments at all though.

Best. Math. prof. EVER! Gilad always shows enthusiasm, making the lectures enjoyable. He makes mistakes at times but it does not matter when students are competing with him on finding them first. He's a really funny guy, often makes jokes. Lecture materials are fairly easy other than a hard final. But guaranteed pass if you do all the assignments.

Dr. Gour is such a good lecturer. Gives lots of good examples with thorough explanation. Such a sweetheart. However, the midterm/final are really hard. Make sure you go through the practice tests and understand how to solve them thoroughly, as they tests are similar in concepts, not questions.

Dr. Gour is an amazing prof. If you have the chance to take a class with him, please do! His classes are fun and easy. His notes are done really well, he takes the time to go through the topics. The midterm was almost exactly like the practice midterms given (even the same questions). The final on the other hand was hard, so study lots!

I like his teaching style, it really caters to everyone; those with a weak, average, or strong understanding in Math all benefit from his lectures. The midterm was fair, and the final was harder, but was not difficult if you took the time to look over Lyryx assignment questions and past exams.

He is such a good prof! Linear algebra is such a different sort of math course but he teaches it well. The homework questions are pretty doable at the start but get a lot harder. The midterm is basically the practice midterms so do those!! Final was very hard imo but doing good on the midterm saved me.

He is AMAZING. If you are taking math 211 (I don't know why you would) make sure to take it with him. People from other lectures go to his class, he's good. The course is only a final (50%) and midterm (30%) with weekly assignments (20%). But the exams are hard and you have to work hard. I had never studied that much math in my life.

Math 211 is EXTREMELY difficult, but Dr. Gour is the only prof who made it bearable. He is naturally funny and provides lots of examples. He goes by his own notes, not the free textbook, which made a big difference for me. Final is worth 50% but most years it gets curved. If you have to take this class, taking it with Dr. Gour makes the difference.

Dr.Gour is one of the greatest Prof's out there, he always uses witty humour to keep you engaged and teaches regardless of how under the weather he's feeling. If you have the option to take a class with him I highly recommend it.

Probably one of my favorite instructors I've ever had, period. Dr. Gour's always extremely chill during his lectures and has this perfect subtle sense of humor. He never leaves anything up to the student to assume and explains each topic very thoroughly. I honestly wish he taught more courses because I'd take every single class with him if he did.

MATH 211 is a fairly easy course, however, the materials are somewhat difficult. Take this if it is online. Being online takes the stress out of the midterms!

I LOVED his teaching. I HATED his exams(be very careful). Plus, they are online which means you get no marks awarded unless your answer is EXACTLY the same with the Lyryx's own. This is especially frustrating because this class is really hard. There is a lot of homework (10 sets of 10-13 questions). You also have to complete a study guide for 10mks

I honestly have no clue about Gour as a prof but he has an amazing TA Florian who instructed one of the lecture sections and he had god-tier colour coded notes and was amazing at taking like 20 minutes to explain the content for the day. If he's still a TA when you take the course I highly recommend attending his sessions. Lyryx HW is a free 25% !

The BEST math professor I have ever had. He's fun and explains all the concepts with examples very well. Taking the class online definitely helped, but he made it so so much better. If you have the opportunity to take his class, do it!

We learned each concept in the lecture videos, again in the in-person lecture (different prof), and again by reading the textbook, yet I felt that many concepts remained lost on me. 75% of the final grade came from 45 multiple-choice questions, which I felt was unfair.

I had him in online class, he was very good. he did good examples that would be helpful for our assignments and exams. he explains things very well. just took a while to get through things when people asked not that important questions. but I really liked him.

Professor Gour's MATH211 class was pretty solid. His lectures were clear and he explained concepts well. The Lyryx homework and textbook work were key for success. unstuck ai also helped with study prep. Overall, a manageable course if you stay on top of the work.
