Took his class for the mandatory freshman course. Classes were easy, participation was encouraged. Strong use of canvas and powerpoint presentations. I am a disabled veteran, this course was required for SAC. I did not expect to learn anything coming into this class, and didn't expect much of the teacher (before meeting him.) Once I was a few days into the class I saw how much Dr. L cared for his students, inspired them, and ensured understanding of what needed to be done. He earned my respect.

This class was required, but I felt like my high school went over most of what we cover. The assignments are straight forward, follow the rubric and it's an easy A. He also knows a lot about degree plans and transferring so he offers a lot of help. If he doesn't have the answer he will direct you to someone who does.

During this class I had the opportunity to learn how to apply for scholarships. In fact, before the class ended I was $1, 000 richer. Now, I use that knowledge to apply for more scholarships. This class makes you rich money wise and in learning wise.

This is an excellent class for brand new college students as well as older students returning to college after a long time- such as myself. The class was a great class to teach incoming freshmen how to be a college student. Some high schools do not teach any form of college prep, and this class, especially with this professor has deemed itself very useful.

When I first came to class, I didn't understand why I had to take it. So I wrote it off. But each week I found that I was learning so much about myself, like how I learn, and how to prepared for what college and career may throw at me.
