This teacher is a fun, loving, person that tries to fulfill the student's needs. He has a great big smile but it's his personality that makes him "hot". This course is transferable, and you can do soo much after taking this course, job wise. Just bug him. I recommend everyone to take this course!!!!

Great Teacher!! Here's a person who tries you like an equal; with respect. As long as you follow his rules and guidelinse, you'll do fine. He's such a sweetheart! He loves to have fun and is always smiling. I'd recommend him to anyone. Other professors should take notes on how a REAL professor acts, talks, teaches, etc.

He is a good Professor, but he has feritisim againts his students, so watch out make sure you do your work. Other than that you will pass if you do all your speeches and homework. Oh, by the way do not buy the book he does not even go over it just borrow it from the library to read certain chapters for the test!! GOOD LUCK

Very excellent teacher, knows his stuff, very funny guy. You will never leave the class without a smile on your face. Speeches are very important, you have to do all the speeches to pass. Grades fairly.

I noticed his teaching method involves developing your own personal style cuz we're all different. He is goofy but when it comes down to it he knows his stuff, he's a brat. I miss traveling with him, specially lunch time, when he hands over the cash...

Mr. Puga, is handsome, smart, chellenging boosts your CONFIDENT! I in the begginning, was shy but now not shy to talk. My english was not so good but later better. Give you many extra credit assinments, and help me pass with A! You must only show up, talk in class, and he help you pass class. Tests are only a little bit of study. Very nice!

Funny, and not a waste of time to take! He is very dedicated into what he does. Will help you till very end. No doubt! Tests are easy and will regain your confidence. Take him for credit and join the Speech team! He let's students travel for free! Might sound cheesy but after a semester with him, you will feel more CONFIDENT!

Joined speech team in 04 and have been a member since, I started shy and now I'm a confident public speaker heading to law school. Puga encourages diversity and honesty on his team. HE is a wonderful person who cares about his students alot! He is extremely skilled in many forms of communication and rhetoric. Join his speech team you wont regret it

I took a debate class with Professor Puga he is a very good teacher who is very encouraging, he understands audience adaptation very well. A very helpful class I encourage anyone who wants to learn to take this teacher.

Don't mind the other comments below, to be truthful they were complaining due to the fact that they didn't pass the class-it's all for show! Puga at best is helpful, fun, ORGANIZED, dedicated, NEVER LATE, and HOT! From taking his interp course till joining the speech team life has never made me so positive! I recommend everyone to take him!!!

THIS CLASS WAS FUN I USE TO BE NERVOUS ABOUT SPEAKING IN FRONT OF PEOPLE BUT YOU GET USE TO IT AFTER UR SECOND SPEECH, YOU JUST HAVE TO DO A GOOD SPEECH AND YOU WILL PASS THE CLASS. I RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR.

Very fun teacher, encouraging and helpful! Has fun topics to talk about. He is unorganized and forgetful. Must be patient to take his class. His quizzes are easy and useless, but overall fun!

A high energy Prof. that tries to make his class fun. Very positive no matter how bad a speech went and will always provide a study guide previous to every quiz (which you can use on said quiz). Not always prepared, but will make up for it. Overall not a bad Prof.

Professor Puga is a high energy instructor! This is great because he was easy to approach and communicate with. He can be a little bit unorganized, but he was always straight forward with assignments and clear about what he expected. His debates were actually tons of fun for our class.

Super entertaining and hilarious professor! He reminds me of Michael from 'The Office.' His quizzes are easy if you read the assigned readings. He's a fair grader. You'll get an A on his assignments if you follow the directions as stated in his course manual. Does not accept late work, btw.

An energetic professor, if you're not interested in argumentation & debate, you will be by the end of the course.

Puga is a good teacher, he knows what he is talking about and does so with much enthusiasm. He likes to do many group projects. Only about two speeches were required of me. Great class to learn about interpersonal relationships.

Great professor. Very energetic makes the class fun not boring at all. He teaches very well and he is a great speaker. Not a hard class if you pay attention. Easy work easy A. by the end of the semester you will overcome your fears of speaking infront of a class or big group! interesting class! students will enjoy!

Professor Puga is awesome! He is very entertaining and there is never a dull day in Speech 101. I really enjoyed his class he is a great teacher. I learned a lot and am a better speaker because of him!

I abosolutely love Gil! He is a very funny teacher with a good sense of humor. His class is easy just show up and do your assigned speeches its not that hard I never did mine I would usually improvise the day of and I got a B+. I recommend taking his class on a Friday.

Cool summer class. Puga gives practical public speaking advice that can be used far after the class. Plus he's an easy grader. Just follow the speech format he gives you. The class will show you how to work with you're anxiety as opposed to eliminating it.

Super easy class which is clearly presented. You have to give 2 speeches. Just do all the assignments and you should get a good grade.

Absolutely wonderful professor full of enthusiasm. I took speech originally because of my interest in nursing but now I want to pursue medical school. Anyways, great guy, wonderful lecturer. So many people dropped because either they were scared or lazy to put in the effort. He is at times subjective though, even when you give a great speech.

Very energetic professor, loves doing his job. SPCH 100 is a bit difficult if you are the shy type like me, all projects require you to stand in front of class and present. Other than that he gives take home quizzes from lecture and book, and journal assignments which is usually half a page minimum.

Let’s begin with the ‘textbook’. It's a joke! Basically it’s just handouts with a ton of grammatical errors that are sold at the bookstore for $4. This class consists of 4 take home quizzes, 6 debates, & 2 Analysis Papers (basically they are a series of minor projects). Show up for your debates, be a team player, easy A.

BE PREPARED TO DO ALOT OF WORK IN THIS CLASS. I became overwhelmed at times, and you do alot of speeches in this class. But at the end, i was glad i took this class. Puga makes the speeches fun, and he is a funny bubbly guy! You will interact with your classmates alot and you will definitely enjoy this class. Love Mr. Puga! My fave class this semes

Super Easy! There's a little homework packet every week that you have a week to do. But other than that, the first 6 weeks are people doing a "self presentation" and the last 6 weeks are people in pairs doing a presentation. Light lectures throughout the class - but he posts them online :) oh and lots of roleplaying!

Cool teacher. if you do your part, he does his. A lot of homework, 2 presentations. one is about yourself the other is with a partner about a interesting topic you get to choose from a list. Really cool teacher overall.

A lot of people when they hear the word "Public Speaking" they get fearful. I was one of them! But then I took puga's class. He has a way to take the nervousness of public speaking and turn it to excitement. I really enjoyed his class and left there more confident then when I went in. Also trust me, if you just do the speeches you'll pass no prob

Took him for SPEECH 101 Honors he is a good teacher but the class was hard to pass you have to come out with a speech every week, tough grader not an Easy A.

Professor Puga lets you know exactly what he expects of you, but is a tough grader. He expects you to put in the effort and will push you to be a better speaker. I found his class very helpful. Plus he is always smiling and laughing.

Puga is always enthusiastic when lecturing and he is passionate about what he does. He gives specific examples of what a makes a strong speech. If you follow the grading criteria for each speech you should get an good grade. Overall, great professor and fun class!

I was hesitant at first to take speech during the summer, but honestly it was the best choice I made. Mr puga made my fear of public speaking become non-existent. He pushes you to become a better public speaker and his class is very fun. I would recommend takin his class.

He's such a good professor! I recommend taking him. I took a summer class with him and over came my fear of public speaking. His book is helpful with the outlines for the speeches. If you follow the outline you'll be fine and pass. If you miss only one speech you can still get a 70%. His class is fun.

Puga is very energetic so your class will never be boring. Basically he lectures on the textbook and you take notes. Use those notes for the homework/take home quiz. You write papers, outlines, etc. Most important though, are the debates which gets covered thoroughly. He gives you a list of assignments on very 1st day so you know whats coming.

if you do your hw on time and actually take the time to read and go over it you will be perfectly fine. I took him for the summer session, and I recieved an A. I was dreading to take speech but im glad i took it with him. He does give out alot of take home quizzes, but its straight from the textbook, pretty easy. Only had to do 2 speeches, and alot of in class activities. Really fun class.

I just took his class over the summer and this professor was amazing! Really made lectures fun and got you out of your comfort zone when doing speeches. I was given the courage to talk about things that never was I ever able to talk about previous to this. If you show up and do all your speeches it is an easy A.

As a person who doesnt like to speak in front of the classroom or gets nervous just for any speech I would highly recommend Professor Puga. He will make you loose that fear, at first it seems intimidating but he will help and guide you. His speeches are very easy and to the point, super funny as well, he also makes his lessons easy to understand.

I loved this class, from the tests to the assigned homework. his tests are easy and theres one project but its with a group, easy stuff. Overall, would take him again for other SPCH classes.

This man is amazing. He comes to class with joy and positive energy. He's well respected, a very understanding guy. You can be shy and all but honestly, he's not judgmental at all! AMAZING prof!!! Has the best energy. I actually looked forward to going to his class. (6PM class on a Monday!) He calmed our nerves and everyone eventually became really close. Even having transition to online -it was enjoyable & made me comfortable with speaking to a camera. Highly recommend taking his class if you don't like public speaking.

Dr. Puga's public speaking honors class in the summer was great. He's always willing to help. The quizzes weren't so bad, you really just need the textbook for it. His class really helps you get out of your comfort zone. Since this is an honors course the only additional assignment is an analysis paper. You have to put the effort for this class.

Took him for Fall 2021 online. WRITE out the lectures then go LISTEN to his recorded lecture because he gives verbal info about information that'll be on the test. Easy homework assignments. 3 recorded speeches (that you record on your own time) all in all perfect class if you're shy and WANT to learn. He's a sweet man NOT hard at all. takeNOTES!

This class is an easy A. Lectures are interesting . Professor Puga is very cool and charismatic. I really enjoyed his class. Participation is expected but no need to worry if you are shy, Professor Puga makes the class fun. There were also 2 group projects. I would definitely take this class again if I had to.

This class is really easy to pass with an A . If you buy a digital copy of the book it is a lot cheaper and makes doing all the open note quizzes a breeze. The professors lectures are pretty long but are mostly interesting and engaging. I would recommend taking his class!

Lectures through slideshows that are accessible on canvas. Book is only required a few times, borrow from library. Gives many easy quizzes on canvas. Grade does not drop if tardy or absent. Many group activities, you will get to know everyone in the class. Many small but easy assignments. Final test on canvas & poster board on a topic is easy.

He's very funny and I really enjoyed his lectures. Tests were a little confusing because the material wasn't really covered as much as I wished it was, but he made it very interactive !
