He is a very nice guy... however his exams are very impossible
Nice guy, impossible class, impossible exams, hard to understand.
Does not speak english clearly. Tests are unreasonable.
nice prof...if u go to his office hours, he will help you out, tests impossible
He was a nice guy, but a horrible professor. Needs to learn how to teach!!
He was very friendly, helped during office hours. Tests werent not that bad
WAY TO HARD, lectures dont help, tests impossible
two tests Both were ridiculously hard
tests are reasonable, lectures are for the most part helpful
get a large eraser for this class, changes his mind frequently, hard exams/hw
I had to teach myself everything. Worst teacher ever!
skips all middle steps.... ****
Curve? What's a curve?
Goes through the material very fast and expects you to know it as good as him.
Real nice and helpful, but tests are very hard.

never before have good intentions gone soooooo wrong
he seems nice, course sucks, waste of time
worst teacher ever
nice guy, tries hard but sometimes unclear- TA helped a lot! easy class
so nice and friendly, gave us candy
funny man - makes class interesting; moves quickly through material; easy tests
I can not stand this guy's accent. He's Brazilian I think. He gives problems on the exams which are nothing like class problems and homework problems. I haven't dropped the class yet, but after the 48 I just got back I will drop it when I get a chance.
Flies through material. Accent is very amusing. Cracks very random jokes at very random moments. Can be helpful outside of class, but not enough time during. Computers in lab + MATH 243 + 2 hours of this guy = great time to play computer games.
#1 Dick. Avoid at all costs.
worst ever
I have one thing to say. The averages for the three tests that he gave. 58 55 53......and he doesnt curve...have fun
plan on teaching YOURSELF the curriculum...
decent guy. a little too excited about math. he confused a lot of people in class, but 167 is an easy course so if it confuses you go back to high school algebra. homework is majority of grade. tests are open book, term paper at end (dumb.)
he told me to stay in the class and it would be fine. Then he gave me a D
Teacher was always available for help and constantly asked if we understood or had questions. Sometimes is unclear because of his accent, but for the most part, he is very good!
Very nice guy, approachable. Goes through the material quickly, tests are very straightforward. Makes class interesting by joking around combined with his accent.
he makes lots of mistakes that can be confusing
Hard professor, but will explain thingsd during lecture. Lecture is a must to do well in class.
Terrible teacher. Getting an A in the class because I had the material before and even then I don't understand what he is talking about. Makes a load of mistakes and never corrects them which makes the notes useless.
If you get stuck with this guy, the only reason you should go to class is to try and figure out what chapter he is attemptiong to teach so you will know what you have to teach yourself later. His lecture is disjointed, boring, and he makes frequent mistakes.
Teaching a course for engineers, you would think that he would explain how you can actually apply the math towards engineering. NOPE!! He uses T, t, and tau in the same equation to represent 3 variables. Couldn't he pick a different symbol? If you have a choice, don't take him.
Tough class to teach and he does a pretty good job. He is a bit confusing and moves very fast. Makes many mistakes on board. However, he is extremely helpful if you go to his office hours. Will slam you on tests for improper notation. overall, hes a decent teacher.
Very difficult to understand. The co-professor of the class (lenhoff in my case) was much more helpful if you're trying to understand a difficult concept.
Horrible professor! The worst at UD! Very hard to understand...impossible tests...doesn't follow the book. Don't bother going to class!
Lectures are pointless. Started to sleep through them within the first week, then halfway through the semester I stopped going altogether. Even then I knew just as much as everyone else in the class, because he can't teach worth crap. The only reason to take him is if you are required to by major
probably the worst teacher at UD. don't ever go to class bc/ it's useless. lectures don't make any sense at all.it's like he is speaking a different langauge.get a tuotor for this class bc/ class won't help at all (or just study the textbook). it's a shame that they let this guy teach a cheg course
He is a little confusing, but he means well and is willing to help.
overcomplicates material and confusing at times, but if you pay close attention to what he's talking about, you should get at least a B.
Beware
I don't know where all these other comments are coming from, I think he's great. Sure the accent can get in the way every once in a while, but in general it's not a problem at all. Nice guy, and very helpful.
My god this teacher overcomplicates problems in lecture and habitually skips steps in problems. If you want to follow along with what he is doing you better be able to think fast. His tests are extremely hard and he gets frustrated if people cant understand his ridiculously hard examples. The best thing about this class was the TA, who was awesome.
Gilberto is an extremely funny, nice, and cool guy. But he is also the worst professor at UD, bar none. If you go to his class, you will walk out far more confused than when you came in. Even if you do learn the material, it won't help because his tests have nothing to do with what has been covered. Lenhoff is your only hope for this class.
Make sure you pay attention in class and do the homework.
Very Confusing. Tough Tests. Period. The textbook is more exciting.
very confusing, in class examples dont help with the homework or the tests, he's good guy but can't teach. he also is not good at explaining things in class when u ask him why things happen. the book explains better then he does. i recommend taking another professor if u can
He is a good teacher and there is no doubt about that. He respects the students and he explains the concepts well. He is a lot better than that other math fellow... Darko? He really sucks at teaching
Took 302 over the winter. his teaching method and speed through the material made much more sense than the CHEG305 class (same thing) I'm taking now. Sometimes, you just HAVE to go to office hours. With enough people, he holds an impromptu help session. Exams are fair, sometimes easy. However, does like to use maple to write scripts, so beware.
He loves the material and expects his students to as well. Very difficult class, he wants lots of work out of you. Exams are easier than homeworks but still challenging. He is not the best at answering questions clearly.
Schleiny is a really fun guy. He makes lame jokes, but they're so lame they're funny. He was a fair grader. Do your homework (including the suggested problems) before the exam and you should be fine. The labs are not that bad. They really help you to understand Matlab which you'll need for later courses.
He is a really funny guy, and you can tell he loves math. However, his lectures are very confusing. Usually have to read the textbook to understand material.
Teaching is kind of ineffective, but if you read the book, you will be fine. I would recommend going to class because he's funny and it will help with your understanding. Not the best at answering questions but is very patient. I do think he enjoys teaching. Tests are very simple compared to lectures, webassigns a little harder but they help.
he really likes the subject, but he flies through simpler examples and then asks us to do a MUCH harder problem on our own. 30 seconds later he asks for an answer. his tests require knowledge of trig and other memorization, rather than being ore concept oriented. test are also rushed; do not take if you work more slowly.
Turn your brain off when he starts to derive or prove something; it isn't useful and it will just confuse you most of the time. Other than that, he is a really good professor who could even affect your life philosophy as well, if you let him.
Professor Schleiniger prefers doing a great deal of proofs to illustrate points. Office hours were helpful, but typically contained a few other people as well, so I found it difficult to get all my questions answered. (Bi)weekly homework, moderately tough exams. Overall, he's a kind and patient professor, but this was undoubtedly my hardest class.
Dr. Schleiniger is a good lecturer and shows you how much linear algebra and diff. eq apply to CHEG. However, MATLAB assignments, homework, and tests will consume an enormous chunk of your time. The two semester midterms are fair, but God be with your for the final. Exams co-written with Raymond, the final was out of left field and killed my grade.
Prof Gilberto is an incredible guy; So nice, so kind, and a great teacher. Unfortunately, I feel that he mostly taught to the tests, and expected students to absorb the theory from the textbook. The 2 tests were incredibly easy, and identical to homework problems. The final however, was the most humiliating test Ive taken. Nothing Id seen before.
Schellingen is a great Professor! He's an adorable old man and such a funny guy. This is just a difficult course. He holds his normal office hours as well as additional study sessions. Quizzes and exams are difficult. Labs and homework are very easy. He teaches the class quick, so if you miss class you fall behind. Do practice problems form book.
Prof. Schleiniger is a nice guy, but his lectures are confusing and almost feel like a waste of time. He takes very little time to explain what he's doing and usually goes right into difficult examples. I relied mostly on the textbook and internet for this class. Tests are okay, HWlabs can boost your grade, but quizzes for some reason are tough.
Gilberto is a great guy but the homework and Matlab assignments will take more time than they are worth. Exams were pretty fair but he and Raymond are very hard graders so don't expect to get too much partial credit. He moves pretty fast in my opinion so if you might want to consider Raymond for this class. Both do review sessions before exams.
Professor Schleiniger is the best professor I have had at UD so far. He will do anything it takes to help you understand the material including weekly review sessions. He'll sit with you until every question you have is answered. Homework is pretty tough but extremely relevant to class material. Tests are easy in comparison. Schleiniger is amazing.
Scheiniger is honestly a great guy, just make sure you're ready to work. His homework assignments take a long time and he's pretty tough with grading them. That said, Schleiniger is one of the friendliest professors I've had at UD. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. His scheduled help sessions were great and probably saved my grade.
Professor Schleiniger is a super nice guy and wants everyone to do well. His lectures can be confusing because he jumps between boards and mixes theorems and proofs in the middle of his examples. Midterms were fairly easy but I felt super unprepared for the final given its difficulty.
Honestly probably the nicest teacher I've ever had. He's super approachable and wants everyone to succeed. That being said, his lectures are often unclear, he goes on a lot of mathematical tangents and his notes are disorganized all over the board. He's still a really smart guy but you have to pay close attention because its easy to get lost.
Schleini is the nicest professor I've ever had! The course material is difficult but he does a good job explaining it, and is there for you outside class if you need extra help. Definitely take him!
Intensive content. You will definitely learn a lot provided that you read his note and reflect his lectures very carefully by doing homework problems. Though it is of great difficulty, at least his course does not waste your money on some materials that you probably have learned.
2nd Midterm Nov. 26. Final December 10. Two weeks of time between these two tests. In two weeks, this left us with approx. 5 lectures less than an hour long. So in 5 hours we were lectured all of the content of an entire chapter from the book. We will be tested on this on the final, along with the rest of the course's content. This is too much.
He wrote paragraphs on the board and then wrote the proofs out. Everything he wrote was directly out of the textbook and he could've just assigned the reading. I went to his office hours for help because I didn't understand something and he was no help. When I said I still didn't understand he said well i don't know how else to explain it.
Very nice guy, but not the best teacher. His lectures are proof heavy which dont really help you do problems on homework's or exams. He really wants his students to do well and encourages questions but often times people dont even know what to ask.
He is a very kind and sweet person. But sadly not a good professor. Lectures seem pointless as he goes through long proofs that do not really help you prepare for assignments and exams. Going to lectures feels boring and pointless.
Nice and funny guy, he's a lot of fun to talk to. As a teacher, he's very bad. He's incredibly scatterbrained, making far too many mistakes for lectures to be comprehensible. Homeworks require a lot of computer work, which is useless practice for exams as they don't allow computers. Also, long proofs in lecture don't prepare you for homework.
Prof. Schleiniger is truly a gem. He is one of the kindest, funniest professors I've had. He gives lots of examples in lecture and makes the material easy to understand. He truly cares for his students and their wellbeing. His biggest concern is that his students understand the material and will go out of his way to ensure this.
Kind & sweet man, very passionate about math, tries his hardest to get the concepts absorbed in your system, makes himself very accessible outside of class. Partially due to course material but lecture proofs can get fast at times, although his notes are a fantastic shortcut to the textbook if you miss class. Just beware of frequent online quizzes.
Prof. Schleiniger is great. He's a very caring & helpful instructor and he genuinely wants you to succeed, making himself available as much as possible. With lectures, He does make quite a lot of mistakes during lecture with typos, and some material may be confusing. I would recommend attending his office hours to grasp a tough topic.
Very sweet and caring. Wants to help you suceed and better understand math. Differential is tough but if you go to office hours he will help with homework. He will help by making sure you understand the linear algrebra and algrebra side if you do not understand how he got there. Homeworks are tough. Understand HW makes exams easier.
I actually did not have Gilberto for this course, I had Raymond. I went to one of the review sessions for the second math midterm and he was absolutely amazing. He is such a nice guy. The course itself was manageable and the content wasn't too hard to learn. I would take Gilberto over Raymond, but you can succeed with either professor.
Professor Schleiniger makes lectures very confusing and difficult to understand. You will have to self study for the whole class, TA office hours were helpful but besides that be prepared to learn the content on your own time. Midterms and quizzes are graded harshly.
He's a very sweet person and does offer some help. He would constantly mess up algebra and would make it harder to understand. Grades are dependent on midterms, which are hard to get good scores on unless you fully understand the concepts. I feel like I understood mostly but still ended with a C because of the weirdly difficult formats.
Professor Schleiniger is a really nice guy and a good professor. He truly seems to care about his students and will make an effort to get to know you. He clearly knows the material, but some examples he uses in class are too complicated to be practical. Grading is very fair and exams/quizzes always cover what we learn in class.
