She is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. Professor Abbiate is fun, understanding and teaches you math in ways that get you interested in learning math... for instance she really focuses on teaching how math relates to us in our everyday setting. Tips, gambling, shopping, sales, taxes... ect. If you are scared of math take her!

Gina is amazing! I was so scared. She has a way of teaching that is like no one else. Gina explains Math in a clear and easy fashion. This was the first Math class I've been in since the 70's and as you can imagine I was very apprehensive - I got an A and am now taking my third semester of Math - I just wish she was teaching it!!

Prof. Abbiate is great. She's practical, and teaches only what you need to know. Makes the course as painless and easy as possible. You must go to class or you will do horrible, unless you're a statistician. She will give the lecture, give a few examples, and if you know what you're doing you can go. If not, you can stay and do more examples.

She definately is willing to help whoever needs it. Alot of points are awarded for doing and turning in the homework, so if you don't do too well on the tests you can still receive a good grade in the class. Tests are composed by her and she gives partial credit for even attempting the problems. Overall very good math teacher. Recommended!

Anyone who had a problem with Professor abbiate should probably never take a math class again. Just do your work and copy everything on the board and you should get an A. Me and my buddy competed with each other to see who could get the highest A. I got a 98%, he got a 96%. We both suck at math.

Gina is GREAT! She explains things in a very clear way. She really wants her students to do well and understand what she's teaching. When grading tests, she gives you partial credit for wrong anwsers if she sees that you used the right approach. Doesn't make the exams too hard because simply wants to make sure you know the correct precedure.

Intro to Linear Algebra best teacher to take! I was dreading taking it during the summer and she made it very painless. She teaches math the way students understand it. I promise she is a great teacher, it's the second class I have had her in and I knew I would learn the most from her and have the most fun doing it!

havnt taken a Math class since High School in 2005 but tested into Math 96 on the assesment took me 2 and 1/2 semesters to pass math 96. Without Gina it would have been 3 semesters.. she was an AWESOME teacher! Young, Loving, and very understanding. I highly recommend her! SHES AWESOME

She is extremely caring and looks out for her students She is not a fly by course teacher but if your willing to work you will do fine and Do your homework!

She is very helpful. If you do all your homework and classwork then you can pass this class, even if you do not do so well on test. She is always available to help. You have to be willing to learn. I highly recommend her.

Assigns classwork & homework, homework is on MathXL & you have to pay extra but its only $25 & its for a year. Ends class abt 45 min early so u can work on classwork or ask her questions, or leave. Does test review for abt an hour on exam days, give partial credit, not much book use, if your decent at math you prob don't need it. Would take again.

I have no interest in Applied Calc at all. I just needed to take the class. She said the first night of class that she's here to help you do well and finish the course. She reviews homework problems and does reviews before exams. You can stay after class and she'll answer questions. I think she's a very good professor.

Gina is the best. I loathed Math before this class and had a real anxiety about algebra in particular. I have dropped the class a million times because before her I always got lost. She has helped me conquer my anxiety about math and boost my GPA. You can call or email her anytime, she is always available in class hours and is FAIR! The best!

Great teacher. i have dropped this class the last time I took it because I couldn't keep up while taking a full schedule of other classes. This time it was way easier. We went through the material slowly, got out of class early, and reviewed for every test. lots of partial credit. Do the Homework = get and A

Math has never been my strong subject but Gina is apparently used to catering to students in that same situation. She really loves her job & it shows in her lessons. Attendance isn't mandatory but it's important to get a good grade the class. Homework is done online, classwork in the book. She really just wants YOU to pass. Take her class!

She's a hot professor, one of the best math professors on campus, explains the material as clear as a crystal ball, makes the material easy to understand using her own techniques, and gives extra credit. So you get the package deal! I definitely recommend her to those that are mathematically challenged.:)

Gina treats every student equally, and if students show interests she uses her time to help. I have taken her for two straight semester and I'm incredibly disappointed she's not teaching 96 in the fall. If you hate math, take her, she won't make you love it, but you'll get it. She might not be at Mesa next semester, but instead Southwestern so if your in that area, look her up and take her..

Gina was great! Math is not my thing at all and I always dread the classes. 210B was, dare I say, 'fun' at times and the daily class work broke up the lecture making it super tolerable. Gina is an excellent professor and I wouldn't want to take a math class from anyone else.

If you're paranoid about Algebra, this is the teacher for you. Casual atmosphere, very approachable, uses Math XL. The class moves along at a fast pace, so I recommend you spend time in the tutoring center. As for the final exam, she will tell you exactly what to study for and what score you need to make an A. Great teacher

I absolutely loved Ms.Gina. She was an incredible teacher and was always super helpful. As long as you stay on top of your classwork/hw and get decent gradeson your tests this class will be a complete breeze. She is very laid back; if you stay on top of your work attendance doesnt really matter to her. Take her! You won't regret it :)

Gina made things super easy to understand and be able to replicate the processes used for certain problems. I've always had issues with math and this professor made it so that now when I look at the problems I don't understand why it was so hard for me. TAKE HER CLASS. yes there are tests, and quizzes, just do the HW and you'll be fine.

The class isn't easy; many equations look similar. Therefore it's confusing to some. Mrs. Abbiate makes it easier with her down-to-earth teaching. Due to the high usage of the text the class is always engaging, and everyone checks each others calculations aloud(including hers. She always ensures that students comprehend the work highly recommended.

Prof. G was great at grading and very fair in test, I hate math overall and she made it less complicated for me, she had a very noisy class which I thought was disrespectful but she let them know she meant bussiness I recomend her she a great professor,and a fait one in deed.

Make sure you do ALL the homework on mathXL along with the class work, otherwise you will not pass this class. She is very clear in her lectures and answers everyones questions!

Her class is very easy and straightforward, the tests are similar to what you see on your homework online. She does go over the notes a bit too fast and kind of expects you to know the material already. On the plus side, she gives 30 minutes of class time to answer any question you might have, if you were still confused about the material.

She is by far THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! She explains everything so much better then any teacher. I got an A all because of her! (normally I get C or lower in math) She gives you one point on the exams just for putting an answer down. Show up and pay attention PS don't buy the book, you have to buy the online portal & it comes with the textbook.

I thought Professor Abbiate was very good. She used MyMathLab, which includes the required textbook, so she didn't use the textbook much. The way she explains the concepts was very good and doing the homework really helps your grade in her class. I probably would have done much worse if not for the classwork and homework credit. Take her class!

I have her Math 092 and its HARD but she is a great professor. She is available for office hours if you cant make those she will figure something out with you. She will go over things again and again on the board or one on one. One thing I had a hard time with is the homework is all online I don't do so well with online for math. Don't miss class!

Her rating is well deserved! She's a brilliant math professor, and a nice person. She shows compassion for her students, and really wants you to understand concepts. I ALWAYS struggled with math, now I'm currently passing with flying colors (A-B range). If you get into her class consider yourself lucky! The hype is real!

Being a person that has never been good at math, I have an 88% in the class and says a LOT about professor Abbiate. She explains difficult concepts in a way that can be understood, even by the slowest of learners. I HIGHLY recommend her for Math 92! Prof Abbiate was my favorite professor at Mesa! She is always more than willing to help explain anything you don't understand, and she drops the lowest test grade and project grade at the end of the semester. Doesn't really check the hw, so its easy to just bs it. She is so amazing, and I would totally recommend taking one of her classes!

I have always sucked at math. Took Gina a couple semesters ago for Math 92 and got a high B in her class. Took stats (math 119) this semester with a different professor and aced it. I truly believe that because of Gina, I had a much better understanding of the few algebraic aspects within statistics. Do yourself a favor and take her. :)

I've taken Gina for both math 38 and 92, she's extremely helpful. You must do all online homework and a hefty amount of worksheets outside of class. Yes, it made me want to pull my hair out at times in the end, it's worth it. Gina has high expectations of wanting students to succeed. I look forward to taking her class for fall 2015 semester.

Best algebra teacher I've ever had. She gives online homework( which you have multiple ways to master), she lectures clearly on each subject and gives ample time for one on one time in class where you can ask her personally to go over questions. She is clear, concise, and helpful when needed!

You must take Gina for any math classes. I've taken her for 38,92, and 119. I'm not a genius at math, however, Gina has made the material comprehensive enough for me to grasp. Gina does assigns HW and lab assignments for Stats and you must do in order to pass the class. She's an amazing professor and would recommend her HIGHLY.

Professor Abbiate is an incredible Professor. I am the opposite of a Math person and to be honest, I legitimately despised the subject entering the class but Professor Abbiate made math easy. She gives somewhat a lot of homework but you have plenty of time to complete it. She gives sample exams before the exams and drops the lowest test score.

This class was so much fun. This is not your usual math class so there aren't any hard tests or long formulas. Although that may be, this class isn't an easy A. You really have to pay attention and listen to what she is teaching. This professor is very good at explaining things and she is always available to help. Great class and great professor.

Gina is probably one of the kindest professors I had, Math is not my strongest subject at all and I am doing a pretty good job in her class. She explains topics well and if you have a question she will answer you. She always is making sure that her students are understanding what her lectures are about. Teaching math to future teachers isn't easy, but Ms. Gina made it simple as she could. Definitely helped with not just basic math skills, but gave tips on how to make math easier not just for our students, but us too. Exams are based off lecture, and is patient. 4 exams, and a final.

For anyone who is terrified of Business Calc: take Ms. Gina's class! She is an amazing teacher and all-around great person. She has reasonable expectations for her students and will give you all the tools necessary to get a good grade. You will have to come to class, do the homework, and study (duh) to get an A. I would have hated Calc without her.

For the first time in my life, I got a B in a math class and it was in a friggin calculus class! Would've never thought that would happen. Ms. Gina is there for you and has a way of explaining this subject to where it just clicked in my head. She's very approachable whether by office hours, talking after class, or sending her an email.

Attend her lectures and you'll be good to go. Her lectures are very useful for tests and homework.

She is an amazing professor. She takes time to explain everything and understands that not everyone gets it the first time. She gives a lot of examples to help. Only have a few homework assignments that are due weeks in advance and has 2 point quizzes everyday for attendance. Just do your homework and follow along in lecture and you should be fine.

Prof. Abbiate really wants students to succeed in her course. She gives lots of opportunities (online homework/worksheets/quizzes) other than tests to gain points and help your grade. Her lectures are a little fast-paced, but if you ask questions she'll always stop and answer them. Coming out of this course I feel prepared to move on to Pre-Calc.

She's very passionate about math and cares about her students a lot! The content itself can be a bit difficult and confusing if you're not good at math (I'm not that good) but she does a good job of explaining. Make sure to study for the tests. Homework from textbook and math packet are due before tests but you can do them with a partner!

The class is fun bc you get to work with everyone instead of just sitting there listening to her lecture. she tries to help you as much as she can. This was something I checked, specifically because I have failed the class already twice and this was my last hope. If you show up to class and put in an effort this class should be an easy A for you. Gina makes everything easy to understand and moves at a good pace. The hw is not overwhelming, there is 1 problem quiz each class but they are a basic problem for attendance. She also makes it very clear what type of problems are on tests. TAKE HER if you can!

Took her summer class and had a great time. Never been that great at math but she does a wonderful job explaining the material. Professor Gina is by far one of the best professors at Mesa. She really wants you to understand what you are doing and why you need it for further courses. Mrs. G's an amazing professor - went through every concept carefully and was patient with everyone who had questions. Lecture typically contained a worksheet completed by the prof to demonstrate the concept. Lot of homework/practice was offered but it's expected with a 5 unit class. Very doable and great class.

BEST PROF...

Her class is relatively straight forward. She posts weekly videos and textbook reading to reference what you will learn for the week. No exams, just 5 quizzes online that you can use notes and other software like Desmos. Also pretty laid back, just do the homework and you will guaranteed get 100% on all of them.

Ms. Gina cared so much about her students and their well-being! She was always there giving me advice on the next steps to take in my education and always happy to meet in a Zoom meeting to help with anything math-related. She clearly explains all of the principles and provides copious examples. There were 4 tests and classwork every class.

Sometimes hard to know where you're deficient w regard to exams when looking at HW & study guides. imo nothing on the exam should look unfamiliar/require steps not made familiar w HW & study guide. this was sometimes the issue

Great and caring professor! In lecture, she will give you set or problems that you will work as a group. She is not a tough grader and gives you points on solution if you did not get the exact answer. I just wish her class is more organized and there is explanation on what is the lecture is about rather than going straight to problem solving.

She teach a bit fast but you can catch up by come to office hours on zoom or in class. She tried her best to help you past class

4 main exams, that is the majority of your grades. Along with homework every day you have her (I had TTH class). Homework is done during class, anything else is done at home. No need to do practice problems, sample exams are given, sample exam is exactly like the exams. Keep up with the class and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Professor Abbiate is amazing, I had a great time and she teaches well. Yes, she gives pop quizzes but if you're paying attention in class you're fine, they are easy one-problem quizzes and you can retake them! she answers yes/no questions during exams. Told her I didn't feel prepared during an exam, and let me retake it, take her you won't regret!

LOVED this professor. She is the most caring math professor I have ever had. She really wants her students to succeed and learn the material. Lectures can be very hard to understand and can get very confusing but she is always open to questions so being present and participating is crucial. Don't be afraid to talk to her about anything!

Overall very fair and understanding. Weekly quizzes able to be retaken. 2 tests plus final. Option to retake 1 test during finals. Form a study group early. She lectures for 1st hour, rest of time spent on classwork with peers. Don't hesitate to ask questions!

Mrs.Gina is a great teacher. I had her for both math 104 and math 144 and overall if you put in the effort, you will succeed. quizzes every week or every other week. Unlimited retakes on quizzes. all assignments due at the end of the class (but don't wait until the last minute or it will be stressful). If you show up to class, she will help you out

Not the worst, but not for me. If you are a student that needs clear explanations and are a note taker that likes lectures, skip this class. She barely lectures and is more of a hands on "do it yourself and ask questions" teacher, which does not work for me at all. LOTS of quizzes that make up most of the grade. Retake policy is reasonable

It is important to have a professor that cares for everyone. And Gina does. She is a gem. math needs work regardless the professor but she will make you want to do well.

Prof. Abbiate's class is very collaborative. She wants the whole class to work together to learn by doing classwork problems. She only lectures for half of the class and gives a lot of resources to help you practice outside of class. Her precalc has mandatory homework and no exams but her calc does not have HW but has exams. Her class fills FAST.

Gina really engages with the class when she teaches. I took her as a summer class so it was all crammed and she still did an amazing job. She was very thorough with everything she taught and is very nice. She is an amazing teacher who cares about her students. There is nothing more you could ask for out of a professor.

I took Gina's precalc class over summer. A lot of your reflected performance in her class is from whether you can master the content well. The practices she assigned were the best way of grasping the content better and build understanding. The lectures can be confusing and difficult to understand if you didn't take a look at the content beforehand.

Showed us what we needed to know, very easy grader, but encourages students to try hard. Only downside is I wish we could've gone more in depth, but this may be due to taking her in summer. Love the tricks she shows on calculators. If you do bare minimum you may pass this class but you'll fail later classes. Don't take advantage of her niceness.

Her Calc 1 class is very good, she is an amazing lecturer and she will always answer questions, no matter how dumb they may be. She is very patient and for Calc 1 I really recommend her since she allows for retakes on quizzes and sometimes even the tests. Really easy to keep a high grade in her class as long as you do the assignments.

Mrs. Gina is a dedicated professor who truly cares about her students' success. This course is hard, there are weekly quizzes, and 3 exams, but she allows retakes on the quizzes (which is rare for higher level math courses). She becomes frustrated after explaining topics multiple times, but it comes from a nice place, practicing the material is key

This class was kind of challenging because there is a quiz every week on a new topic. However, they're really not at all bad if you stay on top of studying and show up to class. It really helped me not procrastinate. She does not allow quiz retakes and does not drop your lowest exam anymore, though. Overall a very rewarding class. Great lectures.

Professor Gina made calc 2 very doable. To preface, I got a C in calc one, I am by no means a natural when it comes to math. Gina gave good lectures, and encouraged you to learn the material with other students. She is very clear and fair with what she says is going to be on exams. Gives pretty generous partial credit. Take her class!

I don't understand these ratings. Professor Abbiate is an amazing instructor. Cares about your learning, grades quickly, wants you to do better as a STEM major, and is a very smart cookie. I am taking her for Linear Algebra and she is top notch! Yeah, she will call you out if you are slacking but it means she believes in you. She got you!

Gina is one of the best math professors. She genuinely wants you to learn the material and provides free resources to do so (online math textbook, delta math for hw; both decent). The class is well structured and her grading criteria is very clear. She's also a very generous grader. Ask lots of questions if you're stuck. She wants you to learn!
