Professor Firenzi makes class fun. Her method of teaching is providing theory with hands on learning experience. She has a witty sense of humor and occasionally trips while walking into the class which is hystaricle. She is very knowledgeable in the subject an knows a lot about pop culture.

Prof Firenzi's class is enjoyable to attend because we always get to work in groups. You can tell she likes teaching! She always is telling jokes. Take her class!

Professor Firenzi is one of the best profs I have had in college so far. She has a great sense of humor and makes even boring topics fun. She has tons of great class exercises and group activities so students are never bored. She is quirky in a good way and cares about her students. I highly recommend her class.

Professor Firenzi is fantastic. Class is interesting and fun. We role played several legal situations including a mock trial. Everyone had an opportunity to participate. We learned to write several types of legal documents. She is extremely fair with grading. She lectures and then we apply the rules to our work. Clear about what she expects.

she is awesome! makes cass a lot of fun and its easy to pay attention cuz shes pretty cute. Just go to class and you will learn everythng you need to know, she is a very fair grader and it is not difficult to get a good grade.

Comm 147 was one of my favorite classes at SJSU!! You need to take this class if you are at all interested in law. You will learn a lot and enjoy going to class.

Professor Firenzi is a really great teacher, engages the students and makes boring topics fun. Crystal clear on all her explanations and clearly labels what you need to do to get a good grade. Professor Firenzi is a very sarcastic yet funny person. She makes lecture quick so that you can get out of class early. The content of the class was boring but she made it so that it wasn't so much. Group projects were easy. She explains assignments clearly and expects you to do well. Tests were easy if you study and took good notes. Got a B+

Easy class, as long as you study the notes and read the chapter you'll ace tests. Essays are easy as long as you follow format. Got out early of every class and she canceled classes. Engaging, very funny and definitely relates and connects to students well.

Can't believe i'm graduating, that means i don't get to take anymore of her classes. I loved each class I took with her, so much fun and I learned more than any other class I took. She is a very effective professor, I don't think anyone else could make such an impact. If you want a great professor and a fun class, then take her!

Fun Class. You actually will like going to class. You learn a lot about the media and how it is dishonest. Highly recommend this class for Critical Thinking GE.

Im taking her right now and the class is so much fun. Has a interesting way of teaching and you see new things. She seems to like writing and cares about student success.

Prof Firenzi expects students to do there work and come to class. If you do that then you will do well. She is direct about what she wants on papers and exams. You just have to do your work and she will like you. She has a great energy so you will like going to class. Very funny too.

Not a bad 100W class. I was nervous at the beginning because I heard 100w was lots of work but it was alright. just did my work and will prob get a b. Class is entertaining. Firenzi makes it fun

Didn't overwhelm us with papers every single class. She is a younger teacher and entertaining. Get the reader, you'll need it. The other book was only for one group project and I'm sure you can find someone in your group that has it. Easy class to pass but she doesn't hand out A's easily. A couple presentations along with the papers but easy.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She has to be one of my favorite professors at SJSU she is so funny and really knows what she is talking about. Loved going to class but, that didn't mean it was easy. Papers are key be detailed and know what you're talking about & get the reader! Midterms and Finals are easy just pay attention and, u'll do fine in this class!!!!

Firenzi is awesome! She is young, quirky, and easy going. This class was super easy and for it being comm it actually didn't feel like there was that much writing. 2 group projects but they were cake. Take her for sure!

If people complain about this teacher its because they don't like to do their own work. Firenzi makes you think and write a lot but in the end you will learn a lot. She gives you back what you put in to the class and doesnt like people who dont go to class or want to do work.

Gina is great, Lots of fun in the classroom. Her humor isn't for everyone but she keeps you in stitches the entire class. But dont let this distract you that you have to work to get good grades in her classes. She is dedicated to her craft, she does moot court that is a blast I highly recommend taking the extra unit. The best Comm. professor at SJSU. All her classes are well organized, always follows the syllabus, makes communication easy for office hours and assignments. Great sense of humor and ready and willing to help students succeed. Take as many classes with her as you can! :)

Took Comm 41 with her last summer and then took her again in fall for public speaking. Love her classes. Makes being in summer school not a horrible experience. She does something different all the time in class so you never get bored. TAKE HER CLASS!

I agree with the earlier statements. She is the best Comm professor! Her classes are hard, but you learn a lot and its interesting. She treats you like an adult and expects you to come to class and do your work. I loved this class!!!

SHE IS AMAZIN. I have taken Firanzi for both COmm147p and COmm145I and I cannot get enough of her classes. She is extremly helpful and hilarious. I actually look war to coming to her classes. She does not accept tardiness, be on time, participate and she will definatly remember you. Take her!!!

My favorite thing about her is that she refuses to babysit her students. She will treat you like an adult and expects you be responsible like one. She is funny, knowledgeable, responsive to questions, and fair in her grading. Take her for as many classes as you can!

AMAZING TEACHER! FUN AND EASY AND YOU ACTUALLY LEARN! not much homework :)except for the major assignments of course, make sure you have the book and study and do the readings before the midterms and you will pass easily. she always responds to emails and answers questions. very clear and easy class. Gina is a fantastic teacher. She teaches courses in a relevant and entertaining manner. She is incredibly easy to talk to, and is always around to field questions. She has high expectation of her students, and wants everyone to succeed. However she will not babysit you. Be prepared every time you attend class and never ever be late.

I loved this class. Firenzi is awesome! Such a great sense of humor and makes going to class enjoyable. We read articles online instead of a book which was so much better, and in class you watch modern-day films that are fun to watch and discussions are clear and easy to understand. Great professor, great class.

Need to go to class regularly and always be on time. You will learn so much from Firenzi. She makes class interesting and I think she is probably the best Comm professor at SJSU. Take any class you can with her.

I loved Comm 41...this is a great interactive class. We get to work in groups on a lot of in class work and we have really great discussions so class is never boring. TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN!!

A super fun/quirky professor! Very reasonable about classwork, no need for the textbook (just buy the course reader), reasonable exams with no surprises and clear instructions for projects. Very little homework and she tries to keep things interesting in class! Gives you the option of group or individual work. Take her class, you won't regret it.

She's too cool to be a law professor. You'd have to be crazy to not like Gina. She's helpful and funny while teaching a difficult and serious subject. Really hope I get to take at least one more of her classes. There's a good reason why all of her classes fill up so quickly.

Best Comm Professor at SJSU! You have to take as many classes with her as possible. You will learn so much and she makes the class enjoyable. I love the discussions we have. Hard to get her classes because she is popular but its worth it.

She is very lenient. However, her online course is completely independent and she does not lecture through power points or videos. So you have to read textbook and modules posted online in order to study for the exams. This is critical thinking of course...

I took Prof G's online class this summer....she is clear about her expectations and will answer any questions you have. She is really funny so I wish I could have had her in person.

Took her legal argument class last year and now I am graduating. This was my favorite class at SJSU. Learn a lot and my writing improved in my other classes as well. Try to take at least one Firenzi class while you are at SJSU.

I took her online Comm 145I. The class was great. Gina is always willing to help. She is funny even in emails. I would always write her about movie recommendations. She always cares about her students success and is very organized.

Dr. Firenzi is amazing, it is so refreshing that this university employees a youthful professor who is highly motivated and encouraging to all her students. She is a bit hard but if you do the work come to class she will like you and help you a lot more.

It was different to see Firenzi outside of law/ethics classes. She focuses on film, writing and pop culture in 145. Still, as stated below, she is the department's best professor. She hates late people. Don't be late and you'll enjoy being in her presence. Really happy that she's at SJSU.

Reading the other posts I completely agree that Firenzi is the best professor at this school. She is so funny. She will talk to you about things other than course work like baseball…oh year did I mention she is funny? Someone needs to hire her to do stand-up comedy.

I took her online public speaking class. I put this class off until my senior year and I am happy that I did. Prof Firenzi was so helpful and even though it is online we still meet virtually to give our speeches. I am still in contact with some of the students from the class which is rare for online. Take this if they offer it again with Firenzi.

Good class. She does respect students who turn in assignments on time. Assignments are interesting and not much work if you read directions. Learned a lot.

I took Prof Firenzi last semester for COMM 145I and COMM 147P and I enjoyed each course. The writing workload for COMM 145I is not bad and easily manageable and most importantly, she does a great job of incorporating recent shows like The Office and 30 Rock into our curriculum. She is also very helpful as long as you phrase your question correctly.

Take this professor for your Communication Inquiry classes!! This is seriously one of the best/easiest/informative/ amazing professor on campus. If you have to take an Inquiry class take Comm145I. This class is fun, and easy to write about during your assignments. This teacher is lenient with grading as is a quick grader, and replies ASAP. A+

Awesome class that can help you work on your resume, cover letter and job interview skills and the teacher provides great feedback on the matter. Average amount of work for an online class. Only used the text book twice. I plan on taking this teacher again.

There is a lot of writing but its a writing class. The assignments were enjoyable. I liked the topics. She is quick to grade and clear with grades.

This has to be hands down the best communications teacher I have ever had. She is fun, helpful, great with class discussions and responds super fast when emailed. She wants you to succeed, and it shows. I would say if you're looking for a solid com class shes the one professor to go with!

A great to take if you need to take any COMM studies courses. Easy to get an "A"

Took her for asynchronous summer class. 5 weeks we did canvas reading responses, 2 essays, blogs, 2 quizzes, module work, & exam at the end. Assignments were due every Tues/Thurs @ 10AM. Some of the criteria seemed a bit vague for the assignments, but she responds to emails quickly. The class was manageable and I enjoyed the content.

This class consisted of 5 online discussions, 5 problem set and reflection assignments, 2 quizzes, & three engagement assignments (topic choice worksheet, literature review, & final paper). You had the option of writing a paper on pop culture theory or dominant ideologies. Take her for your inquiry courses

I really enjoyed her class. Every assignment was very straightforward and she really wanted us to learn and retain the important concepts. She gives great feedback that you can use in future assignments and quizzes. Overall, she made the class a great space.

Professor Firenzi is one of the best teachers in the communications department. I found her feedback to be extremely helpful and she has a clear grading criteria. Never hesitate to reach out to her, she is always there to lend assistance. Definitely recommend anyone struggling to find an inquiry course to take her class!

Easy class to follow along. It is a little writing heavy but its upper division. Firenzi is very helpful. She wants you to do well. Answered all my questions. Weekly assignments due every Thursday. Start them early in case you have questions.

I liked having Gina for COMM 111P. The directions for her assignments were pretty clear, and her classes were engaging too. I never got bored in her class, and had fun overall during the semester.

You will learn to interview someone in the field you want to pursue, interview someone for their oral history, write a resume, and record yourself doing a practice interview. The tough part was coming up with follow up questions for the main interview questions. She is very particular about how she wants things done. She will give you feedback.

If you like to write then you will like this class. She isn't critical of specific technical writing. She responds to emails quickly. Where people write she isn't nice, I think it is just because she wants to get you information quickly. She always responds and always has an answer.

Fairly straightforward Comm class. She knows how to teach online. Each week consistent deadline and workload. Instructions were clear. No problems.
