Mrs. Flowers is a good teacher. Her class is easier than an AP class for sure. She's very particular about her essay but she isnt that hard.

This is a great class, and Mrs. Flowers is a phenomenal professor. If writing isn't your strength, it will be after you take English 1101 with Mrs. Flowers.

She grades really hard on essays but only because she actually wants you to learn how to write. Her quizzes are directly from what you read in the book or from the project presentations and they are open notes so they are kind of a free grade. She also gives you a 100 just for doing the mycomplabs.

It is hard class but you will never regret to take her class! She really cares every students and you are able to learn how to write an essay ! Highly recommend !!!

Mrs. Flowers is super nice and really makes what's supposed to be a boring class interesting..she lets you bring food for projects!! The quizes are all very easy..they are open note, but she does grade kind of hard, but it is composition. The one thing that really bugged me, howeve, was her slowness at grading. other than that she is really nice.

GREAT TEACHER! Very informative and extremely sweet. Knows her material. Very leneint on grading. NO tests. Couple pop quizzes. Extra credit. DAILY ASSIGNMENTS, reqires lots of writing. But being an ENGLISH class, that should be expected. The assignments counts for a minimal 5% and help your GPA. Not a fan of Lit, but she made it very easy and fun.

Mrs. Flowers i s really friendly and helpful, if you have a problem or a question you can always ask her and she will help you. You only have about one major paper in the class. There are powerpoint presentations but they are fun. If you send her an email she usually responses in 30 minutes or less. Take her you are going to love her class.

Took the Summer half-term class. Overall it was an easy class, but the summer class was a bit difficult. Due to taking a half-term class, everything was crammed into a 3 week period. Other than that, loved the teacher, would have taken her for all my English classes if I could have.

Had Mrs Flowers for half-term summer class. Yes it was a crammed course, but she made it so that anybody could get an A and learn as she filled the course with interesting facts.. You learn, enjoy the class and get an A. I had a B (87 and 88 with no curves) with previous English teachers and finally my well deserved A. Best English teacher at GPC

Professor Flowers has a rubric guide. If the student fully understand the rubric, then the student would get good grades. Also Professor Flowers always ready to help her students, and she anwers students questions ASAP.

Her teaching is great - very clear and informative. Classwork is pretty minimal yet easy. Only a couple quiz and daily work. Mostly essays (about 4 arguemenative, informative, research, and one other one). You will more than likely to pass the class.The only professor i recommend for english 1101 on this campus.

I took her for English 1102. She is a huful teacher. Her class is fairly easy, but she tends to give a lot of work that is due of the same day. She clamis you can only miss 5 days, but I don't think she will hold you to that. She is a good teacher ,and she seems to love teacher.

I enjoyed this class for the most part. The content was fairly easy but there was a lot of writing. I do not particularly enjoy writing so that was annoying but my teacher was very helpful and responsive!

I took Mrs. Flowers' class as a Dual Enrollment student and loved it. It was challenging but never super stressful. Most assignments were interesting and helpful. I would take this class again.

The class was good, work wasn't too strenuous. Graded very tough when it came to essays even rough drafts. She gave lots of opportunities to get one point towards your grade through extra credit assignment .

Shes awesome!! Not many tests and gives extra credit, but you have to work to get the A. If you do the homework and put work into it, you will get the A easily

She improved my writing skills immensely.

I enjoyed Mrs. Flower's class a lot. She is a big help whenever you need it and she actually cares about you and how you're doing.

It is not a super tough class, but a few grades can make or break you if you decide to slack off. She will help you if you make the effort to stay after class and ask, but otherwise she does not give much feedback when grading. The class is organized and you always know what assignments are coming up.

The class was pretty easy, which is good. I learned how to better my essays by using specific formats (compare and contrast and argumentative mostly).

I enjoyed the class, but felt that time in class could have been utilized better. Overall, Mrs. Flowers is a good professor and very very helpful and understanding. She's great and the class is not too bad either.

I thought her feedback was very helpful. Her comments on outlines and rough drafts were honest and critical. They really showed whether or not I was headed in the right direction on my paper. I enjoyed the mini projects that related to the criteria, but were also creative.

Very helpful when needed, but every once in a while had to ask the questions for the clarification that wasn't given in the original explanation. Grading scale confused me at first but she explained well. Seems to be a decently tough grader which can be a positive for your next paper but a negative for your grade. Overall fun class this semester!

Mrs. Flowers is AMAZING!! She doesn't try to overload you with a bunch of reading, instead she assigns certain pages to be read for discussion in class. The calendar on iCollege is very clear and is explained on Day 1. I was not interested in AM LIT until I had Mrs. Flowers. She explains things in such a manner that they are easily understood!!!!!

She is a nice lady. I loved her class. She gave us research paper that took a lot of my time and was the hard part of her class, but I learned so many things there.

Prof. Flowers makes her class for interactive. She is easy to talk to and gives you the tools to succeed. She allows open note quizzes as long as you are not trying to use the textbook. She made me love English Lit. without the overbearing papers I had to write after ever class during English Lit 1101.

She will always make you read from the text and hold discussions on it the next class. Lots of papers but she will help you.

Excellent teacher! She cares about your grade and your performance in her class. As a student with learning/writing disabilities, she works with you. You will learn to write a research paper & how to write a college grade paper. I am taking her ENGL 1102 class next semester, and I can't wait! The textbook is online so do not buy recommended one.

Solid teacher that's not super strict but not super chill. Class is basically writing papers all semester, 4 or 5 total. Daily work due every Thursday before class starts on iCollege. Research paper at end of semester that's challenging. Only homework is working on essays and daily work. Recommend tho.

Although she may be a tough grader, she tells you beforehand what she expects from you. She cares about every single individual in the class. Stop by her office because she will help you! Your writing skills will improve greatly . Overall she is a magnificent teacher.

She was amazing! I feel like a much better writer having taken her 1101 class. She was kind of tough, but she gave us lots of good feedback on our essays and was more than willing to explain/go more in depth about her comments and how we could fix them. Funny, too. I really enjoyed English 1101 with Professor Flowers! I could always email her with a problem and get a quick and helpful reply. I am very glad I had her for my first college class as she really knew how to help me integrate into the different schedule and work load of college. She also had us do essays of varying content and requirements.

Not very difficult but most of your grade depends on the grade you get on your papers. The other assignments do not count for much.

The class was fun and interesting. Everyone was involved in every activity. Grading was a little harsh though.

She grades somewhat harshly and give grades on an plus/ minus system, so if you want an A you can't just squeeze by, you'll have to work for it!

I ended up studying things that didn't come up and seeing things I wouldn't have thought to study. That's a problem. Somewhat challenging class. Don't expect an easy A.

She's a great teacher, very engaging. The coursework isn't hard. As long as you come to class you'll be alright. The papers are the only challenging part of the class, but she gives ample opportunities to discuss your ideas with her and provides helpful feedback throughout the process. Definitely recommend!!

Professor Flowers is like a mom. She is tough, but realizes when you have worked really hard. If you do not understand something and ask her, she will explain very thoroughly and respectfully. She is VERY approachable! Highly recommend and would take again!!!

Mrs. Flowers was a great teacher. She had a sense of humor, but was very professional as well. She's very clear on iCollege about what assignments are due when, and what we are working on on what day. When we have essays, we work through them gradually and get tips and feedback along the way.

Professor Flowers knows how to make the class fun and interactive. There wasn't a lot of homework either. There are essays, but no more than any literature class. As long as you keep up with iCollege and do what you are supposed to do, you will pass! I would highly recommend that people take her class :)

Professor Flowers is extremely helpful in and out of class. She makes herself very available throughout the week and is easy to talk to. She makes a great effort to get to know her students as well as their writing styles. Always there for encouragement and feedback and is very understanding.

Professor Flowers was very helpful throughout the course. I genuinely believe that her class helped to improve my writing. While she was tough, it was a challenge to try harder, her grading was not too harsh where I could not get an 'A' but you do have to work for it.

Felt as if a lot of assignments/activities were more or so busy work as opposed to being very relevant. Without those, class would have been very short. I did improve on essay related skills, which was my biggest take away from the semester.

Ms. Flower's class was very good overall. Throughout this class, I felt like I grew as a writer and allowed me to learn while making class and projects engaging and fun.

I personally don't like English, so this wasn't my favorite class. However, I never really dreaded going to this class. It isn't too difficult nor too easy. You just have to get your work done. I would definitely get feedback on your rough drafts before you turn in your paper. It will make a big difference on your essay grades.

Compared to some of the other teachers in her department that teach the same class, I have heard the Mrs. Flowers is definitely one of the harder ones. After taking her class, I do not necessarily agree with those rumors. Her class requires work, but it is work that only makes you a stronger writer and student. She cares about her job and it shows.
