One of the best teachers I've had at Delta. Challenging but if you READ, you will get an A.
She teaches very well and makes the class very interesting. I would definately recommend to my friends. Very educational class, not to difficult pretty straight forward. If you listen and attend class you will do well. A++++++++++ she's a great teacher
This teacher is unrealistic. I didn't like big red at all. She is very boring and those other people that said she was a good teacher are so wrong.
I don't think I'm a very good judge of how interesting this class was because I hate geology, but overall it wasn't that bad

Very good instructor. She is strict and challenging and that is good. More teachers need to be like her. You just need to go to every class and on time and study and you will do well. She is a nice lady too.
if you really want to be challenged and have no life you should take her class but really this teacher gets irritated easily and doesnt like answering questions more than . If you just need a physical science lab to transfer. Please take another class. its not worth it to find this out on your own.
Dr. Frost is very interesting. If you come to class prepared to learn, she is very helpful. If you come to class to socialize or sleep she's on you like white on rice. She will make you aware of her presence if you are messsing around. This is definately a class for students who enjoy a challenge. This is not for slackers.

You HAVE to study for the quizzes because it is not common knowledge stuff. She takes a lot from her lecture notes, but it is A LOT OF INFORMATION. I learned a lot, but also had to study A LOT. She made it interesting, but didn't curve grades... you definately have to earn your grade!

I took this class because I thought geology would be easy. The subject is easy, but dr. frost is a hard teacher who isn't here to waste the student's time. I got an 89%, but that was basically my fault. I missed a couple quizes, and slacked on the homework. study hard and you'll get an "A". She made some insulting remarks about me though.

Not an easy teacher. Lots of work, lots of tests/quizzes. Only take if you are planning to put in the work. Very knowledgable (Phd). Take if interested in science.
Dr.Frost is awesome! She's very intelligent and personable. She knows her material well and is very willing to give you extra help. She treats you like an adult.Yes, if you are late, you ARE counted absent. So don't be late! The tests are hard sometimes, but not so bad if you study. So study! It's hard work, but it feels so great to earn that A!!
The class isn't bad at all- you just have to STUDY! Her tests can be difficult, but just review class notes, read the book, & go to the publisher's website, which is VERY helpful when studying for tests. At first I was overwhelmed by the tests, but they get MUCH easier as class goes on & you get to drop a low test score. Just stick it out & study!
where do i begin with this woman... it is sooo weird like i so liked this class in the beginning but i got tired of it bcuz there are JUST TOO MUCH TO DO. just dont take this class. it is beyond your immagination of "lots of work" i was only taking 7 units and i was busier than when i was taking 15
ok ok, well shes not an EASY teacher at all. shes very intelligent, but sometimes i just felt that she assumes that you know everything about geology!!i had to study a lot to pass the class, but as long as you are there everyday, do well on the lab quizes, which are really easy, and ask for help!!
Her worst problem is she makes dozens of mistakes and never owns up to them. She will write bad test questions and then tell us its our fault for not understanding. Shes the kind of teacher who makes you feel like there is no point in doing the work which she never explains and then gives you less then half credit for. I say find another class!
This is the hardest class I have ever taken. I have never worked so hard in a class and gotten so little out of the effort. Great teacher but she expects a lot out of her students. Very interesting material and Frost is very nice, makes an effort to know students on first name basis. Very challenging class.
Boring teacher, hard to pay attention to. She speaks so slowly it irritated me all semester! She is very smart and knows what she is talking about. She tries to help students as much as she can. Read the book & go to the publishers website to study for tests.I got an A but she made me work for it.
The class itself goes by slowly but she is a good teacher. She knows what she is talking about and her lectures are very helpful on the tests. The tests are taken directly from the publisher of the book's website. If you study the tests on the website that she provides, you will receive an easy A. The book is used for almost all assignments.
She is dependent on her powerpoints, which can be good since she posts them for download (but can take forever on dial-up). She also relies on the Internet so you'll have to find all sorts of stuff on it. There is an incredible amount of work to do for a lower division course and its impossible to get a perfect on anything, she makes errors.
If you're into this subject, this is the perfect prof. for you. Dr. Frost is very knowledgeable and helpful. If like me you are just looking to meet a requirement, KEEP GOING! This class was very tough, there was lots of time consuming homework and very detailed tests.
I urge you to not bother. I have recently taken this class and it is just plain rediculous. She is a dr and expects you to have one too! Ive never had a class that took so much of my time. I put in the time, and still won't pass. This is the hardest class ever. I did learn a ton;a failing grade doesn't reveal that. Unless you are a geologist, AVOID
WORST teacher i have ever had in my life. i went to class every day, studied hours and hours for the tests, did all of my homework (HOMEWORK is ridiculous in the class too... hours of work for only 2o pts if you get one answer wrong there goes ur hw grade) andi still failed. learned alot but failed the whole classsss

Two words: don't bother. You will not get an A in this class. 2 hours of excrutiatingly long lecture, plus a boring lab, twice a week! Her grading sucks as well; HW is worth next to nothing, and the lab & lecture exams are 70% of your grade. My class began with 30+ students and is down to 10. Take another lab science, nothing can be worse than this
She has by far been the worst teacher ive had at Delta. You can work your butt off to finish the hw but if its not EXACTLY how she wants you wont even get partial credit, so all that work for nothing. There are no study guides, she doesnt even really help you and expects you to kno everything on an exam that spans 5+ chapters. And if you are only 2

If you go to her office to seek help all you get it a teacher who beats around the bush and never answers your questions. Tests are EXTREMELY HARD! She never tells you whats on the test. There are always trick questions.
Take this class only if you must. Frost shows no mercy, and will take no prisoners. expect 1/2 the class to be gone come finals... field trips are cool..
Be warned, this class is not easy in any way. She wants you to fail and she wont help you in anyway. On the plus side i really did learn a lot.
The worst teacher I have ever had at Delta. She flies thru her lectures as the class sits with blank looks on their faces. She is SO boring and should not be teaching. Over 50% of the class would fail the tests and like one person would get an A on it. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

This professor needs to be reminded that this is a INTRO to geology class. Not a full on Geology class. She is not helpful when questions are asked and does not give out study guides. She gives her students really no clue on whats on tests. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Not only is this class incredibly hard, but i have never been treated so badly as this women treated me. She doesnt deserve a job.
Yes the class is challenging, yes the tests are difficult, yes the homework is worth little credit-wise yet still time-consuming. BUT, the hmwk is to help a)guide your reading and learning, and b)get you ready for the test. Study, pay attention, don't be late, and don't worry about taking copious notes, all test info on hmwk and in book.
Im not sure this professor likes to help her students. I went to her for help a few times, and she acually wouldnt help me. Hard class too.
The worst class I've ever taken in my entire life. I should have dropped it! I was fairly interested in Geology at the time, but not after that class. Horrible lectures and she won't answer questions. The Lab work is really difficult. She'll ask you to memorize chemical compositions. Because of her, I never want to look at a rock again!

She is definitely not the nicest person. It really feels like you have to walk on egg shells to get any help from her. If you come across like a student who doesn't know the subject matter, you will get reamed and she won't answer your questions. I suggest showing her that you pay attention in class if you want answers to any questions.

Professor Frost is a really good teacher and knows her geology/oceanography. This class requires a high amount of effort and attention on your end, and she expects a lot from her students. If you do the HW/study online, you can pass. She also posts all of the power points online for student access which is nice because she talks fast in class...
Professor Frost is a great teacher, but I don't know how anyone would have a grade higher than a C. The tests are hard, and the wording of the questions can be quite tricky.

She is merciless. Lectures aren't so bad, but she wants everything you do to be perfect. Expect no extensions, make ups, or curving. Class average seemed to be a D. Be prepared to make this the focus of your semester. She believes you should spend 6 hours a week in class and 6 on homework (for a 4 unit class) and will make sure you do that or fail.
I have never had a professor so eminently dislikable, unenthusiastic, uncompromising, and bitter as Professor Frost. Her class made me strongly consider changing my science major.
In all honesty, she's a nice lady but her class is HARD. If you usually slack in your classes, avoid this class. It's comparable to Chemistry or Physics. Seriously. Work hard, study harder, pray, and talk to her about how to study for her tests, because otherwise, YOU WILL FAIL.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!. This teacher is super hard. By the end of the term there were 6 students left and taking the final. Thats saying a lot. She doesn't care if you pass or not. If your answers are not exactly what she wanted than you more than likely get it wrong. If you want to take a science class take something else. Way to hard!
A pretty challenging class I must say. If the class as a whole doesn't do the homework, she'll be sure to add that on the test. Homework is weighted waaaaay too little with your whole grade depending on the tests. A "C" is a very hard challeng in this class. *NOT* Recommended, unless you understand Geology inside and out.
This is an extremely hard class for a 3 unit basic earth science. Professor is knowledgable, lectures are dry, lots of time consuming homework, exams are very, very, difficult. Would not recommend this class to anyone unless you have to take it. More than 80% of the class dropped and she's not very personable. Do all homework and study like hell!
She's a terrible professor. I honestly believe no one in the class understood her teaching methods. Everyone that sat around me received terrible grades on the tests. Her tests were extremely hard. They had no correlation with the work that we learned in class. Alot of work online as well as in the text book. Over all bad teacher.

I am a hard working student, attended every lecture, school trip or online class and still failed. We had study groups and still failed. I went to office hours and it seems like she rather us learn on our own or through a tutor who doesn't relate the material properly. Do Not Take This Class it will drop ur Gpa

Everything in life is not suppose to easy, and this class is no exception. Dr.Frost knows her material well and wants her students to digest what she teaches and be able to explain how geology works and why from our own thinking and not memorization. I appreciate her caring enough to push her students to excellence!
This class was easily the hardest class I took at Delta. I took it online, looking for an easy GE physical science class and definitely received a rude awakening. Be prepared to devote a large part of your week doing assignment after assignment for her. Also had to go on campus once a month on a Saturday for exams. Take at your own risk!
She is a very nice lady. The class itself is difficult. However if you put time into reading, studying and doing your assignments, you will do fine. I passed this class with a B. She is very helpful and is willing to stay after to help clarify anything which is also good.
She is amazing Mrs.Frost you are doing a great job she was super helpful if you had questions and took the time to stop by her office she definately will go the extra mile for you. She is extremely smat and many times I found myself getting excited about random things
I am not sure what this instructor is paid for she uses all materials from the publisher and reads the powerpoints to you when I ask for help she tells you to read the material and refer to the syllibus I did that and not helpful got to the point where I stopped caring and I love school and am generally a straight A student.

Lets start off by saying it is impossible for one to pass anything with more than a C. Studying for weeks only to still fail the tests. Information thats NOT even in the book is on the tests. I honestly would not have taken this class if I say these reviews before I enrolled. The class went from 30 something students to close to 8.
Would not recommend this class for people just wanting to take a GE class. Tests are super hard, barely even relate to her powerpoints. Don't know how many people are passing this class. Straight lecture whole time. Student-Athletes should avoid taking this course. If you like reading and extra work, this class is for you.
Worst class ever, and this professor is not helpful nor clear. I am an A/B student, and this is THE only class I have ever took a W in, in my 80+ units of college. I do not recommend this class for anybody.
Her Highness Gina Frost was the hardest teacher Ive ever taken. She was tougher than an Ivy league college teacher. Mam is passionate about geology but at the same time she forgets that she is a teacher not a rock or a volcano. She seemed overwhelmed with classes and work so much so that she didn't care much about students understanding.

Very very hard. I already failed her earth science class but I think I slacked. I love the ocean so I thought what the heck. When you finally start to learn it, it's really rewarding because its very difficult. It is a lot of work but I don't regret taking her class. She has a good heart and a love for science! Great lady! This class is extremely difficult. I attended class on a regular basis and did al of the homework and readings assigned and did not understand why I did not do well in the class. I asked her to help me and all she told me to do was attend her offfice hour (which i couldn't) and read the notes. I would NOT reccomend taking this class.

This is a great class!! If you are looking to get an easy an easy A this is not the class for you. Dr. Frost is a good teacher. Her lectures only cover a portion of the information you must learn, so that is why you buy the book. There is an outline for every chapter. All you have to do is print it out. You must read every chapter. An A is possible

Although the class was hard, she did take the time to help us out. The tests were only difficult in the sense that there is a lot to cover. The questions are out of the homework and the course objectives serve as the study guide. She is big on preventing cheating and assigns seats during testing. Remember to write out your short answers thoroughly.
Interesting subject but the professor forgot why she took up teaching in the first place. A ton of "busy work" & the class has so much work that if you expect to pass it you need to not take any other classes that semester. Out of 60+ students enrolled 7 of us ended up at the final test. A ridiculous drop-out rate. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!
If your looking for an easy A this is NOT the class for you! She's a really nice lady and person. This is a college level course and she treats it like one, so if your used to being babied by the professors then she might seem rude but she's just doing her job. If you dont read the book or take note that your definately going to fail the tests.
Impossible and unrealistic, Prof Frost expects students to complete every assignment in the text. I was spending 10-12 hours a week on this class before I dropped and I have a 124 IQ.
Worst teacher at Delta. She does not care if her students fail or pass. 90% of the hours of homework you're forced to do at home will not count as credit. She does not help students with their questions and her tests are crazy hard and have nothing to do with what is taught. You will not pass this class. Terrible teacher. DO NOT take this class.

I was trying so hard to pass this class that my other classes were suffering so I finally gave up. She acts like her class is the only class you take. I DO NOT recommend this class!!!!
I don't get why she is rated so low. I managed to get a B without doing much reading. I just paid attention and did all the work. It was pretty straightforward.
I actually love her class (Earth Science). Sure she does a lot of lectures but she makes sure you get the material. She even demonstrates with real life scenarios and common classroom objects. She's really sweet too. Really nice teacher.

Nicer person who is not meant to be a teacher. Tough grader, tough test, and absolutely no study guides. Has her own grading scale, must have a 73 to count as a C, 72 is considered a D. There are 4 exams and 1 cumulative final. Only take her if you are willing to read 40-50 pages a week and do hmk online.
I took her for Geology 5 for my GE, and it is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, including calculus. Her tests are hard but are based of the Class worksheets and the multiple choice on her exams come from the study area for Mastering Geology! She won't tell you, though. According to her, you should study everything in the chapters.
Homework online every week that takes up over 4 hours to do. She then lectures AFTER, expecting you to be "ready" for the lesson. She just reads off of her slides anyways zzz. Worksheets everyday is your attendance, which she doesn't go over thoroughly. 74 is considered a C, why. Just why.

Dr. Frost was a very kind and caring person however the class was impossibly difficult. She is so fixated on making sure it's a "college" level course that she makes it too hard to learn. Also weird grading system. 74% is her C- , and a 73% is a D ? No.
Gina Frost seemed nice at first but her grading scale doesn't make sense. A 74% is a C- and a 73% is a D. She does not explain things at all, so be prepared to be your own teacher. She also doesn't take roll normally so if you don't turn things in that day you'll be marked absent. I would never recommend her, she's the worst teacher I've ever had.
Please people do not make the same mistake as I did. Frost will tell you that your grade directly correlates on the effort you put fourth yet the highest grades were 75 % on the first two test. I thought that the reviews below were just trying to scare people away, but believe me this class is the worst class you will take while attending Delta.
Dr. Frost is without a doubt one of the best professors at Delta. This is an introductory science course, so A LOT of information is covered. Dr. Frost expects you to be prepared and perform at a college level-you are in college. She is a tough grader because she cares about your education. Her grading scale has been adjusted and is normal now.
She is a nice lady but she doesn't really connect with students in a educational manner. Id be curious to know what her teaching philosophy is. She just doesn't seem to care if students learn or not. She is def knowledgeable but wish she would put effort in helping us learn some of that knowledge.
One of the more difficult classes I've ever taken. Definitely don't expect it feel like an intro class. Read everything assigned and show up every day though and you can pass, but if you want easy science units with little effort, this is not the class for you.
Worst professor ever! She talks down to her student and seems not to care about her students learning at all. She has even said to our class that we are "academically immature". I do not recommend this class to anyone. Expect to learn all the material on your own, be giving quizzes without no prior notice, and be given tons of homework.
Many people HAVE to take this class with Coach Frost, so just bare with it. You spend $500+ to take this class just to have free YouTube lectures teach you. You can't ask anything in class without her telling you to go to her office hours. Just do the homework and the labs, study the worksheets and textbook for the tests, and you should pass.

Dr. Frost is THE toughest professor at Delta. More than half of the class dropped throughout the semester. Even the students left at the end were miserable. She's very strict. There are countless worksheets, time consuming homework assignments, and extremely tough exams. If you are generally not a good student, I would not take this class at all.
Horrible, horrible professor. She doesn't do her job as a professor and insists students call her coach despite her uselessness both in class and her office hours. The material itself is interesting, but her grading system is flawed as heck. Prelesson homework is graded while in-class assignments aren't and they're due before the class of the week.
Prof. Frost does not help you learn this material. There is tons of hw due online the week before we even review it. Youtube videos basically teach us because she doesnt lecture. She seems like a nice lady and knows what she is talking about but doesnt really care enough. The exams are HARD and so specific. would not take again.
She can be very rude in class. Seems like she dislikes questions in class, as she either tells you to review the material or goes around the question entirely. Lots of material, very hard tests, which is ok but Frost doesn't teach, you're often left on your own in class. Overall, she's a decent person, but a terrible instructor. Avoid if you can.
G Frost is by far the worst professor I've taken at Delta College. Class is filled with worksheets which she gives you & gives minimal to no explanation on, makes you feel stupid for asking for help. Tough & unreasonable grader and tests are unbelievably hard & specific. Hard class & even tougher since she doesn't teach. AVOID CLASS!!
Seemed offended that no one was an earth science major and actually blamed the 8 people who stayed in her class for failing because we "didn't prioritize our time properly".. Do you and your GPA a favor and tell all your friends to stay as far away from this professor at all costs.
Use her office hours/ the tutors if she has them available! She doesn't like to spend a lot of in-class time for answering a bunch of questions because there's so much material to get through. She makes this class transferable for geology majors and actually raises the bar as far as UC entry geology classes. She treats all of her classes this way.
Wow. wow. wow. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Hardest class I've ever taken and teacher is condescending and rude. She says to ask questions , but when you try and ask a question in class she makes you feel absolutely stupid. Very strict and paranoid. If you care about yourself do not take this class.
Worst professor ever taken. She is very confusing and the homework is very confusing. Not to mention her tests are like those ones you think its the right answer, but it is wrong anyways. I warn you. Do not take her class. Also she expects you to know EVERYTHING!!!! If you are planning to take an easy class for science. This is not for you.
Started the class w/ 30 ppl + a small waitlist. Only 9 ppl took the final! Her test are super hard and very specific. For her tests, I recommend reading the concept checks at the end of each chapter (helps with the multiple choice) and looking over the in-class ws (similar problems on the tests). Dont take this class unless its your only option!
I've actually just graduated Delta with my A.A, but I want to come back to warn anyone from taking this class. Worst class I have literally ever taken. What kind of teacher hates to answer questions in a three hour Geology class? Ms. Frost does. That's should tell you everything you need to know about her character. DO NOT TAKE any of her classes.
This is one of the most terrible prof. I have EVER had! She makes you seem like youre dumb for not knowing when you ask a question. You teach yourself and she goes through everything fast. Its a hard class and I don't recommend taking her class. I thought I could break through but its not easy. She doesn't give study guides
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I had read her reviews before hand and thought "she cant be that bad"... NOOOO I was wrong! She makes your test 60% of your grade, refuses to give a study guide or even what sections to focus on. There is math involved that is unnecessary but "important" to her. A LOT of homework that's mandatory. Wish I had dropped it.
I would never recommend this professor to anyone!! She gives at least 6 hours of homework a week, not including studying. She doesn't really teach which is why the homework takes so long. She is by far the worst professor I have ever had. Do everything you can to avoid taking her.
Nice-ish lady, terrible teacher. Material is far too dense which she only briefly covers. Doesn't care if you have any other classes. Assigns lots of reading. 3 books and 2 site codes totaling over $400. Worksheets count for nothing, assignments don't mean much. Your grade is in the tough tests. Don't pass those, you don't pass the class.
Never take this course with frost. She is the worst professor ever. She doesn't care about her students and only complains about how many classes she has to teach rather than understanding that her students also have other classes to worry about. Her tests are impossible to pass she has to mark you wrong for no reason for example and erase mark.
By far the worst professor Ive ever had. Even had to change my major because of this woman. Its hard to learn from someone you dont respect. Dont ask questions. She will make you feel bad for not understanding and claim that you shouldve done the reading. Hard to keep you eyes open 0/10 would recommend. My mental health improved when dropped.
Dr. Frost has high expectations of her students - but also gives them all the tools with which they can meet and exceed those expectations. This is a college class, taken for college credits. So be prepared to do college level work. This class prepares you for univeristy - as any good junior college should.
She is literally THE WORST. Super passive aggressive. Rude. Just a terrible teacher in all. She assigns so much pointless homework for no reason. You'll have two lab assignments, two lecture assignments, and one discussion along with a couple of worksheets with only TWO DAYS to finish them. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!
This is the worst professor, or even teacher that I have ever had the misfortune of taking. She gives out a ludicrous amount of homework each week, and if a student doesn't understand anything, she claims that you didn't put enough time into the homework, and will make you feel bad for even asking the question. Her tests are extremely difficult.
I initially took this class, because I had no other options to take. I saw the reviews and thought I'd still try the class. "Only take this class if you're desperate". Friend, you'd be better off waiting for next registration window instead of taking Gina Frost. She makes terrible judgement calls, she barely goes over any of the text. F all around!
Cried during the first test (60% of grade). Seems more interested in getting through every chp. of the book instead of students understanding the material. If you don't do well, she seems to think you aren't trying and tightens the rules. She treats the class like they're cheaters and test protocol gives way to paranoia, before test begins.
If you are one minute late, she will interrogate you or not even let you in the class. She doesn't teach, she doesn't like to answer questions and makes things WAY more complicated then it should be. Everyone in class fails her tests. She's pretty rude and the class feels dead because everyone is afraid to ask questions. Save yourself the stress.

If you walk in right at 9:30 when the class starts, you are late and she will tell u to leave and come back the next class on time and this class a no phone zone, which is okay to an extent.
you'll have to teach yourself the material the entire semester. the worksheets she gives out do not prepare you for any of the tests. im a pretty good student, and thought the reviews were all over-exaggerated about her. they are not. i dont know if anyone in my class passed a single test of hers. the "lectures" are all from youtube.
Take ANY other science class out there, it cannot be as hard as this twisted style of grading. Got locked out of class on our "10 min" 4 min break for 30 sec late. Had to sit in the cold. I am a hard worker but this was ridiculous.. any self-respecting person would have withdrawn asap or not taken at all. I like rocks, and she made me despise them
This teacher was literally the worst class I have ever taken in college. Her grading on a test is absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic. She doesn't event teach her course and she depends on the Masteringlab videos and pulls YouTube videos that are at least an hour long for the lectures. Stay away if you can!
Please don't take this class if your mental health is bad. Please read the other reviews they are not exaggerating. She does not care about you. You need to already have a Ph.D. in Geology to pass this class. Her labs ask for a lot, yet, we are not taught anything of what she is asking for. The class is made to ruin your GPA. DONT take it. Ive never had to worry about failing a class during the middle of semester, when Im actively doing ALL the work. But this class. You will not come here to learn, you must already know everything, or you will fail. This class will bring your GPA down. One should not be a professor if they dont care about their students education. DONT TAKE IT!!!!
Worst teacher I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I thought I had some bad teachers but I was clearly wrong. She only gives out McGraw assignments for homework and the "lectures" are YouTube vides all of which have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what is on the tests. Because of her I can't graduate this semester and have to wait til next sem.
this was the hardest class Ive ever taken. She flips how assignments were graded mid semester with out warning. If you have money trouble and cant get the books right away she doesnt care. Everytime i tried to ask a question id get an auto response. she doesnt care about her students. DONOT take her go to another college and take it if you have to.
Dr. Frost is an extremely hard professor, however, she is willing to help with any questions you may have. This class is designed for students who are going to put in the work. You should expect to study AT LEAST 10hrs on top of the work assigned. This course has a lot of work assigned and lab is sometimes confusing, especially on the lab exams.
I never took the time to write a bad review on any of my professors but I believe its necessary to warn other students. She has a 2.2/5 for a reason and trust the other students reviews because theyre not wrong. She was unsupportive, grades tough, doesnt make her own material or lecture. Also changed grading system in middle of semester.
This teacher is a tough grader and it is not worth taking her class. There are about 6 assignments due every 3 days and you must read 2 chapters a week in lab and in lecture. There is lecture work, lab work, and workbook pages that must all be done. If you are taking multiple classes don't take this class because it requires all of your time.
I wasn't intending to drop this class which is why I ended up receiving an EW, but I knew this class was going to drop my GPA if I stuck through with it. It was too hard to keep up with her expectations, so I always kept getting B's on discussions. Also exams are worth 75% of your grade! She also doesn't make her own lecture material.
She's the type of professor that docks points if you respond to other classmates in a discussion all on the same day. You legit have to come back to the same assignment on 3 separate days if you want full credit. Her lectures are links to YouTube vids and other professor's lectures. Focuses too hard on making it feel like a "college" level course.
She teaches by means of Pearson Revel and not of her own merit. Students are expected to read two chapters of an overpriced book a week and watch YouTube videos, none of which are made by her. She also docks you points for completing discussion assignments in one day. She puts no effort and expects students to do so much work and assignments.
I would give her a 0 star I would. Not understanding of student life including working through a pandemic. I dropped her class. I asked for an accommodation a few hours after the closure of an assignment, she denied it and replied with "you can do better." Please refrain from taking any of her courses.
I thought that I could get through this class for my last semester, but it was just too much work. She makes you work insanely hard on simple assignments, and grades super harshly. She goes out of her way to give you unnecessary work and has you go through ridiculous processes just to turn in an assignment. I just ended up taking a W. Run away!!

She is such a tough grader and expects responses to discussions on 3 separate days. You have to pay $70 to do homework assignments on a website that half the time doesn't work. I had a family emergency and she refused to give me a 24 hour extension because I needed "proof". Lectures aren't hers and exams have no correlation with past homework.
She is really tough, idk if there is another professor for this course. Test are not what you expect from the reading and YouTube. I dropped the class.
Worst professor I have taken by far at Delta. If you can avoid taking this Professor I would. Unless youre willing to put A LOT of time and effort into this class, dont take it. Im an all A student and I barely passed this class, multiple students had to reach out to the dean due to everyone failing or dropping this class. Extreme amount of homework even though 60% of your grade is the exams. The worked is very crammed. Do not take this Professor, it is not worth the mental toll at all. Go to a different school if needed.
I highly advise students to not take this course. (Unless if you are majoring in this field. But even with that...) This class has been a real displeasure. Give your time and money for a real college course.
This professor is rather incompetent. Her grading system is flawed and she provides no original lectures. Readings from an expensive book and youtube videos are not substitutes for proper teaching. These negative reviews are fairly true. Skip this professor please. A professor should put effort and care yet she does not.

GEOL 5 was supposed to an Intro to Earth Science but youre expected to be an expert in this subject already in order to understand. This class was the most boring thing I've ever forced myself through. She sits at her deks and lectures for 3 hours. There are weekly lab tests and weekly lab and lecture homwork that ranges from about 45 mins to 2 hours. The class itsself wasn't really all that difficult it was just painful to listen to her slow boring lectures for so long.
If you're not willing to devote hours upon hours to studying beyond the general lectures, don't even bother taking this course. Only took for a pre req for my gen ed, but it was the hardest course I had. Plus the lockdown browser made my anxiety skyrocket since I couldn't look back over my tests before submission.
This professor completely ruins the experience of learning all together. You attend lectures twice a week that teach you nothing & answer questions. All learning in class is done through Pearson courses (30%) and textbook reading. Class is weighted by tests (65% of grade). Two tests = 8 chapters each! Tests are timed & lockdown browser. Terrible!!
Genuinely the worst class I've taken. The lectures are torturous, she crams each PowerPoint slide full of information ripped right from the textbook and reads directly off it in a monotone voice. You have to pay to access the homework, and that doesn't even help you with the tests. DO NOT take her class if you are easily stressed!!
Prof. Frost gives way too much homework + multiple expensive textbooks... Any lab is tough, but this class feels better suited for those pursuing a career in this field rather than a class you just take for credit. She provides plenty of resources and its YOUR job to ensure success. The people bashing her are those expecting an easy A.
You will have to do lectures on your own and then the next day have a lab on it which will take a long time. THis teacher gives a lot of information at once. Each week you have a test on the things you learned the week before. Test/quizes and labs are on the same day.
Do not recommend taking this class if you are not an earth scientist. Take anything else to get your science credits.
Be prepared for 12+ hours of studying tons of work crammed in this class, quizzes every week on lab, 2 huge tests in person plus a final the week after. on the first exam no one got over a c-. Goodluck.
Mandatory class, if you leave early she doesn't count it. Quiz every week based on previous chapter. She does online readings up to 2.5-3 hours long. Too much information at once. Her study guides for test are pretty long, and like she said "it is not particularly what you will find ono the test". Very expensive books, don't really use all.
I graduated from Delta College in 2019 to get my associates. I got my Bachelors's in 2022 from Stanislaus State. I am now deep into my professional career. I say all that because, out of everything, I remember this HORRIBLE professor the most. The worst teacher I have ever had. If you are reading this, run FAR away from her. Ruined geology for me.

I definitely do not recommend taking this class. What is taught in class and what is taught in the online lectures is not what ends up being on the tests. I feel as though the tests are entirely too difficult for an entry-level class, especially since she does not teach the material needed to be successful. Tests are not given back for review.
Actively humiliated me in class when I did assignments and the final exam. She tested us on things she did not go over and was not willing to allow me to leave class early when I told her I was feeling sick, saying she'd fail me on the assignment if I were to leave despite me providing a doctor's note when I arrived saying I had done a blood test.
Class was very quiz heavy; quizzes were very difficult and class averages in terms of scores were consistently quite low. Homework was moderately difficult but manageable, and classwork was not difficult, but the subject matter of the classwork was almost never related to the quizzes, despite being about the same chapters.
If my major was Geology I'd have enjoyed it, unfortunately, text book was required to purchase, she gave us too much homework, every week there was in-person quiz which was not open book and she would also give us activities in class, also in the beginning she would lecture and then she started sharing lectures from other people on YouTube.
Expensive books, tests are oppressively difficult. You need help? Well go F yourself because thats likely the response. In my last semester of college and this is likely going to be the only class I have ever failed in college. If you need science credit and she's the only one left to take, then go to a different college or drop out and sell drugs.
I'm not typically the type of person to leave bad reviews, however; this was possibly the worst course i've taken. Three books are required and in total cost more than $200. She doesn't lecture at all, so you're forced to teach yourself the material and she gives really hard weekly quizzes based on things she didn't teach.
Took her this semester and hated it. She makes you buy expensive books( $200+) that arent even worth it. Glad she left halfway through the semester because if not we all would have failed! Her quizzes are heavily weighted and they are extremely hard. You can spend over 8 hours studying and still be confused. She does not even teach during lecture.
Avoid this class if you're not an earth science major. Expensive textbooks, long lectures, and quiz-heavy grading - not worth the struggle. unstuck AI could be a lifesaver for test prep, though.
