She is a very good professor. The only problem is that your grade in her class depends mostly on the research paper. She is the only pro. that I've ever heard give a 10 page research paper to freshmen.

The class is based solely on the paper, but she helps with the paper. She makes is easier for people to understand how to write a college paper. High recommend.

The major assiments are 4 pages critical analysis essay, and 6 page reserch critical analysis essay. She helped a lot, and she teaches fun and sophisticated way. i can recomended her, but the class is not easy.

She teaches in a manner that you would expect from a college professor. While she does expect a lot from you, she helps through it all. A 10 page paper sounds like a lot for a freshman, but you work through the entire symmester on it.

I've never understood/had confidence in writting a paper until I left her class. She's hard but very good if you want to learn the right way. She doesn't let out early, you need to do the work, she does make class fun, never boring. I liked her. recommend

She is an excelent professor! I would take her again if I were taking regular classes. After completing her class I was proficient in english and research, which created the opportunity to propel myself into honors curricula.Pay attention regarding plagiarism. No word 4 word,quilts,or paraphrases!

Magarine is awesome, and I love her to death. She is hilarious, and very entertaining. She will also teach you A LOT and make you enjoy learing it. Homework wasnt bad at all, just light reading and a few essays, and the final research paper. Overall, I give her an A.

Ms.Magarine is the best! I thought I would do horrible considering I am not very intrested in english. She is very clear and a great thing about her is that she will never make you feel stupid. Do the work and you'll love this class!

She's a good teacher just pay attention. Not as bad as some others. She's pretty strict, but you can tell she enjoys teaching. Funny. To the point, but is very particular in what she wants everyone to do.

She's smart but prejudice. She's funny but egoist. I usually come in class late. I am not the perfect student, but my writing ain't that bad. She, in my opinion, was biased when grading my papers. I help my friends w/ their papers and they've got As 'n Bs; I got a low C. She manipulates me into working harder. Manipulating differs from encouraging.

She is a very good teacher, she's smart and hilarious, she makes learning fun and she is very helpful. I would definitely recommend her for either english 1 or 2

Magarine is a pretty cool teacher, the work is hard if you don't pay attention. she'll help those who want to be helped, but if your a sleeper or slacker, don't bother. she teaches those whom want to learn, not to come in and sleep for an hour and 1/2

Best teacher I have had! She is smart, funny, helpful and it is obvious she loves her students. It is a fun and easy class but still expect to do writing and reading. She is very clear as to what she expects and is always there for her students. You can talk to her like you can talk to one of your best buddies. Take her!!

I finished SCC. I took her class about 2 years ago. It was the hardest class in this college. Many assignments, presentation, long reports. (Except this class, I got grade A.) But she taught everything that I need in SCC, for writing reports. Without her teaching,I may have difficult time in other classes. She is the best teacher for me.

She was fun and always made me laugh and tried to help in any way that she could.

Ms. Magarine is a great teacher if YOU know how to be a student. This is college, not high school...she's not here to hold your hand or baby you (but if you need extra help, just ask!) Read your syllabus, complete your (reading) assignments and participate in class discussions. Final paper is just 2 4-page papers put together...how easy is that?

she is an awsome english teacher. i took her for both english 1 and english 2 and if she taught another class i would have taken that one too. i would definetly recommend her for anyone looking to take an english class. also not that this should matter but on the last day of class she brings in food.

take her if you want to actually learn. I took other enc prof. & learned nothing. not easy-but she is so encouraging & devoted to the development of her students' writing & understanding of material. It's true she can make jokes that offend some, but only b/c they deserved it. she's even better than your best buddy-amazingly sweet. And intelligent.

This teacher is amazing. She is not easy, you will have to work for your grade. But the amount that you learn is unbelievable. She is funny and is really devoted to making her students learn. This is not the easiest English class out there. But you will feel a sense of accomplishment once you complete the class.

Ms. Magarine is is the perfect teacher. She has done so much for all of her students including me. She is a valuable asset to SCC. I only hope I can take one of her other classes.

She is nice and fun but very hard at grading!!! The class is alot of reading and alot of writing papers! I'm not a lazy student but no matter how hard i work i never get the grade i feel i deserved in this class! She is nice and fun though! Take her if you are really interest in English and don't care about getting an A!! Good Luck

mrs. magarine is AMAZING ! ! i was dreading this class SO much. she is fun, smart, and pushes you to the limit. she makes the required research paper SO easy and painless. you do the paper in sections and she makes the requirements very clear. DO NO PLAGARIZE! she will know! and VERY little reading homework...def. take this class if you can ! !

Extremely Helpful and nice. Genuinely cares about her students. Likes it when students go to her office during her office hours. Her class can get difficult. Very strict about how she wants her assignments done (i.e. paper length, format) but thoroughly esplains how she wants them done. Great Professor! I recommend her!

She is a very tough teacher, but you learn so much from her. do not plagarize in her class!!. hardly any tests, but one major 8- 10 pg paper. that was hard. it had to be argumentative. but she was a nice teacher. I htought i would fail english, but she helped me out so much. if you like to write i would recommend her, but if you are lazy, no.

She is a very good professor, easy quizes. If you do your homework and come to class she takes that into consideration. The research paper was only 6 pages. I recommend her as she makes her class fun. I took her in the spring term. There were alot of her students from her English I class in this class.

She's a cool chick and she knows her stuff. Perhaps I liked it more than others because I have an interest in literature and enjoy listening to her and the class dissect the stories. She's very free-spirited and energetic so some people might not like that and that's understandable.

I LOVED THIS CLASS!!! i'm not a fan of english but ms. magarine uses modern literature that is somewhat interesting and she has wonderful personality, so she seems like ur friend rather than ur teacher.

She is amazing. Don't get me wrong she is tuff but if you are willing to learn she is awesome. She breaks everything down and makes it easy. Make sure you read your assigned reading, if you don't just don't come to class! Take her though she is wonderful!

I learned so much from Magarine's English I class. She is so organized and is always willing to help. Yes, there is a big research paper but if you pay attention, the paper will be a breeze. Everything I learned, I will defiantly be using throughout my college career.

Miss Magarine is a very good college professor who cares about the success of her students. She did teach our semester with a hard-nosed approach, which I believe can be helpful to community college students, and she makes her students work, but tries very hard to push her students through her class. In this I believe she is excellent.

okay, so I recieved a W for this class, but it could have been an F if it wasnt for professor magarine. She is a very respectful, witty, and understanding teacher. I honestly recommend her, and how many people who recieved a W can say that?

I hate English classes, but I loved enc1101. Great teacher, keeps class entertaining. Brings on participation. Breaks down major papers into sections so that even the procrastonator gets a quality research paper accomplished. If you are lazy and will be missing a lot of class don't bother. If you are going to actually "EARN" your degree take her.

very nice professor, does not tolerate lateness or excessive absents, otherwise alotof work although she does make readings and class work very fun and interesting. make sure u know how to write a proper paper. her quizzes are fairly easy as well as long as u do all the readings. highly recommend. it was a nice tough class over the summer..i enjoy

LOVE this teacher! I do believe she is the reason I passed English. Great sense of humor, definitely an "in your face" type person but I loved learning and going to this class. Majority of the class is about the 8 page research paper but she helps you soooo much with it! would definitely take her again!

Great Professor!!!! I enjoyed learning from her and also always excited for the lecture to come. She's very interesting to learn from and breaks up the research paper for you which made it much easier and fun way of learning. DO TAKE HER! She's awesome!

She is a really fun teacher, kind of off the wall, maybe a bit crazy, but we all loved her! Her creative writing class isn't easy and a breeze though, you write a manuscript and the whole class reads and then workshops it... if you don't like group discussions do not sign up for this class because that's really all you do... you have to talk!

Wonderful teacher. She makes the class so easy that it is enjoyable. The only way to really mess up in her class is if you dig your own hole. Have to read everything, although I did not and still passed with an A. Her quizzes are easy and she wants to "put money in your bank." She wants to give you the A.

She made creative writing so much fun, she ALWAYS encourages you. If you have a passion for writing, she'll really bring it out of you. I absolutely loved going to this class. This is a workshop class though so other people will read your work BUT she and everyone were so incredibly helpful and nice, I started loving workshops.

Ill be fair and say this lady WILL teach you how to write a good paper. However, she is very picky and anal about everything and will drive you crazy. She only focuses on the final paper and if you mess up, even early on, your entire semester grade is totally screwed. If you tend to slack, do NOT take her. Ive heard other teachers are much easier.

The class is fun but she can be unclear and sometimes when you ask her a question she won's answer what you actually asked and then she runs off but it was still good and I did learn just wish she was a more involved teacher, plus she is a bit childish

This professor does not mess around if you are not serious she will know and you will pay. However if you are genuine and work hard she will be the best teacher ever.

I have had a lot of great teachers but she is by far the best. I have never had a more involved and helpful teacher. The class is hard if you make it hard. We read short stories and a novel and had quizzes almost every day. Yes, you have to go to class and yes, you have to write papers. It's a college english class. Duh.

I wish i could find more teachers like her. I don't really like school specially writting but i loved coming to her class. She know how to teach and keep it interesting. I learned alot from her and did very well. If you struggle in writting and english i suggest taking her she is the best!!!!

Creative Writing I thought would be easy - it's just a story, right? Magarine knows her stuff and doesn't mess around if you don't listen to her. A lot of hours go into this class before even writing a single paragraph. However, she is hilarious and super helpful if you are really in it to improve.

Mrs. Magarine is the BEST english professor i have ever had. She is hilarious and makes class fun. However, she is VERY strict with her assignments. If you are not good at writing essays, then you should consider another teacher as you are in college and expected to write college level essays.

Lots of timed essays, then at the end one 7 page research paper. Attendance is a must be there every class. If you are a good writer and understand MLA you will do good. Some online homework that did not take much time. Must earn your grade.

Wonderful teacher to take for ENC1101. A couple online reading quizzes and in class timed essays. Not too hard. Final research paper is not too hard, she gives all the instructions and information needed for it. Very nice lady!

She is an excellent teacher that clearly knows what shes talking about. She's very down to Earth and will make you laugh. If you're easily offended then she's not for you because she's very blunt. You will use the book for reading and will be quizzed online about the reading but she's really good about reminding you about deadlines. Great feedback!

Very active, and respected. There is a research paper at the end of the semester so pick a great topic you can argue about. She emails you if she is going to be in class so great communication.

She knows what she's doing. She has a set schedule and sticks to it. Make sure you get the textbooks because you will have online quizzes on stories from them (very easy). A couple papers are due & your final is a 6 paged research paper that she takes very seriously. If you get offended easily don't take her class because she says what she wants.

Professor Magarine is the best professor ever!! She's hilarious and very honest. She has quizzes on short stories and they will boost your grade if you do them. She is very clear on what she expects and gives you handouts on how she expects everything to be. She will make you a better writer hands down and has a passion for her students.

Professor Magarine is a great English teacher. I learned how to write a timed writing paper. Easy timed tests. She teaches you step by step and gives out handouts for your essay. Gives you plenty notice in advance. Pick an argumentative easy topic. The essay is 6 pages. Come to class because if you miss three of her classes she will drop you.

She is very patient, and understanding during emergencies. Very very sarcastic and sassy through email. Her responses were very helpful during the final paper. Hands down would take her again. Shes a loose cannon and makes the class enjoyable.
