VERY HARD CLASS but he really wil help you if you ask. He also explains things very well and shows you thro powerpoint slides how things work. But if you dont take the class seriously you will fail. If you go to his office hours he really helps you.
uh, this class is so hard, but I liked learning about it and he is the best teacher for anatomy 1, so take him. He is a great teacher though, but watch out for the tests....ouch!
Explains complex concepts so you can understand them. I would always walk out class thinking, "Holy crap, I don't believe I actually understand this stuff." Take good notes in class. Tests are fair, just study the notes.

really good professor. the course is very hard but he teaches well and is very helpful if you ask him. plus he has a cool accent.best anatomy professor in my opinion.
Always explains concepts and never lets u walk away confused
Difficlut class, excellent teacher, very helpful!
Had him for anatomy, I would not take a different professor if you paid me. He was awesome. He knew just how to explain things so they would stick in our heads. Cool accent too. Definitely recommended.
Excellent teacher! the amount of material may be hard. He cares about everyone understanding though.
awesome teacher made class fun and much eaiser laid back guy
he makes sure you understand what he is talking about. he encourages you to ask questions if you dont get it. if you dont really know what he is talking about go to his office hours. he is an awesome prof. in order to pass the tests make sure you truly understand the material, not just the facts.
he's an awesome teacher, realy. explains everything just how it is in class, and puts exacty what is said in class on the test. helpful, and wants you to understand the class and pass, so just go ask
Very poor
He is a great teacher. He takes time out to explain things if you need the help. I would definately reccommend him although it's a hard class i think he's the best teacher.
Prof. Cassotti is a great teacher, very organized and will tell you everything you need to know to do well in his class. Of course YOU must attend to reap the benefits of his knowledge!
Very nice and clear in lecture. Always willing to help and explain. Love the accent. I only wish I had him for bio259. It would have been a lot less painful.
What an awesome guy! I about failed his first test before I realized how easy it is to study exactly what will be on the test. Everything's from the notes, and he took about an hour after that test to go over it item by item. The lab's a must-take too.
he is a nice guy, but to pass his tests you will need jesus
Never having an anatomy class prior to this class, he did not give enough background to understand the basics. The tests were excrutiating (spelling?). And when I went for help, he wasn't very helpful. I was not pleased, and did not take another course
Casotti is a wonderful teacher. Don't be scared to ask questions; he's great at explaining things in a different way.
really hard class. basically you have to study every day b/c it is so much material. casotti speaks really fast and i had trouble following his lectures, altho hes a really nice man and makes the course better to get through
Best professor I've had at West Chester, tries to make difficult information as easy as possible to learn.. very approachable and helpful.. go to class and study the notes and you'll do fine
this guy is great. his exams are easy as long as you study hard every night! people only fail because they wait until the night before to start studying. you can never do well in a biology class that way~
The class is very, very difficult. Dr. Cassoti is probably the best anatomy teacher...if you cant pass with him... good luck. He is a really nice guy, who explains things many times. and is willing to help you if you go to his office hours. he is a great teacher!!!
this class is not difficult at all, as long as you study and don't wait til the week before the exam to study. people, like the person above, wait until the night before the exam and then wonder why its so difficult
I really like Casotti, he's nice and extremely entertaining in lecture. His test questions, however, were weird. I don't know whether it was me, in particular, or if a lot of people were confused by his test question style. I know my subject matter, but I liked him in spite of the test questions. A&P is hard, be prepared to work hard.
luckily he is a great teacher for such a hard class. He is friendly and helpful. He even encourages questions during class even though there are 120 students. He draws diagrams, gives examples, relates the material to something you may understand. Blows Beneski out of the ****ing water. AND he's Austrailian. Makes you smile when he talks :)
Dr Casotti is an exellent teacher. He really cares about his students
Exellent teacher. He really cares about his students.
He is a funny guy, and he really cares about how his students do. He is always willing to give you extra help, and there is room for mistakes. Lab is hard, make sure that you study really hard for the tests, they can make or break you. Good teacher!
Dr Casotti is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He cares about his syudents a lot. English is my third language and I had lot of difficulty in terms of understanding terminologies. He was so patient and kind, and used to explain every thing clearley. I highly recomend this teacher for students who are planning to take ANP 269.
He is exellent. I would take another class with him if I get a chance.
Exellent teacher. Really cares about his students, and want to see them succeed. I will definitly take another class with him if I can. English was my third language and most of the time I had trouble of understanding words. He was so patient and understanding.
He is an awesome teacher! He is so nice and you can tell he loves his job and makes the class interesting! The course is tough but he is willing to help and explain things so take advantage!
he is an awesome teaher. i love how he relates the information back to real life. and he will always lighten the mood with a joke. dont even try sleeping though. but a great guy. i would tell anyone to take him if they had the chance.
Exellent teacher.
Great teacher
exellent
He was such a good teacher... I was really worried about Anatomy 2, but he made things easy to understand. He's very enthusiastic, which makes the class easier to bear. Definitely a great teacher!
good teacher
i had him for anatomy one lab and he was awesome im taking him again next semester for anatomy two.. and you got to love his accent!!
Much better teacher than Beneski. Go to class, and start studying right away. This class is extremely hard if you don't do this. Take good notes and ask questions.
He is very helpful. I struggled with this subject but he is always willing to stay after class and answer questions. He explains things so well and encourages people to speak up in both lecture and in lab. GREAT TEACHER!
He is a great teacher however the class is very hard and if you do not study from day one you will not do well. He encourages people to ask questions and if you go to his office hours he is helpful.
Dr Casotti is great. I do not think I have ever had a teacher like him. He cares about his students a lot. Definitly take his class if you have a chance.
He is the best teacher I have ever had. He is interesting and fun, and honestly wants you to do well. He encourages you to go to office hours and when you do, he is extremely helpful. The class is very hard but if you go to him he will help you do very well. I would take him again for any class in a heartbeat. Best teacher at west chester by far
it's a hard class but he is EXTREMELY helpful- take advantage of office hours and do not miss any classes and memorize all of your notes (which should include like every word he says) and a good grade is possible!
Very very good teacher, but his exams are oh my god!!!!
Genuinely wants his students to succeed, but doesn't take any crap. Extremely helpful. He will stop the lecture to see if anyone has questions and go into detail to make sure everyone understands. If he doesn't know the answer, he will say so. Office hours are like a second classroom. Attend every lecture and study from day one and you'll pass.
Dr. Casotti is great. If you need AP II then you won't get around him unless you take it in the summer, so look forward to the class. He tries to entertain during his lectures. He's not easy by any stretch of the imagination, but the class is very interesting. He's my advisor, he couldn't care more than he does. He eats Vegemite.
He is very compassionate, caring and understanding. He deeply cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. The best teacher I have ever had. He is just awesome.
He is just great. He deeply cares about his students and does any thing he can to help his students. Very dedicated person.
He is a great teacher. Just study hard and ask questions and he will do any thing he can to help you out.
Excellent teacher
Casotti is a nice guy. He is approachable, kind and caring. But you need to work hard. You can not just review the notes two days before exam and expect to pass. You need to put your heart and soul to the subject. Take him if you can.
Explains concepts really well. He taught A&P better than most of my dental school professors. If you put in the effort you will leave that class understanding the human body on a whole new level.
He is an awesome professor, but his class is very difficult. It is not a class to take for fun and you must be prepared to work hard and put in extra time studying.
He is awesome. It's not an easy class but he does everything he can to help you understand. He really knows his stuff and is willing to help whenever. Also, take him for lab too if you can!!
The class is a lot of material but he is a great teacher. Really understands how to get through to students. Go to his office hours if you're ever confused he will definitely help.
I am an A student and I could not do well on his tests. When asking for his help he told me it seemed I understood everything and didn't know why I wasn't doing well...not very helpful in my opinion.
The class itself isn't an easy one but he makes it as painless as possible. i learned SO MUCH. he is one of the best professors at west chester. DEFINITELY take him for lab if at all possible you will do great. go to class and study and an A is attainable
I love this man! His classes were never boring. His exams were tough, but as long as you go to each class and take good notes, you'll do well. Always available to answer questions during office hours. Didn't look at the book once.
Very hard course. Dr. Casotti does a really good job at trying to make lecture interesting and he makes sure the class understands the material, but the tests are very hard. You have to go to class and take notes in order to do decent.
I don't know why everyone thinks he is so hard. On day one he tells you to simply take good notes in lecture. This is the first science class where I actually recorded and studied solely from lectures instead of using the text. If you don't do well in this class then you didn't listen to the lecture like he tells you to. He refuses to round grades.
He's probably one of the best professors at West Chester. He genuinely cares that everyone understands everything and he makes everything extremely understandable. He doesn't take attendance but it is pretty much mandatory to go. Missing one lecture can screw you over. Definitely the best A&P professor ever highly recommend him!
GENIUS!!!! The best professor at WCU. Knows his stuff very helpful. Definately have to put in the effort.
One of the best in the bio department. Awesome at explaining concepts in lecture. Very smart and will answer any questions. Exams are a little tricky, but as long as you study, you're getting at least a B. Office hours are very helpful!
I really enjoyed this class. The techniques are important to learn and help in several different fields of biology. The research project is done mostly on your own time, which was great for anyone with a job. The lectures are very short. He is very engaging and very very helpful. Tough grader though!
Show up to all classes and study after each class for a half hour/hour. Go to his office hours because he's REALLY helpful and will do anything in his ability to help you comprehend the material. Utilize the study guides he provides as a good start to leaning the processes.
Comes off nice, until he gets to know you, and then becomes VERY rude. This class comes easy to some-not to me. I studied for months and still couldn't get an A or a B. There is so much info he covers in class, and then the test screws you over. If you aren't a good test taker, you won't like this class because your grade is a combo of 4 exams.
Only a difficult class if you don't show up to every lecture. Go to every lecture, write down EVERYTHING he says even if you have no idea what he meant. If you have questions he's more than willing to talk to you during his office hours to clarify things. Studying 3-4 times a week at the start of each section is a must.
Casotti is great. He is very animated during his lectures. He walks around a lot and is really excited about what he's teaching. Keeps you focused and makes it easier to pay attention. GO TO THE LECTURES! I only missed one class and it took a little while to catch up. studying ahead of time is a MUST. only studying the night before? good luck.
Casotti is a really good teacher & he cracks a lot of jokes. However it's A&P the class is tough but its not his fault. He does a really good job teaching hard stuff! Don't miss class unless you have it recorded from a friend
Really easy to understand. He's a pretty funny guy, too. Lab exams in particular can be brutal, and there's no curving or extra credit.
This man is brilliant and really wants to help you succeed. He makes class interesting and is always asking if we have questions even in a lecture hall of 150ppl. He is funny and has an awesome accent. He is always very helpful during office hours. Do not miss a class, and record every lecture. This class will be your life. You have to work hard.
Dr. Casotti is the man! He is passionate about the material and knows his stuff. He is an excellent, dynamic lecturer, and breaks things down so they make sense. That being said, it is a lot of material. Show up, work hard, and study a lot. He is always willing to help in office hours. Also funny and Australian, which helps.
Really great guy as a teacher. Okay teacher.. exams are literally IMPOSSIBLE though. Studied for weeks only got me a low C, even with a tutor. I often thought I understood things, but by my grade I obviously didn't. Doesn't take attendance, but if you don't go you will miss SO MUCH info that can't just be copied by someone's notes. OFFICE HOURS.
Dr. Casotti is really good professor but that doesn't weigh in his strictness and tough test questions. Record the lectures, review them the day of the lecture, and study 5 days prior to the test and you'll be fine. Don't expect any bonus or curves since he has a emotional attachment to his authoritarian style.
By far one of my favorite professors at WCU! Dr. Casotti is super funny and actually makes the material you're learning interesting. His slides and the way he presents his information is very clear. I would say he can be a challenging professor at times but it's only to motivate you to study really hard. I had him for BIO 269 as well, he's awesome!
Honestly, I believe that Casotti was a good teacher. People blame the difficulty of the class on him, but I really thought he was a good teacher. He gives TONS of real life examples that help you to understand the material way better. 4 tests with a final (not cumulative). Tests are difficult, the questions make you think. Funny guy also!
Can be rude and condescending.
Really smart professor, pretty funny too. Although, he makes you feel kind of stupid when you go to his office hours to ask questions, I really respect him as a teacher. Doesn't take attendance but showing up for class is important. Test are nearly impossible to pass and are a majority of the points.
He is the worst professor I ever had. His tests for his higher level classes are almost exclusively written answer and there's hardly enough time to finish them. He's not understanding of his students and couldn't care less what your final grade is.
He's a good professor, the content is just hard. He makes lectures interesting and gives lots of real world examples and can be funny. Tests are hard, you have to study. He tries his best to make sure everyone understands the information. Puts powerpoints online but you won't understand them if you don't go to class because he elaborates on them.
Casotti is great. Exams are hard. Had to retake, but he is so funny and makes everything relatable and bearable. Study hard, ask for help. You can do it.
Study. Literally make sure you get a tutor, whether it be someone who did well in the class or has the credentials through the university, GET ONE! Record the lectures, listen to what he has to say, take notes, study, review, and study more until you get the concepts. Will be retaking the Lecture. LAB IS A JOKE, so use it to your advantage!!!
269 is a difficult class and he made it more bearable with his humor... and his accent! Attend class, study hard, and read up and you won't have many issues. Lab is easy so get as many points as you can in there.
By far one of the worst professors I have ever taken at West Chester. He made the material seem harder than what it actually was. His PowerPoint slides aren't the best and he leaves it up for you to take notes. His tests are ridiculous. Tutor didn't help. Passed somehow
If you do not go to his classes, YOU WILL FAIL. He does put his slides on his website, but he goes into a lot of detail in class that you just won't get from the slides. The test are very hard and not easy to get good grades on. A lot of effort needs to be put into this class if you want to pass. Casotti makes the class fun and entertaining.
Dr. Casotti is by far a great professor he makes you work for your grade, but the lectures are interesting. Record the lectures and review the material often, and you'll be fine. Anatomy 2 was 100xs more interesting then Anatomy 1
My favorite Biology class so far, and I'm a Bio major who can't even use this course for my Biology credits! Take good notes on the slides, and copy everything he says. Pay attention to videos, and come to class. Very caring, but can be savage. Awesome Aussie accent! Still rather take this over Comp. Vert. Phys., which does count for BIO credit.
This class is very difficult. He talks very fast so record the lecture. He makes the class interesting. Get a tutor. Lab is easy so take advantage of that.
He knows the material very well, but each lecture is packed with information that you'll need to know so it can be overwhelming at times. He genuinely wants you to do well, but makes the tests challenging, so definitely go to his office hours and start studying early... you'll thank yourself later.
great prof & really knows his stuff, but the class is hard. definitely record his lectures and try to sit in the front. if you can try to go to both sections. tests contain a lot of material. read the textbook
I took Casotti's BI 259 & 269 over the summer and definitely recommend if you are willing to dedicate those 10 weeks to all anatomy. I recommend rewriting your notes and understanding how different concepts relate and truly understand the big picture. He is a funny guy and truly willing to help if you ask. You must put in time to study!
I was so scared for this class at first because of its difficult reputation, but I have never had a professor who explains things the way he does. The material can be difficult, but he explains his power points very clearly, you just have to pay attention! I suggest recording the lectures. Tests are manageable, but you must study days in advance!
Casotti is great. Hilarious, great accent, makes class interesting, and he explains concepts really well-GO to lecture, RECORD THEM, AND STUDY EARLY. Tests are difficult, but if you study in advance you'll do OK. Lab is easier, get as many pts as possible in there. I used the textbook, but the study guides he provides on D2L help more. Good luck!
Technically the lectures are not mandatory but if you miss one, you will be so confused. RECORD THE LECTURES! I literally wrote down every word he said to pass the exams. Don't go on your phone in class, he will embarrass you and take off a big percentage of your last exam. Don't get the textbook. Go to office hours, he is really understanding!
Dr. Casotti is an extremely good professor but you need to put in the work to get a good grade. Record lectures, study for a little bit after each lecture, and read the textbook. The material is very conceptual so youtube videos help! Not difficult material just a lot of material. Tests are difficult but study hard and you'll get a good grade!
A&P is hard class in general! its even harder that its an online class due to covid-19! Labs arent supposed to be online which I hate but study hard and read read read ANDD ask him questions! He doesnt bite! the more questions you ask, the better! Casotti is a great professor! Very understanding and nice! SHOW UP TO HIS OFFICE HOURS TOO!
Dr. Casotti is the man! Yes this course is challenging but dont let that deter you from reaching your ultimate career goal. I still revisit notes and ideas from his lectures to help me understand the basics of human physiology. He is very organized and informational. Print the notes and write all the additional info he says during lecture
Casotti's BIO269 class has barely any homework which is nice, but it also means your grade is heavily based on 4 lecture exams and 2 lab exams, all of which are pretty difficult. The topics are tough and Casotti does his best to explain, but most times his explanations are too complicated so they fall short. Be ready to study if you want to do well
Overall, this class is very difficult! If you dont go to class or study, you wont do well. If 80% of the class doesnt attend the lecture (during online classes) he wont post it on D2L. He is a good prof, but reading the textbook and going to tutoring help A LOT! Dont expect an easy A, put in effort & Get easy points from homework/ lab quizzes.
Dr. Casotti isn't a bad teacher, I just hate the way he runs his class. This is an already difficult class & with classes being all online it made it 10x harder! He records lectures and only uploads them if there is 80% attendance in class. He takes the time to record he might as well upload to help his students, which would make studying easier.
Prof Casotti is a good professor that introduces challenging topics to his students. Lots of people dont like him due to his class, but this is the reality of any difficult majors such as nursing. Lecture and test heavy. Give at least a few hours a week to review and study and you should pass this class. never used the textbook and passed with an A
I was enrolled in this class in the semester when we were no longer quarantined (fall 2021) and his class only gave very limited resources to study from. Which sucks because the tutors werent given much since they were not there in class. The study tools that he did give werent even that helpful. To put it simply I hated Dr. Casotti.
Dr. Casotti was an amazing professor. This class is hardvery hard. You have to go in knowing that or else it will be even harder because you have to realize how much of a time commitment it is. His lectures are very important so dont miss them.
Dr. Casotti is one of those professors that will help you as much as he possibly can if you put the effort in. The class is really hard, that's just the nature of the course and it is a lot of work. But if you go to lecture, take notes, and go to office hours it is totally doable. He is easily one of the greatest professors I have ever had.
Harsh grader, the way exam questions are worded makes it confusing. Very strict on grading. Not helpful when you need help. Has office hours but offers limited help.
Dr casotti is very passionate about what he does and it shows throughout his lectures. He is very energetic during class. The course is very challenging however he tries to make as simple as possible, and wants his students to do well. if you do exactly what he asks you will do well. Attend class or you wont pass
A&P 2 is an extremely difficult class, BUT if you enjoy the subject matter and actually take the time to study, you will do well in the class. Exams are lecture-heavy, so do not study lecture slides except for any graphs/visuals. Dr. Casotti is extremely passionate and as long as you apply yourself and ask for help when needed, you will be fine.
worst teacher ever wants students to fail
Dr. Casotti is a great teacher! I just had him over the summer and took both Anatomy courses. As long as you show up to class and PAY ATTENTION, you will do just fine! You will need to study for at least 2 hours a day! Sitting in the front of class helps so much to understand the material! Overall great explaining of the material! Take good notes!
he speeds through lectures so get ready to type beeches
Horrible experience.
He says the textbook is required but I did not read it at all. It is still in the packaging. Go to his office hours, they are very helpful. Taking audio recordings is helpful because he blows through the content very fast. He gave us extra credit points, once for test attendance and another for donating to charity.
This class is difficult but manageable; you can get an A if you study hard & manage your time. Don't buy the paper textbook, save the $, the online one works. Dr. Casotti is a good lecturer. He goes very fast so put the work in and don't slack! The labs are experiments, *not* anatomy. There are lab exams! My hardest class but my favorite this fall
If you walk into this class knowing you will have to work hard for a good grade, you will be fine. Figure out your note-taking/studying techniques early-on. He will talk a little faster than you may be used to but take descriptive notes. You have to attend every lecture, listening to just audio recordings wont work.
Wants you to fail. Does everything in his power for you to not pass his class. Nice person but not a good teacher.
Gives lectures very fast and hard to keep up with. He got off topic a lot so when you recorded his lectures it was hard to stay focused. Not very helpful in office hours unless you go to a lot of them. Hard because he's the only teacher that teaches this course.
If you want a hard professor for lab take him, I didn't get along with him at all. He helps a little but in his own way, I wouldn't take him again.
Wayyy too much content on each of the tests. Asks so many specific questions on the tests that there's no way you'd be able to memorize them while studying.
I heard many mixed emotions about this professor, but I actually enjoyed him. You absolutely need to study and put a lot of time into this class in order to pass. It is a lot of work, but he really prepares you for the much harder courses coming your way.
I LOVE Dr. Casotti. The class is extremely hard, yes, but it's not impossible. I studied for at least 20-40 hours within the span of a week or two leading up to his exams. You must go to lecture or else you'll fail. It is a very rewarding class and he just wants his students to understand the material. He is a great prof, you just NEED to study.
This class is very difficult. Not a class to take for fun. He goes very fast through lectures and expects everyone to know everything. The exams are worded difficult. The class average for exams are always very low. He is very passionate about this class but it can be very challenging if you dont spend hours and days studying.
Dr. Casotti was an amazing professor. He made the content fun and I didn't mind waking up at 8am to go. It's a very difficult class if you aren't willing to put in the work. You have to go to class, take extensive notes, and study. I have never studied harder for a class, but also have never learned so much in one class.
He is an amazing professor, sad to see he is retiring because I would take more of his courses. He makes lecture fun, tries to make everyone engaged, be ready to ask questions because you will. You also should not skip lectures (even though attendance is not taken), becuse you will be so lost in the next lecture.
Aweful professor. Trouble market towards students. Unfair.
Professor Casotti may be tough, but his class is rewarding. Attend every lecture, take detailed notes, and utilize resources like the textbook and unstuck ai to succeed. It's a challenging course, but the effort is worth it.
