Very funny professor. Gives a big curve for tests.
Very entertaining. Great person, but taught vey slow and you still couldn't pass a test. Until the curve.
Been on the same 2 chapters for 2 months...
Hard to understand, but very funny! Go to class, it will help you out especially if you bomb the tests.
funny just look over the worksheets and you will do fine... the final is usually the worksheets put together.. cares about the students

Nice person but disorganized. He cannot explain his thoughts clearly and even forgets his outside class appointments for help. I got a good grade but learned little. Many students like him because of his curve.
Girma, Alls I can say is that he's the man....People may complain about him but I did absolutly nothing in his class besides show up...he gives points for attendance and failed both tests...a C is a 60....Got a B in the course while doing NOTHING....
he is awesome!!! the coolest prof in the world. class is fun, kinda confusing but i learned more than i am with new econ prof. he really cares about the students...and does a great shoulder dance!!!
ewwww NO don't take him, he is hard and difficult, told me he would help me alot, never showed up for our tutor sessions, assured me i would pass the class and he failed me!
Hard very hard class, makes mistakes while teacher hard to understand him. The only thing good about the class is that he is funny.
this is the easiest professor you can take for econ. do not listen to the above comments he is your best chance at passing.
Took for Summer sesion and only did a quarter of the material, don't bother buying the Book
Got a C and learning absoultley nothing in his class.
He has a heavy accent, a rediculous curve, some how i managed to fail his class. He is a nice guy, you dont need the book and is a little funny. overall he was average.
This professor is hard to understand and he doesn't have a schedule that he follows. The test are very hard. Economics is horrible, but his curve on test is ridiculous. From an 80 to 100 is an A, and he also gives you points towards your final grade.
His accent is very heavy but he's a nice guy and the HUGE curve on his tests makes it almost impossible to fail. I got a 75 on the first two tests which is a high B in his class and then I got my final grade and it was an A ... he curves a lot.

He is silly, gives three test including da final.Does like to help and gives points in class and explains stuff not to well but if u r smart u will understand. Don't really need book
Nice Guy, HUGE Curve, Terrible Teacher!
Hes great the info sucks but show up u get a C...he gives huge curves...gives out random pts...i just bombed the tests showed up got a c
nice guy, but an idiot. he cant teach, and his tests are extremely hard, even with the curve, drop it immediatley. hes the worst teacher ive ever had. he comes unprepared all the time and is very unorganized. how he was hired is a miracle in my eyes. the entire class in failing!
he is a good teacher.. thick accent and hard to understand but very fun. as long as you go to class you get a guarenteed C and macro is a very hard class so if you think you can do better take another prof. but if you wanna slack take him. he is a nice man. teaches a lil wierd, tests are impossible
He rocks! Dr. Zelleke is very sweet before each class he talks and gets to know you all. He is really really funny. The subject isn't the easiest but go to class and let him know your trying and you'll do great! Don't be discouraged by the tests grades... he curves and gives points...
Great teacher, very willing to help anyone.. Dr. Zelleke is a good person, he understands that students have a hard time with his accent so he curves big. I deserved a d or f and i got a c because i showed up in class every day. Just a good Person to be associated with Fun Dude.
He is a little hard to understand sometimes, but if you go to every class and pay attention, you'll pass. Just pay take advantage of the notes that he gives you!!!
Most frustrating class I ever took. His handouts were illegible, and he changed answer options for the test questions as the test was going on. Class was a total waste of time and effort. Learned nothing of any use.
Frustrating class, and not really clear, he gives handouts on notes, and is always willing to help. Grades on an awesome curve too! even though he doesnt take attendance he knows who u r and when u r not in class. DEF GO EVERY DAY
Not a bad class just frustrating to understand him. Only reason I did well is cuz he curves the course by 20 points. I wouldnt take him if i have a choice.

man, this guy doesnt make any sence at all, he speaks in this crazy odd rhyme scheme and flails his arms around like a mad man, i wouldnt take him if your not a good independent learner(if you dont like reading the text and learning on your own )
He is very silly. He even says so. I won't lie, macro is a hard class, but since an "A" is an 80, it makes up for it. There's only 3 tests, so, study and go to class. He does give notes and you can copy what he writes on the board. Since I know his style, I'm gonna take him for micro. Overall, he's a nice guy.
Terrible. Has to curve his grades so people will pass the class. I learned more by struggling to read the horrible book than by listening to him. Have fun trying to read his notes that look like they were written by a 5 year old.
His accent is verrrrrry strong, so if that kinda thing bothers u, dont take him. very unorganized. VERY. I think he confuses himself sometimes and takes an entire class period to answer 1 question sometimes. He's nice though. And very funny... but If I had the chance to take him again...I wouldn't.
Suck it up and take Girma. All you have to do is go to every class and fail every exam. You fail and still come to class to participate, you pass. Dont understand why everyone complains... so what he has an accent?
Ok yea he has an accent but so do other teachers + you get over it after a while. What makes his course difficult is the way he teaches. He is very hard to understand material wise. and his test are ridiculous. There are only 3 and they are very hard...dont waste your time studying too much. He gives a HUGE curve. A=80-100, and a C is only 50-64.
He is just very hard and you have to teach yourself and bust your butt. His curve rocks though, and he is personally a great guy!
He shuffles into class, asks where he left off, and begins scribbling nonsense on the board and mumbling. He constantly contradicts himself, and when you point it out to him he keeps talking in circles and moves on. You may pass because of his curve, but you won't learn a thing. I tried to teach myself, but the book is almost equally confusing.
This guy is almost impossible to follow and it's not because of his accent--it's because he puts so much on the board at once you can't follow anything he tries to teach you. I failed every single test(50% or lower) but came to every class and I got a B for my final grade. We even played heads up seven up one day....great guy, really.
will come into class and ask you where you left off, so if your confused on something, just ask him to repeat it. give a TON of extra points so if you bomb a test don't get too nervous about it. you don't really use the book, but it's very helpful i definitly recommend reading some of the chapters. really great guy. super nice. love him!
a little all over the place.. Definitly sit in the front. really nice guy, says the most ridiculous things and laughs at himself. he really is great. definitly take him. go to class, he gives points on your AVERAGE for it. also, READ the note packets he gives you. final is all questions from other tests, so pay attention when you go over them!
Good teacher..his lectures can run over the alotted time but he really does try to make you understand the material and not just keep lecturing. His tests are very trying..memerize formulas not definitions..but his curve and class participation points make this a class to take. 80 is an A. bonus points all week long for showing up and participating
Good guy, hard class. Likes to lecture to the board and can't really understand him. Gets really excited about the classes he teaches. Laughs at himself. Tests are ridiculous, but grades easily.
Great teacher, funny too.Come to class and participate he gives you points ON YOUR AVERAGE! Doesn't have an attendance policy, he asks you at the end of the semester how many classes you've missed; be honest because hes not dumb. He does have an accent but you get used to it within a week.take him for any class you need to take. you wont regret it.
his grade scale is wonderful. he has a bad rep but his class really isn't very hard at all. everything that he goes over in class is on the test, which are multiple choice, and there are only 3 grades.
Hes a horrible teacher. most of the time you can't understand him, and doesn't explain the material that well. his grading system is amazing though. a 50 is a C in his class.
Dr. Zelleke would be a lot better to take in a small class. SO NOT TAKE HIM IN A CLASS OF 100PLUS STUDENTS! I know I would have gotten a much better grade if it had been a small class. I know he would have been a wonderful teacher had it merely been 40 people in the class. He's a great person otherwise! And doesnm't liek unions. Go him!
nice funny guy. extremely hard to understand and learn in a big class... do not take him unless it is a smaller class or its impossible. grading scale is crazy 50 is a "C" but dont expect to do amazing its low for a reason think about it.
The multiple choice exams were extremely hard. You literally have to study the textbook. The classes only confused me so I just read the Power Point slides on the book's website and didn't pay attention in the classes that I actually did attend. I don't really recommend this professor b/c I didn't learn anything from him.
Great Prof very Helpful almost convinced me to change my major
Dr Zelleke is one of the best i've had. I enjoyed his class and learnt a lot from him. He is very knowledgeable and delivers well. His text books are easy to read. So what? that he has an accent. Don't we all?! I definately recommend him.
Don't take this guy. I have gotten a headache in every class I have gone to, and I have gone to every single one. His tests are hard because he words his problems so terribly that I cannot tell what the question is asking. When you get your schedule and you see his name on it, drop it ASAP STAT PRONTO.
This class is the biggest waste of my time. DONT take this professor. First of all he has an accent that is hard to understand, also he just isnt a great teacher. Example: most of the class failed the test, so he made the curve 89-60 is a b, 60-50 is a c, 50-40 is a d. I got a d, along with most of the class. Take my word for it dont waste yourtime
I honestly don't understand why everyone is doing so poorly in the class. After every concept he asks if you understand. If you didn't, maybe you should have said something. He goes over the same concept for several class periods to make it crystal clear. I got an A on the first test, and I didn't study. I don't know why people are struggling.
This course is very difficult. And while someone suggested telling the professor that you aren't understanding the material, that does not help. I would recommend taking someone else for Macro if you can. Class is dull and hard to understand. Textbook is helpful, but doesn't help enough. Going to class is the only way to have a chance.
i understand about every 3rd word.. he seems like a nice man with good intentions but.. its just a worthless class to take. stay away.
you can't understand anything he says, he randomly goes off on tangents about the government and then admits he wasted all this time and then lets you out because you learned nothing. Also, the curve is huge. If you can manage to get a 50% on his tests, you'll have a C- for the end of the semester.
Horrible professor, I couldn't understand a word he was saying. Doesn't check attendence but when you hand in the final he asks how many days you skipped. Doesnt teach from the book and says nothing in class to take notes off of. Don't take him! Even with his huge curves majority of the class still got a D
horrible prof.. end of story... dont take him
Difficult to understand and explains stuff really oddly. most of the time i'm completely lost in class....but i went to every class, read all the chapters, studied for hours and got a 22/42 on the first test. and i have a 3.4 gpa. his test are ridiculous but my grade is a c. because of his curve. 100-80 is an A and so on....
He's a nice guy but he is so hard to understand. He jumps around and doesn't really make clear what he is teaching. It doesn't help that he has an accent. His tests are multiple choice and pretty hard.
STAY AWAY. one of the worst profs ever. he gives you notes and says that is what will be on the test, and then its not. Tests are incredibly hard considering he teaches NOTHING. he pretty much just has discussions with the front row. he is allll over the place. He is a nice guy but teaching is definitely not the right job for him.
He's a nice guy, but not the best professor. He's very inconsistent and doesn't follow a planned outline of the course. His handouts are terrible and his tests don't really reflect the material gone over in class. I wouldn't recommend taking Zelleke but if you do, good luck and remember, his curve may save you tremendously.
Do not take this professor. He is very inconsistant and not helpful at all. He says one thing and does another. He says he will meet you but he doesn't show up. He is never in his office during his so called scheduled office hours. HORRIBLE PROFESSOR
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR. He says tests are open notes and then the day of the test, he says they are not. His handouts are not helpful at all. He jumps around like a monkey in front of the class. The only good thing--his 20% curve, but that wasn't enough to help others.
I'd rather set myself on fire, then to ever, ever take this professor again.
Do not take his class. IT IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME EVER
so smart and yet he can't even teach. HORRIBLE CLASS! can't understand a word he is saying, nothing makes sense. the class is HUGE!!! he curves. i failed EVERY test and pulled a C. if you have to take this class, i guess i would go with him. but if you want to learn, find someone else. UHHHHHHHHHHHH dreaded this class every friken day!!!
Most confusing class I ever took. He didn't even talk about the subject and you couldn't understand what was going on. He had a huge curve which helps, but this class makes your eyes cross. He's horrible
boring class. very repititious
DO NOT TAKE HIM. HE IS HORRIBLE.HE HAS A FOREIGN ACCENT THAT IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE. HE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING ANYTHING.HE NEEDS TO FIND ANOTHER CAREER.HE IS ALSO VERY RUDE.HE MADE FUN OF ME EVERY CLASS PERIOD WHENEVER I ASKED HIM A QUESTION ABOUT SOMETHING I DIDNT UNDERSTAND.HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT BOOK MATERIAL; HE ONLY CARES ABOUT THE CHARTS IN BOOK
Contrary to popular belief, he is a nice guy and he is a good teacher. Many students complain about his accent or that he is repetitive. He is repetitive so we understand everything and if you actually pay attention, he is not as repetitive as he seems. Just pay attention and you will actually do well.
Hard to understand and presentation of concepts is poor. He needs to work on teaching skills. But he is fairly nice and approachable. Business majors who need a SOUND knowledge of economics shouldn't take this class. I'd recommend it for those who need it to clear out an elective. Has a huge grading curve, but tests aren't hard if you study a bit.
Talks about modern day issues..None of which you will be graded on..Horrible Prof..
Good news n bad news..very inconsistent and hard to follow, unless you read the book and try to pay attention every day. reading the book is a MUST to pass the test... smart guy, just cant communicate his ideas in an easy to learn method. if you hate to self teach, then dont take it. could b worse
Ignorant people need to get over the fact that he has an accent, because he can be understood CLEARLY. You do need to use the book and keep up with readings, this is COLLEGE. Knows the subject more than well, I recommend him.
Make sure you get the handouts. That's your only hope. He scribbles all over his examples and they're very confusing. I didn't bother paying any attention to him. I just went to class to get the handouts and to do my math homework. Tests are difficult because the questions are unclear. I'm getting an A, but I haven't learned anything at all.
HORRIBLE!!!! Couldn't understand anything. Going to class was a waste his tests were impossible. I got a 50% and it was a C. Horrible Horrible Horrible Horrible. Nice guy but horrible teacher
Nice guy but terrible Professor. He sounds like he is speaking another language. He talks about developing countries and not the course material. Good luck on the Exams. Although the class is pretty hard to fail b/c an F is a C in his eyes
Unintelligible. Avoid at all costs. At first it was entertaining to watch him dance around and babble like a maniac, but even that gets old. If you get stuck with him, get the book cheap from someone, try to figure out what he is asking for on the tests and PRAY! I don't normally review before the end of the semester, but I felt I must warn you!
Fairly interesting teacher once you pick up on the ethiopian lingo. I failed every test and got a C.
knows his stuff but cannot explain it at all..only gives out 2 tests plus the final so reeeaaddd the book! don't rely on just going to class
Economics is a really hard class, but Zelleke makes it even harder. The only way I passed with barely a C was because of his HUGE curve. You can't really understand what hes saying, and you realy don't ned to go to class. Buy the book and do the chapter quizzes online they make it a little more understandable.
has an accent but you get used to it and u'll understand him, rabblers alot w/ random stuff, tests are kinda hard def need to study, he gives out worksheets in class so u need to get them bc thats what the test is on. he doesn't fail anyone and he curves alot an 80-100 is an A and 65-80 a B n etc. i would not take him again
He refers to himself as Girma, which is his first name. his tests are sorta hard, pay attention in class and read the notes he sends you. A bit hard to understand, but eventually you will get used to it. He doesnt take attendance, but he does notice who is there and if you need help in the end, he takes that into account big time!
funny gestures yet still hard to stay awake
Why is he still teaching? Its not him so much as his tests. He doesn't teach to the test AT ALL. Show up for class if you want, maybe he will give you an extra credit point. (He should take a class on teaching and test making.) Nice guy, bad teacher.
Horrible professor! He doesnt know how to teach anything his test are extremly hard the only thing that saved me with a c was his huge curve! do not take him seriously!!!!
Yes his tests are hard. Read the notes he gives you and gather a working knowledge of the material. When people hear about his generous curve, they slack. Simple. Put the time in and you can get an A, don't and you will fail. Just like any other CHALLENGING class.
He compares goats to computers... he is impossible to understand sometimes. He is VERY entertaining but overall, i wish i had someone else because his tests were impossible and there were only 3. He randomly takes attendance so try and go as much as possible. And raise your hand in class he will give you a lot of points!
can't effin teach. he doesn't make his own tests. he's incompetent with technology. he repeats questions on test, which is okay, but he's really confusing when he teaches. it's better if you study independently.
This is class is very difficult especially if you are not interested in the material!! Tests are impossible to pass and he is not clear on anything he teaches. To get a good grade, do well on the small quizzes and find the tutor!
Although he is difficult to understand sometimes and rambles on about things that are irrelevant to class, he will do anything to help students pass. I haven't studied once and have a B+. Go to class and pay attention and you'll do fine. The low-raters and whiners are the ones who don't put work into courses and complain when they fail.
Dr. Zelleke is genuinely a good person. His teaching style isn't traditional. The best advice I can give you is to read the textbook, and come to him with questions. He will go off on tangents, but if you ask him a question he will explain it. Economics is tough. If you put in the work, I can promise you that you will get a good grade.
I warn you, do not take this professor. He is incomprehensible, he is terrible at teaching, he is technologically illiterate, he goes off on side stories that are both uninteresting and annoying, he is bad at answering questions; tutoring is a MUST if you want to pass his classes. Save yourself the time and frustration, pick a different professor
This professor is completely useless. You can barely understand anything that he says when you go into his classroom. He doesn't even make his own tests or quizes, he relies on another professors work from another school. The only way do well in his class is to not go and read the book, if you can understand it.
He is such a horrible professor. I suggest you never take him. His tests are so hard and he says the quizzes are easy but they aren't. He is so hard to understand. He should not be a professor.
I absolutely hated his class. I failed because I could not understand his teaching methods. His accent isn't even the main problem, it's his teaching style. He tends to ramble off about things that distract you from the main topic at hand. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL! Business is my major and now i have to retake the class.
He is a very nice person but he cannot teach. He s really bad at understanding the material and helping us understand it as well. He confused all student at each class more. Is very slow at teaching too.
From a personal standpoint, he's extremely engaging. But that doesn't make him a great teacher. His biggest problem is that his class is very ambiguous; one never really knows how to prepare for his tests. He will take the time to go over everything with you if you visit him during his office hours and if you show up, he'll curve and pass you.
"The price of Weed go up, the demand go down. Do you get me? Are you With me?" Zelleke says with a smile of a twelve year old. "The profit from marajuanna is very good i hear, Yes?"
He had the class teach by having us prepare presentations on each chapter but he constantly interrupts with nonsense. This makes test impossible, but he has a HUGE curve and as for attendance he simple asks during the final how many classes you missed and then judges if he thinks you are telling the truth.
The worst professor I ever had in my life. Has no idea what he is teaching. Also has a dumb accent. Rambles on about useless information. Doesn't cover what's on the test in class. Basically you're guessing at all the answers because he never went over anything during class. I have no idea who hired this guy but clearly the biggest mistake ever!
Say what you want about Zelleke, but his class is an easy A if you follow one piece of advice: Read the hell out of the textbook! All of the test questions were written by the book's author. If you can digest what going on there, you will be golden on the tests. Not to mention, you could probably skip the lectures altogether.
Well, you cant learn by paying attention, thats worthless. You need to study the handouts and the book. However, The class is funny as hell. I just sat there laughing. if you dont pay attention or care its a good class =)
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU NEED IT FOR YOUR MAJOR YOU WILL FAIL he doesnt teach you anything i got a B in the class but that is all from him giveing on line tests that i googled all the answer for and the fact that he gave the grades a HUGE CURVE
DONT buy the textbook for this class, it's useless. I needed this class for my major, and his class was the ONLY class open for my schedule. HE IS SO HARD, his tests are crazy hard, and you CANNOT understand him what-so-ever. You basically need to teach yourself or else you WILL FAIL. GOOD LUCK ;)
hard to understand. will call out/challenge students who leave the room, even to use the restroom or trashcan. misleads about what is and is not on tests. goes on 20 minute rants not relating to coursework and doesn't know how to use the computers at all, and can't read/write english well (couldn't spell America, his own name etc)
Horrible not really helpful hard to undestand.
This guy doesnt even know what are on his own tests. i honestly think the dude is out of it. doesnt teach just reads what he puts on d2l off a projector. HUGE curve on tests but other than that. straight terrible other than never having to go to class.
Definitely knows the subject, just can't translate that knowledge into teaching. Very tough to fail (an F is a 39 or below). I had no need to read the book, reading his notes or attending class were necessary to do well.
There is no doubt in my mind that he understands the subject matter very well. However he cannot figure out how to project this knowledge to other people at all. If he was teaching a class in his native language I'm sure he'd be brilliant, but definitely not as is. However, if you go to class, study the notes he puts online, its very hard to fail.
Failed almost every Exam. Came to class every day. Huge curve. Ended up with a B. Barely did anything
Impossible to fail because of the biggist curve ever.
Most likely an alien that was sent to Earth to confuse humans. There is no way what so ever that Kutztown hired this man.
Had him for macroeconomics and I honestly don't know how this guy is a teacher.. Rarely went to class, failed every test, ended up with a C. Can hardly understand him at all, had no idea what he was talking about. Never opened textbook. He basically gives away grades, impossible to fail. Was not prepared for microeconomics at all.
Zellke sucked !! You never have to go to class. You can't understand a word he says and the class is useless . Also your grade is based on 4 tests, that's it . But a 50% is a C so its kinda easy to pass .
Dr. Zelleke is a nice guy & funny occasionally but he is awful as a teacher. Your grade is based solely on tests which are near impossible because he barely teaches and goes on random rants every class. Says "Are you with me?" so many times a class it gets annoying. My advice: stay away from him. The only good to him is his 20 point curve.
Intro to Econ. You will learn less than nothing. Never go to class. 80+ is A, 65+ is B. Didn't study once and got a B-. Literally guessed on every question. Huge curve. After final will ask how many days you missed. Almost every said 1 or 2 and the class was never more than 10% full when I actually went. Worthless class though a nice guy.
You can't even understand him with his accent. Grading is easy though 80+ is an A, 70-79 B, 60-69 C, and so on. I took economics in high school and have to correct him with some of the stuff he teaches because he is wrong. If you've taken econ before this is the easiest class of your life, if not don't take him.
Worst teacher in history! He tells you to go home and teach yourself! Then when he's done with class he admits that he's a huge waste of time! If you need help and ask for it at the beginning of class, he will barely answer it, and then get off topic for the rest of the class period! By textbook it will be your bible while you teach yourself!
Fantastic human being, just not the greatest teacher
this guy's class felt like some sort of penance. his lessons wandered and had little to do with the tests. luckily his grading scale is highly skewed so that a normally failing grade of 60 earns you a C. also, he'll ask at the end of the semester how many classes you missed, and then grade accordingly.
Yet another professor that cannot teach to save their soul. Taught close to nothing. Probably confused students more than instructed. Students harassed / messed with him. People stood up and left. Really uncomfortable situation. When I took the class a 50% was a C and above an 80% was an A.
An 80 will get you an A in the class. Tests are tough because of lots of spelling errors. It's tough to understand him because of his accent and he never answers your questions. Incredibly nice but never talks about economics. He enjoys talking about politics instead. If you are good at teaching yourself, take this class.
80 gets you an A in the class and he is incredibly nice. He can be tough to understand because of his accent and he never answers your questions. The tests have many spelling errors. If your good at teaching yourself, then take the class. He goes of topic frequently talking about politics and not economics. He apologizes frequently for this.
He's not a very good professor. When I had him, he spent the first ten minutes of each class rambling about political issues that had nothing to do with what we were learning. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
Honestly the worst professor or teacher that I've ever had. He rambles on about things that don't pertain to the material and whenever you ask a question he says he already explained it. He's very unclear and it's confusing when he teaches. Terrible professor, wish I had dropped the class.
He is very confusing and hard to understand. I did not do well on the tests at all! (Fs and Ds) But I earned some extra credit and he curves grades like crazy! I ended up with a B- so I am pleased. He is a very nice guy and lets you make up any test you have missed at the end of the semester. I would recommed him if this is a required course.
Only way I passed was because his extra credit and curve. 80+ is an A. I got a e,d,e on tests and d on final but ended up with a b overall. Don't need to go to class much, sometimes is useful. teach yourself if you want to do good without the curve and with the book. Hard to understand him. But hes so cheery always.
He should be fired.
He's very nice, but just a terrible teacher for an intro course. From the start it was unclear where he was teaching from. he does not assign sections to read, and he jumps from section to section. he skip chapters, and is never sure where we left off in the last class which shows he had no lesson plan. I wanted to learn something but did not.
Zelleke is a really genuine teacher. He is hard to understand but if you ask for help he will help you. Extra credit is always offered. And the curve is crazy, a 50% is a C. I would suggest him or Liao Liao Li in the economics department.
He's extremely amusing as a human being, but is from Ethiopia and therefore prevents a communication barrier. That barrier disrupts the educating process a lot more than one would imagine.
He's very hard to understand and he likes to joke around a lot. He turns off the lights for the powerpoints but it makes it impossible to see the whiteboard if you sit on the sides of the room. He skips around a lot materials wise. I didn't buy the textbook. Instead I use my Micro textbook from the previous year and it works just as good.
He is very very hard to understand. He really only speaks clear english when he's cracking joke. He does have a very large curve on his grades, even after a A is a 80% He is really funny.
Very very hard to understand. Puts notes on D2L, but skips around a lot. Nearly impossible to have a question answered in class and still difficult if you go to his office. Super curved grading makes most people pass. I would not take him again, I got an A in the class and I understand practically nothing, you won't REALLY learn anything. ex credit
He is very hard to understand and strays away from topics A LOT. I barely went to the class, and when we took the final he basically just asked us all how many classes we missed and bases our grade off of that. It's kind of a joke, if you actually want to learn something DON'T take him. Never used the text book either.
Dr. Z can be hard to understand and sometimes you'll think it's a joke but in all honesty he's a really interesting and nice guy! He went to Vanderbilt University and sometimes I think he forgets that he's teaching an intro class and will go into much more depth. Show up to class and build a relationship with him and you'll do fine! Don't stress!
He has that voice that makes you zone out. His tests are nothing about what he discusses in class. Study his study guides, and hope that you pass. Oh by the way an A is 80%+, B is 70%-79%. Great curve!
You can't understand him at all, gives false information and rambles on a lot. Would never take this professor again!!
The best thing you'll get out of this class is a laugh. There is virtually no class structure. He does not cover test material so get ready for numerous office hour visits which I refer to as "babysitting."
opt. attendance.. however saying 0 absences instead of 1+ will increase chance of grade bump. Econ is hard in general. He is helpful if you seek help but hard to understand. notes are helpful. book isn't used. extra credit is hard to get. overall if you have good common sense the class won't be too tough. 80+ is A. i studied pretty hard for 78..
same person that wrote the last review. i'm changing my opinion bc even though i held an A- till the last 2 weeks... i was sick before the final and didn't do as well as i needed to and received a B as my final grade.. I explained it all to him, showed concern, and informed him ab my 0 absences. didn't even get an email answer . now my lowest grade
He doesn't really know how to explain himself. By the end of class you would of only got through 1 slide and he didn't teach what was on the slide.
Professor Zelleke is very difficult to understand a majority of the time. Although he does frequently ask if he is making sense, he wont go over the material again, even if students ask him too. There are not many grades in the class. He also goes of subject frequently and forgets what he was talking about.
His lessons lack clarity. He does not explain himself, you have to focus really hard to understand him with his accent, and he writes really tiny words and unknown symbols on the board. Tests are hard and your only saving grace is his "point" system. But to get points, you have to participate like a boss in class. Textbook is required but not used
The professor regularly repeated himself, to the point that everything taught was said at least 3 times. He may have broken English but he's fairly easy to understand, unless you don't pay attention. An A grade is easily acquired with his grading curve, which is nice since economics is tough. His notes are a valuable resource supplementing the book
Girma is a hilarious guy but not the best at teaching Macro. Hes very hard to understand most of the time. He gives TONS of extra credit to students to receive the highest grade possible. He doesn't really tell you whats on the tests so you kind of just need to read the chapters in the textbook to get a better understanding.
Get ready to teach yourself because this man didn't teach me anything. It's very hard to understand him but once you do he's awful at explaining things if you don't understand. He curves grades because if he didn't honestly I don't know if anyone would pass.
Ended up withdrawing from his class right before the first exam because I honestly did not understand anything the dude was saying. Textbook was never used, and a sign in sheet goes around for attendance.
I wouldn't even call him an adviser, he hasn't advised me on a single thing since starting here. His class is a joke because of his insane curve which makes a 55% a C, a 65% a B, and a 80% an A... so failing would be hard.
He is a fine professor. The lectures might seem convoluted at first, that's because he goes a lot more in depth than what is required for an intro class. If you at least bother to read and are interested in the subject, he'll do whatever he can to make sure you understand the topics. That being said, it's an easy class.
Zelleke is one of the most helpful professors I've ever met. He cares about his students and he wants everyone to do well. His class is extremely hard so you do put in work but if you go to him for help you're guaranteed at least a C. Hardest class, best prof.
Dr. Zelleke is really sweet and so helpful, but he's just not the best teacher. It's hard to follow his lectures; all you've really got are the notes and powerpoints he posts on D2L. He doesn't really follow a schedule, either. It's just a mess, along with everything he writes on the board. Pretty sure I only passed because of his grading curve.
Okay, look. I know below me are dozens of bad reviews for Professor Zelleke, but honestly he isnt that bad. Professor Zelleke is easily one of the most caring profs i've ever had. He genuinely wants his students to understand and do well. His accent is very thick however, making him hard to understand at times. All in all, a good guy doing his best
This man is amazing. This was the easiest class I've ever taken. All he wants is for you to pass. It's hard to understand him sometimes and he teaches very slowly, but if you can get past that, then it's worth it. He doesn't give homework and he gives practice tests that are almost identical to the tests. He is really funny and makes a lot of jokes
I had this professor 2 years ago when we went away during spring break for Covid. His grading curve was insane, a 55% was equal to a C, and tests were open notes ( this was before we were sent home to do it online.) I miss this guy, and hope he is doing A okay. It was the easiest A I ever received, and wish he still taught.
