Professor is very organized which is helpful for an online class. Emails mesages frequently and responds quickly to student's email's. Tests aren't that hard if you study and there is extra credit. She is also willing to tutor in her office if you dont understand conccepts from computer program.

I took her class online. She is really helpful. She makes sure you know all the due dates and keeps you updated on everything. She responds to your emails very fast and is quick to help you out.

Dr. Acosta is wonderful. She loves her students! But this course isn't easy. I'm good at math, but being taught my a computer and having animated fish explain square roots just doesn't help me understand. The book is only good for homework - you can't read it for clarification. I wouldn't recommend this class unless you catch on to math easily.

Dr. Acosta is an amazing teacher, she is constintley checking on everyone to make sure that you completly understand what is going on. She has even postponed test until we all understand the material. There is alot of hw, but it is all optional. She is very personable, and really cares about you, even outside the classroom.

BEST MATH TEACHER I have ever had! She knows what she is teaching and explains all the concepts in a way that is eaay to understand. If you are not the greatest in math, definitely take her. I HATE math and have repeated several math courses. This one I did not have to thanks to Mrs. Acosta. I took this online and learned more than I ever learned in class. She is SO helpful it's just like her being in your home with you every step of the way. She keeps you updated and sends constant reminders of due dates. Very detailed syllabus too.

This is the best online teacher I've ever experienced. I had a unique situation where I couldn't get to a few test and she totally worked with me. She went over and beyond to help me pass this class. She is very nice but a little all over the place. She could be talking about math one minute, then golf the next, making it a little hard to understand. She has this book with worksheets that you have to do which sometimes don't fully cover what you learned in class. But the class is passable.

I took this Intermediate Algebra class online. The syllabus and weekly emails clearly explained what was expected. Tests must be taken on campus, but are not timed. Dr. Acosta replies to all emails and does her best to make sure everyone understands the material and passes the course.

Dr. Acosta is a wonderful teacher. I took her online for MAC 1033. She is very clear with course expectations and is there to help whenever you need it. She is very quick to respond to her students. I am already enrolled in her MAC 1105 College Algebra class. There is nothing negative I can say about her or the class, I learned alot from her.

Ms Acosta was great, very helpful. I took her class online and found it very difficult but my issue was the software she uses in her class not her. It was not user friendly and did not explain the steps in detail. It did not allow you to toggle back to a specific spot you had to review the entire section again which was time consuming. Online class. Awesome Professor, definitely wants you to get good grades. Second time taking this prof. Very accessible via email, will respond even on weekends. Has extra credit discussions for points toward tests and finals. Has a workshop on how to use graphing calculator. Definitely take her.

I took Prof. Acosta's online College Algebra & was terrified because I haven't studied math in 25 years! She is highly organized in her communication & very encouraging. Her class is passable as long as you put the effort into studying & doing the assignments as she expects. She's the best online teacher I've ever had, and I've had many.

I took College Algebra the 6 weeks course with Dr. Acosta and I pass with a B. She is Very helpful and organized! If you are extremely bad in Math like I was, I strongly recommend that you take her. Do not let the online part of the class intimidate you. However I would recommend taking the full semester instead of half because it is extremely fast paced. Take her you will pass the class with effort put into it.

Can anyone say anything bad about Professor Acosta? She responds quickly and always sends reminders about upcoming tests. Provides positive feedback. Emails helpful math links just to provide additional help. Do the homework (as many times as you like to get 100%) and study for the test (on-site) and you can pass. Great class.

Professor is very accessible. Answers emails super fast, even on holiday weekends. Very clear on expectations and due dates. Only issue: Maple TA-the math software. It SUCKS...big time! It marks correct answers wrong (when it hasn't gone down). It's equation editor freezes and is very frustrating to use.

I took her online class for pre-algebra. Her expectations were clear and she was very responsive to any questions. She is the kind of professor that likes to make sure you learn what she is teaching and cares to provide you with extra resources. Great Professor.

Professor Acosta herself is great. Helpful, clear, communicative. However if you take online....be warned. The Maple TA software is HORRIBLE. Slow, freezes, doesn't accept answers sometimes. Very user UN-friendly and frustrating. The book is kind of hard to follow, too.

I have been struggling with this Summer A course, because I do not have a strong foundation in math, After failing 2 tests, She emailed me wanting to see what happened, etc She cared enough to personally email me! Also, I just passed the 3rd test! This class is hard, but she really cares!!

She is really helpful. The Maple program is a little rusty but she does understand when you have problems with it and will give you an extension on homework if you are having trouble. I have taken two math with this professor MAT 1033 and MAC 1105 She is wonderful and extremely helpful. Her test are easy, she allows you to take take them twice and gives a 5 point xtra credit for the exams.Total of four tests must take on campus (only downfall).

Professor Acosta is so helpful and understanding. Her class is very straightforward- everything was through the online program- 4 total lab assignments to scan to her and the 3 tests and final exam at the campus. Some material was challenging, but I've never gotten such a good grade in Algebra.

The best math teacher I had in years! She really cares about her students success. I had to miss some homework sections and a test bc I was sick and she actually emailed me asking me why I had missed them and asked if thre was a problem that she could help me with! I never had any college teacher caring if I did well or not. Wow!

Class is difficult (did I mention how much I hate algebra!) but Dr. G. explains things in detail. Make sure to do the tasks bc if not ur in trouble. No late work for this lady! Professor Acosta is a wonderful professor. Very nice and helpful. Her expectations are clear and she is HIGHLY organized. Took her for a hybrid course, 2 of the 4 exams are take home. Everything she teaches is exactly what is on the exams, quizzes. No makeup for quizzes which count as a test grade, so don't skip class. Take her!

I took Acosta online for MAT 1033. The requirements are lined up for you are the beginning of the semester which made this class easy to me. Each week you have about 1 or 2 homework assignments on Web Connect. Then there are 4 test total. Two timed ones to take at home, then two untimed ones to take at the testing center. Glad I took this professor

I took Acosta online both for MAT 1033C and for MAT 1105 and I'm glad I did. She lays out all the assignments that are due at the beginning of the semester and she is very hands on and helpful with her students. I personally struggled with one or two tests in Mat1105 but she really helped me and did everything she could so I could pass with an A/B.

Considering I took this class online, I absolutely loved taking it with Prof. Carr. She treats it as if it were an on campus class and really communicates with her students. She gives a lot of homework and there are about four tests including the midterm and final exam. The material can be a bit challenging but she'll respond to emails within hours

Took her for College Algebra as a Hybrid class. Expect homework at least 2 times a week. Sets up course for entire semester from the beginning. If you want to complete assignments early you can. Very strict on due dates though. I would go to class as much as possible as she gives the quizzes in class. 2 take home test, midterm and final.

A very good math teacher to say the least. I did her college algebra in the hybrid mode and it was a lot of work to keep up with due to most of the work being online, but if you stay on top of all the homework and quizzes you will make a good grade.

Math requires a lot of practice and time, but professor Acosta was there for any question that I have. Last time I saw algebra was 15 years ago and the way she presented her material make it easy to understand. Over all great professor, I do recommend her class. She provided videos, examples, power points and links for every chapter.

Mrs. Acosta is a great professor, even for online classes! I have never seen a professor put so much effort and care into their online courses. She has a variety of materials available from ppts on each lesson to reviews. She provides her own textbook, but it's very clear and straightforward. The homework is also easier than that of MML.

I LOVED THIS ONLINE CLASS. I prefer online classes anyways but she made it so straightforward that it was really easy to learn and actually remember the content of the material we covered. If you stay a week ahead, this class is super stress free. Also, i never used a graphing calculator before and I learned so much about it in this class. xx

I would never take an online class but I did with Mrs Acosta and absolutely loved it. There are 2 take home tests and 2 on campus tests, buy a graphing calculator!! It will help greatly with a lot of problems. She is also great help through email as well, every time I needed help she would write things out step by step. Highly recommend her.

Her grading structure is simple and gives you an opportunity to make up a low test grade with your final. I took 2 online classes with her and they're the first time I ever aced math! She provided so many resources and her directions are so clear that it would be difficult to fail this class. 2 take home tests and 2 tests in the testing center. She is very quick to respond to emails and provides great and helpful feedback. I gave a 4 for difficulty, only because I am that bad at math.

Mrs. Acosta is an amazing by far one of the best I have had at Valencia. She made the material easy to understand. Also she made the online process easier than I intended it would be. Her lectors are very organized on PowerPoints. She's Very clear and she is very fast at responding & helpful. Easy passing grade if you apply yourself and try.

Always sent out emails if you missed a homework assignment to make sure everything was going okay and let us know when she had updated grades. Quickly responds to emails. Provides slideshows for each chapter for additional help. My first college math class and she made it go by like a breeze. Grade is based off of averages of hw and quizzes mostly.

Dr. Acosta is very active via her emails and gives reminders for due dates almost all the time so if you check your email you are probably going to be on track in class. If you failed a test or quiz email her immediately and she will help you out. She will send you extra review questions with answers to help you do similar questions on the quiz.

There is only about max 3 mathlab Pearson homework assignments a week, and 1 timed quiz or tests every other week, no cams or honorlock. She provides a detailed weekly schedule and a course material guide to follow through the textbook if needed. She sends out daily and weekly emails reminding of due dates and additional help problems with steps.

i loved having dr. acosta as a teacher! you have assignments on mylab math (about 3 weekly) a 5 question timed quiz, a practice test and test for each chapter. she provides step-by-step explanations and a weekly schedule with due dates and assignment problems. no cam or honorlock. if you've taken basic algebra, this class will be easy. got a 100+%

She gives really easy assignments and you have as many opportunities as you want to get the right answer. She provides helpful videos and explanations. After every test she sends personalized email feedback. Great teacher!

Very helpful and quick to respond to questions. Flexible with grading, the "mymathlab" which you take tests and quizzes on does not give partial credit. However, Prof. goes back and individually looks at grades and awards partial credit! Time consuming class but you get what you put into it.

Professor contacts frequently throughout week so check email for lesson examples & reminders for quizzes & tests. Always gives feedback after tests. Her class uses MML. 3 lessons a week, all due the same as the test. Quizzes are due first week of new chapter and only cover 2-3 lessons. Doesnt give extensions. Desmos & Mathway help the most!!

Professor Acosta really cares about her students, and she constantly checks in with you via email to make sure that you're doing well. Honestly, if you don't do well in this class it's just because you're not doing the work, not because the teacher is bad or the content is hard. The math level is similar to that of Algebra 2 in high school.

Professor G was amazing. Class was fully online, and very well-structured. All homework done online, 2-3 homework/one lab each week, and tests for each unit. Responds fast to emails and gives great feedback. Very organized, sends out daily announcements/reminders, and tests are weighted a bit more heavily. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Take her if you can!

Super sweet human. I remember having to send in my work for certain questions on assignments but they were ones you can easily learn and study. If you take notes, you'll easily pass. She is also great with emailing explanations

The beginning of the class can be a little difficult. You have 3-2 homework per week which can be a lot sometimes. She will answer your emails and work with you. She pays attention to her students. The tests can be long and are timed but she doesn't use honorlock or anything like that.

The vibes are there, would 100% take her again for about any math class.She cares a lot and will help you with the work, emails really fast. Gentle email reminders. No Honorlock but the tests are timed. TAKE GOOD NOTES on the videos. Uses mathlab, 2-4 assignments a week (not bad) and labs (attending the meetings is not required online).Take her!

It was an online class, and she sent out reminders constantly, so you had no excuse not to turn in assignments. She would work with you, have a notebook, and take notes from the videos. They help

Very simple class and she had everything set up perfectly to where you could understand the material! You're able to message her at any time. One mandatory Zoom per week, your chance to work on lab. I had 1-4 assessments to do each week which was easy if you take notes based on the videos provided to understand the lesson. Truly a great class!!!

Dr Acosta is one of the best Math teacher. She is very caring, sweet and wants her students to do well. She is very straight forward you need to meet your deadlines which she sends reminders frequently so a miss deadline is on you. Her expectations is to practice what you learn and always ready to help if you have questions. She is amazing.

Great professor does give a lot of work but it's understandable since its math, but overall super easy and great to understand, she also uses honorlock for test but anything else you won't need it.

I took College Algebra online over 2-3 months. Prof was helpful, responded to emails quickly, and answered questions clearly. She does use Honorlock and for exams you must show work. You had a quiz around every 3 weeks with 4 quizzes total, one midterm, and then the final. Quizzes and tests are your grade. Lots of homework but it's easy if you plan
