Professor Bhushal, is by far one the WORST professor's at Montclair State university. Extremely disrespectful towards her students, non considerate, and creates her own rules that do not align with those of Montclair State. Her exam material is completely different from what she teaches in class. In addition to that study guides are also random
Nice and strict but good
Just do the work and you will get a good grade. very nice super respectful. 100% would take her class again. super understanding
Has biweekly quizzes from lecture slides and responds to emails in a timely manner. She was extremely nice and wanted to make our lives easier as students! BUT exams don't completely consist of stuff from lectures or quizzes, so review the textbook on your own. There's no need to buy anything because it's found in the library (We barely used it)
Flexible and understanding if one is communicative. Very helpful explaining material and loves answering questions!
She was sweet and an easy class to get by in. Not the best professor but you can tell she is interested in the course material and knows what she is talking about, but it can be hard for her to convey it. But again if you just do the work and literally just do the bare minimum you will pass, she also gives you opportunities to make up late work
Her lectures are very easy to follow. She trys her best to make the lectures engaging. As long as you put in a bit of effort you will do fine.
Professor Bhushal wants all her students to do well and is incredibly understanding. Be sure to stay on top of Canvas assignments. Tests can be challenging but there are many opportunities to make up for it.
Professor Gita Bhusal is an amazing professor she cares for her students and her lectures are amazing, her quizzes and tests are all open notes and her slides are available at all times on Canvas so there shouldnt be any problems in passing the tests and quizzes
She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities as well as letting you submit any missing work. Great professor overall, be prepared to do group projects and research.
Prof. Bhushal is one of the greatest professors I have ever had at MSU. She presents each of her lectures in a clear and engaged manner, and provides students with a curriculum that emphasizes the importance of preserving our planet's natural ecosystems. I would highly recommend this course for those interested in geology or environmental science.
Professor was understanding and very clear on her topics and instructions
I took Professor Bhushal and she is an amazing professor take her for EAES101 she makes everything so easy to learn and understand. The exams and quizzes were so easy they are the same topics as learned in classes and your able to take the exam at home for your own convenience.
She grades fairly and is extremely understanding if you're in a difficult situation. COMMUNICATION IS KEY! If you take EAES Earth, don't buy the textbook. She makes sure the lectures are easy to understand and is always available when you need help! Very down to earth.
Great professor would take again.
Professor Bhushal, is an amazing professor I took her for EAES101 she makes everything so easy to learn and she very understanding. The exams and quizzes are taken online with the same topics we learn in class. Everything is pretty much very easy in her class.
Professor Bhushal knows
Professor Bhushal's class is extremely straightforward. She knows her audience and understands that not everyone in her class has an inherent in science, and she's able to adjust to that nicely. The work is easy enough for anyone to understand and complete. If you want t knock your science Gened without a fuss, she's your person.
Very nice and understanding. Class is fairly simple, there's no way of failing unless you really don't do anything at all and are missing lots of work. Communicating with the professor when needed is helpful and she is always there to assist.
She is very accommodating for late work or missed work. The test are fairly simple if you study and look over the notes from class. The only con is attendance is mandatory and the labs weigh very heavily on the overall grade.
This course is information and fun. I needed a lab & this was the perfect class and has great balance.
The lectures were informative and looked forward to come to class every session.
Prof. Bhushal was really nice. I would take her again.
Very lecture based and constant reading off slides. Quiz every other class, 2 midterms and a final. Attendance is mandatory.
Professor is very understanding, loves communication. Has a bit of an accent when speaking but still is understandable.
Professor Bhushal is a very nice and engaging professor who kept the class interesting. I would take another class of hers again
Prof. Bhushal was very understanding towards the entire class, allowing us to take exams at home so we didn't have to come to campus. All quiz/exam content comes straight from lecture slides that she posts before class. She often asked what way of teaching would be more effective to our understanding, and always displayed genuine consideration!
I highly recommend this course for those who want to take Planet Earth because Professor Bhushal is very understanding and fair in grading. I found this course to be very interesting and I rarely had homework. Furthermore, reaching out to the professor is very simple and easy. The quizzes and tests are very simple and straightforward.
She gave extra credit opportunities and her lectures were clear and concise. She gave quizzes that had 5 questions each quiz. Her midterms consisted of the questions from the quiz so it was easy. There was a group project which consisted of a group presentation and paper.
Professor Bhushal is a breeze to work with compared to professors he had in the past. She appreciates class participation. She gives you chances to make up work if you've missed things. She gives two midterm test and drops the lowest grade. Professor makes the exams open note. She is very understanding and easy to work with. I would take her again
She was a very good professor, got her points across and I enjoyed learning from her. Would hope to have her again for another class!
Great professor, answers any questions you have and if you pay attention to the lectures you will do fine on all of the assignments. Very easy course to pass.
Professor Bhushal is amazing. Expectations are clear and she is great at ensuring engagement. Great grader.
Will have to read for quizzes and test but not hard class
Great class and easy quizzes
She great! I recommend
A nice professor who gives lectures on slideshows and then open note quizzes/exams! Nice class for getting into the major or completing the Gen Ed credit.
Amazing professor, one of the best at Montclair State University. Prioritizes learning and teaching over just grades. Learned a lot and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a great teacher!
She's very nice and understanding. She doesn't give out much homework and teaches in a way that guides you towards the final.
This professor is great! She definitely cares about her students and their well being and will do whatever she can to make sure that everyone is passing her class and with a good grade. Not much homework, just show up to class. If you can't be in class just email her and she will work with you. I would definitely take her again.
She loves to say "okay" and once you pick up on it once, it is all you can hear. She doesn't make her own PowerPoints, she loves to just read directly from the slides. She gets annoying to listen to, she loves to stop her lectures if you aren't paying attention. Everything within the class is super easy recommend taking, but def bring headphones
Class was easy, quizzes are easy and the one final project is also pretty simple. She talks for the entire class period and never lets you leave early.
One of the best teachers in Montclair State University, prioritizes genuine teaching and learning over memorizing and forgetting information. Definitely a very chill teacher and an easy A+ if you want.
She is a great professor, although it may be lecture heavy. Her slides are easy to follow through. The textbook is pretty heavy with readings but you're able to understand in detail during her class. She is willing to accommodate her students and makes quizzes/tests and finals open notebook which is nice.
Overall a good teacher for this course, class is very easy and you will get an A if you just complete all the easy homework.
Honestly one of the easiest classes ever. Topics were straightforward and the material wasn't hard to learn. All of the exams were multiple choice and open note because we asked her to do that. Textbook isn't needed at all. She's very caring and definitely wants to make sure everyones passes. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Labs are simple.
She was a fun teacher :)
Final paper is a little brutal, but this class isn't too hard!
Awesome teacher, she cares and wants you to do well. She allows class voting on what format exams and tests should be, and offers so much extra credit, best at Montclair!
She is a very nice person and is caring and understanding towards her students. She does not grade hard but does expect good work and class participation. The assignments are easy and she gives lots of opportunities to earn a good grade as well as extra credit opportunities. Would 100% recommend.
easy class, participation matters, and she wants her students to succeed.
Good teacher and the class was pretty easy and enjoyable.
Easy Grader you just have to keep up with the homework, but she gives you leniency when it comes to handing it in late.
This person is super flexible and really knows how to roll with the punches, which makes teaming up a breeze. They're easy to talk to and always open to different ideas, so working together feels smooth and fun.
The classes mainly consisted of a PowerPoint slide which would take up majority of the class time. She made sure that there weren't any misunderstandings about the material. In class activities and homework were easy. I would recommend taking her course.
Great Professor! super easy class along as you do the work. She's very open to late work and is kinda lenient. Lots of lecture but it's pretty basic simple stuff.
Professor is thorough with lectures and gives chances for extra credit. Appreciates class participation and always leaves room for questions.
Great Professor! Taught the class using prepared slides that are shared with us. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Exams are based on our preferences and can be open book, multiple choice, and take home. One big report that's spaced out throughout the semester. Overall a simple Gen Ed class to take!
She is a thoughtful & approachable professor. Depending on the choices of the students, offers flexible exam formats such as multiple choice,open-book,or take-home. Makes sure everyone understands complex ideas by encouraging questions and providing straightforward explanations. Despite the pace sometimes, she still comes highly recommended overall.
The professor is so sweet and makes the lessons easy to understand with slide shows and videos. She also gives many opportunities for extra credit. Homework, in-class assignments, and projects are easy to do and understand. I would 100% take her class again.
Very fair, very understanding, and gives you all the help you need to succeed in her class. Make sure to work on projects and papers beforehand but besides that would take it again.
Very kind, willing to work with you if you communicate. Labs are fun!
Great class I learned a lot. Not too difficult and very fair grading.
Great class I learned a lot. Not to difficult and very fair grading.
Gives out good material and is very fair with grading. Would take again.
I don't understand why she only has 4.5 stars when she only should've had 5 stars. She is an amazing professor, the reports and final can be a little brutal, but as long as you follow the work, you'll be fine. Most of the reviews are so true once you start taking her class. She makes science easy and fun, quizzes are open notes based on the lects.
At first, I thought the ratings were misleading as I was finding a science class to take. But at the same time it wasn't so bad. Prof Bhushal was so sweet and nice and explained the work in detail, 2 midterms and one final based on our preference to make our life easier, and labs with Prof Odera was so fun and easy! I enjoyed her class!
She is an amazing professor, and as long as you follow the work, you'll have the best grade. labs with Prof Odera was so easy. Definitely would take again.
This professor is one of my favorite ones so far. She is lenient with grading and is working with you to ensure you do the best of your ability. As long as you attend lectures and stay on top of the assignments you'll pass. The labs are also relatively easy. I had fun with this class.
The professor is really kind, and it is easy to get a good grade in her class as long as you do all of your assignments. Reading the textbook before class would help with quizzes although I don't think it is completely necessary, but there definitely are some things that we do not go over in the lecture.
Her class was very simple, she is a very nice professor and is very open to questions. If you needed help on anything she would be more than willing to do so
She wants to help her students pass her course. Quizzes are in-class, but you can use your notes. There's one big research project that you work on throughout the semester. Assignments are completed during class and are related to what you learn in the lecture. It's easy as long as you do your work!
She's generally sweet and understanding that most students in the class were there because it was a gen-ed. She graded lightly and the work is generally simple. You can use notes for the quizzes. There's a big research project due at the end of the semester but you do a little at a time over the course of the whole semester.
Great Class, took as a gen ed but learned a lot of new stuff and also a great refresher as i don't remember a lot of the previous science i learned in middle school. Easy course and great professors just attend class and participate.
this professor is knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the subject. The lectures are informative, though sometimes a bit fast-paced or dense. Assignments are manageable but can be unclear at times—clarification is usually needed. Grading is fair, but expectations aren't always transparent.
Prof Gita Bhushal was amazing very informative and helpful. When I joined this class I was super nervous due to being a comm major and I am not the best at science. But she helped me throughout the whole semester. She's very flexible and gives you the option to take exams at home! Lab Assistant: Odera Umeh was amazing definitely recommend!
Professor Bhushal is a very kind and caring professor. She values student feedback which is rare. I was worried a lab gen ed would take up a lot of time as a junior, however the work is super manageable! Be sure to always go to labs and lectures, the exams are easy if you pay attention. The projects are fun as you get to pick a topic!
Professor Bhushal is a very nice teacher and is willing to help with any questions. She also makes sure that the class is up to date and gives credit for made up assignments. She is fair to the class and she gives good advice on how to improve. She always reminds the class to always reach out to her if there are any problems.
very understanding
Professor Bhushal's class is really interesting and fun. Homework is understandable and her lectures are very informative. I have learned a lot in this class and I recommend anybody to take her.
Professor Bhushal was very knowledgeable about what she taught in each lecture. Lectures are a mix between videos and slideshow presentations, making it a little hard to focus at times, but it still is interesting. There is a big research paper due at the end of the semester, but it is manageable!
She is very kind, and the homework isn't too hard. Grades are weird sometimes.
I enjoyed this class even though I took it as a gen ed course.
Professor Bhushal was a great professor who genuinely cared about her students. Lectures are frequent, but not difficult to understand. She's very understanding and answers emails generally fast.
Prof Bhushal is a wonderful teacher. She throughly goes into alot of material that is packed into the 2 hour and half class, if you pay attention in class you will pass this class. She is understanding if you need some extra time for an assignment + is open to the suggestions of students and how to run the lectures + quiz styles. Labs are mandatory
Very Good Professor. Gives good feedback and class is fairly simple. Gives multiple open note quizzes and only 2 exams as well as a research paper. The work is easy to understand and the exams are not very difficult. Overall, the professor is very understanding and knowledgeable about her subject. Would 100% take the class again!
Good air, professor. No complaints, fun, informative, and easy class.
She is a very accommodating professor and acknowledges the student lifestyle. Very willing to alter homework and final project dates, open to feedback, and seems very genuine about her students. Although the material was boring, she did try to not make the class feeling like a snooze fest. Would definitely take her again.
The content of the class was interesting and relevant. Professor Bhushal is very understanding and accommodating. The only downside for me is that it was very lecture-heavy so it can get a little bit boring at times.
Professor Bhushal is kind. She is open to feedback about her teaching methods and perspectives. She is also understanding about life coming up. Her lectures can be boring, but I don't think this is her fault because the material she has to teach us for the course is a lot of facts and memorization. I'd take this class again for my requirement.
Great Professor! Worked well with students and extended assignments if emailed before due date.
Honestly, she's such an understanding professor. She really listens when you communicate with her, which is a skill not all professors have. She wants you to do your best and truly understand the material, which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend taking her if you need a science class for a GenEd.
She's understanding
Great,understanding, and caring teacher.
Easy class
Take her!!
Professor Gita was excellent at explaining the material. Even though the readings were long, she always gave us a 10-minute break, which helped. She was also very understanding and always allowed you to improve your grades. Highly recommended if you like to learn without too much pressure.
She is a good professor. my only problem is she gives too much presentations and papers for a science class
One of the best professors I've had! Super easy-going, not strict at all, and can be flexible with deadlines as long as you communicate with her. They really care about students and are always willing to help. The class was stress-free, and I actually enjoyed learning. Highly recommend if you want a chill but informative experience.
She's honestly really great. She makes her exams open-noted. When we had some miscommunication with the assignments, she pushed the dates back to give us enough time to do them.
Very straightforward assignments. Mostly lectures and online work. She is very lenient and works with students for feasible due dates :)
Professor Bhushal is super kind! I appreciate her passion for the environment and the knowledge she has to share. I like certain assignments she has, for example, the “In the News” project where you have to make a slideshow or paper of answering questions about environmental news. My only suggestion would be have more interactive lectures.
Professor teaches well and keeps the things very simple for the most part. She grades very leniently and is down change things for your benefit if you ask her.
Good professor.
The class was really simple and the assignments/quizzes she gave were online and easy to do. She also takes into consideration student feedback. A very stress-free class.
Lectures can drag on a bit, but other than that, zero complaints. Not a hard class.
Lectures could drag on for a bit, but really other than that no complaints. Not a difficult class.
She does her best to help students perform in the class and is very understanding; fair, and respectful
I really enjoyed this professor a lot
Super long labs that were very time-consuming, but other than that easy. Not too harsh a grader and an interesting class.
The only issue was long labs.
I think Professor Bhushal was a good professor. She was not too harsh of a grader. I think the labs were VERY long though and I did think that she needs to be more open to allowing students to submit their work a different way if they cannot upload via canvas. Overall, not a bad professor.
Great Professor and course but work was a lot especially the labs
Professor Bhushal was a solid instructor. She wasn't too strict when grading, which made things easier. However, the labs felt really long, but if you get it done, it's an easy A class.
Good professor cares for your grades. If you do all the assignments you will be good but the labs are heavy with a bunch of questions.
Good professor, cares for the students. If you do the work you will be fine but the lab questions were a lot.
She's a good professor, answers emails quickly, is very kind, and knows what she's talking about. It's just A LOT of work. This was my science Gen Ed, and I felt like a science major with the amount of work this class had. Heavy lab work every week, along with a couple of other weekly assignments. Just stay on top of it, and you will do fine.
Although the labs were quite lengthy and repetitive, I learned so much. This course was definitely interesting.
Really enjoyed this class and I learned so much. Labs tend to be long and repetitive, but not so bad if you plan out your work in advance.
Professor Gita's concise, fast-paced course felt shorter than its two and a half months. It simplified how human factors turn natural hazards into disasters and was an easy GPA booster.
Professor Gita's fast-paced course felt shorter than its two and a half months. Even if you've taken online courses before, this one made understanding how natural hazards become disasters due to human factors incredibly easy and was a great GPA booster.
the teacher was alot of labs and test.
The professor is good, she teaches course very well, and there are a lot of assignments, but she uses good feedbacks, and she is easy to approach.
lots of easy labs
The class experience was great. The professor is super caring and willing to help!
She was very understanding with granting extensions! Reach out to her if anything! She's really sweet!
Lots of work and labs are heavy and repetitive but just stay on top of your work and you'll be fine
The labs are a lot of work but it is more tedious than hard. As long as you stay on top of work the class is very easy just pretty time consuming.
This class was not hard at all! It is an online course so they are required to give you an accurate amount of work for the credits you receive. The labs are not hard, they just take time as most are 65+ questions. You should take Professor Bhushal if you need this class, she responds quickly to emails and allows extensions if needed.
She is a caring teacher and was accommodating on switching the due dates so we had more time to complete the assignments for each week. Some of the labs were a lot of questions but I'm pretty sure that's not her fault and is just the curriculum. I would take her again.
I really enjoyed this quiz.
took this as a half semester course and even though it was condensed and online you could tell she really wanted us to succeed!
