The tests were very easy, but the final was pretty hard. He's a pretty good teacher. Only the final requires effort, the other tests were easy.
Tests are easy. I went to class once a week. VERY FEW homework problems!!!

Very hard to understand everything that he said. Barely any homework which made class even harder. Does not like to answer questions, brushes questions off. Tried and tried till the day before drop add with no success. Dropped class. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
He knows his math & explains step by step what to do. The other professors make you feel like you should already know Stats but Ghai teaches it to you like it was your first time seeing the stuff. I took bekker last semester & got a 60 so i dropped & took it with ghai this semester & got an A+
Very good teacher. Highly reccomended. He takes each topic step-by-step and slow enough that everyone in the class can understand and comprehend it. There is no need to ask questions because he gives explicit examples and many of them. Easy "A".
This guy is awesome. The nicest prof I have ever had. Very resonable - informative yet not impossible.

This guy sucks. He had to be the worst professor I had at FIU. He monotonously rambled through the subject matter and never made any mention of what the point of any of it was or how/where/why it had any practical use.

his class is easy!!! he goes over everything slow and if you ask him he will repeat everything all over. he is really boring i fell a sleep a few times but**** just do the hw and you'll do fine
His tests are not hard, just do the homework and you'll do fine. You don't have to memorize anything, he allows you to bring the formulas the day of the exam. Class can get REALLY boring at times, but it's do-ble (most of the time!). I would recommend him, like I said, it's not hard.

Probably one of the best Stats teachers at FIU. Like most that teach Stats, he to has an accent. But he teaches slowly and with lots of patience. After a couple of classes you will understand him. Allows formula sheets during test. He is a GREAT teacher.
Simply take down all his notes and write yourself a good formula sheet---you will do great. At first may be scared because the accent is strong---but you will get used to it; perhaps the most laid back, easy going Finance teacher. 7 % added to every test.
he is one of the few great math professors here at FIU. he has an understandable accent and takes his time to thoroughly explain every aspect of the material covered. only downside is that he doesn't give reviews for his exams, that's your responsibility.
He's class is a litte boring. but he's a good professor. Take good notes and do the execises, and you'll be good.
I don't know what the other people are talking about but this man is a HORRIBLE teacher. Yes the class is easy but you won't learn a thing from him he goes over the material over and over again which is really annoying he also mumbles alot. His testa are easy and he allows you to use a formula sheet. Practice the hw problems and you should be alrit
Take notes,do hw,do good in his class...He goes over the material very slowly,over and over...so don't rush him! People tried rushing him and it was annoying; they didn't get it....he teaches that way, like a sloth!! Get over it...that's why I signed up for the class, because he is repetitive! Repetition is the mother of all learning people...he also tries to crack jokes, the attempt is funny.

Take it literally when he says he asumes you know nothing about statistics because he will explain thuroughly! to the point of boredom!! so seriously take this class if you are really really bad at math. he really wants you to understand the material.
Pretty Easy, I barely went to class, nor did I pay much attention and I passed with a B. If I had shown effort it would have been an A. If you know nothing about stats, he is a good prof. to choose.

Whatever you do....Make sure you study for the final...I basically had an A in the class for the first two exams and probably flagged the final i'm pretty sure...I ended up with a B-. Goes to show you not to take your grade for granted. He's a great teacher though. Take him for sure.
I have always received A's in my math and accounting classes. Rec'd a c- in this class. Felt I got a B on final, but clearly must have rec'd a d. I'll never know. Asked to see my final grade...emailed him twice. Totally avoided my request. Guess I am just "another one" that gets to repeat this class.
Definately recommend this prof. you if struggle with Fin this is the class to take.
He's a really nice professor, however he writes kind of small so you may have to sit up front if you're near sighted. Don't rush him when he's explaining a lesson because then he'll end up confusing you. 3 exams, the 1st n 2nd one are each worth 50 points and the 3rd one (final) is worth 100 points.
i found him very difficult. his class are extremely boring. theres 2 tests worth 50 points and the final is 100 pts. i would not recommend him. he barely gives homework, no reviews, and half of what u study isnt even on the test.
good professor. teaches you like you have never seen statistics before. the only drawback is that his grading scale really sucks. ex: a 92 is a B+
hard subject but decent professor. he does teach you as if you've never seen math before, which is a good thing. 2 exams worth 25% each, final is 50%. harsh grading scale & doesn't curve but let's you use cheat sheets. i suck at math, studied my ass off & got an A so it's possible.
Didn't like his teaching style or grading scale. He writes small and I wouldn't really recommend him. Very nice though.
this professor treats you like you're an idiot, and will make you feel so if you ask a question. He's good at explaining but class is based on 3 exams [2 25% and the final is 50% of the final grade] no extra credit. Maybe he's worth taking on a normal MW or TH class but NOT on Saturday!! You have all been warned. plus he is so BORING!!
super boring, explains well but his grading scale sucks... a 92 is a B. 2 tests-50% and 1 final-50%.. My best subject is Math and this is the first time that I get a C... THIS GUY CRACKED ME UP, because he was so clueless of his surroundings HA ..but the class is NOT hard, just don't take it for granted. keep up with the class. and study for each exam. keep a high average because YES the grading scale is WACK. No convincing him to give more extra credit..not happening, i tried!

he has an accent and is a little hard to understand at first. he goes so slow that its boring, but this way you can totally follow along and understand. he does tons of examples but isnt very helpful if you go to him after class with questions. You NEED to take notes and do examples, but for math it's pretty easy. recommended.

He goes VERY, verry slow so that you cn really understand the lesson. The tests are average: easy if you study but difficult if you don't. Just take good notes and you'll do fine.

Failed Stats with Ramon Gomez so took Ghai in the Summer. It was a 3 hr once a week class. Boring, but pretty easy. 3 Tests. 33% of grade each test. Has an accent but easy to understand. Nice guy and helpful if you need it. Show up, pay attention and take the tests. Very easy to get a C, which you need cuz its a Gordon rule
This professor is completely boring. He will put you to sleep and with his accent it's hard to understand what he is trying to say. Attendence is not mandatory. If your not good in statistics find someone else to take the course with.
Man, what an easy class. He's boring, he'll put you to sleep, but he has 3 tests, and part of the tests is T/F. Attendance is not mandatory, and he does about one problem per class. Extremely easy.

I think he is a good teacher and not hard to understand. He explains things a little slow (boring) and sometimes teaches the same thing in two classes, BUT it is great for those who are not good at math. I recommend him. Two test(25% each) and afinal (50%). Should pass the class easily with a C.
This professor is very good at teaching. he can be boring but goes slow. 2 tests during the semester 25% and a 50% finals. he takes his time to explain the content but this class is mathematically demanding. do not underestimate this class because it will come back to bite u. i found the fianls extremely challenging.

I took intermediate finance, this guy is great!!!!!! He levels out the class on basic math and then develops the hard stuff on top of it. Make sure you get the hand out from the duplication center... Follow some of the problems and you will get it.
This course is definitely not an easy one. He explains everything clearly. However he doesn't review before the tests. He gives partial credit but not much. Do the HW if you want to pass the class.
This guy should retire, he comes tired to class, he can barely talk, the worst part is that he is a human version of the book which by the way it suxs.he will explain u stem and leaf in 2 weeks, what a waste of class time, take statistics with some other professor. because he will put u to sleep in the first day of class , i guarantee it :)
He is a good teacher. But sometimes he just goes over the same things again and again and it gets on your nerve. He spends most time explaining concepts and not much time working out problems. Other than that..he is fine.

He is boring but he is a good (not great) statistics teacher he goes slow enough for the ones that need it and it is okay with me,He does not give much homework at all so be careful because you need to know the material so you have to do some on your own, but he explains pretty well.
This teacher covers material very slowly (he took an hour on stem & leaf plots!), make sure your phone is charged for some quality texting time. You don't have to come to class, barely any HW, and there are only 3 tests.
Prof. Ghai..he did nothing all semester, he doesnt teach. point blank. doesnt reply to post...so youll be on your own, 3 exams, one project, no curve -ever. hardest finance class. exams 30 que -3 hrs.
Totally recommend this professor. Slow and boring but he is extremely helpful and easy to follow along. Examples used during class are the questions asked on the test. Got an A on the first 2 tests, but exam was difficult. Just do the homework and go go go to class. He's useless outside of class.
He is so boring. His first two exams were super easy, but the final caught me off guard. I ended up with a B+ in his class and rarely ever studied. If you want to learn Statistics, avoid him. If you want to pass without taking up too much of your time, take him.
He is super slow and boring, but at least you never get lost. Just write all the notes beofre he erases them and go back to texting your friends. I got 100 on first 2 test but failed the final and got a B- in the class...study for final! However, recommend him for easy grade. No curves..
This professor is extremely monotonous. All of his classes are lectures without audiovisual aids. He knows the subject, just the delivery is very heavy.
Try to avoid this prof, and for god's sake DONT take the online class. The same class with the same prof on ground and you get an A easy. Online is completely different, no interest whatsoever for students, doesnt reply to post and gives new material one week before the final.Extremely frustrating class, no curving at all, just doesnt care...
Pleasant old guy, a little boring. He explains everything in detail, works out some problems for you if you ask. Exams are easy but don't underestimate the difficulty of the material. Do all the homework, make your own equation sheet with *everything* on it and make sure you know how to integrate by the second exam and you'll be fine.
Material explained VERY thoroughly. His two exams were very easy, final a bit harder (it does include everything) but you can use a 'formula' sheet in all three tests which he does not check. BTW if you have the old tests, they are 'very' similar.
Tough class. Lots of really long equations that computers now always calculate. Really nice guy, but accent makes following concepts more difficult. Homework assignment on Excel was really easy, exams are not. Allowed to bring "cheat sheet", but you better understand how to use the equations for all possible problems.
I love this guy I took his class in the spring 2011. He's very helpful and kind. I took this class online.If you keep it real with him he will help you. I had miss a quiz online and he couldn't open back up the quiz, but he took my 2 quiz & combine them together. So! This Professor is very awesome. I recommend him. He gets an A+
He grades really really rough, his indian accent is pretty hard to understand and his teaching method is pretty bad since he teaches SO much theory that when it comes to the actual work you're lost. Take another professor for stat that you can understand better if you can.
Sweetest guy on earth. Class is veryyy easyyyy and at the same time you will learn a lot!!! Attendance is optional but if you go he will work problems in class veryyy similar to the test, Strongly recommend you attend class. Guy has accent but you will understand him. Take him!! Easy A, plus you will learn!!

Had this class for summerA & was the worst experience I've had w/an online class. Prof doesn't get back to emails promptly. Book has MANY errors that constantly needed to be brought to his attention. SEVERAL issues w/exams which were never fixed. If you are good w/finance & can get help outside of school go for it, if not choose another class
This class is super easy, especially if you have stats background. Believe me, it will be like a review. Has both stats i and II stuff. Take him. He is fantastic!!!
I am not a math person but ghai was great. he is super easy as long as you go to class. his test are straight forward and he doesnt throw any nonsense at you. take him if you want a good grade in stats
Class is super easy. If you have stats background, you do not even have to go to class. Easy A if you already have taken Stats I & II and understood it. You will probably struggle otherwise. He is awesome. gives extra credit for exams.
Easiest professor alive. you can take your own formula sheets & book in the exams which helps a bunch. Also if you have stats background like me you don't even have to go to class. He's super nice and cares about the students. I would def recommend him. :)
NOT recommend! The material itself is not difficult, but this professor makes it so difficult. Had to teach myself and get tutored to understand b/c he was useless. When you ask a question he rambles on for 10 mins and giggles at you. He is VERY analytical when he grades the exams. Easy COURSE but not good professor. Passed w/ no help from him
Not a good professor at all. Can barely understand him. Not helpful with your questions. You won't learn from him you'll teach yourself. Tests not too hard because he lets you bring your formula sheet but he grades hard. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Took this class Fall 2013. He is really nice and he has an accent, but it's understandable. Lectures can be boring. Three exams and he gives bonus points. He assigns homework problems to practice for the exam, but he does not go over them. Not that bad of a class.

Okay his class is not THAT bad!! Yes he's super boring to listen to but the class itself isn't hard. If you have old tests they are super similar and he gives free extra credit on exams. The final was EASY. I don't know why everyone is saying it was impossible. You can use "formula" sheets where you can write whatever because he doesn't check.
Speaks super soft and barely understandable. Sat in his class for the whole time and still would not know what he was teaching. It's passable as long as you go before exam day and know what sections are being covered.
I found this class extremely easy. Do and understand the homework problems, develop a robust formula sheet, and you'll do great on the exams. The exams are very easy and similar to HW. Now you won't learn anything in class, because he's so hard to listen to, so you'll have to study. But take him. The class isn't challenging and he's a nice guy.
Took this class during Summer A. Just two tests with half of the material on each one. He gives extra credit. The class is long and boring but if you go to class and do the homework he assigns you'll pass both tests. The material isn't as hard as it seems and the tests are similar to the homework and what he teaches in class.
Ive always been fine with math until it came to this class. Literally probably the hardest class I've taken. And I'm sure if there was a different teacher available to teach this course well over half the students would take that teacher. He talks more than he teaches.

If you go to class, take notes, and study for the exams you will be fine! A lot of people don't show up to class and complain that they do bad on the tests, but that's because the material can be tricky and it's hard to teach it all to yourself so go to class!! He really isn't that bad of a professor
The book is required, but available for free online as a pdf, so look for it before shelling out money. The course material is basic stats, but Ghai isn't the best communicator, so it's more difficult to learn than it really needs to be. If you're poor at math/stats, find another instructor.
Just go to class, take notes, and understand the homework and you should be able to easily pass the class. He's not the greatest teacher, but the information is basic enough that you can pickup on it quickly if you keep up and do the HWs. 3 exams determine your grade.
If you have a strong background in stats, attendance is not necessary. This class will be an easy A. Dr. Ghai's lectures are boring & irrelevant. You are missing nothing by not going to class. The book is easy to read, so just do problems to prep. He lets you use a cheat sheet for every exam. He never pays attention so I used my HW as reference.
Do NOT take for your first statistics course; ONLY take if you're really into theoretical math. Grade based on 3 tests, for which he takes away points for little things; I got a B on my first test, even though I got all the right answers! He is a great mathematician, but a terrible teacher. Very difficult to understand. Book avail online as a PDF.
Took this class fully online because it was the only option. He never answers emails.exams are completely different than problems assigned. I couldn't see exam answers because it was locked, and he never replied to my email. I emailed him 10 times, and he only replied once. Never take this class fully online with him
He doesn't care about the students if they understand or not the course material. No homeworks, reviews or discussions before taking a quiz or exam. Quizzes and tests are not easy. No extra credit opportunity.

I don't like his style of teaching. It's only lectures, no practice, no problems, no reviews before exams. Your whole grade is made up of two exams and the final, nothing else. Lectures are very long and not very engaging.
