He gave a quiz every class but would let you know what it would be over beforehand. The tests and quizzes were easy and the only other hw is a paper and presentation over a book at the end of the year which he graded easy on. I would recommend him to people who go to class most of the time.
one of the very, very best!
He was the worst teacher I ever had. His quized contridicted his lectures and the book, so I never knew which answer he wanted. He knows his stuff, butas a professor he couldn't teach. The only learning I did in his class was reading the text and analyzing it myself. I rearranged my sechedual so I wouldn't have to take his class again.
His classes were REALLY boering. He talks about himself alot. The tests were kind of hard but he let us use notes sometimes. Quiz EVERY class! I would recommened trying to get another teacher but if you HAVE to take him its not the end of the world!
I thought the class was fine. Some work involved, but this is college, right? He was fair, though his tests were a bit difficult--mainly due to an extreme lack of test preping materials. (no real study guides, lectures move to quick for note taking, and so on). Still, I would recommend him as an instructor, he isnt easy, but not impossible.
He's not too bad. Pretty nice guy, laid back. Quiz every class but he tells you what to study(Textbook is a must). You get to make you're own notes for the test and gives you the essay questions ahead of time. I liked him. You must do one paper at the end of the class and one presentation. I didn't do either of these and still got a C.
I ended up getting an A in the class even though I was below the cuttoffs even after they were lowered. I thought this guy was very fair in grading, and I didn't even know I could use a note sheet until the final, which I got like an 82 on. The post below cracked me up so much about not showing up. Not a bad teacher, hes fairer then most at Skuh
Glen is very knowledgable in the area he teaches. He tries to relate his life to class to give a different perspective than text book monoatony (sp) I am very motivated by Glen's teaching styles, he is up front, honest, and helpful. In my book Glen as a prof. is awesome!
Would definitly definitly recomend this teacher! So nice and so easy! Very honest and fair. Loved him!
Stuff on his tests was NOT in the material. I don't think a single person passed that class with a B or higher. If you don't have a lot of time to commit to the class pass on this teacher.
Glen was an awesome teacher! He told you what was going to be on the quizzes and tests. If you did not study, that is your own fault. Glen was very informative. I wish more teachers were like him!I would definitely take this teacher!
Glen is a really nice teacher however the material he lectures on in class, and the handouts he gives you does not match whats on the tests. He does allow you to use a crib-sheet but if you dont know what information to put on it it is useless. Also, the test questions are long and confusing.
I didn't know there was a crib sheet until later, and scored about 87 on the first test. I read the chapters in the textbook, and I'm not too smart. When I used the crib sheet later for the final, basically didn't have to think. Great business teacher, I payed attention a lot in class. Got A.
Glen was a great teacher, sometimes the material he presented did not match up with the test but if you attend class and pay attention it should be easy. He was helpful if needed and tried to relate the material to current events
I could not stand this class. He always got off topic and tried to relate the class to things that no one understood. His tests are extremely hard since he doesn't go over much in class even when he lets you use a cheat sheet. Although he told the class that if 'you try you'll receive a C'. I do not recommend.
Glen was an awesome teacher to have, however I could not learn from him. He did not go over anything that was going to be on the tests so preparing was impossible. All I learned about what his daughter and his hate for the middle east.
Unorganized when presenting his lectures and gets off topic often. He doesn't teach the chapters in order and jumps around a lot between random hand outs and the book material. He gives exams over 6 chapters at a time and doesn't specify what to study, so it is extremely overwhelming. Overall a nice guy, do not recommend as a professor.
You have to be able to use your book and basically teach yourself. Glen is a nice person and really relatable, but his teaching methods are confusing. He uses a lot of acronyms and he goes too fast for note taking. He gives lots of EC opportunities. As long as u read go to class and do the EC, you'll pass.
ENJOYED THE CLASS, LECTURES ARE INTERESTING, FEW POP QUIZES, EXAMS- ONE PAGE FRONTBACK NOTES ARE ALLOWED. POP TESTS 8-10 QUESTIONS LISTEN TO LECTURE HE GIVES CLUES. ATTENDANCE IS A MUST!!! LOOK FORWARD TO OTHER CLASSES. EXTRA CREDIT ALLOWED
Glenn is a good teacher all you have to do is show up and read the chapters! many people get confused on the quizzes and the tests, just go over the study guide questions and review your handouts before a quiz or test!!! he gives you the notes and practically the answers in it! I got an A+ in this class, not too difficult imo.
I am an A student and I had trouble in this class. I studied hard and came to class every time but I still struggled. His lectures somewhat confused me because they seemed very random and related a little too much to society compared to what we took tests over. He's a VERY kind person! If you know a ton about business already, take this class!
Lectures not clear at all, notes don't really go along with the tests. He will give you notes but they don't correspond with tests at all.
Glen may be a rude awakening to a student expecting a typical community college freshman level of instruction. His BUS 101 requires serious study and you will not fake your way through a test. But the level of instruction is high and he is very knowledgeable & helpful. Take his class if you want knowledge. If you want to skate, look elsewhere.
Rambled. Tons of tangents that made no sense. Very hard to retain information.
He goes off on random tangents which are often unrelated to class material. His handwriting is difficult to read. He doesn't use online assignments or grading (canvas) which makes it difficult to keep track of grade.
I have a 4.0 GPA and this is the only class I have ever dropped. The teacher Glen made some very offensive jokes during class about students religion, mental illness, and what students career fields were. He also scribbles on the board and you can't read anything. I wouldn't take any classes with this professor.
Was a really good class professor chapius knew what he was talking about. Very helpful and kind. Tests are challenging but if you study you'll do fine and he offers extra credit every test.
Lecture class. No group work, no other grades besides tests and quizzes, which you could barely pass if you went off of lecture alone. Definitely need to work hard outside of class to get an A in the class (read textbook, study A LOT). As a person, he is a really good guy, funny, and respectful.
Great teacher
Glen was a good teacher
HE IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR ! REALLY FLEXIBLE WITH QUIZZES AND TESTS!
SIMPLY THE BEST! Students have an "opportunity" for educational success, if they earn it.
The teacher is always there if someone needs help on the material. The tests are very difficult, but he is there for help and allows extra credit options.
Gives quizzes before learning material. Kind of boring
Glen was a phenomenal professor and I feel really privileged to have met a caring, encouraging, and genuine person like him. Glen truly cares about the students and wants everyone to thrive and succeed in his class. Whether it's retaking a test, making up quizzes, or working something around the students time, he will make sure the job gets done.
Didn't post any grades online so it was hard to know what your grade was in the class. There was extra credit opportunities, but the tests were very hard and the extra credit didn't seem to help very much. He usually helped us before the quizzes and told us what topics to know which helped a lot.
Good teacher
He gives out a lot of extra credit but the tests are really hard, although he lets you use 1 page of notes on the tests. His lectures don't really make a lot of sense because he relates things to sports a lot. He abbreviates everything he writes so it makes it hard to follow. But he curves grades a ton! Final is a book report and a presentation.
I really enjoyed Prof Glen! Very easy to understand, answers questions, very nice to students, clear grading requirements and expectations. I appreciate all his extra credit opportunities. Def can tell he wants his students to succeed.
This professor is very good.
He was always willing to help you get your grade up and provided cheat sheets for all his tests. Also he doesnt give a final.
Has 3 exams that are worth 300 points total which is about 60% of grade for class. The class averages weren't very high on any of these, but other than that he's a great teacher and would recommend if you study and ready to learn. He's very knowledgeable and has great stories that tie into lectures and lectures are good and interesting.
Glen was a very personable professor and I enjoyed having him for a semester. His class was graded very nicely and he was a very nice guy.
Glen was a very kind and relaxed person who asked us to address him on a first name basis. At times during his lectures he made acronyms or illustrations that were difficult to follow. My biggest complaint is that he doesn't use computer grading at all. For a business class I figured computers would be integral to the course. He is a good teacher
Good class. Very informative.
He is a nice professor who is very passionate and knowledgeable about business. There are 3 tests that are hard and cover a lot of material, but he does allow one cheat sheet. The quizzes aren't hard if you read the textbook before class. Also, the final is a book report.
Very easy class and a very nice guy. Show up to class and pay attention and that's it. Lets you use cheat sheet on every test. He explains very thoroughly. Would take him again, very nice and funny!
He is nice professor, and really knowledgeable.
I think the class was very informative for future business classes. Overall a good teacher.
good teacher, class was pretty fun and enjoyable. has good personal stories he shares to the class. get to use cheat sheet on tests!
An okay teacher. However,he does not use Canvas so all notes and handouts are given in class. Tests follow handouts mostly but you can use the book effectively if you miss class. We were able to use study guides, in my class, on tests.
Glen knows his subject and is very passionate about it. He will challenge you to put thought into your answers. Among the best professors I have had and he is a first choice for me when taking business courses.
Really Nice Man. Lectures are full of random baseball analogies and tests are scenario heavy - you have to guess which word applies. Test review handouts & essay questions are pre-written on a cheat sheet you turn in with test w/ answers and whatever other random facts you can squeeze in. Be prepared for B's.
Glen is the worst teacher i have ever had. He knows a lot about business and expect you to too. If you're taking business 101 to learn about business glen is not the professor for you. He expects you to already know so much about business. His lectures are extremely boring and super confusing. He tells really random and inappropriate stories a lot.
Glen was a great professor- he really cared about his students & their success. He is easy to talk to and kind, but I used the textbook heavily. You might need to read the chapters super in-depth like me in order to understand the unit. There's chapter quizzes. Those & the tests determine your grade, so studying is crucial. Overall, great class tho
Glen was an awesome professor who genuinely cares about his students and wants to help them achieve success. The tests were kind of difficult so be sure to study hard. His lectures were straight to the point and he provided a lot of handouts to help out with exams and quizes.
Glen is the type of professor that will respect you if you respect him as well. He gives every opportunity for his students to not only pass, but thrive in his class. He is well educated in his class, and will find a variety of ways to connect the lecture with every day life.
Glen was an awesome professor with a lot of experience in the business world to back it up. He is a tough grader and his exams are harder than expected however he is vary understanding of you missing lectures as long as you are completing all assignments and let him know if you cannot make it to class via email.
Hes a great professor and he does whatever he can to get his students prepared for the exams. Be ready for the quizzes!
Great teacher, exams kinda hard
Clear course syllabus, course outline, and grading process. Kept a professional yet approachable demeanor. Stuck to the syllabus, textbook and course material. Stayed on task and on point of the subject. Openly answered class questions and allowed appropriate Q&A. Got the job done.
Graded by a few things, three exams and one final project and some points combine in attendance/participation/pop quizzes. Sometimes also uses aberrations too much for terms/notes. Gives excellent handouts/study material
He was good. A lot of content and real situations to talk about.
Glen is very approachable and very helpful. His lectures are engaging and interesting as he also integrates his own knowledge of business in with the book. If you want to make an A, do all the extra credit he offers and just give your full attention to lectures as they do relate to his quizzes. Awesome professor and a fun class!
He is a really bad professor if you actually want to learn anything. You could literally just take the power point printouts and thats the class. However if your just taking it for the credit its not a super hard class. There is a quiz on the first day of most weeks the tests are pretty close to the study guide. Not hard but not easy
He is a really good professor. He explains everything clearly, classes are fun and not boring at all. He is a professor easy to talk to, and someone really inspirational.
As long as you show up and do the work it is not hard.
professor gave good clearance on what needed to be done and how to get a great grade
Glen is a great professor. He truly cares about the success of each student, but he even tells you on the first day that he runs a higher education classroom. He does not use Canvas and students are responsible on asking him for their grades to be able to self-track your grade in the class. The material is not hard, but make sure to read for class.
during the COVID-19 outbreak, the professor was quick to inform us on the rest of the semester and final grading criteria. Lecture was always enjoyable to listen to, and help was needed when I asked. I would like to learn from this professor if classes are taught by him within my studies.
He taught Business class, it is clear and easy to understand. Through the quiz every week it helps me deeply understand about lessons.
Glen was a great professor, he was well knowledge and passionate about the subject. Due to the COVID-19 and move to distance learning, it was harder to learn over this topic, due to the lack of Canvas use. Even with little Canvas use, he is still easy to get ahold of and responds fairly quick. Great Professor, I would definitely recommend him.
Glen was a great professor. He has such a great attitude about teaching and he truly wants his students to succeed. He tells many stories about his life, but these stories relate back to the course content. He has lots of knowledge to share and if you show up, do the work, participate in the discussions, and study, you will do great!
This semester was especially challenging due to the COVID-19 crisis. Before the lockdown this professor was active, passionate, and tried very hard to teach his students. When the lockdown hit, we barely heard from him. Half the class and the assignments got cancelled because everything was online. I wish more effort was put in to make it online.
Mr. Chaupis is a very good professor. He knows his subject and delivers with great enthusiasm. He actually wants students to be successful. He provides ample opportunities to get extra credit to boost your grade. If you fail his class, you didn't show up or give an ounce of effort.
He was very thorough in his assignments, you can tell he is a seasoned professor.
I took this class to learn more about business and to see if I would like to major in it. The class answered many of my questions and gave me a good base of knowledge about business.
Overall being in the classroom was fine, lots of handouts little in the way of powerpoint lectures. However when the class was switched to an online format due to the Covid-19 pandemic he hardly posted anything. All quizzes and tests were cancelled which meant there was less to be graded by making it harder to earn more points.
As long as you read the required material and pay attention to his lectures you will pass the class. Professor Chapuis has a lot of knowledge to pass along.
Great professor, knows the information. Rather than teaching directly out of the textbook, it is more like a discussion about the information which is the environment I learn best in. Would take his course again.
Professor Chapius was a great instructor. He has a lot of wisdom to give and really pushes you to read the material and think outside the box. You must thoroughly study for the quizzes/tests in order to receive a good grade.
I felt as if the class was very well structured the professor himself was kinda bland.
awesome and friendly
I hated this class with all of my heart. I hated the way the class was set up completely. It makes you feel like it's high school again, but even worst. The only way you can access you grade was by asking him. He didn't use Canvas at all. Some people might like it this way, but I did not.
He was a great professor but it was kind of hard to focus during his lectures and most of the grades were from quizzes or test. I wish there was more assignments because I'm not a good test taker so I started the class poorly. But i enjoyed the opportunity for extra credit because many professors won't give extra credit out.
Very clear cut assignments. Easy to understand and talk to. Very nice and genuine teacher who cares about the students.
This professor is very good at what he does but you should be warned, while the class isn't very hard, you may be graded mostly through quizzes and tests. Participation is very important for this class as well.
He is very knowledgeable in Business. Most of his class are lectures but he does a good job of making it not as boring. He definitely cares about his students and wants the best for us.
It is very obvious he knows the material he teaches, and makes sure that the students are understanding the material as well.
He was a good professor but I found it difficult somedays to focus on his lectures. Quizzes and tests are a large chunk of the grade. You have to read alot in this class. I did like the amount of handouts, by my main problem was that there was nothing online, no assignments or grades. Not the biggest prblem in the world. Overall, pretty good.
Glen is a great professor but if you do not stay caught up on the chapters and readings then the quizzes can be difficult.
He was easy. Talked a lot but he is funny.
Mr. Chapius is a great teacher. His lectures are clear and easy to understand. What I liked most was his extra credit opportunities. He gives students a chance to gain extra points when taking exams.
Professor Chapuis is wise and wants to see students succeed. The only complaint was that the class is graded on a few things.
He is a great professor who knows what he is doing and how to teach.
Glen class had critical thinking were you actually had to think outside the norm. Very insightful videos of business and their start ups.
Great teacher and very passionate about the class, was very understanding which is something i admire about a teacher, would definitely take a course with him again.
Extremely knowledgeable and professional. If you actively listen during class the examples and explanations he has makes the material easily understandable. I would easily take him another semester for a more advanced business class. He has a lot of knowledge and passion for his area of study.
With the onset of Covid-19 and the subsequent quarantine, this has been an unprecedented time and tough for students and faculty alike. Glen is a very nice man, clearly well-educated, and caring. My frustration had more to do with a lack of consistent communication during quarantine. Prior to that, I would suggest more class interaction.
I liked him as a person but I didn't learn well from the way he taught. This was overall a good business class though.
Glen was a great teacher that made it really easy to understand material in the class by allowing for a lot of class discussion.
The tests aren't super reflective of the lectures but as long as you skim the book and memorize a couple of the graphics and definitions they aren't super hard. He likes to use current politics as examples so if that bugs you a lot I probably wouldn't take him. Other than that he's nice, will answer any questions, and has engaging lectures.
Be prepared for informative and educational lectures. The class is very engaging and youll leave having more knowledge about business. Dont take the class if you dont like to participate.
I think the amount of effort and care you have for your students really shined through in class lectures. It was always a pleasure listening to the way you spoke about any topic because you have an amazing way of making things stick. I really enjoyed our time together even if it was much shorter than expected.
He is a good teacher who is knowledgeable and experienced in his field.
He is a nice teacher who shows the skills requires to teach this class. He also shares his knowledge with all students a very helpfully teacher.
Very funny guy and very wise. Be sure to go to class because he doesn't do any online work and be sure to study the textbook for quizzes.
Very intelligent in the subject no doubt and good extra credit opportunities, but lectures seem to stray from what the hand outs have which makes it difficult to grasp material.
Professor Chapuis did a great job of making the topics we discussed in class make sense. He answered all the questions I had and did a good job of using real life examples that made what we were discussing in class make sense.
Has a very good sense of humor and keeps the class interesting enough to where its easy to pay attention. Work is not too hard as long as you put in the effort.
Classes were lectures that didn't pertain to the material. Glen frequently talked about his personal life. Tests did not always relate to material. Did not use any electronic resources and disappeared after quarantine. Would not recommend his course, he also offers extra credit for RMP reviews.
Glen is a great person. But his teaching skills aren't the best. Classes right now are virtual so it's kind of hard to grip material from his teaching habits. Lectures are all over the place. He doesn't share his screen when teaching. His test doesn't equal up to the notes either. I hope this helps!!
He's a great professor he only does class once a week and the assignments are very easy, except for the book report. Though it's not difficult it is lengthy.
We didn't do much class work but he was nice.
Class is not hard if you manage your time wisely. Wish lectures were a little longer and explained things better since it is a 101 class.
This class had lots of info but as long as you pay attention in class and read the chapters you will do great!
This was a great course for any leadership position. The professor and book provided useful information for any future businessperson.
Does NOT use online resources (canvas) for anything (grading, quizzes, etc). Can be hard to read his handwriting sometimes for feedback. Class grade is probably 3/4 exams and "pop" quizzes. The final is a comparative book report, so be prepared to read an extra book. Read the text, take notes, and pray the quizzes and exams cover what you memorized
I would never take a class taught by Glen again. First and foremost, he does not use Canvas which makes it hard to stay on top of your work if you miss a class. He also expects you to keep track of your own grades which are solely based on tests, pop quizzes and a book report. I wish I would've switched classes when I had the chance.
Definitely need to read the text. Glen has a style of tests that prioritizes memorizing the bullet points of lots of different theories. Takes some time to get used to. Doesn't use online stuff at all, grades aren't even posted on canvas. Great guy, good professor, just takes some getting used to.
He knows what his doing it was always fun to be in his class and we weren't burden with busy work like in my other classes
I really enjoyed this professor. He is very knowledgeable and gets the point he is trying to make across very clearly.
Professor Chapuis did a great job presenting the content in this class. This is my second class with him and although neither have been the ideal experience, I would confidently say that Mr. Chapuis made this class more manageable with his consistency and thoroughness. I appreciate his strides to keep students up to date on what's needed to pass.
Good professor be sure to listen and read the textbook
Glen is a knowledgable professor. He used many examples in his lectures to help us understand the lessons. There is no homework so it is up to the student to prioritize reading from the textbook, but Glen provides many guidelines and review time to help prepare for quizzes and tests.
Glen Chapuis was a very professional and easy going Business professor. For Business 101, there were weekly quizzes, simple writing prompts here and there, three exams, an oral presentation, and a final paper. Overall super easy course if you're keeping up with the chapter readings. He is easy to reach and quick to respond when concerns arise.
There is not a lot of homework, most of your grade is just tests and quizzes.
I thought Glen was a great professor. He was easy to follow along in class and lectures weren't dreadful. I would have given this class a 5 if Glen gave more homework assignments. The course only consisted of quizzes and tests and it is difficult to learn that way sometimes. I did enjoy this class though.
I would recommend Glen Chapuis for anyone taking BUS201. Grade is mostly based on weekly quizzes, tests and a final paper (very little homework). Several extra credit opportunities ensured one bad test did not ruin my grade. While it is true he does not use Canvas, he provided more than enough resources for me to feel like I didn't need it anyways.
Great professor, gives amazing lectures, and his previous experience in business allows him to go further into depth on course materials.
Very great class and I learned a lot and he was willing to work with students and different situations
He doesn't put any grades or due dates online. Your grade completely depends on tests and quizzes. And he tends to ramble and make no sense at all.
NOT a high school/ on line learning waste of time. Grasp the opportunity to learn. Participate & keep track of your own progress!
Very Very test heavy, and does not use canvas at all. Must keep track of your own grade. Tends to ramble on, and lectures are ineffective. He is personable, and the grading criteria is clear if you are inclined to take a very test-heavy class with limited online resources.
It is very hard to follow his lectures and they are very confusing. It is not an easy class especially for someone like me who is new to business classes and content. The professor is awful at using canvas and allows no way for students to access their grades. I really wish I had known this before taking this course with this professor.
Glen--he goes by Glen--definitely knows management. He's pretty old school. Doesn't make grades available online. Lecture heavy for sure, but lectures are enjoyable. He ties in videos, stories, textbook concepts. Gets the job done.
Make sure to pay attention in class
Professor is extremely interactive during the lecture. However, he doesn't utilize Canvas at all so good luck checking your grades or if something is due.
Interactive lectures with engaging stories and videos. Little Canvas use, but ample resources. Helpful for studying - quizzes, tests, and final paper are the main grades. Unstuck AI made a great study aid alongside the textbook.
