I had professor carlos my first semester at valley college. His way of teaching was beyond amazing for a first time college student like myself. He helped me overcome my fear of singing to an audience and gave me very appropriate feedback when I practiced with him and performed for the class. FYI There is only 1 test and it's just vocabulary terms.

He does not throw any curve balls at you, he pretty much gives you the answers to every single quiz, never a test in his class. He cares about each of his students, he is funny, he is HOT. Absolutely take this course! Glenn Carlos was amazing and although there were a lot of assignments they are very helpful in terms of prepping you for the final and midterm plus they're super easy! He literally tells you what to expect for the quizzes and tests plus if you're having any trouble at all he will take the time to help you. He's the best

I took the honors section. Carlos is absolutely amazing and makes things simple to understand. He explains all the quizzes and tests beforehand and will take time to help you understand any concept that you struggle with. He's SO bright and cheery and enthusiastic that it's hard not to enjoy class.

He is absolutely awesome! Since it was the first time I've ever read music it was a bit difficult for me especially since I took it during the summer, but he was very helpful when he would help me one on one. He makes sure everyone is on the same page. His great personality just makes everything even better. Always so happy and very energetic.

He is super funny and energetic which was a life saver for me because I'm not a morning person and his class was at 8 am. Even if you don't think that you are interested in music, you should defiantly take his class!

I attend UC Davis, so its ironic to know my best professor so far is from a community college. Underrated! Very helpful professor. I took him over summer, so the course was faster than usual, yet he still made it comfortable for the students to understand the material.

Professor Carlos also leads the choirs at LAVC. If you like singing, dipping your feet in with his Voice1 class will probably get you recruited for choir. He is one of the greatest people I have ever met. He loves his students and shows it. Voice1 required memorizing and singing 4 songs in front of class, as well as 2 small exams on basic concepts.

I am taking music class and I must say I love Mr. Carlos. he so great and knowledgeable professor with tons of experience. Will answer all the interested questions in full. Prof. Carlos made my semester one of the best in my life. Ironically, this was my final credit needed to get my college diploma and he may have been the best teacher I've had thus far in my academic career. I've never been taught by someone with so much experience teaching yet still maintain the excitement, joy, and investment their students.

To get a good grade in the class you just have to show up and try your best. He creates a wonderful learning environment where you feel safe and not at all judged. Awesome professor, extremely nice and pleasant. Cares a lot about his students, has very clear grading criteria. Attendance matters. Easy course overall, the hardest part was waiting for him to explain things to students that were a little slower, he takes the time to make sure every single person understands the material. He is a excellent teacher able to hear a great singer from a good singer. I take choir, chamber singers, and musicianship with him and he is an inspiration. Sometimes I surprise him as I have perfect pitch and relative pitch. He likes my conducting skills and enthusiastic energy in class every week. He hepps us with rhythms and singing technique.

The class was extremely fast but Professor Carlos made everything simple and easy to grasp. He explains thoroughly and wont move on until everybody understood the topic.
