Great guy, easy class.

very funny, I rarely went to class, but when I did I liked it

easy classes (both lecture and lab). says 'thats exciting' a little too much, but hes not a bad teacher. just make sure you study for the tests. theyre hard.

Funny, Dyslexic, and says "Alrighty" at the beginning of every lecture. He does say "that's exciting" too much.

Glenn is a really funny teacher. I didn't go to lecture all that often but when I did he never failed to amuse me. The material is somewhat interesting and he makes it a lot more fun. Take Glenn Carter for CS101 its easy and pretty humorous at times.

I liked this class, but I also like computers. The tests aren't bad either. They get easier as you go along.

Glenn is great! He still says hello to me a year later.

He is a very fun teacher! He knows his computer, so he makes sure that you understand all that he goes over. This class is very simple if you show up to lectures and take average notes. Overall, Carter was an awesome teacher!!!

Glenn is an awesome man. He knows he's a computer nerd and he's hilarious. He also knows that computer science is boring and he does his best to make it fun. Like one guy said, go to lecture, and take decent notes, you'll get a good grade

cool guy. makes computers actually fun. lab is fairly easy just follow directions. you dont really need to go to lecture, but its helpful if you do. just get the book and study the study guide he gives you and you should be ok.

Carter is really funny, and he's very clear on topics, but the material can get kind of boring. make sure you get him as your lab instructor too. it's a pretty easy class overall, i didn't even use the book and i got an A.

If you pay attention and take notes you should do fine. He's funny and makes the material clear. His tests are all multiple choice. The final is not cumulative, the bonus points on it are from the whole semester.

Very nice guy, easy to get along with. Will help those who ask for it. Class is 60% tests and 40% lab work. Highly reccomend. Makes topics interesting and puts his own perspective on a very boring subject. A+.

He is a very intelligent guy, and connects with his students using his down-to-earth and dorky personality. The tests are easy and so is the lab if you can follow directions. I mean come on, when was the last time you heard a dude say "hunky dorey" ??? Didn't think so.

CS101 - such a good class!!! The tests are easy, the class is so well taught... Take this class if you need that GE. You won't regret it!

Even with cs experience this class was great and helpful. Take notes, tests almost comepletely out of lecture, and a tiny from lab. Very helpful guy, super nice, and pretty funny.

good professor...tried to make dry material a little interesting, but i had a hard time paying attention to his lectures. hardly anyone went to the lecture regularly, i barely went and ended up with a b, so, its not too difficult as long as you know computers a little. the lab portion was ridiculously easy, but good b/c it boosted my grade a lot.

i didnt ever go to lectures maybe a handful of times throughout the semester but still got a B+. labs are easy and i still learned a decent amount about computers.

Hes super cute! Lecture is super boring and tests are pretty hard, but labs are easy. Be ready to take really good notes if you take this class! I liked him a lot, and if cs isn't your thing you will still probably be able to get by.

TESTS ARE HARD! I wish someone would've warned me. I get A's on each of my labs but the midterm and final are worth a lot. The labs are super easy though. Lectures are boring and I never go...but there is a chance I won't pass.

Great teacher, make sure you go to every lab, but you dont really have to go to lectures. Tests are hard but if you get an A in lab you'll still pass.

Carter is the king **** of all the teachers at Sonoma, all that's missing is his cane and purple coat. He's a great teacher, but the class is a bore. Take him for CS 101. "There are 10 types of people, those who understand binary and those who don't."

super cool teacher! he made me actually interested in computers. he's a self-proclaimed "computer nerd" and knows a lot about the subject. i'd have to recommend taking his lecture twice a week as opposed to once. as entertaining as he was it was difficult at times for me to sit through a 2hr lecture on a tuesday morning

carter is nice and his class is easy-- but i never fall asleep in class ever - and i do every tuesday in his lecture. unless you like sitting there listening about binary numbers for 2 hours - get the lecture that is on 2 different days. the other one is just too boring and long

this is one quirky guy but he is very cool and helpful. plus the class is so easy if you go to classes erspecially the labs. this is one easy ge to get out the way

Pretty cool guy, he's a total computer nerd. Lecture can be boring sometimes so i recommend taking the shorter lecture class taught twice a week. Tests are pretty easy if u go to most of his lectures. Oh, and don't get the text book, u won't use it at all, it's a waste of money.

He is an awesome teacher. So goofy and nerdy which are great qualities for a CS teacher to have. Lectures can be boring but informative. Don't buy the book because test questions are on his powerpoint presentations which he uploads. Easy GE science credit. Labs were fun.

Professor Cater taught me a lot but his voice will bore you. He is a good teacher and knows what he is talking about but going to lecture isn't necessary. He has all the lectures online and there is only two tests in his class. You only have a midterm and final. I recommend going to his class if you want a good grade.

Glenn Carter was an awesome teacher! You take a final and a mid-term and four quizzes for your lecture grade. If you go to lecture and pay attention you will ace the final and mid term. Labs are very easy...I got 100% on most assignments. I got an A in this class and I would recommend it!

Decent teacher not great. Repetitive but enthusiastic. Be wary of extra powerpoints. He is usually willing to help.

Great way to meet a science GE credit because the info is useful and easy. Labs are easy. But don't think you can get away with not studying. The grades listed online show that more people than you think get D's or F's. It IS easy, but you can be a dimwit and fail if you blow it off. He's funny!

Glenn is a cool guy, but when he lectures in lab and lecture its pretty boring. I took this class and dont know a lot about computers and ended up getting a B. I would suggest taking this class!

Kinda a nerdy teacher but a extremely interesting class. I learned things I never new were possible on the computer. Also everything you learn from the class is very helpful for the future especially the lab because everyone needs computer experience. easy class to pass.

He is really nice. Tells silly jokes here and there. Most of his tests are from lecture. The lab quizzes are ridiculously hard if you don't do the reading. The midterm and final are mostly material taken from lecture so I definitely recommend attending class!

Carter might be a dork, but he is funny. Kept me laughing most of the time. I went to lecture maybe 5 times and did fine on the lecture quizzes. Went to ever lab and it was fun. I got a B+ in the class, could of gotten an A if I attended lecture

glenn carter was a great teacher. real enthusiastic about the material. the notes he uses are online but now he leaves some blanks so it is pretty important to go to like 80% of the lectures. lab is fun and really easy. just follow the instructions and you get out early. definitely take this class if you want some B3 credit on the GE

This class was extremely fun. Attendance is only mandatory for the lab which I won't miss any of if you want a good grade. I didn't go to a single Lecture and easily got an A in his class, but I heard the lectures were helpful if you need them. To be honest though its computers there not exactly that hard to figure out.

Professor Carter is a really fun and involved teacher. He cares about each of his students and loves to hear about their interests in the course. You don't need to go to lecture as long as you have the book and use it to fill in lecture notes. You do need to go to lab though, or else you can really mess up your grade. Overall a good class.

haha oh glenn...he is so bouncy! he is very enthusiastic about computers and is a really nice guy. It is a big lecture class, so people dont usually ask questions, which is unbeneficial, but the lab part is fun

Alright, this guy is the best. He makes everything super easy to understand and takes his time to help you...even in lectures if your a tard who can't figure it out. the quizes are easy if you study for 30 seconds and the final is easier than a vision test. i love glenn

Carter is a very funny and outgoing teacher. he really knows what he is talking about. The class is sometimes hard to sit through, but all his notes are online, just print them out and fill in the blanks during lecture. DO read the book though

Professor Carter is one of the most bubbly and enthusiastic people I have ever met. He seems passionate about computers and eager to teach, however listening to his lectures just drags on and on. He puts his power points online so studying is just a matter of going back over them. Overall and easy class just one that seems to last a lifetime.

Carter is a total computer nerd, but a very passionate teacher. Attendance is important for your grade, but the iClicker q's are easy. He's really helpful, if you have ANY questions, GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS or open lab, he's super enthusiastic and will most likely be able to help you. Take Carter, you won't regret it :)

He is a total computer nerd and is super psyched on everything having to do with computers. I found the lectures to not be very interesting, but not going a lot of the times did hurt m attendance grade.

Read the text use ur iClicker and follow easy instructions this class is pretty much go at your own pace, he's a really nice guy and always looking for a way to help, no hidden grades or bs

Glenn is the man. Use iCliker, if you don't go to the lecture make someone take your iClicker and attend all the labs and you will be fine. Fun easy class though, if you can try to get lyle as your lab teacher he is sick.

Glenn Carter is freakin hilarious,at least I thought so! Just make sure to do the iClicker, if you go 75% of the time you get 100%, so it is not that hard. The tests are kind of tricky but just read the book. Pay attention in lecture because anything he says in class is fair game on the tests. Labs are a little boring. Learned a lot about computers

Great and entertaining. Tests are very hard though, I paid attention and transcribed notes for a disabled student, read the book and I still didn't do as well as i hoped. Recommend this class for everyone

Super geeky dude but he's very smart, goofy/funny, and tries to make the class fun and simple to pass. The labs had multiple instructors, Glens were hard but the others were a walk in the park. Its chill that if you miss any lab/class he allows you to show up to any of his other ones. No outside work or book needed. Definately reccomend this class

Awesome teacher, great GE course to take. Our class never had any tests or a final, only attendence and in-lab quizzes/assignments. Try to get Lyle as your lab instructor, hes really helpful and more lax than Glen. If you have any experience with computing this class is a breeze.

He is a great teacher. He tries to make the class fun by making jokes and whatnot. If you drop by his office hours he is extremely helpful. We never had a midterm or a final. Your grade is based on lab assignments and the quizzes.

He is a great prof. He tries his best to make the class fun and make things interesting. There are no midterms or finals, but make sure you do all the training before each lab quiz.

class was somewhat challenging, especially since i have absolutely NO interest in comp sci...but i did end up getting a 90.8 in the class with minimal studying up until the final. glen does care about the subject and if you act interested and do the work he will go out of his way to help you

He is very enthusiastic. You can get by without reading the book. but the 2nd and 3rd lecture exams are focused on the book info. Very willing to explain and help. lays out step by step what to do so it is hard to fail a lab assignment. lectures were interesting but lab lectures were sometimes extremely boring. Take this class! interesting and easy

Great teacher. Loves the topic and can go on for days about it. You don't NEED the textbook to pass the lecture quizzes but I found it helpful. Final isn't too hard as long as you go to class and pay attention. Advanced excel is kind of tough.

Best Professor ever! I was about to change my major to Comp. Science. He was always energetic and he is very understanding. The class is hard for some, but I thought it was really easy because I did all the reading and studying.

If you aren't tech savvy this class is pretty difficult at first. Have to really pay attention and do the online practice stuff. Lectures were extremely boring but he goes over a lot of information that will be on the lectures quizzes. You just have to stay on top of the reading and practice. Its definitely a full load for just an intro course.

Lecture quizzes are really tough, especially since it's hard to pay attention during class. If you do the training then the lab tests will be pretty easy. He seems to really want his students to succeed but you do have to work for your grade.

Glenn Carter is my hero. If you study and go to lecture the tests are not hard to pass and he helps you out a lot. You can take tests on different days if needed. I came into this class knowing nothing and had a complete lack of interest in anything to do with computers. Now I am going to minor in Computer Science! Glenn was amazing and makes things understandable for those with little to no knowledge of computers. Lecture quizzes are tough, but the labs are what really saved my grade.

Glen is a goof ball. He's super clear and very understanding of the students. He talks A LOT and often repeats things, but at least you wont forget what's going onwhen tests are. If you practice for the SIMnet quizzes you will pass. The lecture quizzes were a little more difficult, but probably cause I didn't always pay attention during lectures.

Glenn is the best person I've ever known, let alone best professor. He inspires me in so many ways, I have lost track. His choice in flowy, big print shirts, impeccable. Take this class if you want to have the time of your life, while learning basic computer skills.

Its simple, read the powerpoint lecture slides, do the SIMnet lessons, and don't forget your iclicker and you will get an A. Its simple. Don't make it hard on yourself.

Glenn is a helpful professor who doesn't want you to fail. Makeup policies are good. You don't need the textbook but need the SIMnet pass which is pricey. Class is easy as long as you show up with the iClicker. Read his lectures before a test and you're good. Also, do the SIMnet tutorials, very helpful!

Glenn is really into computers and tries to instill this love of computers into everyone in the class. Lectures can be a little bor If sometimes but there is a lot of useful information that you can use in everyday life with your computer. If you show up, do Simnet training, and go to lab and put in a little effort it's an easy B/B+.

Class is easy to follow, he gives info that is helpful for the future. Testing is practically given to you. No book required. Programming part is step by step. If you have problems with your tech. He will help you with it. Overall great class would take again and he is funny.

This class is an easy A IF you do well on the lecture exams which can be sort of difficult if you dont study. I showed up to lecture & sat on my phone the whole time but you have to show up for iclicker points. However, you only need to end up with 70% clicker to get 100% so you can miss a good amount. Labs are easy and exams are easy if you study

Easy class if you review lectures for exams(every other week), and word/excel tests are easy if you just practice online. Attendance wise, you just need 70% to have 100% and that is tracked by iClicker participation every lecture, so you can miss a few classes because the powerpoints are all posted online. Great teacher, easy class

I had Mr. Carter for lecture (not lab). The class itself is pretty easy to pass as long as you show up and get the iClicker points. He gets really excited about everything he talks about which made lectures more interesting and engaging to me. Info for the class is easily accessible outside of class and he is always willing to help students.

Glenn Carter is by far the best professor I have experienced at Sonoma State! He is caring and really enthusiastic about what he is teaching! He is the person who has even made me want to minor in Conputer science. If you pay attention to the lectures and do the training for the Word and Excel your gonna get an easy A in the class.

Good prof. This class isn't hard nor is it easy, it's kinda whatever you take from it. There are exams every other week, but they are based off the readings and lectures, and the online textbook will provide practice exams. The class will only be hard if you don't pay attention or put forth effort.

Glenn is very passionate about computer science and since it's an introduction course you learn the basics of excel and computer essentials. I enjoyed learning about binary and artificial intelligence. I learned some cool stuff that I retained and use when using excel. Just study Simnet the night before or hour before the exams and your all good!

Super nice guy. I only had to come to his class once a week and it be from 30 minutes to an hour and 50 minutes. Not many projects but when we had them, they'd be done in class and super simple. His lectures and grades for excel/powerpoint should be easy As is you take the time to look for the answer.

Glenn is awesome. He is such a sweet guy and it seems like he loves his job. I felt a sense of belonging in his class and he really cares about you. Very easy to follow course with little homework, would highly recommend as a basic class to knock out GE requirements.

Professor Carter is a gem!! You would be lucky to have him. The assignments aren't hard but you need to show up to zoom meetings. Depending on the day meetings are often not the full length of class because he dedicates the time to work on the weekly assignments. If you need CS 101 take him if you can!

The class is pretty easy. There's a small amount of homework and the lectures are a bit dull when online. Professor Carter clearly cares about the students and bends over backwards to make the class reasonably-paced.
