AWFUL.. not a good teacher at all ..stay far away from this guy
Excellent Professor, very smart - knows his stuff! Injects many real life stories to make the topic more understandable. This is not an easy course, but it is being taught be a true pro.
VERY interesting class, shares real life experiences to help explain the chapters. If you're willing to put the necessary effort in, tests & grading are very resonable. Very interesting professor to talk to, is willing to go out of his way to help students -- truly cares about the subject matter & students! HIGHLY recommend
If you love some story time about OM and getting mad confused over a simple minded subject then this class is for you! He needs to stop giving his "personal opinion" because no one cares, just get us through this required class
Good teacher who cares about us and what he does. This was a required course that I had no interest in and I still do not since I will be in Finance. But he has made me aware of the details of what I now feel is an important subject.
One of the greatest professors I have ever encountered. He knows what he is talking about. His life experience is priceless. He will teach what you need to know for when you are out in the "real world". If you have the opportunity, enroll in his class.
An excellent and very caring teacher. Also a very informative class filled with real life stories that tie into the textbook lessons. This is a class you do not want to miss. He is very helpful and easy to talk to outside of class.
An execellent professor who has lots of experience. Tests are very fair, need to know vocab. Classes can be boring because he likes to tell stories but they are informative. If you study for his exams, you will do fine in the class. Very concerned about each person as an individual and is there if you need help even after your done with his class.
Great Professor. He has an excellent command on the subject matter and truely cares about his students. He is one of the better professors at Bryant. I have learned an incredible amount of vital information from him on operations.
This guy is "THE MAN" I learned more useful information in his class than I did in all the rest combined! He is not easy, he makes you work hard, but his stories and real life experience make his operations management course come to life and well worth taking - Go For It!
Glenn Jefferson is very knowledgeble and his very helpful. However, this class is not easy. 3 Tests, Group HW and he is very anal about class participation. Has a lot of experience in business, and uses great real world examples. Enroll in this class, not for an easy grade, but to learn from a true professional.
This class is no push over. If you want a good grade your going to have to work for it. Glenn knows his stuff but has some trouble relaying whats really important to the class. He often goes on tangents about past experiences. Loves participation but leaves little opportunity to take advantage. 3 Exams, big quality report and a term paper.
probably one of the best professors i have had at bryant. has a lot of real life experience and uses it well to relate to the subject matter. very fair with grading, but you need to know your stuff for the tests. cares about his students a lot and helps in any way he can.
Good guy i guess, he knows his stuff. However, he has a serious obsession for class participation. Professor, the reason that no one participates is because when you call on them and they give an answer you say, "ehhh, kinda...anyone else?" It's so annoying.
He is the best of my professors. Very caring & experienced teacher. Course is interesting and filled with useful facts. 3 tests and a fair amount of group work. You learn from a pro how to be successful and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. He is also very helpful outside of class and truly proves he cares about the future & long term success of his students.
Great guy who is very caring and helpful, but NOT a pushover! A teriffic experience with many valuable stories and tons of useful information. I learned more in his class than in any other. Exams are tough, but fair. Do not miss this class. I hear he is also great in 302 Organizational Behavior.
UGH. This guy doesn't tell the students a damn thing for the exams. Cumulative final on 17 chapters, students aren't given any guidance. Showed up everyday for class and got a C for participation, pitiful."Have you seen my stapler?". Has experience, but does not apply it well to class environment. Take if you want to complain for a whole semester
Nice guy, I guess, but he is all about participation. Unfortunately, his class is all lecture, and on the off chance you do get to answer a question, you will be wrong, or only partly right. Always.
Excellent professor -- If you want to learn something meaningful that will benefit you in your future -- please take him. He has so much hands on experience under his belt. He is very helpful and friendly and does not want to see his students fail. The class is not a breeze, but you will learn valuable information and have fun in the process.
Beware not a typical bryant professor. If you want straight text book information from someone who doesnt have real world experience this isnt your guy. If your a management major he is a must take. However if you are trying to get in and out of MGT 201 quick and easy he isnt your guy. Work hard you will learn a lot and its pretty worth it.
This professor is the most helpful teacher I ever had. As long as you keep with the work and take good notes you should be fine. Surround yourself with a good group and your grade will get a boost. He is a must take because of things he teaches you from real life expierience.
excellent prof. He makes you work hard but its worth it, you learn so much from him. He has been in the MGT field so he knows what hes talking about unlike some prof's at Bryant. He is a must take! this is college your suppose to work hard and learn before heading out to the real world. If your serious about your success you will take him!
This guy is money in the bank! I learned sooo much in this class! He can be a little boring at times, but what did you expect, a trip to Six Flags? You will do a lot of group work, and his tests can be really intense, but this guy actually TEACHES so it's not like you're going to be lost in the class. TAKE HIM!
this guy is nuts. he knows what he's talking about but the way he conducts the class is horrible. endless amounts of group homework. Two major group projects including a site visit. exams are on six chapters at once and a final exam on 17 chapters with no study guides or notes whatsoever.
Jefferson is such a good guy. His tests are very fair, he prepares you well for them and if you pay attention to his lectures, you will know what to expect. He has been in the field for many years and is one of the most knowledgable people I have ever met. He will provide you will info to use once you are in a real business setting. Take him!
the dude is the most boring person on earth...avoid the class if possible
uses the book a lot. BIG on CLASS PARTICIPATION - can sleep the entire semester as long as you participate the last couple of weeks. All of my assignments were A or A+ and still got a very low grade b/c of class participation. Talks about himself every class all period. if you want to learn good relevent info DON"T take him
Great class-very informative professor with many real life stories from numerous years of his business experience that help in developing the topic. Attendance and class participation are critical to getting a top grade. Jefferson is a very caring person who truly wants his students to be successful in their careers. Take his class you will learn!!
interesting class caring teacher with tons of real life experience. my second class with him he is awsome the best at Bryant
Professor Jefferson is the most dedicated, helpful, and, caring professor I have encountered at Bryant. An amazing teacher who would do anything for his students. Tests will come from the book and some from what he says...knowledge and know how later on in life will come from his lectures...so listen to the man, he knows what he's talking about.
Prof. Jeffseron is an amazing teacher. He has alot of real life experience which he offers to his classes. Makes you do 2 minute drills but we only did 2 so far and it's already November. Very interesting, no homework, one group project worth 30% of ur grade. Love the man. He's the sh*t!
Very caring and concerned professor. If Jefferson had a dollar for every time he went out of his way to help us students he would be a millionaire many times over. His class is not easy but you will learn lots of useful information especially from all of the stories he includes in his lectures. He is one of the very best at Bryant. Take his class.
Jefferson is a great professor...He brings an abundance of real life experience to the classroom and truly cares about his student's success both academically and in the future. I recommend him.
Good guy. Not very clear about what to study but cares a lot about his students. Attendance is definitely mandatory as well as participation, he counts that a lot. Gives a lot of real world advice.
awful!!! all he does it tell stories about himself...his tests are totally random and have nothing to do with what he talks about in class...he requires that all homework is done in groups which is virtually impossible...i ended up seeing my group members more than my own roommate that semester! he is full of himself and a sad excuse for a teacher!
I have taken this man twice and he is top notch. Many many real life stories that make a dry subject interesting. Also he really cares about his students and is very helpful & available. He is not easy, but an overall good guy.
Jefferson is a great professor! This is my second time taking him and I would take him again in a second. He does so much for his students and wants the best for his students. I highly recommend Professor Jefferson. Just make sure you like to talk in class.
Knows hes better than you, and never lets the students forget it. Sometimes contradicts himself to make students look bad. Overall very knowlidgeable, not the most helpful, but better than some. Sometimes hes a great professor, but most of the time he is on an ego trip. Exams are ALL essay and require brute memorization from the textbook.
Two tough exams - two A's this is a great course where you learn a lot taught by a man who is devoted to us. He does much both in and outside of the class. Great life stories that help clarify the course work. He does not suffer fools lightly, so if you are looking to skate - look for another class. I would take him again!
This man opened up my eyes to the world and has helped me and my group a lot! He does so much extra for us and he has so many interesting stories about life and how things really work. He really cares about us and I will take him again for another course this summer.
WOW it took till the final class here to finally get an informed professional who knows the material inside and out, cares about us students (beware he takes no crap or sob stories) and actually teaches very well! Great stories which help tie the text to real life. Taking him should be a must for all who want to learn!
Expects class participation but does not allow for oppurtunity to speak. Also when called on your answer is never correct in his eyes and wants more, all the time. He also does not let you know whether you were right or wrong and you are just left wondering afterwards.
Professor Jefferson is the very best! He cares about his students and taught a very useful and interesting class that far exceeded my expectations. If he is not the best at Bryant, I do not know who is. Many many interesting real life stories that help bring the subject into focus. You will learn a lot if you want to. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Excellent professor. Teaching style great and shows true interest in students wellbeing
Excellent professor, however you MUST realize that participation & attendance is MANDATORY. Talks a lot which makes participation a little difficult, but you must ask questions and show an interest frequently. If you dont, your grade will suffer. Truly cares about his students and has great stories to share, very smart guy. Best professor I've had!
One of the very best at Bryant. He really knows his stuff and using many stories from his past brings things into focus. Highly Recommended.
He is a nice guy who knows his stuff. He is set in his ways and is fair to a fault. You will receive the exact grade you deserve. The first exam was essay, the second was 100 multiple choice (study hard for this one) and the final is cummed. A lot of work but not so bad
Interesting and diverse course. He is a very interesting and caring person with a lot of real world stories. This really helps with the otherwise dry course material. He also cares about his students very much and does a lot of little extras for them like resume preps and career counseling
Great guy who makes a dry topic interesting. Does not test much about the math aspect of OM, while many mgt301 prof do. As said before, attendance is mandatory, but he grabs your attention in class with real life stories instead of reading out of the text book.
Jefferson is the man. Dude can teach, he doesnt teach to the bell unless its necessary. The class got out early all the time. Has great stories, goes out of his way to help students. Needs a syllabus though (kinda guessed when things were do). Overall he's awesome. "what is the role of management?"-know that one
This professor is an asset to any institution. Love the way he intertwines his past into teaching. He goes the distance in guiding students towards a solid future. Love the man! If he were single I'd marry him.
He is the best at Bryant! He is very helpful and caring and he is an excellent instructor. This guy knows how to get your attention!
Decent professor, he definitely cares about his students and their progress. The stories he tells are interesting and actually helpful. Tests are hard and he is too opinionated which becomes annoying, but are the only downsides.
This guy is the best Take him very helpful loves us students
Great experience. My grade was not as good as I would have liked, but the lessons learned are well worth taking the class. He is the best at Bryant. His stories and how he ties them to the lessons are priceless. If you care about getting an education and getting ahead I urge you to take him. I only wish he taught more classes I could take.
Ok I will be the first to admit I hate this manditory class but I also have to say Jefferson made the class interesting and I did learnd many things. For that alone I have to say he was really ok.
Great teacher you learn much from his life stories and he really shows how much he cares about us. I will surely take him again in whatever else he teaches.
Best professor at Bryant. Passionate about his students and course. Future students will truly miss out on an essential part of their education. Sad to see him leave.
Guy belongs in a factory, has no concept of contextual knowledge, all he does is tell stories in class, real snorefest, emphasizes what he thinks is important not what the book says. Seems like the only thing that matters is attendance and participation never a chance to talk or discuss, exams take forever, overall nice guy just not great professor
I really enjoyed his class and learned a lot. Nobody does it better than Jefferson!
Second time I took Jefferson. He is the best I have had at Bryant. He has tons of real world experience that he blends into the class which makes this difficult topic much more user friendly. I would take him for a third course if it was available. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Take his courses & you will work hard and you will learn much valuable information
Terrible, stay away from his class. It's his way or the highway. People answer his open ended questions in class and somehow are NEVER right. He has an answer for everything. Grading is tough too, could easily take another prof for this class and have a much easier time!
WOW this guy really gets into his work and is very helpful. I am learning a lot and I know he really cares about us. Love his stories they make the class more understandable
Awsome teacher If you get a chance to take one of his classes you really should
Really good teacher. made class more interesting.
Nobody does it better! If you get the chance take him he is awsome. He is the voice of experience and if you listen, you will lean many many valuable lifes lessons. He knows what he is talking about and his stories are very helpful and entertaining too. Thanks Jefferson for a great experience I wish Bryant had more like you.
I was really scared at first because he is tough, but things worked out really well. I learned a lot. He really explains tough concepts well especially because of his decades of experience in business. If you do the work and study you will come out OK. He is fair but tough, You will not get away with things by bluffing. I would take him again.
Possibly my favorite teacher at Bryant. Really cares about his students and helping them by doing all he can. Lectures can get boring at times but has a lot of real world management knowledge to share. Make sure to read the chapers and outside readings, exams aren't hard as long as you read. Definately take Jefferson if you get the chance.
Good instructor tough mandatory class huge amounts of work. He tells many interesting stories that help connect the text to reality. He seems gruff, but is actually extremely helpful and caring you just have to get past his hard nosed exterior. Do not try to BS him it will not work. I do recommend him.
Wonderful Professor who will open your eyes to the world. Great stories and knows his material because he has lived it. Highly recommended!
This is a very demanding course as far as workload goes it is a killer, but otherwise is OK. He is good and helpful as a teacher. Probably the best I have had so far at Bryant.
Good overall course and if you are interested in learning how to successfully run a business and make $$$$ this guy will help you because he has done it and he knows what he is saying from experience. Class participation and attendance are really big issues, so show up on time and raise your hand for an easy 10 points on your final grade.
Just graduated! Goodbye Bryant U. and to Jefferson, You were the best of them all and I could never thank you enough for all your help and good advice. Had you for mgt 200 and 301 and I learned more in your classes than in all others. Thank you for being a good friend & mentor. I wish I could give you 10's in all categories Thanks again and goodbye
Great class learned a lot
I ran into him at homecoming he was the best and still is for my money. Still helpful and really cares about me as a person. Had him 3 years ago and I highly recommend him to everyone! Good guy
Most inspiring man I have come across, easily the best professor at Bryant. I felt each class I took away something that will be useful down the road, and also some things beyond the textbook. Take him if you want your money's worth.
He is a great guy and actually cares how well the student performs. He is always willing to answer questions outside of class even if its not his office hours. The material is a little boring but he is a good professor and a good person. I recommend taking jefferson.
You will learn more in his class than all the rest combined. He starts out gruff, but he is really caring and very helpful. He gets really angry if you do not do the work, so if you are looking for an easy ride he is not the one. If you want to learn a lot of good information take him.
It was nice to be taught by an experienced professor who actually knew his subject for a change. This was a tough class that was made interesting by his many stories and entertaining style of teaching. He also showed real careing and concern for my progress. I would take him again if I could.
This was not an easy class, but he did make it very interesting with his many stories from his many years of experience. He was very available and helpful out of class. I did learn a lot of good material that I know I will use in my career. Good teacher.
It's frustrating to take MGT201 with jefferson and have friends taking other teachers for the subject that receive 105% for test grades when I would struggle trying to get 70's. You will put so much effort into this class and it will amount to nothing. It is 4 months of complete frustration, try to find an alternative professor.
Tough class but Jefferson knows his stuff. Old Joe case is a hassle, but doable. Tests are tricky and essays are specific. Pay attention in class and keep up with the book and you should do fine.
Genuinely nice guy and wants students to do well. Class is boring and tests are hard but he has lots of experience and is very helpful. im taking him again for MGT301
Some say he is good some say he is just OK. I think he is the best at Bryant. Very helpful and truly cares about us. Many stories that put the text in focus. I am glad I will have the chance to take him for another class next year.
You will learn a lot and he really cares about how his students do, however do not expect an A. Participation grade will be extremely low. Average is 40-50. If you talk 10 minutes a class you might get an 80/100 for that grade (7.5% of class). Very unclear about grading.
He is a great guy who really cares for us. His stories are really amazing. This course represents a HUGE amount of work but you will learn a lot if you do the work. I think he is one of the best Professors at Bryant. Take him
Great teacher very caring and helpful. I am sorry to see his health decline so rapidly. He was the very best teacher I have ever had. Thank you Mr. "J"
Really nice professor and interesting material.
Top Professor who truly knows what he is doing and has great experience with the course material. He is your best option for Operations Mgt.
I am a first semester freshman and I would say I have learned much from Jefferson. He really makes things interesting and I am sorry his health is failing so fast. I wish him well.
Very knowledgeable about what he teaches but VERY difficult grader. He would not correct a grade even when the scantron sheet was dead wrong ?by the book? You can have grades higher than class average but when the class average is near 50 you are sunk. Your personal grade can be fine but he will not make accommodations if you get stuck with group m
Jefferson is absolutely useless. He is probably the toughest grader at Bryant. His averages for quizes and tests are well in the low-70s, high 60s range. If you get stuck with a bad BUS 101 group, you are basically stuck. He also changes his mind about due dates and assignments ALL THE TIME and doesn't tell you when he won't be in class. DONT TAKE.
I honestly don't think everyone gives Jefferson enough credit. I've had him this semester for BUS101, went and saw him today to discuss my grade and standing in the class. Overall, he was very accommodating and truly seems to have the students' best interest in mind as long as you have respect and show effort for him too.
He makes a tough introductory class understandable. He is very caring and helpful. I say take him.
Grades very hard, class average is a low d, high c. He constantly changes the due dates for assignments. Class attendance is mandatory but you are aloud to miss three classes without penalty.
This class is a HUGE amount of work. He takes no prisoners when it comes to making you do things right and on time but you will learn a lot if you hang in there and do the work. It is easy to see that he really cares for our success and he is very willing to help you outside of class. Not an easy guy but a very good teacher.
He is tough, but fair and lots of fun to talk to out of class. His lifes stories are amazing! You will be expected to participate every class or will lose grade points. I have learned much from him and highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn much about the real world but is willing to work hard. Overall great experience.
It looks like a lot has been said over the years and I just wanted to add I took him for two classes 200 & 301 and I would take him for another if it came available. He is the best at Bryant. He really cares and has so many real life experiences that bring the course material into focus. Do not listen to the cry babies, take him and you will learn!
very easy to understand, bus101 is difficult no matter who you have
He comes on tough at first but he is very helpful, he is always available and really cares about my success. I think he is great and say take him if you can.
hands down, BEST TEAHER AT BRYANT. this guy has real world experience with mgt and knows what to teach you and whats bs. graded things are not too hard. he just wants the common sense answer. the projects you work on arent harder than other classes but you learn soo much more. if you have the choice between him and other teachers TAKE JEFFERSON!
If you really want to learn how to do things right and win from a proven leader Jefferson is your best bet. He is great. Just do not try to BS him, he is very street smart as well.
This is a very demanding class and requires a lot of study time. If you keep up with the work you will be OK, otherwise if you fall behind you are screwed. He has many interesting stories which help.
Now I know why my friends say he is the best!
This guy knows his stuff! Every class so far has been interesting and very informative. Ops is a topic I would never take unless it was required, but now I am glad I did as I have learned more in this class than all others together. He is a must do for anyone who is serious about their business education One thing, he will push you to be your best
Best class yet! This is a really demanding topic. He is really entertaining with many stories that help me understand the topics. He is also very helpful during office hours. Make no mistake this course is really tough and you need to study all the time! You will be glad you took him because you will get a lot of valuable info.
Tough course with a huge workload but taught by a truly caring and all around great professor. His classes are the best I have had.
This was a very interesting class and I feel I learned a lot
OMG this class is a lot of work but he was very helpful and my team got a lot done. He has a military precision about him that actually seems to make a lot of sense once you catch on to how he does things. He is great to meet with after class because you can learn a lot from listening to his experiences. In Mgt200 you will work a lot so take him!!!
Great guy who knows his stuff. He wants his students to learn and succeed, but you must earn your grade. Class attendance and participation are a must. Make sure to take advantage of his office hours, especially toward the end of the semester with the more difficult material. Definitely worth taking if you are willing to put forth the effort.
I am glad he finally got some deserved recognition. I had him for 200 and 301 and he was tops! He will work you hard, but it will pay off. He is always available and he REALLY cares about his students. He helped me a lot with both school and personal things. Thank you Jefferson, you are the BEST at Bryant!!
He's ok. He is technology challenged and a reallyyyy slow grader. His exams (m.c. and 1 short answer) are easy but grades hard on the project. The project brought my grade from an A- to a B. His class is really boring and attendance is mandatory. Do everything exactly how he wants it. I don't think I would take him again, but the class is ok.
He is very intense and his classes contain a huge amount of info which I think will prove to be very useful in my future business activities. He is very helpful both in an out of class, but he does not suffer fools lightly, so do not try to play dumb or BS him.
His course is jam packed with huge amounts of great information. It is no picnic, but his stories REALLY make a huge difference for the better. He is really tough about details and you will need to be very careful when doing the Quality Report. He is also really helpful outside of class and what I like is he is fair, but he really is tough.
This is not an easy class, but I really understand why he is rated the BEST in the management department. I have learned more in his class that matters and will help me than all the rest of my classes at Bryant. If you really are serious about learning and are willing to put in the effort required, this is a great class. Attendance is mandatory.
It is easy to see why his sections fill up so fast on registration day. He is the best and most caring professor I have had and I highly recommend him.
WOW I wish I could give him 10's. He is the very best at Bryant and I will take him again for another class. You will work hard, but you will learn so much. His life stories alone pay for the course. Love your course Jefferson I am sorry it had to end.
Great class and a truly great professor
I had hoped for a better grade, but I did learn a great deal and he was a great Professor to end my Bryant career. He really challenged me with a large amount of thought provoking issues. Overall, I think he did a great job.
He has a gruff exterior that hides a heart of gold! One day when he was really busy he stopped anyway and wrote me a letter of recommendation that helped me get an internship and he really helped me to succeed by showing me how to solve complex problems. He should be your first choice for any class he teaches.
Jefferson is the best professor there is. He knows his material cold and his stories really help him drive home his points. I have learned far more from him than all the rest of my professors to date. He is great
I am a Senior who plans to graduate in May. I will tell you first hand, Jefferson is the best combination of dynamic and effective teaching skills combined with a treasure trove of real world experience of any Professor I have encountered at Bryant. His course is not easy, but if you want to learn from an experienced and dynamic pro he is the one.
The definition of the best professor ever! He teaches you things from his REAL life experiences unlike other professors. He has such great stories that help make the subject that much more easier to understand. He is one of the best professors Bryant has ever had.
I am glad I took his course. His stories help make the topics much more understandable. He is very helpful outside of class and you will learn a lot just talking to him on a friendly basis. Operations ia a very dry topic which he truly brings to life with his real life experiences. TAKE HIM!!
Great Summer Class. Great Professor and overall great guy. I learned a lot and I highly recommend him. His stories made the class especially interesting.
Take his class he is the best at Bryant. His stories are amazing
He is not easy, but if you want to be taught by the very best take him.
The word around campus is he is the best there is and now I understand why. I have learned more so far this semester than I have from some of the other so called professors. Register early and pick him first you will be glad you did.
Professor Jefferson is absolutely one of the best professors at Bryant University. His exams can be tough, but he is truly interested in having his students learn the material. It is rare to see a professor that it as passionate as he is about teaching.
Jefferson is a great man, plain and simple. He actually really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His stories are great, go to his office hours if you want to do well in his class. He is a professor who will actually prepare you for the real world. Unfortunately he announced today that this will be his last semester at Bryant.
Professor Jefferson is the most passionate professor at Bryant. He is at Bryant every single day helping his students progress towards their futures which is hard to say for many other professors I have taken. Everything is clear cut in his lectures and he really wants to see everyone do well. I need him for upper level management!
only professor i have learned from
Taken this professor twice and would take a third class. Professor Jefferson makes you work hard for a good grade in his class. He applies real world knowledge and experience to every class. He's a great professor who really cares about his students and does what he can to help them succeed.
Hard class, best professor. Very opinionated in lectures, but incredibly knowledgeable with a lifetime of experience.
without a doubt the very best at Bryant.
Took his class in 09. We worked with the International Institute of Rhode Island which helps displaced people find homes and support(language courses, jobs skilling etc) End of year comments “So you're helping illegal immigrants” in front of the whole class. We got a B because he didn't agree with the view of the NP we worked with. Thanks BU!
