good.
He made sure that we knew the material and would curve our tests. If you show up everyday than you should be fine. Many days he would show up late or not show up at all including on test days. Class is still very hard but his class can be passed if you show up and read your book.

Feel fortunate if Proff Kasparian your Biol instructor. The course is difficult but the Professor simplifies complex topics. READ your lessons twice and some chemistry knowledge is essential. He is a fair in grading.

Awesome professor.... definitely need to read the book if you wanna pass the tests. He goes over most of the material from the book in class but just reading over the notes won't get you a passing grade on the exams. Online homework assignments are easy and if you spend time on them it can help boost your grade
Really smart guy. Did occasionally take attendance the first half of the semester. The material is hard, but he does a good job at explaining things. The few homework assignments were easy, and tests were usually curved. Make an effort, and study hard.
He's a smart guy who has trouble making his students understand. The class itself is easy to pass with all the extra credit he gives and how he curves his tests. However, his lectures are rushed, and scattered. You must read and study on your own or you will fail. Attedance isn't even necessary if you study on your own. Class might just confuse you
He teaches his class as if it were created for Biology majors so stay alert. If you're looking to make an A, study the chapters vigorously. The good news is he gives extra-credit and exam curves. He is generally a nice guy...just don't approach him while he is lecturing. He embarrassed the guy who did that during our class.
Extremely hard class. But, there is extra credit that makes up for it. He is a good prof, but his lectures are a bit rushed, and he is so intelligent that he has a hard time making his class understand the material. You MUST read the book and study hard. But, it's a good class.
Pretty easy teacher, I would recommend taking his class for sure! I did decent on the tests and thought I was going to make a B in the class but he offers an AWESOME extra credit that you need to take advantage of, it bumped me up a whole letter grade so I walked away with an A in A&P 1
I took him fall 2010 and recieved a D only because of the extra credit and curves on test. Took him again summer 2011 and I withdrew the class because there werent any curves and the test were hard.
Terrible! Lectures are boring, and all the class powerpoints are it's pointless to even go. He's terrible at posting reviews for his tests, he usually does it the night before the test and it is really hard to get through all the information.
He's terrible. Powerpoints are online. The only reason to attend class is to make sure you listen up in case a test gets moved up. He doesn't put the review for exams on Blackboard until the night before. The extra credit paper is helpful. But, overall he's a poor example of a A&P professor.
Horrible!!!! His review does not reflect what's on the test, and he does not post reviews in an adequate time frame. He is completely boring and rushes through powerpoints. Take this course anywhere else if you can....
Better than the other option in Curran. Just try to read and study and you should be fine. You'll learn a lot.
Terrible. Never on time, not interested in the subject, awful time management.
He is very reasonable. He curves exam grades that have abnormally low averages and he gives you the opportunity to write a 40 point extra credit paper that you should take advantage of. He is incredibly knowledgable on the subject material and it makes it more entertaining. Be sure to go over the power points and book.
He is an interesting professor. He's tests come straight from the book and PowerPoints. Come to every class, read AND study the chapters and you will be just fine. He does have a 40 point extra credit opportunity, but it is a at least 15 page research paper. He is horrible about responding to emails, so if you have a question go to the SI sessions.
He just drones on and on and on and on. So boring. Tests are hard. Take advantage of the 40 point extra credit paper. It basically gives you an extra letter grade on each test. Pop quizzes, so you have to go to class. Always expect there to be a quiz. Even the class after a test.
I did not find his lectures to be easy to follow. I went to class every day and still ended up with a C. He jumps from topic to topic, skipping things that he claims he will get back to and then he never goes back to them. This causes problems for the tests. You are still responsible for all the information he "would get back to".
This class is like every other tough biology class. You need to read the book or quizlet the powerpoints and study. His class can be on the difficult side, but there are a lot of grade boosters in his class such as the Extra credit paper (worth 6% extra credit), the Quizzes (worth 16%) and the online homework (worth 16%).
This was a tough class. Study hard. An A is possible
So many snow days so he would go over some of the slides he posted online but really it was all up to you to learn the material. The only reason I made a great score on the first test was because i took a class specific on the topic.
Lectures are never ending! Gives an extra credit paper (that he doesn't read) worth 40 point. Honestly if you can get ahold of test banks you will make an A because thats all he uses. Doesn't care about students or helpful when asking questions or returning emails. Pop quizzes also come from test banks.
I enjoyed Dr. Kasparian's lectures. The information presented was interesting, but it's a lot of complex information in 16 weeks. He had a quirky sense of humor, and often explained the material clearly. Although the lecture was good, labs were awful. All you do is do the workbook in a lab room for 3 hours, and there are no labs at all.
i went to every class (tue-thur) his tests were quite easy. he assigns homework online thats like $30 but i dont think you should buy the book. i didnt use it at all. he was supposed to give 10 pop quizzes but never did, he gave us our pop quizzes points off of our attendance. the lab sucked, barley anyone passed
I thought he was a great teacher. He was present and kept the material as relevant as possible. It is a precedent that you read the book and do the homework, but doing that and attending lectures will give you at least a B in the class. To push yourself over the edge (if you might have slacked on a test), do the extra credit he offers.
He is very knowledgeable, but he expects you to learn everything. Although he reads off of the powerpoint, he goes more depth about everything; which is sometime overwhelming. To me class difficult but the lab is ten times worse.
Good teacher but goes into too much into detail that is not needed Find test banks 4 lecture & lab from previous students those help a lot UNT is just not the place to take A&P I RECOMMEND take A&P at a community college! Labs suck here! There was no hands on learning you just read the lab manual for 2.5hrs then get quizzed-10pg extra credit paper
He was often 20-30mins late to class, but complains if a student gets up and leaves in the middle of class. Everything comes from Pearson; all he does is stand at the front of the class and read a PowerPoint he didn't write. 40 point extra credit paper is useful, but make sure you see his SI to make sure your format is right to get full credit.
Kasparian is a nice man, but a TERRIBLE teacher. During class, he has a ppt, but never actually really addresses the information presented, he just kind of rambles. His tests are IMPOSSIBLE if he doesn't use test bank. I truly studied for every test and barely passed any of them. Saving grace is the EC paper. I will say he's better than Curran.
Kasparian is less horrible than the other professor options for this class. That's about it.
I personally thought the class was not bad, extremely passable especially compared to the lab. My particular section never had pop quizzes, he takes attendance but you don't have to go. Plenty of time to do all the online assignments, offers extra credit (highly recommended). Most of my class used text banks, but I used the powerpoints
This class covers a lot of material! Make sure you stay on top of things. For exams, review the lectures and use the textbook to go more in depth. The questions are pretty straightforward as long as you've memorized what he covers in lectures. The lab portion was definitely tough. You really can't fall behind, prepare well beforehand. It is doable!
This class is super easy if you have the test banks. However, he tends to use different test for at least one of the exams, so just make sure to study before every exam. Take advantage of the extra credit paper( worth 40 points). The final is not comprehensive and is 85 questions long. Make sure to study for the final!!!
Dr. Kasparian is a great teacher. He isn't one of these teachers who is tied to their notes. You can tell he actually knows what he is talking about. You have work in this class!!!!! Do the reading and know how the the concepts fit together and you will be fine! If you are not willing to work, then I would suggest finding a different class!
Dr. Kasparian is extremely clever. He is also very passionate about teaching & wants his students to succeed. I will certainly take him again :)
Kasparian knows what he is teaching. You get 5 exams, a grade for the homework, and a 40 point essay. He curved all exams, with one being curved 25 points. You are guaranteed points for the essay, so just do it! The lab was interesting and fun, but difficult. You just need to really know the material. I got an A in both classes, it is doable!
Great teacher, he is very knowledgeable in the field of A&P, you need to read the book and understand the concepts. the test bank can be a good study resource, if you only memorize the test bank you WILL fail. Just read/understand the book and youll be fine. The lab is the worst thing youll ever take. DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER CLASSES WHILE TAKING THIS
He's kinda funny and knows a lot about A&P, but his lectures was basically him chatting at us about anatomy and physiology. My SI was a big help. I got a B by studying the powerpoints and textbook. The exam reviews on Blackboard (canvas after fall '18) were also a big help.
This class was extremely hard for me because of all the information you have to learn. Kasparian was kind of a funny character but he didn't seem interested in helping the class learn more about the material itself.
The exams very inconsistent. It seems like he does not make the exams not does he use the test banks. He is really nice, but the lecture itself was just powerpoints. But I still recommend him bc he gives out lots of extra credit and the exams were not extremely hard.
He does not care if his students learn from the powerpoints. He skips over so many powerpoints and expects the students to learn the material on their own. His tests can either come from the test banks or he actually makes the test so the students never really know until they take the test. DO the extra credit paper and the homework it will help.
As an individual, he's nice. As a teacher, he's not the best. I've had a hard time studying for this class because his reviews are very broad and he skims over his powerpoints. I personally would not take it again and will most likely have to retake it somewhere else.
Good prof, definitely knows what he is talking about. Exams are hard to study for as the reviews never really follow what the exam was actually about, Dynamic Study Modules ARE YOUR FRIEND. The 7 pages extra credit essay and curves on exams saved my grade, I really thought I was going to fail. Taking him again next semester for 2302.
One of the worst professors I have ever come across. He does not care whether students learn or not and often times the test have no correlation between lectures and the test. The class average for the test is usually below a 50 so that should tell you maybe take this class at a community college. But if you ignore this you WILL FAIL!!!
The only positive thing i can say is that he was occasionally funny. He blabbed on the powerpoints and never answered questions well. Once a guy asked a question in class and literally told him to go search it up, instead of answering an easy question. My experience was hands down the worst, DO NOT TAKE THIS OR YOU WILL HAVE NO WILL TO LIVE
This class was unnecessarily difficult. I took anatomy in high school and still struggled! Long, boring lectures. He showed up late to class most of the time. He took attendance randomly but stopped caring toward the end of the semester. USE THE TEST BANKS!! That is literally the only way to pass. Although not all tests go off the test banks...
I would not take him if possible. He seems like a decent guy but the good ends there. He rambles over his powerpoint and that doesn't help for tests. The test reviews are useless and he is CONSTANTLY LATE (sometimes 40 mins late). There is a test bank so I URGE you to use that for help. Also if you want to learn A&P read the textbook. Its v helpful
Lectures are boring. Class is very memorizing base. I study his ppts like my life was on the line and test was easy. I studied test banks as well. Test is hard if you don't read his ppts. Prof only ready the ppts but he give extra credits at end of lecture. Class is do-able just requires a lot of effort.
Very easy to get an A in the class due to the HUGE curves he gives on tests because the very poor averages. Don't even give the test reviews your attention. Study the powerpoints and you should do well in the class. I personally never used the test bank but heard its extremely helpful
Don't take this professor. He never, ever, responds to his emails. We've had to go to the dean to make him respond to us 3 separate times this semester. He clearly doesn't care how his students do. Whenever he does post lectures, he skips almost all of the chapter and comments on useless things. So glad I paid the tuition just to teach myself...
He was very sweet, but I just dont think I understood him due to being online. He went out of his way on his recorded videos to make them realistic, however I just didnt get it. I ended with an A, but I think reading my textbook did the trick.
Extremely inattentive towards his students and doesn't answer emails unless a dean is CC'd. Whenever a student had a problem he always ignored them. Never gave clear guidance on papers and his power-points were just copy-paste from the textbook. You essentially teach yourself in this class and you as students have to carry each other. Ridiculous
I would recommend trying your absolute best to take this class at another school and transferring the credits. If not, always read the textbook, but most can pass this class by rigorously studying the PowerPoints rather than attending lectures. Always CC the department's dean if you need him to answer an email. I wish you so much luck :/.
Let me just get straight to the point... dont even take this class with him. Horrible prof. I literally just show up to class just for attendance and work on other class work because he just rambles on unnecessary topics. I could go on and on about this man and if i do I'lll end up writing a novel. So please dont take his class, Im begging you.
This man does not reply to emails even if you have CC'd the dean. Terrible communication with students, does not help with any questions or concerns students may have. To pass you will have to rely on other students and teach yourself. This class and professor are a absolute waste of time, money and resources. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIS CLASS AT ALL!!!
Never replies to emails even if you marked it as priority or CC the dean. Is never any help when you go to him for questions/ assistance. Doesnt really teach just rambled on you really have to teach yourself. Sometimes skips over people grades, the text book kind of helps it was like some test Qs were different from what was talked about in chs
This was more of a teach yourself class. He will run through slides and start talking about his life stories at times. Also, do not expect a reply back when emailing him. Along with some of the questions on the test not matching with the discussed chapters.
this class is hard (as you can tell from every other review). here's how to pass. 1 doesn't really matter if you go to lectures or not. trust the book. 2 follow book's key concepts outlined. base your notes off of the key concepts, it's super helpful. 3 use chapter tests and quizzes in textbook study area. some questions will be copied from there.
Doesnt respond to emails, he skips through the entire powerpoint, never responds to emails unless you CC the dean, vague exam reviews. worst professor I've taken. He doesn't seem to care about his students, avg for 3rd exam was in the 40s. take welch instead, worst professor I've had and Im a senior. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! NO EXTRA CREDIT!!!!
I don’t know how he’s still employed at UNT. He is the worst teacher I’ve ever had throughout any of my schooling. Rude to students, consistently late, has zero accountability and is never prepared. Won’t respond to emails even if it would prevent WW3. I don’t usually write reviews, but avoid taking him if you can. Hellish experience.
I am a junior and this is the worst professor I have had yet at UNT. Kasparian does not know how to lecture, he will skip multiple slides leaving no time to take notes, and ramble about life stories during lectures. The tests will go over material that is never covered in class, not in the study guides, and not in the practice quizzes.
Take the summer class, it is way easier, and the curves go up to 30 points depending on class average. There are many quizlets, and I am creating some based off the correct answers for the exams (1-4). He skips many slides but says you need to study them anyways, in class quizzes, and a 2-page paper (single spaced) about a disease of your choice.
You will basically have to teach yourself with him. Don't bother going to class it'll confuse you more, you're better off teaching yourself. Skips through powerpoint slides while saying "you'll need to know that." One thing I like are the extra credit papers (super easy 100's just do what it asks). Overall hard class, and he makes it even harder.
Horrible
Test are hard, and there are a lot of notes to take so I definitely recommend getting ahead with the notes, and not waiting till the last minute to do them. Lectures makes things more confusing, or sometimes he just rambles. I suggest just taking notes from the PowerPoints and the textbook than going to his lectures.
I don't feel like words can describe how awful this class truly is. Dr Kasparian seems like a truly sweet nice man However his class is awful, he will go on 30 minute rants during lecture about his college life and the exams resemble nothing like what we learn in class. I beg you do not take this class with this professor.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! the lectures are just about irrelevant as he will go off topic and he will straight up tell you this is a teach yourself class.
WOW does this proffesor go off topic. Yes you will have to teach yourself,HOWEVER his test are the easiest ever and we were consistently getting 20-30 point curves so I aced every single one which was SO nice. REVIEW PRACTICE TESTS HE GIVES SAME QUESTIONS, grades papers easily, homework is super easy. Is he good prof? no. but is it an easy A? yes.
You will definitely have to teach yourself, but to be fair, he gives you all the resources to do so. The few assignments you have to do are graded easily, and the tests are easy to pass if you use the reviews. He is definitely knowledgeable, but his lectures are just him reading out of the textbook. Thankfully attendance isn't required.
Yes u have to teach yourself, but he litterally gives you practice tests and question banks for the tests. Homework and essays are the easiest 100. Just do the work and you can get an A in the class. Attendance isnt mandatory so just dont go. HE CURVES TESTS LIKE 30 OR 40 POINTS! litterally got over a 100 on most tests, Would def take him again!
The slideshows are really long and there are 3-4 of them per chapter, so he rushes through them without good explanations which is nottt good because the exams ask very specific questions. He also isn't good at a answering emails.
hes a nice professor and an easy A its an uper level bio course so of course its not going to be easy, his tests are just like his review and curves his exams 30 ish points every time which is super nice. He's a cool guy not a great teacher but you can get an A in this class no. problem
run away, very awful class. this person has no knowledge.
Professor Kasparian was a pretty good professor, attendance is mandatory, but sometimes he ends class early. He has vocabulary sheets and practice exams located in the files tab of the course, those are extremely helpful for his tests. Also he curves exams based on how many people missed a certain question, so there will always be a curve!
The class itself is tough and requires a lot of memorization, especially for anatomy. However, the exams are super easy if you attend class, do the exam review packages, and focus on the vocabulary. Professor Kasparian is the best anatomy professor I've had. He makes the material manageable and rounds exams, it is an easy A. Highly recommend it!
2 papers for anatomy was excessive not to mention SINGLE SPACED 3 pages. tests were so easy for me because of prior knowledge of bio. attendance required is kind of insane for a college class, it's not high school. every time i went it felt like a waste of time. also only SOME of the exams are reflective of the reviews.. then he stopped
Kasparian is a sweet man but not the best teacher. Every exam I felt like I was guessing which was the correct answer after spending 50 hours of studying before. He did not have time to go over the exams with me. The two papers are an easy 100. He curves, but that is because the class consistently scored in the 40s. I would take a different teacher
His tests are unreasonable - either follow the practice test or go over the tiniest details that we never went over in class. I've worked my butt off for this class and still might get a B and I have a literal 4.0, you have to teach yourself and his exams feel very random and lectures do not define what is on or not on the exam.
He's an amazing Professor! I highly recommend him to anyone taking this class!
He dosent really teach he mostly go overs slides but he is very lineant with test he curves them by like 10 points and all homework is due in may. His attendance is "mandatory" but does not really effect ur grade. He was a nice professor evenn though it was an 8 am he let us leave a little early each class.
The lectures were kinda difficult to sit through, he likes to go on tangents and there are many, many slides per lecture but Kasparian is knowledgeable on the subject and kind. The exams are difficult but the study guide and practice exams are extremely helpful, study the life out of those and with his curves the course is manageable.
One of the best professors I've had. He explains the material clearly, makes tough topics easier to understand, and genuinely cares about his students. His lectures are well-organized and engaging, and he's always willing to help. I felt supported throughout the course and learned so much.
