A really good teacher I would take him again!
he's funny, but you gotta study
Not an easy class, but you will do well if you pay attention and study. He will give you hard time if you don't pay attention. My guess is the people that don't like him are the ones who just show up and don't try. It's a lot of work, people! Do some studying and you will be OK. He's pretty fun

Great teacher. When he teaches he draws you to think more about the concepts. If you want to do good in his class, you have to work hard, because if u slack off he can be a real **** to you. Other than that hes a pretty good teacher.

A real scatterbrain that seems to find numbers very amusing. kind of weird but nice. One of those people who skips alot of steps and just gives the final aswer. I have problems with math I need you to spell it out for me. Didn't get much from him passed the class on my own. but he is nice but I wouldn't recommend him unless you find numbers amusing
if you realy want to pass this class you better take another professor,he speak very fast that you really can't get the idea of what is he explaining. trust me do not take him.
He will tell you, you can ask him questions, but if you ask him, he will get into a psychotic mood, the chalk will scratch on the board and his hair will stand with electricity, especially with repeats and explainations.It is very amusing that in the pictures of B.M.C.C. He is helping a student patiently what a joke, get a better representive.
miller is an excellent professor, i can honestly say i learned alot after leaving his class. i was extremely happy when i found out i did not have to buy any book.
he is a horrible prof. i can not believe he is still allowed to teach. not only is he complicated but he is evil. he hates explaining himself twice and expects students to understand everything.
Dr. Miller is friggin sweet. He won't answer stupid questions, so dust off that noggin and think, just really quickly, before you ask. He's hilarious though and always comes in smiling. Smart as hell, too.

Great if you don't want to buy the book, bad if you want confusion. sometimes he makes it more confusing after you ask a question. his chalk writing is chicken scratch.
He doesn't like to repeat himself and expects you to know the answers as if we're mathematical geniuses. I do love his enthusiasm towards the subject. But since he doesn't go according to the text, it's hard to ask for outside help even from a BMCC tutor! I was doomed from the start.
He is not clear in his messages. Not only that he does not explain the lesson, but he gets angry, nervous. Basically he does not like to be questioned so that means that you learn at your own risk. If you took his class by mistake drop it while you can. if you think you are going to make it, you are also going to feel sorry for yourselv at the end.
This is the WORST prof. in teaching history!!I'm truly going to drop this class. He is off the wall! He doesn't explain anything, he thinks that we are expert mathematicians.He writes like he's calling the chickens home to roost.He's just very confusing! If you want to get into the nursing program at BMCC, don't take MILLER!!

An extremely clear and helpful professor. One of the very few teachers who give so much practice before an exam.He knows that we are capable of doing well and helps us to see that.Don't expect to be lazy in the class and he'll give you an A.If you don't plan to work then it's your loss.He's a great professor with excellent teaching techniques.

Dismissed class early each day and behaved as though he couldn't wait to race out the door. After 20+ years of teaching, he seems to have zero interest or enthusiasm for it. Doesn't use the textbook or provide one comparable to the level he teaches. Hostile when questioned and pressed for further clarification. Impatient, arrogant & uninspired.
Gave practice tests that matched the tests. Not the easiest, but I came to class and listened and got an A with no homework.
hard on me because i I made a complaint to the math department about him. i stayed in his class with great regrets that I didn't follow my instincts and changed my section. I heard him asking another student can she take his test over he say yes, after telling me no. Students he likes he gives breaks, if he don't like you, you should move on fast.
He is the absoulte worst professor I ever had.. I wanted to graduate and read R.M.P.com about him and he had bad rating.I took the chance to graduate but wasted my money on Miller. If you have financial aid, you are still wasting you time either way!!!

The best professor BMCC has ever had. Not only does he teach but also helps you to learn and get good grade. I wish all professor were like him.Take his class and you will never be disappointed
Dr. Miller - knowledgeable and articulate, yet short fused, gets frustrated easily and is condescending to students. Started with approximately 25, of which more than half dropped out, due to his erratic behavior and insults. His expectations of students to know his math tricks and short cuts was unrealistic - taught the course at very high speed.

At first he seems like a great professor.But after a few weeks he changes.The way he teaches math is overly complex,he discourages students from getting tutoring and often screams at the class for not knowing how to solve problems.On the final exam, he will fail you for not using his method of math even if you had enough questions right to pass it.
true gem in the mud, BMCC that is. the way he teaches math is concise, precise and smart. his grading system is extremly fair and comprehensive that you can even guess your grade before he gives it to you. he doesn't seem to care about the attendence, yet you gotta be there always. otherwise you won't catch up since he teaches a material only once.

Dr. Miller is a blessing 2 have! He is extremely tough & he knows his stuff. When u finish ur semester w/Dr. Miller u WILL know ur stuff & u will be able 2 do calculations in ur head, & be confident. Professor would be great professor for an intermediate or advance math course. However for a remial math class he does not have the patience that is need to to teach students who are struggling with math. He can be very rude at times hence is the reason students do not participate in his class and end up dropping his class
this Prof is crazy,is very strict you have 66 minutes for test with no calculator. if you want to pass a class do not take him.
Great professor. If you pay attention and do hw, you'll pass. He doesn't pass attendance, but you'll regret it if you miss a class. For the people who say he's rude, I don't completely agree. He does get irritated by continuous stupid questions resulting from not attending or not paying attention -which is comprehensible- and he'll let you know!
The man knows his stuff I'll give him that BUT I feel like he should stick to more advanced math classes. I had him for a remedial course and he would get very impatient at times. He explains the work well and always encouraged us to ask questions.Make sure you copy all the problems he does and keep handouts. Make an effort and he'll pass you.

The online course he teaches is awful.He jumps around from lesson to lesson, which becomes extremely confusing. On the test he does not give any qustions related to what was learned. He barely elaborates on definitions. His online course is definitely not Introductory. Do Not reccomend this online course.

If you are considering taking his class DON'T!!! and take klement teixeira. He is extremely impatient- creates his own formulas THAT AREN'T IN THE BOOK. And grades you on your use of the formulas. He tells you to ask questions but if you do he embarasses u and becomes very unpleasent. O yea get this. He tells the math tutoring office not to help u
He is pound for pound THE WORST PROF. IN THE HISTORY OF BMCC. I have never been so disgusted and annoyed in my whole entire life. He is extremely rude and has very little patience. He promotes asking questions but treats you like your an idot if you dont understand a brand new concept. Half of the class dropped the class.
I seldomly regret anything in life, but I regret taking his class. He is rude and impatient. He gives ridiculously hard exams and goes through the material extremely fast. He grows impatient if you ask him for help and he puts things on the exam that arent on the review. Avoid him at all cost
he's mostly rude to the students that come in late or are absent constantly. Just come to class on time ALWAYS, and pay attention to his lessons.
I'd recommend Dr.Miller for assisting committed students for producing high standards & obtainable results for timed testing geared towards standardized tests & licensed industry requirement. Dr.Miller is a true dedicator to education - very knowledge, customize knowledge, generous.
He does not test on materials not covered in class. He explains them with full clarity. Tests correlate directly with materials learned so no time is wasted. Dr.Miller did a really great job with my class and was able to maximize results in a much shorter semester. Most importantly, creating confidence in his students in an area he specializes in.
Worst Professor Ever
I'M really enjoying his class. He teaches so well and explains everything into details. I highly recommend if you want to to pass straight up.
HONESTLY, HE IS VERY CLEAR AND THE WAY HE TEACHES IS VERY HELPFUL. YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD TO PASS HIS CLASS. AND AS LONG AS YOU SHOW HIM YOU ARE DOING YOUR WORK, YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM.
terrible teacher... I am struggling in his math class. Yes he is a very smart man but teaches extremely too fast. I have a learning disability and I am honestly completely lost in his class. I do not recommend hi at all to anyone

This class with professor was so nice and useful, but you gotta study hard.If you are willing to study, just take this class.Though,if you wanna get "A" without any effort, you must avoid this class. Though,if you study,you can get "A". :)

He comes off very rude but he's actually an understanding person. He gave us second chances on our tests in order to get higher grades. Gave us one homework assignment throughout the semester. Some proffessors don't give second chances. You get what you deserve. Although I deserved a lower grade, I am very thankful to Dr. Miller.
IDK about this guy. Took him for stats fully online and he is never there to reply to your discussion board post if you need help. Usually replies a week later. Proceed with caution
Ive failed my remedial twice, this is my third time. I never got above 78 . with him it was all above 87. Has stratergies and fallows them in order. he makes want math. IF YOURE NOT FOCUSED, OR JUST WASTING YOUR TIME HE'LL READ IT RIGHT OFF YOU. Students are willing to do more than just register. Registering is not the big step. The good grade is.
I took professor Miller twice and If I could I would take him again. You really have to earn you grade in his class. He's willing to help but you have to speak up because if not he will continue on his lecture and that's what many students fail to do. I recommend any student to take this class but be aware this is not an easy A.
A new way of looking at math. Had to think ALOT. Eventually I got it though. He gives practice tests that are just like the exams (timed) Gave powerpoint notes to help with studying because the book is lousy. I kinda liked the course.

He expects you to know your math. If your background in math is poor, I don't suggest you take him, but if it's great and you don't mind skipped steps or the quickness, then go for it. He barely assigns homework, when he does it's a must. You need to ask questions though. He won't fill in the blanks unless asked. Tests are alright if you study.

Prof. Miller lectures were so complicated to understand. He explains topics once by showing and example and then expects you to know how to do the rest for different cases. Participation doesn't matter in his class. We were assigned two projects, one in the middle of the semester which we never received back and one due on final day. Don't take him

Its Hard to understand the professors hand writing, very sloppy. He expects everyone to know EVERYTHING in a INTRO STATISTIC class. He goes over new lessons fast, and slacks on EXPLAINING IMPORTANT DETAILS.
Like other professors, he expects homework, but Professor Miller allows me and my class two missed assignments the maximum.
If you're taking this class to get into the nursing program and you're willing to study and LEARN med math, take him !thanks to his class Im passing my stat class and my nursing med class. If you really want to learn math he's the one that will make sure you understand it for the rest of your life.

He's very knowledgeable. Amazing at math but needs to sharpen his skills on how to teach it. Sometimes moves a little too fast. Can be a little intimidating. You'll feel as if he already expects you to know this info. If you can keep up, you'll learn a lot & will feel prepared for nursing program. Stay focused & pay attention in class.

Rude to students, very uncomfortable teacher student dynamic in class, highly strict, do not take his class to enjoy the class, if you mean all business then take his class, but for others he may be too difficult. Dont take this professor, i am taking his online class and is very rude. he will comment back on the hws and always find something work with it and talk as if you are stupid. very hard tests and touch grader. i wouldn't recommend anybody to take him.

Just follow the notes, the examples done in class and you are good to go!
During exams, the professor would start writing done the answer key, which made me think that he didn't even prepare himself for the exam. For Maple lab, he didn't even bother handing out the grades for each lab as many students were still curious about it. His hand writing is so sloppy that I couldn't even read what he wrote on the answer key.
Took an online introduction to statistics course. Not attendance required of course. The course work was mostly weekly assignments, with one large project and 3 exams. You could take exam 3 or the final but not both. It was fine, the weekly assignments were manageable and the problems were mostly straight forward.
Awful statistics professor. Never had a teacher get so mad at students for asking about a question or to explain further like him. I do not recommend at all. He doesn't explain problems well enough and is not a good writer so when he'll write on the board it was super hard to understand.
Would not recommend he kept yelling at me asking the same question multiple times because I didn't know the answer. He made me feel uncomfortable I didn't wanna speak in class anymore.

Prof. Miller is not as bad as people make him out to be. He may get loud at the class if we do not answer his questions but he really just wants to know if you studied the content. If you really pay attention and practice the math at home, you will definitely pass his class. I rarely participated so dont feel like you have to either. Do not skip.
While I cannot speak for the quality or level of difficulty in all of the courses Professor Miller covers... I found that the amount of homework (online and some handouts) as well as the weekly pop quizzes, were what helped me understand the work. I've had professors that were considerably less involved before & I have learned more in this class.
Easy A! He is my best Math professor EVER!
He is not an easy teacher. He is not clear when explaining the topic and expects you to already know everything. I didn't feel comfortable in his class because if you get to answer some of his questions wrong he will yell at you.
Professor Miller is dedicated and teaches with passion. He cares for his students. He raised my mathematics abilities tremendously to a high level.
He is a good prof. in my opinion people just don't listen to simple rules, he gives us lectures we watch them and they give us all the information we need for the assignment.I just started his online summer course and its going good so far. I thought it would be a horrible experiencing according to the reviews, but like I said so far so good :)
Now that I'm finished with this course I wish I had dropped him and listened to the other ratings he truly doesn't give enough examples and expects us to know it all. I'm trying to get into BMCC's nursing program and I don't have a chance of applying anymore thanks to him :'(

This is the worst teacher, if you can even call him a teacher. This guy is just plain horrible. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS. Sloppiest handwriting a cave man could of done a better job. This guy's been studying math for so damn long, he believes everybody knows what he knows and he'll get upset if he has to teach it to you.
This guy is the worst professor .I should have dropped him. I wanted to get into the BMCC nursing program but I dont think I can get in now because of him. He doesnt teach you anything. Sloppiest handwriting, very lazy. Gives you one example. You have to teach urself. Test are horrible different from practice test. Gives lots of Trick questions.
I can see that this professor has a lot of bad reviews but in my experience, this is one of the best Math professors that I ever had. In order to enjoy his class, you have to have a solid understanding of math 206 and other math topics that you learned before. Since I love math, I really enjoyed his class because he explains math in practical use.
Lets just say when i took the class i thought to myself i am definitely not passing this class not only was the homework was excessive but the reading was a lot. I never thought i would be graded the way i did and this shows that even if you try it goes noticed. He is a great professor he is definitely a tough grader but nothing is ever easy.

I am not a math person, this professor made math even more difficult. I do not recommend taking statistics with this professor. He barely helped and basically it was a class where i have to teach it myself.
Now lets start with this hes very nice as a person but he is a horrible professor if you want to suffer for the semester go ahead and take him ! If you dont have a study group At least in this class you will fail ! His handwriting is also horrible which takes a big toll on how you learn also smh.
If you can teach yourself math, so go ahead and take his class. It seems like he has passion for math but not so much for teaching.
