Prof. Pico is awesome! He cares about the students in his class, especially those who care for the material. His grading is very clear, 10% quizzes, 25% HW, 55% Tests, 10% Final, he drops the lowest test grade. Also, his practice tests are very similar to his actual exams. Honestly, he made Calc 3 much easier for the summer. Be ready for lots of HW

Pico is the best math professor I have ever taken. He goes over everything you need to know to understand calc 3 and then reviews to make sure you do well on the exams.

Mr. Pico is my favorite professor at ARC! I took him for Calc 1, 2, 3, and DE. Pico and I were both a little disappointed that I didn't complete his entire curriculum, but it was time to transfer to UC. He gives quizzes and lots of homework, but all of these things will prepare you to do really well for the exams and all of your other classes.

I started with Pico in Math 400 and took him for all of the math classes at American River through Math 410. I think Pico is the best math prof. by far for those that want to learn and transfer to a good university.

I worked hard in this class and came out with an A. Although he is a dry professor and lectures can get boring, his exams (which is 55% of the grade) are fairly easy. He gives you practice exams that resemble closely to the actual exams you'll receive. I highly suggest watching Prof. Leonard videos outside of taking lecture notes. Would take again.

I really liked Pico and i really dislike math. I had a C in calc1 and ended with an A in calc 2 due to Pico. Its a lot of online HW but it makes you prepared for the tests and he gives practice exams which are very close to the tests. Use offices hours because he is busy and may not email you back quickly. He may come off rude but he really cares.

Great teacher. I know many people did not like him, because he makes you work for your grade. After this course I left with an actual knowledge of Calc 2. Do your work, don't fall behind and you'll be alright. Online hw is very hard, but quizzes and tests are a bit easier.

Glenn Pico is an awesome professor. He has his little quirks, like don't ask any questions on algebra or trig concepts. He'll put you on blast. He offers a lot of extra credit and drops a few things, which makes his course relatively easy, but don't slack. You still have to work. Helpful during office hours and overall cool dude.

Calc 2 is a lot of work, but when you study you will get a good grade in the class.

Calc 3 is not easy, but pico explains it very well. He gives great analogies, sometimes they are funny. The course is dense, but pico gives you everything you need to succeed. Pico is too strict. He is really knowledgeable though and you'll learn a lot in his class. You can use one 3x5 notecard for every exam (not quizzes). He doesn't really curve, but gives partial credit.

I took MATH 400 and MATH 401 with Pico, and both got A+. There was a lot of HW online (drop 4 or 5), assignments for some chapter (you can get 5 extra credit each), 4 quizzes (drop 2), 4 Exams (drop 1), and 1 Final Exam. He is a great math prof. If you understand the lecture note, study practice exams, you should be fine with the class.

Took calc 1 and 2 with him, passed both with a B+. Humor is fairly dry but sometimes funny. He runs his class in an organized, strict, but fair manner. No nonsense and gets right to the lecture. I took him for the MATH401 as well, and it was nice. He's a very mellow Prof and he handled the online thing well. It is a lot of work, but not because of his teaching style, but because the material is hard. The test questions are literally on the study guides but some numbers are changed. Also the hw is helpful for tests so don't forget about it.

I took Calc 2 w Prof. Pico last year and am currently taking Calc 3 w him again this semester. As always, I really love his teaching style, and he cares a lot about his students too. I deeply regret taking Linear Algebra with the professor at Sac City (Prof. Pico didn't teach LA during the summer) ; I wish I could have taken LA with Prof. Pico.

This is my best online class. After class you can review all of the lecture videos and notes on Canvas. There are reviews that have similar problems to exams so if you study the review you will for sure do well on the exam.

The class is great. Even though the class is online we are able to work in groups on homework and projects. There are videos and notes for each section and and a key for the homework. I highly recommend this class if you want to learn calc 3 online.

Hes incredibly particular about the work you show. I received a less than desirable score on a quiz because I "didn't convince him that i found the limit with the work shown." which pushed my to write better and show my steps! Professor Glenn is the best professor in the whole ARC. He is master in calc 1, 2, 3, and Math 420. He knows math very well. I looked there was some students that rated him in a bad way, but he teaches you in a very proficient level, and he is caring for everyone in the class to help them learn and get a good grade. Awesome professor. I really want to thank professor Pico. He is very organized. His videos and lectures are all in the canvas, which helps a lot. And he is not one of those who do not care about his students. He is the number 1 professor who teaches great things and care about his students.

Prof. Pico does video lectures for each section and you can review the lectures and notes in Canvas. There is homework on Webassign that goes along with the videos. I think the class is good and will take Pico again for calc 3.

I am really thankful to my Math professor, Glenn Pico. He is a great professor and respected. I had different classes with him, and my overall learning outcomes were great. He is the most caring professor about his students. He is knowledgeable about Math and complicated concepts in math. I wish to see him again. He is a hardworking professor.

Took his class online during the COVID thing. Not necessarily the best lectures but he definitely knows his stuff. Started playing recordings from previous semesters instead of doing live after a couple weeks but they were alright. Lots of homework but they help for the 4 exams (drops one). Overall, learnt a lot and you won't regret taking him.

Pico really knows his stuff. Explains math in a way that even I, incompetent as I am with math,can understand. However! You better buckle up, cause there is a whole lot of material to get through. Loads of homework, and quizzes nearly every week. 4 exams(lowest dropped)Also, group projects (gross)&discussion posts. A whole LOT of work, but worth it

This Calc 1 class is great. I took Calc1 from another instructor I could not understand so I dropped but with Prof. Pico the topics are clear and I'm getting an A in the class. The class is more organized than some of the other online classes and if you study for sure you will do well.

If you really want to learn calculus Prof. Pico is the best instructor. I study his lectures and reviews and then it is easy on the exams. Prof. Pico is an awesome instructor and will definitely take him for Calc 3.

I am super glad I took this prof for calc 2. He goes over everything you need to do well in the class. There was always a lot of review examples and review for the exams. The class is great.

Professor Pico is a solid professor. His class is well structured. His exam and questions are taken straight from the review/homework. I, personally did not really like his lectures, so I used Professor Leonard on YouTube. He drops your lowest exam, lowest homework assignment, and lowest quiz. He also uses Proctorio on every quiz and exam.

Be prepared to spend lots of time going over the homework again and again (and maybe a 3rd time), watching and listening to the WebAssign videos, and doing the Master It problems. Form study and homework groups with your classmates (Discord). Prof Pico would not be my first choice. However, I am taking him next fall for Calc 3 - the devil you know.

This was my second time taking Math 400. Professor Pico is way better at explaining and I was actually understanding everything in the class. I was going to take Calc. 2 this summer, but decided to wait until the fall so that I can take Calc. 2 from Prof. Pico.

The class is great. Everything is given for you to succeed in this class. He does video lectures and note that help you learn calculus. There is also WebAssign homework to get ready for exams.

Prof Pico knows his material, no doubt about that. His manner of presenting it leaves a lot to be desired; it's just dry, like reading from a textbook. However, he is accessible and responds to cogent questions and requests for assistance via e-mail and through office hours. He leaves a lot of room for extra credit and drops lowest scores -- nice.

He always has gotten back to me quickly when i need help and the class makes it so you can actually understand all of the math formulas. Do the work and you'll do great in his class. Uses third-party software for homework and quizzes, but uses canvas for real-life submissions AND Proctorio for tests. Lectures are slow and long, but thorough. You'd get every piece of info you'd need JUST from the lectures. Be determined, use ALL your available resources, and you'll do great!

I took professor Pico for Calculus 3. This class was online, and he had a great set of recorded lectures as well as links to a number of useful YouTube videos relating to each lecture topic. He uses WebAssign, which I really love. Tests were proctored WebAssign tests, and you must submit a scan of written work before testing ends. Great instructor.

Great Professor, took him over summer for Calc 1 and got an A. His lectures are a bit long, but all the material is covered. His grading is straight forward and he most definitely sets you up for success. Easy A if you put in the work.

Just finished Math 402 from prof Pico. The class is organized so each module is basically one exam. Really the best part of the class was his lecture videos. Prof Pico goes over a lot of examples but also explains all the concepts and derives formulas which helped me understand the homework. If you study the lecture videos you will do well.

Prof. Pico is great for statistics. He gives lots of chances on quizzes and exam. He goes over the homework so you know how to use statcrunch to solve the problems.

When I started stat 300 along with stat 10 I was nervous because I always do bad in math and I did not no if i could pass. prof pico showed easy ways to work problems using statcrunch and i was able to do most of the homework and quiz. Looks like i'm getting a B so i feel good about taking this class.

Prof Pico is a great teacher for statistics. Seemed like he worked out most of the homework problems for the class and he organized the materials to help students. I really like this teacher!

Taking him for summer. -Buy online module that includes hw and textbook -Tests and quizzes on same module, no webcam -Cengage (the module) is actually really helpful, I don't even watch his videos and just watch the videos that are embedded to the hw by Cengage, they're formatted really well and clean. -Tests are simple (beginner questions)

Professor Pico was awesome. I love how he structured the class and that we were able to work ahead (except for quizzes and exams). Easy to reach and class is straight forward. Homework was distributed evenly throughout the week and does not take too long to do. As long as you put in the work, you'll get an A.

Took last Fall semester. You have to purchase a WebAssign for the class. Tests and quizzes are not difficult if you do all of the homework. However, he does accept late work and only have one attempt on his quizzes and exams, so be careful on submitting your work as he does not give any consideration. But overall good professor.

Would not respond to emails which is amazing when you need help or have a question for a REMOTE CLASS. Allows multiple attempts on all assignments. Really hard to fail if you don't try. Make sure to watch lecture vids as sometimes they cover things that aren't on the homework but are on the tests and finals. Wouldn't be mad if I had to take again.

Very easy and standard class took calculus 1 over the summer with him. Do the homework and watch the lectures and that's all you really need to do. Exams are very short which is nice and include problems that you have seen before. Would take again

Prof. Pico was an amazing teacher. I took the class over the summer, so the workload is crazy. YOU HAVE TO SHOW FULL WORK OR YOU WILL NOT GET ANY POINTS. Show work for quizzes and test. They are pretty easy but timed. Decent amount of Homework. A group project which brought my grade up a a lot. Advice is don't procrastinate, do things early!

I was scared going into stats my first semester of college, BUT EASIEST CLASS EVER. If you have to take stats for requirements, please take him. I can't stress this enough. Hw for every lesson but doable + unlimited attempts for EVERYTHING. Open notes for all tests and quizzes too. Please take him if you struggle with stats but need credits.
