funny guy, relates the info to things we know, highly recommended!
Excellent professor. Funny!
Dr. Richardson is one of the most helpful professors at KU. While his lectures can sometimes be boring, he is an interesting guy who isn't afraid to realize that we are adults. I highly enjoyed him and would reccomend him to all.
Any questions or Deeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww are sayings you will catch from him from time to time. GW is a man of the people who enjoys what he teaches and what everyone to do well. If your looking for a good teacher take GW's class for Amer Gov.
good prof., explains things well, takes all questions relating to the book from his online test. only need a 70% on his tests for an A. if you have an A you don't have to take the final. the portfolios are a little work but its worth it. boring lecturer.
he is boring but grades real easy
awesome professor, really know his stuff
Course is tough with lots of information, but Glenn is, overall, highly recommended as a professor. His grading system is a bit complicated, but I think it's designed to work to the students advantage. He's funny, & a good guy.

very boring class, take notes from power point. fairly hard tests, but easy to get points in other areas.
nice guy but not very clear in class.... but the classes are easy so dont worry about it
I think this class is very hard, his tests are SO BIG that it is hard to study for it all. He also tests you on stuff from the NY TIMES. His grading scale makes it easy to get a good grade. 75% test avg can get you an A. Lots of notes though.
So far Dr. R is the best teacher I've had a KU. A great guy with a lot of knowledge. I'm actually thinking about becoming a polly sci. major. If you take a gov. class this is def. the dude u want to take it from! Democrats all the way!
he is the nicest most dedicated prof ever.. there are many ways to pick up low test grade scores.. he gives notes through powerpoint which makes class most interesting and he has a great sense of humor.. richardson is the MAN!! i def recommend him!
nice, funny, helpful. one of my favorites. if i were older, i would ask him out. great guy. take his class
Dr. Richardson is a great guy, but he is a socialist proselytizer. If you have an opinion other than far-left, bring your A-game or prepare for the propaganda.
it's not that bad of a class but he just gets on my last damn nerve some days. his jokes aren't that funny and i hate how he rubs his hands together in the beginning of class and says good afternoon, good afternoon. AHHH!
funny guy, lots of notes. Fairly hard exams but he makes it easy to get an A. Do all the Journals, you can get an easy A if you do all the work. Kind of slow. Very open teacher.
Tests are on stuff you never went over, essays he just assigns random grades to, constantly injecting his own political beliefs into the classroom, talks of the bias of fox news but makes you subscribe to the new york times, he has a lot of knowledge but it is covered up by his bitter partisanship
Do both journals and you most likely get an A as long as you average a 70 on the tests. Tests are tough, just take the online quizzes and you should be fine.
He gives lots of notes so kinda boring and hard tests but as long as you do both journals and subsribe to the NY times you will get an A even if you get Cs & Ds on the test like me! Really sweet guy!!!
Prof. Richardson seems like a nice guy but his class is not clear at all. His class and assignments given are directionless. Asking questions gets you nowhere. You come out of the class as confused going in...Very nice, butboring guy....brace yourself.
this class is ok.. i'm in it now and i think the tests are hard.. the book and the lecture doesn't go together well.. i just recommend that you get the NYTs and do the practice questions on-line
Dr. Richardson is smart and funny. He's extremely helpful and his class was interesting yet easy. If you do not do well in this class, you do not belong in college.
Good professor. Our class had really interesting discussions on current events. He let people speak and didn't judge them or disregard their opinions. Really cool guy. Excellent professor. His class isn't a breeze, but I learned something in it, and I usually didn't mind going to it.
He is such a nice professor, really wants you to do your best in his class. His grading system makes it very hard for you to fail his class. He is kinda boring at times. He talks about the simpsons all the time. If you need to take a polsci class take him!!
Great power points
This class is supposed to be an interesting course on public opinion and propaganda, but it always turns into him preaching about how much he hates the president and things he does wrong. and if you've got an opinion, no matter what, he always thinks hes right. But he is helpful and wants you to do well in the course. It's just really hard.
He's a great professor. His class is easy. He makes it almost impossible for you to fail. You can fail all the exams and still pass the class w/ a C. He gives you enough chances to make up the grades you need w/ other assignments. He is funny too, he relates almost everything the simpsons, every class he brings the simpsons up at least once.
He is a boring teacher. He makes jokes that ae not funny and he is not very interesting. He is a nice gut and trys to help you, but his directions are not very clear. You ask him a question and he goes all around the world before he even answers the question you asked.
He is a good professor. It is easy to get an A. I his class a 75 is a A. He is a little funny, but of his jokes are dry. I would recommend that you take this class.
He is a very boring professor,he trys to make jokes about everything.Yes he hates Bush, but I do too, so I cant say anything about his Bush bashing.Overall hes a fairly easy professor. He is there when you need him to explain anything, which is most of the time. Dont miss a class or youll be lost,Oh and hope you enjoy the NY times, its a bible to him.
Okay, first off I got a little tired of the Bush bashing. I don't think he should state his bias so much in class. Secondly, almost every class we got off subject with current events. The tests are also a little ridiculous...essay part is easy but mult. chocie can be hard. He is a nice professor but I don't know if I would ever take him again.
Dr. Richardson is generally rather professional in the handling of his classes (and in fact goes out of his way to appear unbiased) but his lectures tend to be dry. He wants class participation but is unskilled at evoking it. Mostly helpful out of class. Knowledgeable of the subject matter and interested. Can be long-winded and self-important.
lecture is PAINFULLY boring, class is more of a pain in the ass than anything, have to get the new york times everday and write 2 14 page papers for extra credit to get and an A, absolutley hates bush, you dont need to read the chapters, just print out the online ?'s and study them
Richardson is an ok professor. He just really lacks enthusiasm, it takes him a long time to get things graded because he likes to watch baseball!.His quizzes suck but he gives extra credit opportunities. If you go to class and get the notes you'll be ok.
If you are a Poli-Sci major, don't hesitate to take him. He is very thorough and as long as you stay abreast of current events and do the readings, you'll be fine. Sometimes lecture can get a little off track where he tends to go off on tangents about the day's front page of the NY Times, but then again, current events are important.
Not a very good professor at all. The class was an hour and twenty minutes long and he spent about five minutes covering the test material. Also, Richardson is very tendentious in his lectures. All he did was complain about how evil Bush is. After two tests none out of the 40 people of in the class had A's.
Prof. Richardson is interesting. He is very intelligent and passionate about politics. He inspires you to take an active part in the american political process. His classes are free-form & flexible enough to remain relevant with the days events. The only disheartening aspect is the number of students unprepared for class discussion. Great teacher!
he's a pretty nice guy. the class kind of sucks though. everyone just yells at each other over a story in the NY times and then he'll spend 5 minutes lecturing but everything that was missed will still be on the test.
This professor is really knowledgeable about the government. He is very biased in the favor of socialism even though he will deny it. He was fun to argue with even though he did not understand my position although he thought he did. I'd recommend him for any conservative or libertarian looking for a fun class, an easily won argument and an A.
He is a good professor, just gets side tracked easily. A lot of the class is discussion on current events. The problem with spending the entire class talking about current events is that a lot of book info is not delivered, but is still on the test, so make sure you read everything and take your own notes. But if you need help, he will help you.
A good professor who knows what he is talking about. Has alot of knowledge of everything he covers in his classes. Gets sidetracked on NY Times articles, which are on exams. Take the online practice quizes for each chapter, they are very helpful for each exam.
Very intelligent man. Always willing to help. Go to class & do the readings and you should be fine. NY times articles are discussed but it keeps you current with events, which is a good thing. Extra credit, quizzes when half the class is missing ( usually just writing your name down) help a lot too. A++
Great guy, great class. Show up, do work & you'll be fine. I'm learning alot.. def. take him!
I have little interest in politics, and he spoke to us like we already knew. I guess he's okay for people who are really into politics. If not, don't take him. Will ask the class a question and wait sooo long for an answer when nobody really knows it. Makes the class slow.
GR is a despicable human being who takes pleasure out of wasting class time and then assigning exams that consist of material from left field. He literally fails the entire class and if he doesn't feel like giving you the grade you deserve, he just won't. He is not helpful, and is very unclear with grading. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He is a really kind guy that you can tell loves political science. I enjoy government so I don't mind this class. However it is annoying when he wastes class time on useless stories and then tests us on things he never went over. Also reading the New York Times sucks. Anyway, an 85 is an A on tests so that is pretty cool.
He is a really kind guy that you can tell loves political science. I enjoy government so I don't mind this class. I do hate that he tests us on the New York Times articles. I read it everyday, and I still can't figure out where he gets the questions from. Anyway, an 85 is an A on tests so that is pretty cool.
Take this class. An 85% is considered an "A". You get points for improvement and my class did bad so he made an 80% an "A". He plays cool music every day. He's VERY encouraging, and always willing to help! He's from chicago but has a Kentucky type accent. Easy to understand, practice quizes online, notes on a powerpoint. You definitely have to study but he's interesting! You'll learn a lot too!
He's really encouraging. You'll learn a lot from him. He throws in some fun trivia & cool stories. He's a cool guy.
He is a nice man, uses his notes, the book and the new york times. His tests are hard, but if you read the New York Times, you will know half the answers. all you do in class is take notes and he doesnt ever take attendance.
LOVE HIMMM.
Is in love with the New York Times. Test questions come right from notes pretty much. Pretty decent teacher for the class.
He's not a terrible prof, but he tries and put his own view on everything and push his own political views on us, I just don't like profs who do that. Also he just rambles on most of the time before he lectures.
GO TO CLASS even though attendance isn't mandatory. NY Times is the most annoying thing about the class. Almost all the test questions are from there and the online textbook quizzes. If you study, you'll be fine. If you miss a few articles in the NYT, have fun failing the test.
his boring n hard
a really down-to-earth professor. you may hate all the work he gives with the new york time's articles, but if you're focused you'll do absolutely fine. a super kind guy who really wanted his students to take away something from the course. tests are pretty challenging but he looks for improvement rather than your average for grading.
This class is complex. If you don't have any prior knowledge of politics, you will mostly likely not do well. However, as long as you read the textbook, you should be able to scrape a B out of the class, since all of the grades are based on the tests. Is very helpful and always willing to answer questions. RON PAUL 2012
This teacher somehow creates a gen ed class into a 300 level course. You have A LOT of information, knowing all the chapters, lecture notes and New York Times articles. Definitely do not reccomended this class. Although its hard he is considerate to tragic events and will work with you when needed.
Class is not the easiest, tests require solid knowledge of the info because they are timed. Prof is also very outspoken on his liberal views. Make sure you know the NY Times headlines as they are a sizable portion of the tests.
DO NOT TAKE. please i am warning you. I took this class as a free elective and regretted every minute. he treats it like a 300 level class. tests are unfair on D2l with a 30 sec limit per question. average test grade in my class is 62. I attend class, read and study and its still a struggle.
Stop complaining about his classes. If you receive poor grades you haven't fully grasped the material. He is a challenging professor but that is what Kutztown University needs. Not your average walk in the park professor. If you want to learn you will.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!! stay away! test were way to hard, they were online but he never gave you enough time. unwilling to help students, its mostly discussion which isnt on the exam. makes you get NYT paper and memorize headlines. Avoid at all cost
Extremely hard tests. All online as well. Class average for tests were ~55%! Avoid if you are looking for an extra/easy elective, you will regret it!!
I LOVE DR. RICHARDSON. He is amazing, and he loves what he teaches, which is why he struggles to teach such a basic class. If you like politics, take him and youll love it. If you just need the gen ed credit, pick a different prof.
Was a good class for 1/4th of the semester until a large portion of my classmates dropped it (presumably after the first exam). Not a difficult class at all. Books are required and must be read. The material is interesting, however the loss of students negatively impacted the quality of the course. Richardson is a good professor.
He was a very nice professor, however, limited your time on exams to a minute per question, which for me was rough because I like to take my time with testing. You had to read, comprehend and answer the questions very quickly. READ THE TEXTBOOK. Nice guy but you need to attend class(and pay attention!!) and work hard for a good grade.
He is a very nice guy, but very hard to understand what he is talking about. His notes are jumbled and tests are difficult. He is very passionate about political science so it's a shame I couldn't follow along with the class. I still ended up with a B (he curves grades!)
het gets really into his beliefs, class gets boring. Class isn't mandatory but receive a lot of notes each day. American Government. Every exam including final was online, therefore even easier. Reading the books help, but again, its online. Also, don't subscribe for times news just look them up when needed online.
He is awesome. Need books
You definitely need to go to class even though he doesn't take attendence, he gives out all this notes during class and thats what is on the exams! Exams are kind of hard, but they are online.
Dr. Richardson is very passionate about American Politics. Took him for American Government for a major requirement and was not dissapointed. Tests are all online and you have a few assignments here and there but if you go to class and take good notes you'll be fine. Also he gives extra credit sometimes for going to class!
He is a really nice guy, seriously. But I absolutely hate history and politics- so obviously this class was not for me. He will help you if you need it, and the tests are online but they are DIFFICULT. You really need to work at it.
He is a good and friendly guy. However, I hate politics and government and I find this class pretty difficult. I attend class and take notes but still manage to get C's on the tests (which is above the class average). The tests are open notes but they are timed and you still have to study. He gets off topic frequently which can make class a drag
All of his tests are online and open notes but before you get excited, you do not even have a minute per question so it's nearly impossible to even get an A on them. I will say though he is a nice professor, but often goes off topic while teaching, and is not very helpful.
Very nice man and you can tell he's passionate about his work but his lectures are extremely long, boring, and hard to keep up with. His tests are online and are open note but no notes or even google will help you get an A because they are impossible. Get ready to subscribe to New York Times because half of the tests are based on random headlines.
This class is awful, i would not recommend this class to anyone unless you have to take it for a requirement. The exams are the hardest things ever and you have less than a minute to answer each one. It is ridiculous.
I had to take this class for my major and he is one of the nicest old guys I've met. However, notes are very unorganized and tends to drift away from the topic constantly. 50 minutes to take 60 question exams - mainly all on New York Times articles, not material from lecture. Takes attendance toward end of semester.
Class was very difficult. Teacher tends to go off topic during lecture which results in unfinished material. Test are timed which makes them difficult but they are online test. Required to read New York Times daily. Would never take this professor again.
Test are hard and timed . He tends to go off topic but is a nice guy
He is a very nice man, but the exams are almost impossible due to the time limits for each question. He does not stay on topic during lecture, and majority of the time material is left unfinished and you need to figure it out on your own. Tests are open book/notes, but its impossible to look anything up in the time frame. Would not take again.
Dr. Richardson's lectures are intriguing with a beautiful manner of explaining things and a nice sense of humor. He is inspiring to students to get more involved. To get the New York Times newspapers, I recommend get as many as you can, and ask a friend with an earlier class to grab some. It feels good to read them and be involved in current events
Richardson was not only a professor to me, but an advisor. He was always so helpful and willing to ensure my experience at Kutztown was enjoyable. He is easy to reach, normally, though sometimes you have to double email. But other than that he is a joy to have as an advisor and a professor!
I don't believe Dr. Richardson is a bad guy. But this class was awful. He doesn't teach with facts. He teaches through his own opinion. When a student trys to challenge his opinion, they are quickly shut down and he moves on. He's EXTREMELY liberal. I found myself lying about my believes to not lose points on his papers. I wouldn't recommend.
Really funny and a great guy all around but the exams are insane!! All exams are at home, online and I still didn't do well on them. Doesn't mention anything about the online quizzes so make sure you do that on your own, and he gives extra credit for showing up on certain days at the end of the semester.
Very nice guy and willing to answer questions. He tends to work his opinion into the way he teaches, whether intentionally or not. He is funny at times, but is an insanely hard grader. His online tests are open book but the class averages are always insanely low, that is how hard they are.
Dr. Richardson was not a bad professor, and his exams were all at home and online - but they were extremely hard and almost impossible. You needed to pick up the NY Times everyday and read certain sections to be able to pass his exams, and even with help the averages were low. Gives extra credit for attendance and teaches based off of his opinion
Solid professor. Interesting and well spoken. Assignments are really easy if you do the readings.
Dr. Richardson is a great professor. The best thing I liked about him is he likes to challenge your beliefs in a respectful manor which gives you a better understanding on your belief.
Enjoyable professor, very relaxed and comfortable. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I loved going to his class. Make sure to get the textbook with a connect code in it!
Richardson isn't a bad professor. He's nice and always answers questions and loves when the class has discussion, but he doesn't force the discussion. However, you have to read the NY Times for the tests, and the tests are 300 randomized questions so you might get questions that you've never seen before. Buy the access code for connect assignments.
Dr. Richardson is a tough grader and class averages on the tests were really low, but there was a lot of e.c. I had over 10 points of it by the end of the semester. He's a very nice man too. There's also more discussion than actual lecturing. My only real complaint is that you can't go back to previous questions on the online tests.
Dr. Richardson is a fine person but this class is utter nonsense. He requires you to read the New York Times for the test, but the questions about the NYT are so vague you might not even know what article hes referencing. He has random in class quizzes to make sure you're participating that are only open for a 30 seconds. DO NOT take him.
class itself was very boring but he made it easy to pass this class. it was literally impossible to fail so I'm thankful for that. helped me to focus on the more complicated classes I was in.
Tests were pretty hard. I'd recommend studying your HW answers and reading the chapter at least once. It was easy to focus on more difficult classes while taking this one. I stopped writing the NYT headlines after the first exam. I did enjoy this class bc of the current political events. He is a nice person and likes class discussions. HW is easy
This Professor makes class unnecessarily hard for no reason. He makes us read the textbook that does not line up with his lectures. He sets students up to fail. It is almost impossible to do well on the tests. His tests consist of articles he doesn't give you and expects you to know them. Avoid him at all costs.
I knew that I shouldn't have taken this class seeing that it was with Richardson, but I did anyway and I regret it. This class was the biggest waste of my time. The material is ridiculously hard for no reason and the textbook is impossible to read. Richardson is also a lunatic with his expectations in his classes. Avoid Richardson if you can.
When the average grade for not a 010 class, not even 100, is below 80%, maybe something on the professors part should be changed. Nice enough guy but he expects too much for what is an introductory course. Not worth the hit on your GPA, choose literally anything else. Maybe he's better for other courses though.
Dr. Richardson is a very left-leaning teacher who will show you that right away.
Good Professor, sometimes the readings and lectures don't line up.
This class was horrible so much work for no reason. Write down New York Times every day and get the app so you can Google articles during quizzes, show up to class because you have in class assignments. Although this class isnt impossible but you have to work for it. Make sure to study
Gives random in-class assignments that will dramatically affect your grade if you are not there. Exam were hard and the averages were extremely low. His teaching style is fine but the information we learn versus what's on the test does not line up.
Decent professor, just like many college courses you will be teaching yourself most of the required material. His lectures help with the exams and he gives opportunities for extra credit.
GO TO CLASS! Lectures are boring but the in class assignments are two seconds and save your grade easily. Exams were very hard 60 questions in 50 minutes. Online exams but you have to study your notes extensively and have notes from NYT articles. I think he curved the exams without telling people bc my highest exam was an 82. Just put the work in.
He is a great guy, classes are very lecture heavy and the exams are kind of challenging as they require a lot of reading material/NY Times articles. He definitely lets his political views be shown in class and can be somewhat hyperbolic with his takes. Despite my disagreement, he makes the classroom very safe for discussion and is a good man
Richardson is a very sweet and very smart guy in my opinion, BUT he is INSANELY DIFFICULT! I'm a freshman in his POL010 class and have had 2 tests so far, both I got a 60(ish) on. He does not tell us which sections to read in our textbooks and has us read multiple NYTimes articles a day because he will have a few on the exam. Makes no sense. Dying.
He's a nice man. Often goes off on tangents in the middle of lectures. Lectures NEVER line up with the textbook reading. Gives random quizzes in class for like 1 or 2 points which if you miss- it adds up.
This Professor gives you timed tests and gives them often. He only gives you 45 minutes to take an exam with over 60 questions. It is impossible to pass. The average grade is always a 60 like it should at least be a low B average for all those people. Also his class is boring. Dont take its a waste of energy and your time AND MONEY LIKE NOOOOOOOOOO
Took this class as a first year seminar. Worst choice of my life, not only is the class full of work, his lectures DO NOT add up with the course material! The classroom is constantly silent with little to no participation, mostly because each of us can't seem to follow what he is asking of us. Words cannot describe how much I hate this class....
Super nice guy and gives really good feedback on written assignments. Very accommodating and encourages polite debate on the discussion post topics. His exams were kinda hard but if you do all of the textbook assignments and discussion posts you can still get an A. He also offers extra credit.
He's a good professor and clearly very knowledge, sadly there is a left-wing bias without a doubt. Tests are difficult and there is a good chuck of reading to do each week but a good class to take as an elective and required for Poly sci majors and minors. No essays in the class, which is great and there is an optional extra credit assignment too.
As long as you put in a decent amount of effort, this class is an easy 100. There was weekly journals and quizzes, and one essay assignment. He hands out a lot of extra credit as long as he believes you put in effort. He is a professor that is certainly not for everyone, but I enjoyed his teaching style. Very unclear grading criteria though.
I took this class as an online course during the winter of 2023 and it was not an easy class, to say the least. There are lots of readings that you have to do if you want to be successful in the course and this is not a class you should take to expect an easy A. Dr. Richardson is a very understanding professor and loves to engage with students too.
Dr. Richardson was a good professor its easy to pass as a gen ed you do have to read NYC times articles but that's easy. I did the connect assignments and got good grades on exams which were a little harder but once you got familiar with questions it was easy to ask. Attendance was mandatory for the in class points which were random.
Tests are very tough. He curves grades, especially for those who participate in class. The highest test score I got was an 85, but got an A for just trying my best. Very understanding for somethings, but didn't give me lecture notes when I had covid which was very annoying.
Dr. Richardson taught one of the most boring classes I've ever taken. He also quizzed on material that was never said in lectures. If it wasn't for the last project, I would've failed the class due to failing several quizzes that he assigned that were about nonsense.
I took this class Winter of 2023 and to say the least this class was very intense and not your walk-in-the-park 200-level course. There are lots of NYT readings and the quizzes are not easy. He gives lots of extra credit on the discussion posts if you put in the effort and the papers do take a lot of effort to receive a good grade.
his teaching was honestly so boring I had a hard time staying awake in class. he also directly quoted something and said a slur.
Excellent professor. His lectures are interesting and engaging. You can tell he loves his job. Tests are tricky and timed but are all online. Has easy small assignments for points. Does not take attendance but will have some end-of-lecture points available so go to lectures if you can just in case.
Very boring prof and lectures. He talked so much and failed to keep the class engaged. Felt like the longer hour of my life but u must go as every class is 1 point. Only a few assignments and a major project at the end of the semester. I suggest starting it early. Directions on assignments are very unclear.
Course expectations are not clear as he reuses the syllabus for the online and in person classes which don't line up. Discussion posts are impossible to get an A on, plus readings and inquizitives it's very hard to keep up. Plus a surprise final essay (NOT ON SYLLABUS) that includes watching a 4 HOUR doc. don't take if you need an easy gen ed!
Dr. Richardson is a very kind, funny man, but his exams are difficult because of the lack of time given to complete them. You're given 50 minutes for a 60+ question exam with some very long questions. There aren't many grades throughout the semester. There were only exams and inquizzitives, with the inquizzitives being worth less than one point.
I would take him for a class again. His lectures are easy to follow and take notes on. Although for his exams start to study a week in advance. Once you answer a question you can't go back, and the exam covers a lot of material. Over all he is very helpful when you email him and does offer extra credit.
He forces you to read multiple New York Times articles every single day for exams, and the class average is a 64 for an intro class. There is other POL 10 professors that are way easier.
Professor Richardson has a unique teaching style, but with tools like unstuck study, you can stay on top of the challenging readings and assignments. The tests are tricky, but he curves grades for participation. Overall, a solid gen-ed if you're willing to put in the work.
While politically, he makes his views clear, he is fair to students of all political beliefs, which I appreciate. The class was informative, but very lecture-heavy and paper-dense toward the end. That being said, I felt like I learned about the presidency and the administration.
Dr. Richardson is a great professor, he is very kind. Class is heavy lectures so make sure to take notes. Homework is easy and a good part of your grade so make sure you get it done. Exams are pretty tough, even with note-taking and attending every class. Extra credit helps. Dr. Richardson made it a great course if you like history and politics!
Said the class was supposed to be student based yet he spoke almost the whole 3 hr class. If you have to take this class, be prepared to fall asleep because it was super boring. Otherwise, he was was a nice and approachable guy. I just wish the class was more of a politics class and not a philosophy or comp sci class
His testing is ridiculous. Like wdym I have 5 minutes to answer 25 questions. It's a you know it or you don't kind of test. We had to read a book have lecture not on the book and know the headlines for New York Times.
This class is one large group project that spans the whole semester, my group had some difficulties and he was pretty accommodating. Professor Richardson made sure that other member's lack of work did not negatively affect the rest of the group's grade. He is also very kind as a person and cares for his students. Wasn't a fan of this professor. His teaching style was all over the place. I felt he didn't follow his syllabus. Additionally, the timeline of the class was crunched/confusing to the point where it was not clear which assignments needed to be done and when. Lastly, when I was having trouble with my group, he was unhelpful and told me to suck it up.
Lots of schoolwork to be completed outside of class. Often keeps class going longer than the end time, as he goes on tangents about random things. However, he is very lenient on late work.
Dr Richardson is a nice professor, and very responsive over email. If you're not a PoliSci major or extremely passionate about politics, I don't reccomend this class. Its lecture heavy, and if you have him in the morning you'll struggle to stay awake. The weekly reading is very dense, and quizzes are hard. For a gen ed, you'll be studying a lot.
This guy is unreal. Like what u do mean i have 5 minutes for a part 2 for exam thats worth around 5 points? Then the homeworks are assigned on a whole nother website that isnt anyone on d2L yet he still scores it for 15 points. Absolutely ridiculous, if your gonna assign homework brobro it should probably be on D2L itself. The lectures are boraf
The tests suck. You have to know things from the lectures, the textbook, any vids shown in class, AND NYTimes headlines. They have 2 parts the first isn't bad but the second is the worst. It's 5 mins for 25 questions and they are multiple choice, he says the second part is meant to be easier bc you can't overthink but I barely finish them in time.
Wish i could shownupnto work and be a annoying c3nt and keep the class 15 minutes long and act like i camt hear my students asking me something
Class is graded almost entirely on exams. Exams have content from lecture, textbook, and headlines from the NY Times. As long as you pay attention to lectures and do the Vantage Assignments you will do well, but if you aren't interested in US Politics consider taking another gen ed. All technology is also strictly not allowed in class.
