Easy going, young and energized to teach, very empathetic and relatable, reasonable amount of reading and writing.

A great professor that is understanding and as forgiving as he can be. He cares about how his students feel throughout the course. A lot of the assignments are readings outside of class but they are not very long and most are genuinely interesting.

Gret professor who truly cares about his students. Lectures are interesting but can be a little boring at times. Gives great feedback to your work and emphasizes making sure you are on track and not lost in the class. Very easy going and relaxed and lenient on work. One thing I didn't like is the amount of busy work readings we had to do.

He is thorough in his teaching, very observative and caring for those attending classes regularly. The coursework is manageable if you invest mindful effort to it, lots of reading, i especially like the section where we write in 5 minutes about random subjects that shed ideas on the concept he's teaching forward.

He is very helpful and understanding about assignments. He wants his students to pass and is understanding when needed.

Glenn is a great guy, just make sure you participate if you are going to be missing class or else you could get in trouble or fall behind. Definitely recommend taking again especially if you are a first year student.

Professor Ritchey is super empathetic since he is a student himself and understands that ENC 1101 for most students is just something that they have to complete and aren't overly enthusiastic about. He also understands that students are likely to be taking other classes which are likely to be a lot more difficult and demanding.

Professor Ritchey Is an excellent teacher for ENC 1101. He really cares about his students and wants to see them succeed no matter what. The readings sometimes feel like busy work but aren't too hard or time-consuming. His lectures are fun and engaging and he is a real interesting person.

Prof. Ritchey gives clear instructions on what is expected for each 1101 assignment and is very open to new approaches to them. If I needed guidance on an assignment he was very willing to give helpful advice. There is a grade for attendance and a decent amount of reading, however he was very understanding and reasonably lenient with the readings.

Professor Ritchey was an amazing professor. This class is an easy A. Just make sure you do your readings and don't slack off. Most of the time he was open to letting students submit a couple of assignments in late because he understands that we have other things going on in our lives. Just don't abuse that. Professor Ritchey is really good at giving feedback, personally helping throughout the course, and giving simple but important work. The only thing I would change would be a better explanation and preparation for the major assignments. His lectures were very fun and interesting. There is never anything in this creative writing class that I do not enjoy writing about. He chooses interesting and thought-provoking prompts for his writing assignments. He is very caring, and the best part is that he will make you love writing. I think that is the best trait any teacher could have.

Prof. Ritchey is amazing for those wanting a chill, laid-back ENC1101 while still feeling like you learned something in class. He's very caring and it's clear he puts effort into making sure his students succeed and submit the best possible work. Required readings are a bit much but I've heard worse about other professors so I can't complain much.

There's genuinely no reason not to take this class with him. He's very chill and friendly to all of his students. As a first-year college student, I easily adapted to college life partly because of him. The work is easy and only requires a little bit of effort.

I'd say he's the best English teacher I've had. My previous teachers ruined writing for me with 17th-century novels and timed writings. However, Professor Ritchey introduces readings that truly teach and evolve our understanding of writing. He reignited a passion for writing in me that I never thought I had.

He is such a wonderful professor, would HIGHLY recommend. His assignments were relevant to us as individuals and what our career goals are. He also has a huge passion for Multimodality so projects were more exciting to complete compared to the common paper, ex. power points, videos , podcasts, etc. The course load was very manageable.

Professor Richey was a very good professor who is very open and wants his students to do good. If you try your best and put time into it, you will do good in his class. My only complaint is sometimes assignments are not given enough instructions and sometimes felt lost trying to complete them.

It's high difficulty but I have heard that every composition class has a lot of work so this isn't that bad. In terms of teaching he is probably so far the most caring teacher I have taken. If you talk to him usually he is always willing to help out and he has open office ours mostly every day.

Prof. Ritchey cares a lot about your success in the course - he certainly wants everyone to succeed and can adjust due dates as needed. He has plenty of office hours every week and can make other time if you need that and communicate with him. may seem a lot but all the work is easy. very easy to make an A as long as you do your work on time

If I could take another class with this professor I 1000% would. I took both his ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 with him and I wouldn't have had it any other way. He is an extremely caring professor and truly wants the best for all his students. Attendance is mandatory but he is very lenient with it as long as you communicate beforehand.

Professor Glenn Ritchy III is very professional. He cares about every student's success. While working in class, he goes through the class and asks if you need help or assistance. He is very understanding and accommodating when it comes to workload and time.

This is my 2nd time taking Prof. Ritchey, and I loved taking him again for ENC1102. He provides a chill atmosphere for students that makes what is typically a boring class more engaging and welcoming. Assignments were explained well and graded fairly, though he was often a little behind on grading. Put in effort and you'll get an A or B easily.

Professor Ritchey did a great job, considering it was only his second semester. Lots of work, but I believe it will benefit me in other classes due to my major. I do find some of the material covered in class with groups to be somewhat pointless, as well as a few assignments to be somewhat meaningless. However, great course.

The - numerous - readings were kind of all over the place and the main project (a research constructed over the whole semester) was not very organized. He's great!

This is my second course with Professor Glenn Ritchey and overall he is a really good teacher. However, he did fall really behind on grading which made it hard to track your progress in the class. The course load is not too heavy and he does do a good job of spreading it out. I would take his class again cause he does have a very welcoming class.

This man is the epitome of English professors. This guy is single-handedly carrying the English department here at UCF. Other English teachers here at UCF don't even speak English. Professor Ritchey is awesome. When you're in his class you can tell that he cares about his students and genuinely wants them to succeed. He gives good feedback on assignments and will literally go around to each and every student and check up on them to see if they are struggling in any way. Just make sure to keep up on the readings.

Overall, Professor Ritchey was a great professor and even with him having a busy schedule this semester he somehow made enough time for his students and course load. He will take the time to explain something through and gives great feedback on assignments especially when it comes to your research paper process. His "Methods to his Madness" works.

Genuinely very kind, caring, and understanding. Getting an A is pretty manageable as long as you pay attention, put in effort, and ask questions. The class is centered around one final research paper, where you can choose the topic, so I think pretty useful skills are covered in this class. Attendance is mandatory.

Very easy class IMO, as long as u show up to class, participate and do the work you'll easily pass. Not a huge fan of assignments that are due at the end of the day bc if I had work or anything else it would mess me up. The final proposal is easy, it's just a combination of all the small assignments you've done before.

ENC 1102 was a lot more enjoyable with professor Ritchey. I usually hate english courses but I didn't mind this one mostly because he is pretty down to earth and uses a lot of memes which is cool. There is a lot of group work but not a lot of reading. his criteria is pretty straightforward and his grading policy is very generous.

As long as you show up, you'll pass. He makes that very clear first week, attendance matters! He's very understanding, so you can show up late as long as you email ahead. Professor Ritchey is a very funny guy. Definitely would take again.
