Mrs. Bennett is a GREAT TEACHER, I signed up for her in 1102. She is clear with all her request, offers to help you with anything, grades fairly (she won't ignore errors, which she shouldn't), attendance is important, read the required material, and show respect. She is open to hear everyone's comments and keeps the class focused. Loved the class!

I loved Ms. Bennett's class. She finds every mistake in a paper, but does everything possible to help you learn to write better. Strict on attendance, but is very understanding and personable. Very helpful. I am taking her for 1102 now and this morning saw that several of my former classmates are too. Enough said.

If you go to class regular, do the work, act with maturity, and participate, you will do fine. And PROOFREAD everything! I came away with a B. Very nice lady. However, she has an angry side too so don't make her mad. She will throw you out of class and give you a zero if you go to class without your assignment.

Very clear on every assignment. Organized beyond belief. Easy to keep up with what is going on in her class. She is a little weird but is a good writing teacher. Has a bit of a temper and is easily annoyed. Lots of students take her again.

Class wasn't too bad, even though I was dreading taking English. She does count off for every little mistake but will let you revise for a better grade if you ask her. If she sees you are trying, she will work with you.

I'm enjoying her class. We read fun stories, take tests over what we read and some literary terms. Write some papers about the fiction. Nice teacher. Gives study guides and tells exactly what to study. Grades a little rough on the papers but is fair.Only problem is she is softspoken and sometimes hard to hear. I'd take her agin.

All you have to do is attend class and take notes!! All her test are from her class discussione....if you don't attent you will be lost. If she repeats something .... it will be on the test..I love her teaching style...very fair..

Professor Bennett is a fair grader. She gives you feedback on essays, which is great. Show up everyday, read the book, use correct grammer on essays and you're good.

Great teacher. All assignments are for a reason and will be useful in the long run on later assignments. Stories and poems vary. The free writing assignments are great and allow more ideas. Only limited on topic one research project. Took this teacher twice and would have a third time if I had the chance.

I took her because my roommate had her and said that she was very sweet. Well that was a year a half ago. She's really quite rude now. She seems to take it personal when you come in late or miss a day. If you can make it to class on time every day and write decent papers I would recommend this teacher, if not, take someone easier.

She seems to enjoy working one on one with students. If you go to her for help before the paper is due, you will do fine in her class. She points out every weakness. She is very sweet, unless you lay out or arrive late every day. I would take her again. The novel we read was awesome. Great read.

Probably the most helpful professor I have ever had. Doesn't mind helping you revise drafts. We read a lot of stuff about different cultures--India, Dominican Republic, etc. Good class. Learned more than just writing. Great Teacher. Much better than my 1101 teacher.

She is very enthusiastic and apparently loves what she does. Very good at explaining all the difficult poems and short stories. I was clueless until she went over them in class. Appreciates the students opinions. Keeps class well focused by making everybody participate in disucssions.

Mrs.Bennett was a wonderful teacher! She was an easy and fair grader. As long as you read what you are supposed to and do your reading journals(which motivate you to actually read) this class is a breeze.I strongly recommend her as a teacher, and cannot say one bad thing about her.

I love Ms. Bennett. I made C's on my major papers but she gives daily journal writing and other work that helps your grade (if you do them). It also helps you be prepared for the class descussions. You just have to responde to the reading. There are no wrong answers on daily work unless you write something stupid and its plain you didn't read.

This class is a total breeze. As long as you do the daily assignments and write your papers. The assignments are easy, a little reading and then you write 300 words on it, takes no more than 30 min, and are usually pretty interesting. Very easy grader as well. Other than the hw assignments theres hardly and work to do for grades. Highly recommended

She's a hard grader on major papers. I made A's in high school and am barely able to keep a B in her class. But she's not too demanding about hoemwork and other assignments. She gets angry if she thinks you haven't read your homework though.

Read model essays and write a response to some of those, like 300 words each. There very interesting topics though so it is easy to write them. And you have 5 major papers to write also. A little grammar, but no test on that. Its an interesting class, no dull lectures. She always asks for student thoughts and doesn't critize students opinions.

She gives a lot of daily writing assigments but theyre easy and are about interesting topics. 5 major essays, and she grades hard on those. But it's a very doable class as long as you participate and your attendance is good. Doesn't take late work without major deductions. I would recommend.

Excellent teacher. No tests. No final or midterm. Our final was a research paper. Have daily short story readings (aboout 3-5 pgs) out of text book (about 3 to 4), have to do homework (write about one of the short stories you read the night before) Discuss the stories you have read the next day in class. Very interactive.

She is a very nice lady. For my first English class in college, she made it seem no so scary. You have to read and you need to do your daily assignments. They are very easy and gives you a list so you know what you are reading and doing everyday. Take time on your essays, she expects the best out of you. I would highly recommend her!

She is a hard grader and it is impossible to pass her class w/o good attendance. She gets pissy if you miss too many days. Participation is very important. Encourages interaction. Respects students' opinions, even if she doesn't agree. Very laid back personality, unless she is mad about attendance. I would take her again; but I rarely miss a day.

Good teacher. I had her for 1101 & she said she "dosen't believe in tests" and now in 1102 we had 5 tests. They arent hard tho made one B & A's on the rest. Just dont like the fact she said she dosent "believe" in something then she turned around and did it. She'll get mad if u miss too many days or if u dont particapate during class disscussions.

She assigns a ton of work. My girlfriend took another teacher and didn't have nearly as much assignments as I did. With that said, her class was very enjoyable thoough and I always looked forward to going to class. Discussions were interesting and she helped me improve my essays. Her 1102 is much harder than her 1101. We covered a lot of material this semester! I didn't mind though because she's a very likeable person. I would take her a third time if I could, but I'm not into the creative writing thing. Come to class, read (a lot), write a bunch of essays, participate to discuss stories, and you are good! She's great.

She is one of the best professors I have had at GSC. She is very organized which helps students stay on track with what is expected of them. She is a fair grader but not easy, and she is a sweet person too. She is an excellent writer herself and does a great job of teaching it to others.

You always know what is expected of you in this class because she is organized to the fullest. She is very passionate about the literature she teaches. I personally hated all of the selections because they had unhappy endings. The poems we read didn't rhyme. But she clearly loved it all and it showed. Very compassionate teacher. I loved her!!!

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to drop her class, however, she was a great professor, always prepared, easy to get along with, and very structured. If you go to class, do all the writing assignments and the essays, participate, you will do fine. I will take her again.

Unless you are a total slacker, don't attend class or do your work, you won't have a problem with this teacher. She is very sweet most of the time but does seem to get very upset with people who don't do what she aks. Fair grader and Gives reading journals to help your final grade. I recommend her to anyone.

I have had her for 1101 and 2. She is easy, a good/fair grader, and missing some days won't hurt your grade neither. I would def recommend her for a professor!!

I had Professor Bennett for Am. Lit 1 this semester. This was her first time teaching on this subject, and while she is a good teacher, the lack of knowledge showed. One benefit is that class was always out early b/c we ran out of things to say. Tough on essays, but if you work hard, you'll get a good grade. Study for tests & you'll do great!

Covered a lot of material and the readings were difficult. Could have chosen better readings. I don't think American lit is her background. She is however, an excellent writer, so she grades essays very roughly. The actual literature tests were a breeze though. She makes good comments on essays, but it's not a writing class. Very pleasant person.

Loved her. Had her for 1101 and 1102. Very professional. Passionate about teaching. Gives feedback on essays. Always makes herself available if you need help. Very approachable. If you do the work, you will make a good grade.

She expects alot so I got help directly from her with eVERY paper. She is very helpful and easy to talk to. Have to read a lot and write about what you read. Not an easy class but very doable. This was my favorite class ever! By Far! She loves poetry and shares that love for writing with her students. I hated to see it end. Thanks to Professor Bennett, I am more confident in writing and sharing my poetry.

I enjoyed this class. There is a lot of reading involved and 10 reading responses. She doesn't grade them for grammatical content. I found this class rather easy if you read everything. Pretty much just a comprehension class. I would take her again.

1102 with Bennett is pretty easy. Go to class, read the material, and write the papers. Only thing is Bennett is very quiet and does not do a great job steering her class. If the students are also quiet(like my class) the class will be very awkward

Super easy! I don't know if she was just feeling lazy this semester but she graded our papers VERY lightly. She is so extremely patient and she is always willing to help.. usually just telling you the answers to class work given if you just ask her. She likes to chat. She will talk to you forever you want. Highly recommend for and easy grade.

Prof Bennett is such a sweet lady and you can tell she loves literature and discussions. She really likes class discussions on the stories in class. There were only 2 papers during the semester and I wouldn't say she graded too harshly since I got a 98 on the research paper and am not a great writer. Do the work and readings, you should get an A.

Overall a very easy class. But the semester seemed to last forever because it was so boring. You will have daily reading for the first half and then be working on papers the rest of the semester. Almost all of class time is spent just discussing the readings, no lectures. She is very specific about her expectations for assignments. little feedback.

She's a very nice lady, however, I feel like she can sometimes be very vague and judge-y. You have class discussions over the readings. She said she sometimes gives pop quizzes, but for our class, she gives them almost every time, so you have to read. She uses the quizzes as participation & also grades attendance. Only have 3 papers & a final paper

She was the best English teacher I have ever had at the college level. Her grading was very fair and there are only 4 papers for the class. She does give a lot of quizzes randomly so attendance does matter. Altogether, it was the most stress-free English class I have ever taken.

If you try hard enough, she will see your effort.

Professor Bennett is extremely understanding and if you show her you're putting in effort, she will work with you. Lots of reading but it ties in to her lectures well.

She is GREAT! I loved all of her classes, regardless of the weird topics she does. Our class was over the topic of death, but it made the class really interesting. Be expected to present and talk during the class, because she does include extra boosts to your grade if you speak during class.

As long as you show up everyday and do the class work youll be fine. She likes topics about health and thats what all the essays & presentation is about. Shes a really good professor! Im not a strong writer but if you ask for help she will and going to the writing center really helped me.

I actually really enjoyed taking her class. I'm not the greatest writer ever but I got A's on all of my papers. As long as you meet the criteria and think outside the box she's not a tough grader. Our class was based no the topic of health which was very interesting. Only 1 presentation at the end of the semester.

Professor Bennett is a great English professor. Her class was heavy on group work, and allowed you to work with your peers, which I personally enjoyed. Overall, I would recommend Professor Bennett to anyone who has a previous love for English, and is not afraid of hard work.

While the topics she chooses for us to write about were a little weird (all papers in my class had to be related to health), she gives very clear insight about what she wants and is very willing to help. As long as you show up and follow her grading rubrics, it's an easy A.

Dr. Bennett was a fantastic teacher! She always responded promptly to emails and was helpful. There were weekly reading, discussion posts, and journal entries, but it really wasn't that much. She's a pretty light grader; if you do the work, she'll give you an A. She didn't give a ton of guidelines, she just let us write, which was a nice change.
