This teacher is the best there is! I recommend her to everyone. I had her for 2 semesters. She is down to earth, funny, and she makes the class interesting. She cares about her students dearly and is a very positive and motivated professor.

Shi is the best professor that i have had so far for 3 years at JJ. She gives 1 mid term and a final. Her tests are fair and made of true- false, multiple choices, and very short essays so they fit to everyone's test taking skills.

professor browne-Marshall is a very effective teacher she gives you like ten cases you have to brief i know it may seem alot but the way she teaches makes it easy she is very strict in her classroom but you will actually be able to understand the class

I think everyone should have this professor. She actually enjoys what she does unlike some professor that think their job is a chore. She is understanding,funny,positive,and an all around happy person. Just don't let your cell phone go off in class.LOL.

Exceptionally brilliant and articulate. She knows her material and teaches it well. Can be demeaning at times, and often quite sarcastic. If your only concern is to learn, this is the course. You will never look at the Constitution the same again.

She's the best. I took her for 2 classes. She grades on 2 exams and 10 briefs, class discu and she gives an extra credit assignment. If you want to learn alot and get help with career choices, she's great. If you want to just show up, take somebody else.

Umm, lacks in personality. Very anal with classroom rules and has an attitude but... She knows her subject. You will learn alot. Her tests are fair and she gives you 2 chances on every assignment, plus she actually reads your work. Allows extra credit. NOT a HOT teacher.

she is a nice teacher, funny at times. 10 briefs=25%, midterm=25% and final=50%, so if u fail the final you screwed. but the exams arent that hard and make sure u have ur constitution with you at all times or she will get nasty. but shes an awesome teacher.im takin her again,take her if you can.

She is a wondeful professor, there is one midterm and one final. A couple of easy briefs but you get a check for doing them and they only count as class participation. The lectures are clear and she makes an effort to make everyone understand even the dumbest student. The reviews for the exams are exact an helpful, no curve balls.

She is a pretty good professor. The class is very easy and she explains everything so well that you'd have to be an idiot not to understand. The only issue I had with her is that sometimes she ran the class as if we were still in high school. Got to change that!

Just to echo what everyone else said,she is definitely helpful, you can tell she enjoys the constitution and she will teach you to enjoy it too. She makes you work but is very fair and in the end its worth it.

I have never in my life enjoy any law class like this one. She makes it fun and interesting. She loves her constitution and she makes me enjoy it even more. You have to take her class. Not an easy A, but just work hard and u will be fine.

Extremely helpful and very Knowledgeable, makes the class fun and interesting, though gives a lot of work and it's not too flexible with deadlines... as long as you do your work and go to every class you'llget a good grade.

The way she makes class fun is the way she acts. Everyday going into that class i knew i was gonna be laughin. She always puts a smile on your face. She makes the class easy by relating things to everyday issues.

shes nice, u do get ur moneys worth, she can be tough at time makes u actually learn from her,10 case briefs midterm and final is worth 50% but tells u what will be on it. i loved her got an A-in class but u do have to work fopr it. she knows what shes talking about and does make it fun.

TRULY THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE COLLEGE. Her classes fills fast. Tough, fair grader, knows her material. Very approachable, friendly & helpful. You MUST read ALL material and do ALL your BRIEFS & you will pass exams.

She is a Good Teacher, but strict. Take her if you are a serious student. You MUST read the cases and the tests will be easy for you. Gives Midterm/Final, court visit paper, and a few briefs to be submitted.

I Also took this professor based on prior comments left by students. She def. knows the law subject but her class is not FUN. She gave two case breifs and both pass/ fail ..... you miss a minor detail and you WILL get a zero. I would not recommend

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. She assigns a midterm, final, presentation and a semester paper. She knows her material extensively and addresses all questions and coflicts effectively. Very outspoken, you must read the material and the cases. She is nice, but a very to the point grader, in other words, you must do the work. No easy way out.

Good professor that knows her info and likes to delve deep into race issues. 12pg paper, take home midterm & final and a presentation about the paper. Don't skimp out on the amount of pages on your papers, she'll tell the whole class how you didn't do the right amount. Infectious personality, really gets you to relax and explain your race theories

She can be tough. But she is great. I failed the midterm, but completed an extra credit paper and the briefs and passed with a B plus. She knows her stuff, has zero tolerance for students that don't take her seriously. You really learn alot but you do have to do the reading and participate as well as completing the 3 to cases that she asks you to

She's a very good professor. She's a former attorney so she knows her stuff. The class can seem overwhelming at first but she really isn't that bad. She expects a lot from you so if you don't want to put forth any effort I'd say skip this class. She's also pretty strict about class rules but it makes it easier to grasp the work.

had her for 2 class sessions then she leaves us to write a book. her replacement was the worst professor ever. i'm upset because she seemed like a great professor. however she needs to get her priorities in order. is she a professor or an author?

Prof. Browne-Marshall is one of the best Professors at John Jay and essential in the faculty which comprises the Law and Police Science Dept. There are standards and expectations that must be met in her class, however, if you're an inner city student that doesn't take getting an education seriously. She's not for you! Very proud of her!!!

Im not going to lie, she is not the most easiest prof at Jay but she is def someone that will extend her hand and try to help you as much as she can. I wish I could take another one of her classes. Be ready to learn.

She is a great professor. Knows what she's talking about because she's an experience attorney. She will make your learning experience interesting. Nevertheless there is a lot of work to be done, so be ready for that. I highly recommend this prof.

Shes easy. knows her stuff regarding the class. Her book is interesting but with alot of grammatical errors. Shes okay though, easy A. I dont understand why people are saying shes a hard grader. Almost everyone in my class came out with an A and no one did the readings. Tip: Does not like you to email her

One of the tougher graders out but willing to help you if you go up to her, just do not act childish as this is a capstone course. The class got overall bad grades on exams but she is willing to give extra-credit for the slack of the class. She does inform you very thoroughly on the subject.

Prof. Browne-Marshall was great overall. She is hilarious but speaks truth concerning social issues. We had to read a book, a midterm, final, paper presentation and an essay. If you do the reading and pay attention you'll do well.

She really wants her students to learn. Wants you to read and assigns small sections in the chapters for each student, be ready to discuss. Her midterm and final are super easy (open book) She is hilarious so don't be so uptight 5 minute presentation and 6 page paper on topic of your choice. Great professor! Funny! Snarky when students are late or rude. She wrote the textbook, and you need it for class. She takes attendance randomly, but you need to be there to fully understand material. There are short briefs of court cases due once per week, mid-term, and final. No paper. Extra credit for both tests offered. Tests are not too hard.

She gives a midterm, 7 page paper, presentation and a final. The midterm and final are both open notes and open book. You need the book as she gives readings on it and She assigns pages to each person makes you state what you learned or found interesting. She's a civil rights attorney, very respected person. I'd take another class with her again.

She's clear on her grading criteria. She'll give extra credit opportunities, so take advantage of it. She takes attendance randomly from time to time. As long as you show up to class do your assignment and study for your exams you will do just fine. She makes sure you understand and know the materials before every exam.

Professor Gloria Browne Marshall is a very interesting professor. I had to retake this course and it was such a huge difference. She really wants her students to understand and think about the Constitution. A few case briefs, midterm, group presentation on a case, and final. She reviews for the midterm and final. Extra credit is offered as well.

Best professor at JJay , her textbook is written by Pro: Browne-Marshall, her lecture are never boring and she also hilarious. Both midterm and final exam are open book and notes and don't be late to class. You're have to submit a 8 to 10 page research paper in the end of the semester anything that involve in race & law. Easy A+

She will thoroughly prepare you for the exams, and guide you on the case briefs. She is there for you, and wants you to succeed! Overall, a great Professor, and a great class! Definitely take her!

The textbook is a MUST ( she is the author). This class consists of 10 case briefs, a midterm, a final, and an extra credit case brief. She's very passionate about Constitutional Law, and you would leave her class with good facts. You will NOT know your grade throughout the semester. Participate and turn on your camera!

Professor Gloria Browne-Marshall is very passionate about her class. Pay attention to the lectures, do your work and youll pass. My advice is do not use online for your work or youll get a zero. Textbook is required. The work is fairly easy. My only concern is you dont see your grade until the end of the course.

In the beginning I thought I would hate the class because it took a while for me to warm up to the professor, now I can honestly say that this class is worth it. Ive learned so much in such a little time, shes passionate about what she teaches so do not take her class as a joke. the work load is easy just be prepared to read. Be respectful !

Professor Gloria Browne-Marshall cares about her students and wants them to apply themselves, so theres no half-slack work accepted. Be sure to participate, and make sure you buy the textbook, which is written by her, and have a US constitution handy. There is one midterm, one final, and ten case briefs. You wont regret taking this class!

I do not appreciate the negative comments, I understand that the professor can be strict but those comments are not true, do not spread false information. she is a great professor and you will learn a lot. I highly recommend this class if youre ready to experience a college level class.

Shes the best professor to teach constitutional law and you will leave the class KNOWING your rights, but if you didnt spank the constitution, nor participate, youre not gonna succeed in this class. Without even receiving my grade yet, I can still say that this was the best professor I took online. Since the start of the pandemic I have been taking mostly online classes, and this professor made me feel like I was in a classroom environment and made the class extremely interesting. If you are not lazy, and pay attention, you will do great!

Cool professor but..DO NOT PLAY IN THIS WOMANS CLASS! She will stop the class if she doesn't feel you are on the same page as her. She could be a bit persnickety at times but if you do your work you will breeze through it. She makes you buy her book as the text book for the class. With that said, I highly recommend her.

Professor is educated and has a lot of experience to teach from! She uses her books to teach and all you have to do is read the assigned chapter(s) before class and be ready to discuss. Just follow the syllabus! One paper that you have all seamster to do, midterm, final, and extra credit. Very easy with interesting information and skills to learn

She's a great prof and very accomplished. Just do your reading and know your stuff. That's all she asks. Don't ask stupid questions that could've been answered if you actually read. Show up and participate. No homework other than textbook reading. Midterm and Final only. TAKE HER. Will be a great connection for your future.
