Very nice and easy to understand. If you pay attention and show up to class you will get a good grade.

Good lectures, relies too much on PPT and goes to fast for note-taking.Wastes about 10 minutes every other class carping on people coming in late. Very liberal politically so if you argue conservative or libertarian, be ready with good points.

She has been super nice and helpful. She sends me emails over the netty net. She tells me to go to honors functions, but I don't ever go because she will probably look at me and I will freeze like a beez.

Dr. Cox is an amazing teacher. I had her for PSCI 1040 and 1050. She genuinely cares for her students and is so passionate about government. She is always in her office during office hours and enjoys to help.

Possibly the best teacher I've ever had. Expects ALOT of the students, pushes them to do best work.

Fun and interesting. Plays music when you're coming into class and makes time go by really quickly. Smart and funny, easily one of my favorites. One caveat - if you don't do the homework and you don't elect the test-only option, it will affect your grade.

Wonderful teacher and person. Mandatory class for all students, and Dr. Cox makes it fun and informative. Some of the tests require a bit of studying, but not impossible to earn an A with effort.

Love this lady. If you give her the respect she deserves, she will return the favor. She can talk for hours straight about nothing in particular, but she is incredibly intelligent. Gives comprehensive reviews and grades very fairly. Take this class if you can.

Professor Cox is one of my all time favorite professors. She is obviously passionate about the material that she teaches and she brings that into the classroom. As long as you come to class and listen to the lectures, tests should be fine. I would recommend this class to anyone!

Easy class. Dr. Cox is very funny and her lectures are fun. She gives out attending quizzes occasionally. Tests are online and it does tend to get harder toward the end of the semester. Just buy the access code, rarely use the textbook.

I love love love Gloria Cox! If you're able to, try to sit in the first few rows of her class, she's lovely to converse with before class begins. I didn't look at the textbook at any point and I only missed class twice. Show up because she does random attendance days. A lot of the tests were online which makes it easier IMO. Do the online work too!

She is such a sweet professor! I really enjoyed her class and I plan on taking her again for 1050. I got an A in her class and I didn't put forth a tremendous amount of effort. For my PSCI 1040 class, all of her tests were online making them very convenient. Lots of extra credit opportunities! She made this class very entertaining and painless.

Read the textbook for the first two tests along with going to lecture, got a B on both. Only went to lecture, still got a B on last test. It makes no difference don't bother buying the book BUT GO TO LECTURE she reviews each chapter. Extremely nice professor, you can contact her about almost anything. I'm taking her for 1050 too.

Professor Cox is amazing. She is funny, and really makes a large effort to engage ALL of her students. She even begins semester by saying that if you show up, you'll pass. She gives a lot of extra credit for attendance and puts "give away" questions on tests. Only negative is that she goes on tangents a lot, which can be distracting and confusing.

Fantastic Professor! She posts her PowerPoints after lecture on Blackboard, but did elaborate on bullet points. Important to attend class. Gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. Would take her over again if I could!

You don't really have to read the book that much if you take notes during lecture and she posts her powerpoints online. Her tests are online and easy if you study for them! I loved her class.

Basically: She's awesome. Hilarious, inspiration, and very clear guidelines. Extra credit, reviews and an SI make passing a breeze. Highly, Highly recommend.

She is kind, funny, real, and open-minded to all opinions, which makes her the perfect person to teach this class. She will never disrespect anyone's opinion. She adds fun, personal anecdotes to make lectures more interesting. Easy online homework every couple weeks and online tests. Strongly recommend.

She has clearly defined guidelines, stresses in class what will be on the test, and is always prompt with posting class discussions online. She's also good at remaining as neutral as possible in a subject that can be a hot topic for many students. You don't HAVE to have the book, but I would strongly recommend it.

Dr. Cox is such a great professor. Her lectures go by fairly quickly and she speaks on things that she thinks the students will find interesting. She is very woke while still remaining neutral on controversial topics. She also gives you many extra credit opportunities. She is accommodating to reasonable needs and is very kind.

I love Mrs. Cox. You can tell that she really loves what she's teaching. Her tests aren't really that hard and they're all online, but if you want she will give you a printed out version. While the book isn't necessary, it can help you study for the tests. The online workbook is mandatory and out of it come the only homework grades.

She is the most caring and sweetest professor i have ever had at UNT. She's so generous and so loving and she cares about ever student and what they want in life. She enjoys working with her. As long as you're respectful she will try to reach the information to you in anyway possible. She feeds you the answers to the test through the powerpoints.

Dr. Cox is a wonderful teacher who is very nice and tries her hardest not to offend students while discussing material. The classes are mostly lectures and it is important to take good notes as the tests primarily take from the lectures. The tests are not hard if you study and she often gives a curve of a few points. Extra credit is given as well.

Professor Cox was by far one of my favorite professors in my first semester of college. She was able to make a really dry subject fun and she really cared about student opinions. Her classes are just lectures, however she posts the PPTS online. She gives out lots of extra credit and her tests are online with an optional final exam. Attendance taken

She's really passionate and she cares about the subject more than anything. This woman has dedicated her LIFE to government. She lays everything out on the syllabus and the assignments and tests are online. No way to fail this class. So show up, sign in, enjoy her lecture, and DO YOUR ONLINE HOMEWORK and you will get a 100 in the class.

A wonderfully passionate and articulate lecturer. Posts power points online. The semester is clearly planned in the syllabus. We had 1 research paper (in the majors-only course) which she gave excellent feedback on. Study for tests! I never cracked the textbook but they are available for checkout in eagle commons if you are so inclined.

Amazing teacher! She's really passionate about the material. Given, the material is not difficult. I took no more than a page of notes the entire semester and got an A in the course. 10/10 would def take again.

Dr. Cox was my favorite professor my first semester. She is clearly passionate about what she teaches and is very approachable. She posts the PowerPoints online so if you miss a class, it's not the end of the world. I highly recommend taking PSCI 1040 with her if you can. You won't regret it!

I loved this professor mainly because I was able to keep an A without attending class. If you do go to class, she gives good lectures very well (though she does get distracted a lot) but I don't like lecture based classes. She posts the notes and powerpoints on BB and this semester all her exams, including the final, were online.

Dr. Cox makes lectures very interesting, even when they cover dry material. Tests can be taken in class or online out of class, so you can pass them REAL easily by taking them online. The final is optional if your grades are high enough! Also do yourself a favor and finish the workbook early. There is a textbook but don't buy it if you go to class.

Dr. Cox is incredible! She is very inspirational and cares a lot about her students! Her lectures are very interesting as she incorporates facts and news regarding the political world! She does a very good job with being pellucid in complicated topics! I highly recommend for anybody who is taking political science to take her!

I had Dr. Cox for both 1040 and 1050. She is extremely passionate about politics, and tries to remain as unbiased as possible. Her class is lecture based and attendance is taken. She often encourages students to offer their own opinions. Her tests and PPTS are posted online and based off of the review. She offers lots of extra credit opportunities.

I took her for the Summer I session (5 weeks) so the class was very condensed but you could tell she was clearly passionate and informed on the subjects she was teaching. She posted powerpoints online after lecture and provided lots of opportunities for extra credit. The textbook wasn't a necessity at all but there was an online workbook.

Extremely kind and smart woman. Shes hilarious, and I love her lectures. She can sometimes doze off and go on about personal experiences, but shes very good at making sure her students know the material and understand it. I wish I could take her again, I havent missed a single class because I enjoy going so much!

Gloria Cox is the best professor I had this past semester. She nurtured my love for political science and made me feel secure in my major. There are four in class tests and a final but if you take all four tests in class and like your grade you don't have to take the final.

Prof Cox is a sweet lady who really cares about what and who's he teaches. The class consists of four easy exams and workbook assignments which are extremely easy. She offers extra credit after every exam bc she really wants her students to pass and do great. Her lectures can be tedious at times but she does her best to keep you motivated. Easy A!

If I could take her again, I would. I was not even going to bother writing a review since she already has so many good reviews, but I love her because she really cares about her students. Grading is simple, five tests, drops lowest test, workbook, and attendance (if you show up, you get points).

I LOVED HER! She's the sweetest and brightest Professor I've had so far. I learned so much in every lecture. I highly recommend you take her, there's only 4 tests and an optional final as well as tons of opportunities of extra credit. Alright so here it is boys and girls I got an A, B, and C's on my first four test. I didn't take the final. As long as you do all of the online homework and make 20/20 on them you're good! So fun and sweet. She's very animated, which makes lectures way better and keeps your focus. LOTS of extra credit opportunities, and the work you are graded on isn't difficult at all. Responds really quickly to emails too and makes herself available if you need her. It's very clear how much she cares for her students. Overall, she's great.

I had this class at 9 AM and it was a joy to have such an inspirational voice early in the morning. Her lectures are amazing and she goes over some things that will be on the test but arent on the PowerPoint. This is to give students who attend class a leg up. Class participation was low and she saw it but she will reward you if you participate.

She's an amazing professor. Her homework is easy, chapter questions that take 5 minutes at the max. Show up and listen, and you'll pass. She makes all chapters available before test to study so you really don't need to write notes in class.

When I first took this class I was scared because it was my first semester at UNT. However, she made the class easy and clear. Attendance is graded. Grades based on points where we get numerous of extra credit. You also don't have to take the final exam. Remember to shake her hand, she shook hands with Rosa Parks and a few presidents. Professor Cox is a good professor. Her reviews are really helpful, and if you study, show up to class, and do the workbook, you should do great. I enjoyed her class, but one time she made me feel intimidated when I went to her office hours. She accused me of not going to class when I did not understand a concept, but I went to every class.

*COVID Semester* TOO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT. You have to try to fail this class. I made over 100%. You need the workbook. 4 tests plus final, drops lowest. 8 workbook assignments that are on quizlet, attendance is graded, but you can make it up in Extra Credit. Most tests are curved. She probably gave extra credit for writing this review.

Only used book for workbook section since her lectures cover everything you need for exams. Her lectures are amazing and she really cares about her students. We did use the textbook for workbook assignments but that is about it. She tends to ramble on about random things during her lectures. She is so sweet and really cares about her students. She has been so understanding and compassionate with all of the ups and downs of Covid-19. As long as you show up and pay attention, you will be fine.

Professor Gloria is an absolute delight. She grades on a points out of 600 and gave a lot of extra credit. Because of the pandemic, attendance wasn't mandatory and she gave extra credit for attending both in person and zoom lectures. If you show up and turn in the work book assignments, this should be an easy A.

Love Dr Cox! 4 tests, no final. 8 workbook assignments 20 points each, very easy!!! In person and remote attendance are extra credit, as well as extra credit quizzes. Her tests come straight from the reviews which come from the ppt slides she posts! She was the best prof, definitely take her if you can!

Professor Cox made PSCI more interesting, her lectures were long but not tiresome. She does assign workbooks from the textbook but those are easy to do on your own time without a deadline. There isnt alot of homework, her test reviews reflect her lectures and power points very well! (Do Those!) Attendance isnt mandatory but is extra credit.

If you have a pulse, you can pass this class. However, this course is heavily agenda driven. Little if anything is learned in class other then what the professors politcal beliefs are and why you should believe them too.

Doctor Cox may go down as the most caring, understanding professor I have ever had. She goes above and beyond in every single lecture, ensuring that you not only know what you are learning, but why it is important. Keep up with your online textbook work and tests and you will not only ace the class, but be glad you took it.

I don't think I've ever come across a professor that cares so much about both the subject she's teaching and the students she's teaching. She makes a typically blander subject captivating, and does everything in her power to make sure her students succeed and feel welcome; she even personally walks through the isles before class to greet us.

Must attend 30 classes for attendance grade but after that, it's up to you. Skipping class is a bad habit, some test questions you only find out in class. Great professor all around. Minimum effort and light study habits will keep you in the A range, not a significant source of stress.

You can definitely tell just by being in class how much she loves to teach and how much everyone loves her the same. She's a really entertaining lecturer and she really does want the best for her students. You do have to go to 30 classes though for a grade, but the most important thing to succeed is going through the reviews before the tests.

This was her Capstone Internship class, she was an absolute angel as usual. Just the absolute sweetest. Checks in with you a few times throughout the semester to see how the internship is going then there's a paper at the end to reflect on your experience. Super kindly graded- class avg was a 95. Easy A and wonderful woman, take her while you can!

Love her!!!!!!! She is an inspiration, and has actually worked in Congress in the past. Her lectures are very entertaining, as she has some personal stories along the way. She cares about her students a lot and is passionate about political science! (Also she's very unbiased)

One of my favorite professors I took so far. The homeworks are easy 100s and open until the end of the semester. Her test is average and if you do the review she gives and comes to class, you should be fine. She also gives plenty of extra credit so if you are bad at test taking like me, it's bonus points since her class average is base off points.

Professor Cox is the nicest professor I've had. She gave amazing lectures and loves what she teaches, and genuinely wants you to succeed. She didn't put her own beliefs or opinions into the lessons and encouraged you to make your own conclusions on issues.

The coursework is very straightforward, and the exams are easy as long as you look over the reviews. Attendance is graded, and the lectures can feel a little long, but she tries to make them interesting for everyone. I recommend taking her class!

I LOVE DR.GLORIA. She is such a sweet beautiful lady. I will say that her lectures don't always go with what we are to be learning, but as long as you do and memorize the test review, you will be fine. She has such a pure want for her students to do well and pass, she truly cares for her students. I for sure recommend you take her class for PSCI!

Incredibly kind woman who seems to genuinely care. As someone who hates history and government I came out of this class able to say I still hate history and government, but she at least made it tolerable. Lenient grader with a lot of extra credit. I don't care about politics but I found it funny how often she tried unsuccessfully to hide her views.

I took this class because it was required and I would take another class with this professor again. While attendance is mandatory, I looked forward to her class because of her excellent lectures. I could tell by the way she taught that she genuinely wanted every one of her students to succeed in her class. I love this woman please take her class!

Great professor who really cares about her students. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Homework is very easily and worth a lot of your grade. Exams can be a bit hard, but the extra credit makes up for it. Only 3 / 5 of the exams are counted. Highly recommend for PSCI 2306

SWEETEST LADY EVER! Gloria is a wonderful professor who cares about her students and their learning. Her tests are very memory based which sucks because it is hard to catch up if you miss even one day. She is nice but tests are difficult since I had to miss a lot this sem but the homework is open all semester so that is great. Love her always!!!

One of the best professors ever! The lectures are entertaining, workload is easy, tests are multiple choice and if you use the study guide you'll do fine. Attendance isn't mandatory but you get a point for each day you go, so it can help your grade in the end. Overall this class was one of my favorites. Definitely take it, you won't regret it!

Cox was a really fantastic professor. It's very easy to get an a in her class as long as you do all your assignments. She has quite a few extra credit assignments too that can help bring your grade up. She was incredibly sweet and made the lectures more interesting than I thought they would be.

She lectures with slides during every class and is so entertaining that I enjoyed going 3 days a week, plus attendance is 6% of your grade. The tests are really hard if you don't do the study reviews, but she drops your lowest grade and provides a lot of extra credit. Really cares about her students and has a passion for educating.

Dr. Cox is very sweet and caring. Attendance is worth 6% of your grade, and she always gives out free extra credit. I honestly think she is too nice though. It's almost impossible to fail to be honest, if you fail, most likely you didn't put ANY effort in her class.

Dr. Cox was by far my favorite professor I had during the semester. She is unlike any other professors that I've had as she will go out of her way to design her class so it is as easy to achieve a grade of A as possible. As long as you show up and get your attendance grade and engage in the lesson, you should be fine

Cox is an easy professor and she gives decent lectures but a fair warning, if you took AP or Dual Gov in HS you will be bored out of your mind in this class. She just teaches back over things you learned in those classes which makes it easy but boring.

Dr. Cox is a great and extraordinarily understanding teacher. She knows that many of her students don't always want to be there, and she understands that. She is funny and kind to all, while remaining very engaging for those who genuinely care about the topic and field. There was a textbook, although it was online and only used for a few tasks.

I took her government class and I really enjoyed it. Professor Cox is really passionate on the topic which makes her interesting to listen to. Our exams are the majority of the grades, but they're not very hard, though I would recommend studying a little bit. This class is definitely easier if you show up to class.

I love Mrs. Cox. She's an amazing professor. Most of her content comes from lectures, so I highly recommend going to class if you don't wanna miss anything, but she also posts notes which is very helpful. She is very understanding and communicates and fixes issues at the speed of light. Very great! You're very lucky if you have her.

She's one of the best profs I've had. Extremely nice, funny, and accessible outside of class. It's mostly lectures and it can get boring but she always makes an effort to engage with the students and clarifies information that isn't on the slides but might be on the exams. The reviews for the exams were also always spot on. Take her if you can.

She posts the slides and most questions come from there, so make sure to read over the slides to be prepared. She's a great lecturer.

Dr. Cox is one of the best professors at the University of North Texas. She is approachable, knowledgeable, caring and always finds ways to make bland material exciting and interesting to learn. She is overly qualified to be teaching at North Texas, and I would wholeheartedly recommend taking one of her courses to anyone with the opportunity.

Dr. Cox is by far one of my favorite professors here, she cares about her students and hopes you learn a few things in the course. She makes the tests very easy by still somewhat based on in-person lectures. She tries to make each lecture engaging and fun despite the not-so-fun course itself. She does care about her students and is overall great.

This professor is amazing I have nothing negative to say she grades very fairly, gives extra credit, drops grades, and curves tests. There isn't anything you can complain about at that point attend lectures take notes and its an easy A.

Wasn't expecting my polisci prof to be my favorite this semester. Her lectures and overall personality are just so enjoyable. My pitfall was not realizing the grading was point-based, not averaged, but that's my rookie mistake. Other than lectures, the work is in the online textbook and the exams in class.

Amazing professor you can tell that she really cares about her students. The only thing i would warn about is that some questions on the test are about stories she tells in class so you have to be paying attention, but all other questions will be from the study guide. Other then that 10/10

The subject matter was boring at times, but Dr. Cox was a great lecturer. Homework is through the Soomo workbooks. They're very easy to get through. You can get away with minimal studying and still get an A in this class. The study guides she provides are good outlines of what to expect on the exam.

So accessible and kind, you can genuinely tell Dr. Cox understands and enjoys the subject matter she is teaching. Offers a ton of extra credit and is all-around great!

Tests and quizzes rely heavily on lectures. Dr. Cox gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester and also allows students to retake an exam once without any questions. Homework is graded and easy. There were no class discussions or essays for the semester I attended.

She taught well, she gets off topic really easily. She's funny and I know she wants the best for her students. Attendance is required though, she doesn't excuse any absences, I had a serious accident and she wouldn't excuse the absences. Take notes, her exams have a few questions of random things she said in class.

I will miss Dr. Cox's class and lectures. 4 exams and optional final (3 highest scores count), lots of textbook assignments but are easy, and attendance is heavily required. Memorization is key, and you can get an A if you show up to class and take notes, then review/memorize them after. Class grading system is structured on total points, on avg.

Dr. Cox was always amusing and kind in her classes. I was in a class with 500 students and though she had this many students, she still was able to get the material across. 10/10, i would 100% take one of her classes again.

She will even tell you specific test questions and answers during lectures. I would say always go to lectures! overall great lectures and funny person very kind!

This class was so easy! Impossible to fail unless that's your goal. HW is only eight chapters, which can all be finished in one day. 4 exams, which she curves, plus one optional final exam. I was stuck at an 88 with the last exam into account and didn't take the final and Professor Cox literally rounded my grade to a 90.

Literally the sweetest human being on the planet. Her lectures are easy to understand and funny. She will mention things in class that are going to be on the test, so going to class is beneficial. This woman cares deeply about her students. She's also very knowledgeable. I remember someone thought they had outsmarted her on one of the first days by "fact checking" a claim from a very specific part of the Constitution & she already knew what they were talking about & why their claim was incorrect. She knows how to make a lecture engaging.

Such an awesome professor, had her last semester and this semester. The class is super easy if you go to class, and attendance is sort of mandatory, meaning you get points for attendance but you cant get anymore than 60 points, so you don't have to go to class at all after you grt you 60 points!

Perfect Instructor knowledgable about government policies and the constitution. She is up to date with day to day real world topics. Makes lecture interesting. Attendance points + extra credit opportunities. Tests at Sage Hall, 4 tests(count highest 3 scores) final optional. HW is short + easy. Funny. Will let you out 3 minutes early.

Does not give busy work, lectures are interesting. She is really funny and caring. Definitely recommend taking her class, the best professor EVER.

Gloria is wonderfully knowledgeable in her field and she shows it in her lectures, albeit sometimes diverted by stories or humorous dialogue. Textbook is required for workbook assignments. Tests can be difficult if you don't study, but the class presentations helped. never made above a 90 on exams, and I think I'm passing with an A.
