Professor Del Rosario has been great. While the class requires participation & chapter preparation, I know she is preparing us for the "real world". Her teaching style is different from other professors I have had. Be on time, do your homework, preview the chapter and you will be okay. Tough but fair.
She's tough but has her heart set in the right place. She's pushing you to LEARN the material not just remember for a day. It seems everyone is looking for those professors that give you open book everything and this isn't the case with her. So, for all you future accountants, do you think the CPA exam will be open book? Think about it.
This class is preparing me to take the CPA exam. Unlike other Professors at the University who give open book for all tests, she is helping me improve my problem solving skills and study techniques. We need more Professors like Professor Del Rosario at CSUDH. If I have an opportunity, I would take another class with her again.
Prof Del Rosario is by far NOT an easy prof. She assigns ALOT OF homework but her grading is fairly easy. She comes from industry and is a first year professor, so she's very much a work in progress. But she does demonstrate that she cares for the students and is willing to make adjustments. I'll def. give her the benefit, she wants to improve.
Professor Del Rosario is a great professor. She introduced a new study techniques where students participation is a must. She encourages group work which I think is helpful to better understand the material. Having professor Del Rosario for 2 classes this semester is a pleasure and a big plus to my educational and professional path.
Professor Del Rosario works really hard to prepare students for professional life. Learning the material is its main objective. The professor uses many new study techniques to improve the students level and grades. She is a great professor and I recommend her to all the students who are wants to graduate with a good amount of accounting knowledge
Professor Del Rosario is an excellent accounting professor. She takes her time to explain terms and concepts in good detail. There is a lot of work, but all homework, class activities, and quizzes were useful to master the concepts. Plus, she tries to prepare her students for the CPA exam. I absolutely recommend her for accounting courses.
Some of these reviewers think they can just walk through school. Look, her class is nothing crazy and she is awesome. Read the book, do some homework, take some quizzes, and take 3 tests. It is not hard people. Stop being lazy and read the friggin' book! Quizzes are online and test are made up of hw and quiz questions, verbatim. Read and get an A.
Professor is very good.
Excellent Professor. She is very knowledgeable about accounting and you will actually learn accounting instead of just getting the answers. She will definitely prepare you for the CPA exam. I highly recommend her for all students who are planning on getting their CPA!
Amazing professor! She prepares her students for the CPA exams by being helpful and being thorough in her discussions. Exams are fairly difficult but if you understood the material it shouldn't be that hard. She does give a lot of homework but it's a good practice for the exams. Also, she gives a lot of bonus points to bump up your grades.
If you participate in your education, you know take responsibility, you will find that she is a teacher that you can work with. I believe that she cares if you learn but will not baby you. Show up to class ready, ask questions and you will find that you have found a partner in your learning experience.
In my 2 years of CSUDH, this professor by far has the perfect style of teaching. Its not an easy class, but she genuinely cares if the students perform well and if not, she provides all of the assistance needed to clarify the confusion, even if its means to receive an email sent at 12:05 AM and responding at 12:25 AM. Perfect CPA prep!!!
I transferred from CC and I admit I was not prepared for how difficult this class was going to be. I was surprised how fast we go through the book. I almost dropped but I decided to talk to Professor Del Rosario. She understood the toughness of the class & the transfer from a CC. She was very positive with me. Gladly, I stayed in the class!
It was hard but it's doable, it's college so prepared to work
Great professor, gives great feedback. Lots of Hw but it is all easy points that will add up in the end to help your grade. 4 exams with questions from previous quizzes and HW. do the work and get a good grade. Show up to class because she uses part of the lecture to answer the HW questions and it is helpful.
Don't take her! Her teaching style is for high school kids. Not a college degree student. She gives so much work that makes wondering about working for her class only. This course is very important to learn the subject very well, but try not to take this class with her. You have been warned!!!
Busy accounting course the first month is a lot of work but doable. Homework questions, exercises and journals are assigned. 9 quizzes on blackboard and 3 test in class which you can use a 3 x 5 card for notes . NO cumulative final.
Get ready to work. Quizzes are online. Gives lots of HW. Even on exam weeks you have tons of HW plus studying for exam. Gets overwhelming keeping track of all the due dates. HW, Journals,Research Journals,Course plans, quiz & exam redo. Gives incentive pts but must earn 100 to get credit. Study quizzes and concepts for Exam. Do HW points add up.
If you really want to learn about Cost accounting, I highly recommend her. She makes you put in the work but it's worth it. If you're looking for a easy "A", take someone else. Her lectures are very thorough. She's not going to hold your hand.
Professor Del Rosario is one of the best professors I've ever had. Her mixture of in-class participation, lectures, and homework are all really well balanced. What makes this professor stand out is how much she enjoys teaching accounting, and how well the material is communicated by her. If you're serious about accounting, take this professor.
Ms. Del Rosario is a great teacher. If you take her be ready to learn and do homework. If your education matters this is the class and teacher for you.
excellent instructor. course work was presented primarily via textbook with her own personal examples of work in the real world. I work in the industry and immediately related to what was presented in class on an almost daily basis. show up to class, read the book, and understand the HW and quizzes
SO. MUCH. WORK. During the first month expect HW due on Mon, Wed, Fri, and a quiz on Sunday. You will definitely learn, though. She does not accept late work, and will have no mercy for your excuses. The HW isn't worth a lot (individually), but it adds up to a chunk of your grade. She's a good professor, however not very good at explaining.
take during the summer! If you need to take this class, then do it online over the summer! It's worth taking during the summer, if you only take this class! This class takes away a lot of time off your schedule.
She's a great professor for accounting. She does know a lot about the subject and tries to get you ready for the real world. The only thing is its a lot of work that does take up a lot of time and if you're not too sure about something, I would say double check with her in person in office hours. I would say always double check with deadlines.
This was the most time consuming class throughout my college career. She does nothing more than assign a ton of homework from the textbook that takes hours. She makes you film yourself with online exams (which is weird). Smart person, but not a good teacher. If you want to save yourself a ton of stress, take this course with another professor.
Professor Del Rosario is a great professor. She is tough but fair and always willing to work with students who are willing to put forth the effort. If you are lazy and/or unmotivated then her courses are definitely not for you. However, if you want to get a good grasp of the material I strongly suggest pushing yourself and taking her courses.
I've taken this professor twice, in class and online, and both were extremely different experiences. In class, the professor is very tough and gives a lot of assignments but does well in explaining the material. Online, she doesn't actually teach and instead show vids of other profs teaching and the hw is graded by students. So, don't take online.
Prof. Del Rosario, is a bit of an off teacher. She uses too many 3rd party resources in order for students to get work done. She doesnt grade your work in the class until the end but if you forget to turn in an assignment you get a 0 super fast on your grades. Even if you got 100s on all the test does not mean you will pass the class. SO MUCH HWRK!
I am taking a large amount of accounting units this semester, and I am spending 90% of my time on this one course. Also the teacher doesn't lecture on videos online, so you have to study every inch of the textbook to do well on quizzes. Only take this class online if you want to spend a HUGE amount of time on cost accounting.
While she has a reputation for being tough, she has her students best interest at heart. You will learn a lot more from her than any other professor in the accounting program.
She invites you to participate in class which helps you understand the material. it's a lot of work, but its keeps you motivated. It makes you study and change your study habits to be a better student. only wish she gave partial credit. get ready to do homework, but you'll see the results at the end of the semester.
Professor Gloria is a very good Professor who teaches the class with compassion for helping students comprehend course assigned to them. i learned alot in my Auditing class that was not taught to me before i took Professor Gloria Del-Rosaria she's number one for learning course and retaining information for the future career choices.
Professor Rosario class helps you to learn by participating. Try not to miss class or else you will be lost and not earn any incentives points. Highly suggest to get book or you will not survive. Highly urge to read and do all homework. Every Quiz and Exam answers are in the book. Overall, great professor(:
Professor Rosario is a great professor. All the tests and quizzes are online so you can take it whenever you want, Also, all the homework is turned in on blackboard by the due date. Group assignments are helpful because you can ask your peers if you don't understand the concepts.
The teacher can give a lot of work during the week but it all helps the student learn the material better and actually understand it. I recommend doing all the work and staying on top of all due dates and you are guaranteed to pass the class!
Professor Del Rosario class is heavy on the homework as stated by many, but because of this the material really tends to stick. Her lectures are really helpful in covering material that will be on the test, but you will still need to go over your notes and text to pass the tests. If you looking for a class whose info really sticks I recommend hers.
Professor Del Rosario cares for the students. Yes, she does give a lot of work, but that work does help with learning the content. She also does constant reviewing to ensure that the student's won't forget content that was previously lectured in prior chapters. The amount of knowledge learned will outweigh the amount of homework given. Enroll !!!
Rosario cares for her students. Relates class to the real world as much as possible. There is a lot of work but thats how the material sticks. If you want an easy grade, dont take. You earn the grade you deserve. Work isn't hard, but there is a lot. Time management is key, and thats why she has all that work. Refer to syllabus, it helps a ton.
It is an online class but its very hard to pass. Its a lot of work but you will learn. Weekly homework, Journals, Excel Problems, course plans and assessments. I've taken her for three classes, and her work intensive methods make you learn. Do not take her if you are lazy.
I had Instructor Rosario (not Professor) for classroom instruction and she wasn't that bad so I signed up for her online course. It's a disaster. She doesn't know how to format an online course. Her format couldn't be less intuitive and her instructions are nearly useless.
Too much work! 1 Individual 10 page CAFR essay, 8 quizzes(1hr per quiz) & 5 exams that require lockdown browser & webcam(she records u for quizzes/exams), Unclear due dates/expectations. Instructions are everywhere & she often posts them last minute but doesnt extend deadlines. If u make a small mistake she will give you a 0. Useless instructions .
Hardest class I've taken, hands down. So much homework, some weeks I would spend 15+ hours on just this class. I learned a lot but on my own, she doesn't give lectures online. Quizzes, 10 pages essay, group work, video presentation, exams, questions, etc. Get the book, you'll need it if you want to pass and make sure you get in with a good group.
I would highly advise EVERYONE not to take this professor for ANY course she teaches. Be prepared for a completely unorganized course plan. Extreme delay in email responses from the professor. Does NOT give enough time for assignments/essay deadlines. AVOID AT ALL COSTS DO NOT RISK YOUR GPA!!
Avoid at all costs if possible. She has work due from day 1 and counts it as week 0. Her assignments are all over the place and she provides little to no explanation of how to complete them. Lockdown browser + webcam required. Seems more like an obligation/job than a learning environment.
Gloria is different from all other accounting teachers; she teaches through experience and through the book. Her direction and motive of the way she constructs her class is to prepare students to take the CPA exam. Even though she might seem like a tough cookie she is cares about the students learning. Be ready to hit the ground running on week one
Professor Del Rosario is a good professor for this course. She consistently reinforces the fundamentals of accounting into the lecture and does a great job of tying in accounting theory to encourage learning. She is extremely interactive and is a great teacher for people that may want/ need a consistent workload each week.
This professor can be a bit tough, but she does this because she truly does care about her students. She wants us to learn the material, because this the purpose for to student to learn. Thanks to this class I was able to finally learn more about Accounting than what I learned in previous courses.
Professor Rosario exhibited an abundance of accounting knowledge. She will reinforce the basics in the beginning and expand throughout the course, but still check to see if you know the basics. She emphasizes studying using index cards. Her style is different and challenging, but if you stick with it, you will learn a lot through the course.
This class is not for those who want an easy grade. The professor is tough but you will learn a lot from her class. In the beginning of the semester I struggled to adjust to her teaching style, but after the fourth week it wasn't so bad. You will be assigned homework and group assignments. You can do it! Stay focused and you'll be fine.
This professor will help you actually retain knowledge, some of the work could be said to be rigorous but personally it's for the best. I also believe it's how you go about studying and preparing for assignments and exams. This class can be very qualitative even if you struggle from time to time.
I think Mrs. Del Rosarios course will give you a great insight into intermediate accounting from a professionals perspective.
Professor Del Rosario gives a great insight into Intermediate Accounting from a professional standpoint with experience.
Although the professor required a lot of work, she was an amazing professor. You learn a lot and if you do the work and attend class, you should be good! Get ready to learn and participate.
Teacher has a different manner of teaching so being a student who likes to remember rather than problem solve will struggle during the beginning of the course before it gets easier but it does get easier when learning her way
Professor Rosario is a great instructor for anyone wanting to learn and understand Accounting concepts. The course is lecture heavy and there are plenty of work, however, it is the most important tool for Accounting in general. Moreover, professor Rosario will be there to assist you in this course, and share her professional experience.
She is definitely one of the toughest Professors I've had, but that is what I liked and appreciated about her. She cares about the success of her students and she emphasizes the importance of learning over memorizing. Her teaching style is different, yet very effective. Of all the accounting classes I've taken, I've learned the most in hers.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS THE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVER TAKE. sHE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WANT TO DROP OUT SHE IS VERY INCONSIDERATE ABOUT STUDENTS' TIMES. SHE THINKS SHE IS THE ONLY CLASS WE HAVE OR THE ONLY THING WE DO WELL NOW YOU HAVE TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES IS HER FAVORITE THING TO SAY. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HER COURSES
she has caused students to have many mental health issues She is very inconsiderate of a students mental health or how their doing outside of class she just wants everything her way if not its a zero. Everyone dropped her class within the first week. she will make you rethink your major that's how bad she is.
I have never felt more destroye3d mentally and physically because of her class. You will have sleepless days no time for yourself no time for anything really. she loves to pile work on her students all 7 days of the week. the final is a 5 page essay and she told us ONLY 4 days in advanced
Don't risk your GPA, Mental health, and life. She wants you to sacrifice everything for her class. she doesn't care about her students mental health or what goes on in their life outside of class. you could get shot, hospitalized, thrown on the streets, house catch on fire, etc. she still expects you to get the work done no excuses.
I haven taken this professor for 3 courses within my time as a college student. The reason why kept taking her was because of her structure and organization of her classes. However, she does give out a lot of homework but is a lenient grader if you follow the instructions. I definitely recommend taking this professor.
I will start by saying I don't regret it. Everything is precise to the T, weekly modules clearly conveyed to students (just read). You will get exposed to real world software like Intuit Quickbooks. Professor is very clear in her direction in navigating the class. But please show up to class as this is really important to your success.
Trust me when you see many people say that this professor is bad. Attendance is mandatory and literally you could get in a car crash or worse and she still wouldn't care and will give you a zero for the day. She also acts like her class is the only class we're taking, and assigns A LOT of homework and doesn't accept late work. Trust the reviews.
Very good professor just had to make sure I pay attention in class.
Lectures are clear and easy to understand
Professor Del Rosario's ACC 230 was difficult at times however, her form of teaching also was beneficial to me. Her class made me interested in accounting, I'm glad I'm now majoring in it. Expect quizzes almost every week, two midterm exams, group assignments and a homework assignment every week when taking this class.
The professor means well but makes taking this class so difficult. So much homework like its the only course you're taking. She does not except late work. Expects participation and if you're dazing off she will call you out and ask questions to see if you're paying attention.
if you take this course, be prepared to learn when you live the cores you might develop professional skills that might help you with your career no final, but you need to do a research paper and video presentation and make a course plan you will do it in class but overall, she is a good professor you might like her.
Lots of quizzes and will need to study a lot for this course
Being able to participate in teams made it so much easier to share knowledge with students and be able to learn from other people. The professor did a great job with the structure of the class since even though I did not receive a very high grade, I know that I definitely learned very important concepts that I can use in my future profession.
To make sure students study for a quiz or an exam and to always prepare yourself to learn the topics.
The professor is nice and if you ask any questions she answers your questions and she gives you feedback and she shows you examples. Also, be prepared to use critical thinking and also be prepared to work in teams. Also, she offers Incentive Badges (extra credit) by working in teams and by participating in class.
The Professor will answer your questions when needed. You have to do a lot of critical thinking and work in groups. Also attendance matters. If you understand the materials then the class will be easy but if you don't then you will struggle.
She is a tough grader but you will learn and understand the Accounting concepts. You just have to attend class, participate, and complete your tasks on time!
Definitely a hard class if you're not going to put any effort in. Only attending the in class lectures every week won't be enough to get through, you fs need to put time apart from anything to go through the lectures yourself because its not the same as what she goes over in class. If you do everything TO THE T in the course you should pass.
Lectures were sometimes difficult to understand, and homework and quizzes are based on the book.
This class will test your time management skills since all of her work is never accepted late. Reading the chapters is heavily recommended so be prepared to read for a long period of time. She provides a lot of extra credit, and curves the exam and quiz grade so there's good opportunity to pass with a good grade. Attendance is mandatory as well.
Honestly, i took her and she's pretty rude, I remember there was a day when a student did not have their laptop and she was upset and calling him out in front of the whole class. The student did not know English well and it seemed like he didn't understand but he was telling her he had forgotten it at home and she showed no consideration.
during the first week of the class, we had online classes and a student had asked a question about the syllabus/something on the syllabus. She got mad and she got rude to him and she rudely told him that he was wasting 5 minutes of her time and that he could just read the syllabus. the question could have taken a few seconds to a minute to answer
If you take this class you will be asked to do twice the work of any other accounting class with no grace period for late assignments, no room for errors, and no exceptions for any rules. It is currently the last week of the semester and most of my assignments (turned in months ago) are still ungraded. Do not take this class if possible.
Talks at you.Doesn't break it down or explain how to do accounting. If you don't have a natural inclination for it, she doesn't understand why you need it explained in steps. She rattles off & expects you to write notes while she's going thru it fast. Then when you ask a? she says well didn't you take notes? Cuts down students & mocks them in class.
MAKE FRIENDS, and team up. Your group will be your guide. TRUST ME. work together and you should be fine. DO ALL HOMEWORK ON TIME///DO WELL ON QUIZZES///DO NOT MISS HER CLASS VERY MANDATORY///Heavy HW, weekly quizzes, and like 2 exams and a research paper. As course goes on it gets easier. Kinda. STAY ON TOP OF IT!!
I've never seen this level of micro-managing in school or in the workplace. Instead of focusing on the accounting content, I spent more time writing about how to be a good student, with essay examples like "I will change my undisciplined ways..." Lectures are about time-management and the "calendar planner" instead of actual accounting.
This class is a nightmare. The professor is extremely strict, with harsh, unpredictable grading, and multiple split deadlines. Many assignments are irrelevant to accounting, feels more like busywork. Creates a tense atmosphere, not conducive to learning. Easily the WORST educational experience I've had. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS - YOU WILL REGRET IT
Avoid taking any classes with this professor at all costs. She assigns an unreasonable amount of homework/quizzes at the very last second. Overloads students with so much work to the point in which you don't actually end up learning anything. Zero tolerance for excused absences, doesn't matter how bad your situation is she will not care.
this professor doesn't think anyone has a personal life. Also, make sure you choose your groups wisely, your grades will depend on it.
Professor Del Rosario runs a challenging course, but with diligent studying and teamwork, you can succeed. The workload is hefty, but Unstuck AI's tools were a game-changer for me. Stay on top of assignments and don't miss class - it's mandatory.
Avoid this class! This professor assigns an excessive amount of work, lacks empathy for students, and is often rude. There is zero tolerance for late assignments, even with valid proof of an excuse. Her syllabus is 17 pages long, overly detailed, and confusing—missing even a small requirement can result in lost points. Save yourself the stress!
This was Govt. accounting online, asynchronous. The course itself is interesting, informative, and challenging. She comes with plenty of experience in the Government sector. If I'd do this again, I'd probably take her class face to face. Pro tip - read everything carefully & time manage accordingly. You'll be fine.
too many daily announcements, time consuming, unorganized, she can be rude when asked for clarification. makes you jump through hoops for directions to simply start or submit assignments. the convoluted nature of this course takes away from the actual learning. she doesn't allow for late work but will bother you for undone work. just give the zero!
Make sure to read through her syllabus thoroughly! She asks for a lot, and if you miss one assignment, it is an automatic 0, no late work or resubmissions. Stay on top of it and you should be fine. Complete all assignments, and you will be good for quizzes and exams.
