Really goes all out when she teaches. She helps you understand literature that would seem boring.Essays are hard and tough but its for the best.

My favorite teacher at BC. Tries to make the class fun, great sense of humor (maybe sometimes over some people's heads), passionate. She even made me like poetry. Very willing to help outside of class, too. Doing all the work is not enough to get an A-

She gave me a lot of feedback on my writing. She was very helpful and I found her really clear. If you had trouble with something she would keep helping you till you got it. Very patient and caring and alot of fun.

This is an excellent professor who really cares about what she is doing. I enjoyed the class, and I think I am a much better writer now. She gives a lot of insightful commentary on your essays, and even my other teachers noticed that my writing improved.

The fairy tale topic was interesting. You won't believe what the original fairy tales really were like! The Briar Rose novel was awesome. The teacher is very smart and helpful, and very energetic and bubbly. Good class and teacher to take.

She's a wonderful teacher. What I didn't like was being in small groups with bozos who had not bothered to do the readings and complained about the class becuase they weren't bothering to do the work. I expected to hate reading old poetry, but I didn't.

Probably one of the most brilliant english teachers ever. Maybe slightly too smart to teach, because she can go on forever, for she is an endless sourse of knowledge...truely incredible. I learned a lot from her, and she took time to help students.

She helped me improve my writing more than any other teacher I have ever had. She makes a lot of comments on your essays. She is blunt, but it is for our own good. She gave everybody a whole typed page of notes with their first essay!

I just finished summer school, and she had us write more essays in 5 weeks than my last Eng 1 teacher had us write in almost 5 months! But this time I passed the FEE! She taught me a lot about writing logically and not emotionally. Hard, but worth it.

She is the best English teacher I have EVER had. I learned so much about how to analyze literature in her class, and I really enjoyed it. I was actually sorry that summer school ended so soon.

I gave her a "5" on easy not because she is too easy, but because she is so helpful. She is also very clear, and a very entertaining and intelligent teacher. I highly recommend her.

She is an awsome teacher. I was never really intersted in fairy tells until I took Mrs. Domlers class her class theam is Fairy Tales. You will not regret taking her class. She teaches in a way different style. Don't let that Jet black hair and pale white skin scare you off she is great.

Ms. Dumler really enjoys the sound of her own voice and tends to be extremely redundant for her lectures. She makes some outrageous analogies that don't pertain to the subject matter she is teaching ie: "Alice in Wonderland and Holocaust children." She can be scatter brained at times, but does keep the best interest of her students at heart.

she is very funny and nice but the class itself just gets more difficult as you go along. She does try and work with you if you are having difficulty.

I was not expecting to enjoy this class, especially poetry, but she made it all very interesting. I had a good time and learned a lot about apprciating and understanding literature.

This is a demanding course, but Mrs. D. gives 100% to students and is very understanding and helpful. The research paper steps are really helping me get my paper organized & done on time. The sample midterm practices she gave were great. I did them all and got an A. I know I am going to be better prepared for my future classes because of her.

Great teacher who really cares about her students. The class is a lot of work, but English 1A is supposed to be. She realizes that not everybody finds this class interesting, so she tries to make it as fun as possible. She also lets students explore controversial subjects which can be quite fun! Higly recommended.

Best online class I've taken. She checks email constantly and gets back to you real fast. Very helpful & freindly. The web site is great. Gives lots of practices to help us prepare for the exams & she gave me a LOT of feedback on my essay and a chance to raise my grade. Online courses are hard, but if you have to take one in English, take hers.

Wonderful class. I totally don't understand the last commenter. She has NEVER moved anything earlier. She has moved things BACK if she thinks we need the extra time. Very helpful teacher. Gives great reviews and practices before exams. Explains things very well.

She is clearly passionate about English, writing, and teaching. She's very animated in her delivery of analysis of poetry, fiction, and other writings, and keeps it interesting. She is direct with students and what is expected of them. Not doing well in this class means you let yourself down; can't blame the instructor, she does her part!

Her online class was awesome! It is a lot of work but all English 1a classes are. She is always quick to respond to questions. Her expectations are very clear.

Great Professor! She's always there to help! Email her and she'll get back to you in no time. Read and do well on the pop quizzes. She gives the answers to the Multiple choice and the midterm are a few take home essays. Be disciplined about the work, and you'll get an A for sure. She's one of One of the most quirky and awesome teachers at BC.

I took her online for 1A, it's A LOT of work and you definitely have to keep on top of it. But she definitely teaches you how to improve your writing and to think critically. I think she contradicts herself sometimes, but she was very helpful and quick to respond if you had a question. I would take her again!

I learned more in one semester with her than from all the other English classes I ever had before put together. Gives lots of feedback on essays. Expects you to work hard but does what she can to help you. She really wants her students to leave her class prepared to write and think well and to suceed in college. Also very nice & understanding.

I love this professor. She is very sweet and very helpful. The class has a lot of reading and writing, but I learned a lot and I feel confident about future classes. And she is funny. My freinds recommended her, and I am glad that I took her. You can tell she likes teaching and cares about her students.

Very helpful instructor. I like her sense of humor, too. I was a little freaked at my first essay grade because I got all A's in high school, but she lets us revise for higher grades and gives really good feedback. Now that the term is over, I see I have really improved as a writer & am confident about transfering to the university.

Online classes are tough, but she is the most helpful online teacher I have had so far. Always responds to emails quickly and takes time to answer questions.

Professor D. is very helpful and seems to be easy going in her personality. Anytime I had a question or needed help, she answered. A lot of work & reading when taking it online, but worth it.

Awesome. After learning what the workload would be for the class, I was totally ready to drop. However, she did her damndest to make the material interesting and manageable. I even came out with an A. She puts forth a true effort to help you whenever you need it. Highly recommended.

Online- The workload for this class is more on the hefty side no matter what teacher you take. Professor Dumler answered her emails almost instantly, gave extensions on assignments when she felt the class needed them, and gave awesome feedback. I really became a better writer as a result of taking her class. Plus, I've just about mastered MLA too!

She is by far one of the most helpful teachers i have ever had. The whole course is based on the study of fairy tales, and you do learn a lot. Just make sure to turn in all assignments and to not fall behind, but if you do Mrs. Dumler is easy to talk to and is understanding.

Hard. class started w/ 40 ended with about 20. If you are a slacker dont takethis class. If you love to learn new things, have a caring teacher who does a super job at explaining and making sure you understand-take this class. dont fall behind. talk to her if you need help. she is a teacher that actually wants you to succeed.

On-line....Although the letter to prospective students on her webpage is stern, all she really expects is for you to do your part. Her webpage is very informative, she answers e-mails quickly, and is reasonable in her expectations.

Enjoyed her class because of the different reading material like the fairy tales and horror stories. She is enteraining and interesting. I learned a lot from her class, and she was awesome! Allowed me to make up essays, even the final!

Professor Dumler was wonderful!! Took her online class. She was extremely helpful and really wants her students to succeed. Don't get behind or you will DROWN!! Lots of reading (but textbooks were interesting), lots of writing (I mean LOTS). I learned so much, not just about grammer and punctuation, research, etc., but also about social issues.

This class is not an "easy A"; it is one you must work for. Professor Dumler is well taught in her field, and she expects you to work hard. However, she is also extremely helpful and will clarify any confusing situations you may arrive upon. I recommend this class to anyone who wishes to excel in writing and critical thinking.

Material isn't incredibly interesting. Seems more like English Anatomy than anything. Prof's teaching routine is also deathly boring at times. As for the prof herself, she is a fun, bubbly person w/a lot of passion for her subject. Boring material but enchanting professor.

A wonderful teacher. I had her for two classes and I really enjoyed both. I suppose it helps that I love literature, but even still, she makes the classroom enjoyable. The homework isn't hard if you actually make the effort. The complaints on here about her were unreasonable; sour grapes, I suppose. I would address them had I the space.

I took Prof. Dumler's online B1A course. It was pretty easy. I'm not a person who really enjoys English and reading. The books she picks for her reports were really interesting and great books. She herself is a very great and helpful professor. Definitely recommended.

Just completed her 1A class online. Any class in Engl Comp will be rigorous no matter what, but it is probably more difficult online because you're on your own. Prof Dumler is more than willing to help along the way and will respond to emails quickly. I suggest going on her site first to read the syllabus. I got an A, but worked VERY hard for it.

She's always willing to help students and provide helpful sources. However, I didn't really like her class. It was somewhat difficult and even though I always tried hard, she was strict.

Took this class online. Great teacher. Responds to emails fast. I managed to get a B in the class while taking 5 other classes. A lot of work but it's super easy. 2 essays 1 research paper, easy on grading. All other assignments, besides quizzes,she grades based on if you did them or not, doesn't matter if you did the assignment wrong.

Good instructor for English B1A. While the class was not easy, it was neither too difficult. Will work with you if you're struggling.

Professor Dumler is an amazing instructor! I've never taken an online class before, this was my first. I won't lie, it was A LOT of work. She also warns you of this in your class outline, so she doesn't just dump stuff on you unexpectedly. Assignments are posted a month ahead, so if you have time to do work early, DO IT! It'll save you.

she is really easy as long as you do her homework assignments & go to class. Her homework is so easy! Like she will give u credit even it you are wrong. There was one essay which was really easy. And she gives simple quizzes about the homework. I have never had an English class this easy she is so helpful! Gives good feedback and teaches like A+

The class outline she has online is AMAZINGLY helpful. She updates it frequently and it has everything you will be doing all semester on there (No Surprises!). Do your readings and answer the questions for credit/no credit points. Basically there is no wrong answers. It's an easy class and it really does make you appreciate literature.

If you need credits in an English class I highly recommend 1 B with Dumler. But be warned she is hard to get used to because she laughs and runs on talking but shes very passionate You do have to read poems every week. homework is simple either credit or no credit. only one term paper and her tests are just off of vocabulary. Easy class to pass.

Often times, Dumler was pretty funny. Her syllabus is straightforward, and the class outline online is extremely useful. There is homework everyday, but they aren't difficult. Tests are on vocabulary, and we even watched a few plays at the end of the semester. Lastly, there's just one paper that can be revised later. Do the work, don't get lazy!

Great Professor. Really liked the class. The B1B class was very different from the B1A class that focuses on research paper. The B1B class had us read poetry, short stories, and finally watch 4 plays at the end of the semester. Her 3 big tests are multiple choice and she provides a practice exam. She drops the lowest of the 3. Was a wonderful class

Dumler is an amazing professor! She is approachable and understanding of all people. Dont let the first few weeks of a lot of assignments scare you off. Do the work and as the semester progresses it will get much easier! Buy the book and get to know her. The test are 45 vocab words and she gives you a study guide. Youre the best, Dumler.

I recieved a C in the class, due to my own volition. With that said, Professor Dumler was incredibly understanding with me. She gave me extensions on my papers and waived late points. I honestly have so much respect and admiration for her. Shes an awesome teacher, but a tough grader. TIP: Talk to her and try and create a bond!! Makes the class fun

Really nice! I enjoyed her class but I also enjoy English. She gives 2 1000 word papers and one 2000 word paper, I hate essays but she isn't a very hard grader. She lets you fix paper for a higher grade after she gives correction.

multiple times i had to ask for extensions on my assignments because of personal reasons and she always granted me permission to turn them in later. really nice but there is a lot of homework. she lets you turn in late work and has make up days for exams. i took the class online and was able to manage.

Took her online and the experience was pretty good. There was just a couple reading assignments a week as well as I believe monthly vocabulary tests but it was all relatively easy. Just a bit time consuming regarding the reading assignments.

Professor Dumler's class was a dream. She helped me gain confidence in my writing while teaching me proper MLA formatting. Her class requires a book that tells you everything you need to know. You write a few papers and cover interesting topics. 10/10 I would recommend and take a class with her again

Professor Dumler is truly a wonderful instructor. She picked readings and essay topics relevant to matters existing in our current world and was great to engage with. Be prepared to participate (even just online) because keeping up is whats going to be your best friend. A tough grader, but she also gives you feedback and time to bring up grades.

She is very easy to talk to and easy to get ahold of and responds fast. She is very understanding of outside issues. You do a lot of reading and write bigger papers but does let you revise them. Such a caring professor who only wants the best for her students. She does assign a lot of reading and homework, but they aren't difficult at all. She is super sweet and funny. I highly recommend doing a face to face class with her! She goes over the previous homework in class as a whole for discussions. There's a lot of homework, but as long as you complete them, you'll be fine. She is understanding and is always willing to help.

Professor Dumler was an amazing teacher! She gave good feedback and is an easy grader as long as you get the work done. This class is an easy A, and all the work is due on Friday, so I would always get it all done the Sunday before. There are only 3 essays, and they are really easy. Overall it is a good class.

She assigns a lot of work, including three essays that impact your grade, but allows you to redo them for a better score. She's caring, lenient with due dates, and her response time is quick, and she provides valuable feedback. If you want an easy class, this isn't the one, but if you're willing to put in the effort, she's there to guide you!

I took her online and she was amazing! Bit of reading, but simple. She is always available if you need help on your essays. She grades very clearly and gives you feedback on what to correct on writing assignments. She provides audios for some of the short stories if you prefer that. Do not procrastinate on the assignments and you should be good.

Amazing professor and provides you with the resources you need.There are three essays with a 1000 word requirement. If you are not someone who enjoys reading, this class will probably feel exhausting for you. I wouldn't recommend if you are frequently busy. Otherwise you will be fine.

She is very nice and understanding with students, total of 3 essays throughout the semester with minimum of 1,000 words each, they're fairly easy if you read what she gives us, gives hw but it's fairly easy, I believe there is like 3 exams she gives which are also very easy, overall such a funny and good professor.
