The course can get to be a bit challenging, but she is willing to help. You do need to read the textbook. An 8 page research paper is required but gives plenty of time to complete.

I took both ENGL 1301 and 1302 with her. Presentations, essays, not a lot of reading... she's very clear and helpful. I would recommend this teacher (:

I highly recommend taking this class. Although she is not the easiest of professors, she is there to teach her students and expects you to grow and learn. She is always available to help those who ask. She assigns some reading, but nothing difficult. There is a 8 page paper assigned,but there is an abundance of time to complete it.

Shes awesome! She is very clear and gets straight to the point. In 1301 you have 5 essays throughout the semester and they are relatively easy. She explains the essays in great detail like 5 times before. Anyone that says she is "bad professor" probably never showed up to class or gives bad attitude. I had her for my first semester. At first I was scared because I failed my first assignment but all you need to do is pass the essays and do as she says and you're good. She may be scary but she does help. Very easy A. Study!

Took her for 1302 she is a tough grader and also can be disrespectful towards student. you know how they say there is never a dumb question. Well to her there is and she will embarrasses you in front of the class. Kept quite all semester, did my essays and passed. If you want a challenge take her course.

This is on grammar and gets you ready for 1302. She helped me a lot, now I can write essays great. she is blunt, funny, and participation matters. You must work for your grade. Take if you are ready to really learn and can take the truth to better benefit your writing skills. Must work for the A. Don't slack.

She expects a lot from her students because she knows they are smart. English is easy all you have to do is put the work in. She gets you ready for the real world, that is why she is strict. She is there to help. A lot of research papers and group work. Again, getting you ready for next college classes. Ready for a challenge and to really learn?

She is strict and expects a lot from her students. You're going to be challenged and the class is intimidating but you will learn and you will become a better writer. You'll write 5 essays, buy the books they help. Although shes blunt she is also very fair, do your work, participate, be on time and you'll have no problem,highly recommend her class

She don't let too many fly by, but as a whole is a solid professor. She has a heavy hand on grading, so make sure you pay extra-careful attention to the essay guides and stick to them. A bit of sarcasm that don't kill anyone. Pretty funny most of the time. Would take her again

Everyone talks on Professor Estrada but this is the real world you have to work for what you want. This professor is a real gem i wouldn't take any other instructor for the fact that her lectures are easy to understand ,this class taught me how to actually do essays on APA and MLA format without having to look back on my notes. Definitely recommend

Her class is not easy, but not extremely hard. Some who want an easy A complain. I took her for 1301 & 1302. I have a Science major & this prof has helped plenty with future classes. In my opinion, a lot of science is how to properly conduct a research paper and everything in both these classes. Her critics are very helpful.

I took English 1301 and 1302 with her and it was my favorite class to go to. In 1301 I did not turn in an essay and missed a presentation, my overall grade was a B. In 1302 I got an A. Avoid using your phone in class and turn in things on time. As long as you pay attention and do as she asks youll do fine.

She is amazing. Dont be fooled by the comments. While she is strict its something that isnt manageable. She allows you to use notes and handouts in her tests. Any quiz was told ahead of time. Helped with clarity of essays if needed. Prepares you for a four year college. This is college. Instructors dont need to coddle you.

Gloria Estrada is an amazing professor. She is fair, and expects homework due at the beginning of class, with very little exceptions. Reading is a must in order to understand her homework and the essays that will be due. She is a great listener and is willing to sit down with you one on one to help you better understand what is required of you.

Great Professor

The course was graded on a simple 4 point scale that is wholistic. The grades received greatly reflects the effort put in. Spend the time to write your papers early and have them reviewed in the writing lab or you may never get an A. The lectures help to outline key points in the writings and help to round out your vocabulary and mechanics.

Very sarcastic and dry. All you have to do is turn in your work in on time and you'll get decent grades. Don't attempt to turn in work late; will not be accepted. Her class was very easy and manageable. Able to use notes on tests and quizzes so always keep them handy :)

Awesome instructor. She will take the time out of her schedule to get online with you and help you with the material you don't understand. She is a caring instructor and will give you plenty of time to complete the work. You do need a book and expect to read but she makes it interesting.

Fall 2020, She is a great teacher, but in this class, you are going to do like 30 homework, you will have like 4 test, 5 essays, and 20 homework. If you do your best, your grade will be good. Also, she gives you like 3 opportunities for extra points. And the essays are the most important in this class, she will grade everything.

Ms. Estrada is an excellent professor. You do not need a textbook, she will upload all the readings on blackboard. If you start working on the assignments on time and have questions, she takes the time to help you.

She is a good professor pretty straight forward with lessons. Assigns homework every week but its not a lot if you dont wait last minute. Also if you want respect be respectful to her. Pretty understanding.

I dont know why there is so many bad reviews? I took her for the winter semester and the class was a breeze. She always provides feedback. She is also very helpful with lectures and is open to any questions regarding assignments.

I took her class my first semester in college, and i have to admit she is one of the best professors ive had till this day! If you really want to pass her class expect to be ready to learn. NOT FOR THE LIGHTHEARTED. 10/10

A teacher very attentive to the students and very direct. A little hard when giving grades but nothing to write home about, if you do what she asks, you will pass her class without any problem.

Ms. Estrada is a wonderful teacher. She gives feedbacks and actually reviews you essay's. She is an easygoing teacher. It is up to you to pass the class. Showing up is necessary or she will threaten to drop you, but why would you skip classes you intended to take online? She'll work with you if you put in the effort.

She is really nice and will help you if you need it. She is very clear with her assignments, gives 2nd attempts, and will help with assignments during class. However, she does not accept late work, and essays are important. But she allows essay rewrites to get a better grade. Respect her, and you will be respected. Good learning experience.

Professor Estrada cares for her student's success. She goes above and beyond with the resources she provides to her students. She explains in detail the stories that were assigned in class and gives background information to be able to analyze stories better.

I had a great experience taking Ms. Estrada's class during the summer. Her grading criteria was clear and she allowed you to rewrite every essay but the final for a better grade. The work was easy and you had the opportunity to complete it during class. Nice sense of humor and overall approachable person.

Overall a great teacher, she thoroughly understands the material and teaches well. Assignments are graded with a clear rubric to follow and allows for rewrites. She has a good sense of humor and makes the class enjoyable. She goes over assignments beforehand to ensure clarity and allows time in class to complete.
