A good teacher who enjoys here work and works well with her students. She is very knowledgeable and overly fair to even those who don't deserve it. She does not baby you babies out there. Do the work or drop her class. This ain't high school.

This teacher is excellent. She's very clear, she uses outside examples, and she is always readily available to answer questions or clarify concepts. She doesn't baby you but she makes it clear that she is there to help.

Prof. Guevara is awsome, i strongly encourage you to take her class, she will help you the best she can, she easy going and makes doesnt make he research paper scary and hard helps you through the steps. who ever says shes not cool they have issues.

Best Instructor I have ever taken. Willing to Help you and give you all the time you need (find me another professor you can say that about). If you are in school to do well and put the effort, take her. If you want to be confrontational, get out now1

She is friendly and helpful. She presents her opinion but also asks you to challenge her and provide your own. She is fair and although the class itself isn't the most interesting, she does her best to get you through it

She is a great teacher, she goes the extra mile to help students learn the material. If you learn well in her clas, all the other papers will be easy.

I took Professor Guevara for POLS 372 Political Science Research Methods and POLS 332 Politics of Latin Americna. In both classes, Guevara was a wonderful professor who helped all of her students strive to be the best they could be in her classes.

She comes off as a hard a$$, but she's really not. Guevarra, is totally cool and she's always willing to help students out and give them personal attention if needed. Also, she's not all too tight to attendance!!!

She comes off like she is tough but at the end she is really helpful I got a good grade and attendance is cool! just do your work and you will pass!

This teacher is great! She is really interesting to talk to and her tests are absed on her lectures which are really good. As long as you don't slack off you can get a high grade. She is also really nice and really smart!

She is very helpful and understanding to each students needs. She knows what shes talking about and gives you alot of freedom to research. Tons of free time which helps if you have a hard time studying/researching at home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Who doesn't love Guevara? She is a great professor. She is extremely smart and goes out of her way to help all students. She gives plenty of time to write papers and is really understanding.

She is a very good professor who helps you a lot. She is usally late but she helps a lot if you let her. Do the assigments and read and you will get an A. sometimes she tells you you are going to have a midterm but then she decides not to and gives you an easy paper. Truly recommend her!!! I got A is all of her classes.

I loved her. She is very helpful and caring - thanks to her my grade went from a C to an A and I actually learned a lot. She has some lateness issues, but so do I, and I don't think its fair to be so critical. You get from her class what you put into it. She gives you a lot of freedom and leeway on turn in dates - so use it wisely!

She's really caring, provides plenty of time to do the research. If you are ever unclear on a topic or how to do something, she helps you out. She doesn't spoon feed you the ideas or rewrite your thesis for you, but if you're in your third year of college, what teacher should be expected to? I love her and she's a really interesting teacher.

She's really understanding and helpful. It realy was a hard class, and a lot of rules to follow in writing the papers, but if you go to her for help she is very clear. Just go to her office and you'll be fine. And I don't know why a lot of people said she was always late b/c she was always on time for my class. Anyways, great prof!

This professor is great. She really cares about the development of the students and helps them get the best grade possible. Of course, you have to actually show up to class and do the work, but she will help you in any way she can. Take her!

Professor Guevara is awesome! her class is pretty difficult, but i keep taking her for some odd reason. She is that "one" professor that you will never forget throughout your life. She cares about her students and clearly wants them to pass. She is always willing to help you with any questions you have. She really cares.

She is seriously an amazing teacher! All we did this semester was do an annotated bib, litt review and a final paper. Seem simple but it's a long process. As long as you show up to class you will pass. She is very helpful and wants you to pass her class. Deff recomment this class but not if your lazy or don't like writting papers!

She is great! Straightforward and extremely organized--which makes things easier. 1 map quiz, 1 paper, and final paper. If you give her exactly what she wants, then you will be set. Overall, she is cool and I learned a lot.

A but disorganized, but it's endemic to upper division Political Science professors. Ask for help and you shall receive, otherwise it's independent study. Lot of base on powerpoint/films/documentaries. Highly recommend having a proficiency in writing.

This class requires you to read, whether you skim all the chapters before the tests or take full, detailed notes, is up to you. 2 midterms -one part multiple choice online and 2 essays (the final replaced the second midterm). If you can understand the concepts, which happens if you go to class, you can write an essay. Easy grader.

Go to class and do the assignments. They are long and require time, so don't procrastinate. She helps as much as she can and she gives a lot of feedback, just make sure to go and be willing to dig deep for the research necessary. Textbook was used only for one test (multiple choice and online), try to buddy up with someone rather than buying it.

All you have to do is an Annotated Bibliography, A literature review, a revised literature review with a case study, and an exam on moodle with the textbook. She extends deadlines for assignments in exchange for half a letter grade per day and knocks off half a letter grade per day missed, so as long as you show up and do the work, You'll be fine.

Lectures are helpful if this is your major you'll love this class. She's very honest and give her opinion if you go to lecture and do good on her papers you'll be fine

Easiest 471 class at CSUN by far, the whole class consists of 3 papers which are 5 pages long and 1 in class powerpoint. You do have to read for the most part but comparing this to the other 471 classes she is the easiest.

Dr. Guevara is one of the best professors in this department. Yes class is not easy but you'll definitely learn so much. Class was a hybrid class consisting of 3 multiple choice exams and 3 essay exams. I got a B in her class. Take her.

Dr. Guevara is an excellent professor for POLS 197. Yes her class is not easy because there are 3 multiple choice exams and 3 essay exams. I definitely learned a lot. I got an A- in her class. She is amazing at lecturing can keep you really interested. Take her for this class.

The only class work is work with a group and disused the reading. However the grades are based on 2 multiple choice exams and 3 essay exams. The 2 multiple choice and 3 essay paper is due online. She only curves your final grades when you come to class often. So just in case your in the border line of passing and you want pass come to class.

I have taken her three times and got an A twice and B once. She is not that hard to please, she is really clear about what she wants. Don't skip class. Read.

Professor Guevara is a good professor. She's nice, but some may think she's mean but she really isn't. She's a mixture of funny, nice, and mean. Her class depends on 3 tests, midterm 1/2, and the final. You definitely have to read for the tests because they are long but they are ONLINE which is great. I'd take her again if I could.

Took her in my first semester and I must say she was definitely cool! She is super straight foward and generally has some interesting lectures/discussions. Just beware, she doesnt like getting interrupted!

Prof. Guevara's class is a mixed bag. If you raise your hand while she's speaking she gets visibly annoyed, which can be off-putting. Be prepared to read A LOT if you take her. If you take a few minutes get to know her, she's very amiable. Class discussions were lively and engaging, and probably the best part about having her as a professor.

Dr. Guevara made my first semester at CSUN enjoyable. I believe most of my classmates (and the ones leaving reviews) tend to forget that this is a four year university. If you intend to coast through and not participate, read, research and write: Please do not take this course with this professor. You will be doing yourself a disservice.

Might be exaggerating but this was one of the hardest classes I've ever had to take. She is very clear on what she wants and you cannot slack off if you want to pass. The lockdown began halfway thru my sem with her so she didn't require us to do half of the original assignments (thank god) but was still really hard. I passed but had to really work

SHE HARD! Her lectures are great and gives everything out but when test shows up then save your souls bc my class almost fail together! Team up with someone cause you wont survive in that class during the exam on your own. You definitely need the book to help you out! The final is only an essay while the rest is multiple choice and essay

Professor Guevara's POLS197 class was taken online during COVID-19. She had optional meeting times to go lecture over reading material, so those were extremely helpful. She highly encourages open discussion in the middle of lectures, so its a great class if you like to talk. Her tests were extremely difficult, (class average was around 70%65%)

This class was a difficult class and I do not recommend taking it while you are taking other hard courses as well, because this class will need your attention. It is a lot of reading and you watch a lot of films. But you learn so much. The articles and films the professor provides are really educational and you learn a lot. I learned a lot.

Proffesor Guevara is a great teacher that really cares about her students. If you come to class and do the work you will pass her class.

If you love poli sci, this is the professor for you. Every test is taken online, and the professor is super passionate and knowledgeable. She highly encourages participation, and voicing your opinions in class discussions which makes the class entertaining. A lot of reading, video watching, and note-taking needed to succeed on tests
