Looks like Martha Stewart. Seems to teach at a very relaxing pace earlier on, at least until the first test. Her "high-wire act" tests were difficult at first, you miss one problem she takes a lot of points away. However, I adjusted, and she's q
She does look like Martha Stewart. She wasn't always clear in her explanations but she was approachable and easy to talk to.
I am looking forward to taking another class with this teacher, as she has clear explanations and knows how to teach Math better than most of the other teachers I have had.
She taught the class in a very easy to follow way, and didnt make us learn anything she felt was unnecessary. However, our overall grade is based only on exams, so there is no room for error. Also, she is not the friendlist person- she will never learn your name no matter how often you see her!
If you have math anxiety, she's a good teacher to take. She is friendly, I think - she's just a bit shy. Loves her subject and wants students to succeed. Do the homework and you'll do fine.
There is nothing bad that anyone can say about her. She is the best math teacher that I have ever had. I wish I could take all of my math classes from her. Take her if you have math anxiety - she'll get rid of it.

The whole time i was in her class i was thinking that she looked like Martha Stewart! Only cuter and younger. She was a good teacher, but she wasn't very personal or engaging. She stood right in front of me but it was like she was miles away. This didn't affect her teaching, it was just a little strange. Overall she got the job done, and I'd take another class from her.
He helps you to understand math and goes at a good pace, take her if you are worried about failing, she'll help you.
She didn't care if you understood what she was trying to teach - she would move on to the next assignment whether you understood it or not.
I took Gloria again because I knew she would be easier and I would succeed in her class... and I got an 'A'. her tests are straightforward, although she doesnt have a lot of patience if you dont understand the material. She doesnt complicate things, or try to trick you.
if you take this class, take it from gloria! you will get an A because she is very strait forward with what you need to know for tests. she has some h/w assignments and extra credit. but just to warn you she can be a little cranky and rude. she sometimes will yell or act really annoyed if you dont' understand something.
Awesome teacher. goes above and beyond to help students understand the material and succeed!
Great teacher. Very helpful and strait forward. Never once yelled in my class. I would definately reccomend students to take this teacher.
Gloria is very easy to understand she will explain something if you just ask. She does expect class feedback as to if you understand or not. I thought I was earning a C in the class and I got a B. I never studied and I had two Ds on tests. Many weeks I only went four days a week and I rarely showed up for the Q and A. Take her for math!
She's wonderful!
She's a little rude at times, and a little impatient. She'll give you a dirty look even if you come into class at the exact time. She moves alittle fast and covers a lot in a week (tests are every week), so tests can be a challenge at times. Doesn't really care if you are struggling. She's pretty nice for the most part and an easy teacher if you ar
This lady is wonderful. She gets the class involved, does not play favorites, offers everyone time out of class. Is so caring and nice. I've NEVER see her rude or cutting, but always helpful and caring. She wants to make sure you understand. I will take her as long as I can for math. She is great!
She was really helpful and I enjoyed the class a lot
She is a really good teacher. I have had her as a teacher two quarters. She is very helpful. And I would definitely tell you to take her as a teacher. I didn't really like math before but now I do!
So helpful and always willing to go over a problem to make sure everyone knew it. Speak up in her class, she will help you out.
She's great. She makes things very clear and I loved her class. I needed to brush up on the basics for nursing and opted to take her class, I'm so very glad I did. She is wonderful. I'm glad I took her class. Great teacher and her tests are so easy! You have to try hard to get a bad grade in her class!
I LOVED this teacher. Normally math class stresses me out, but she is so willing to take time to explain things and work with you outside of class, it makes everything much more comfortable. She really knows her stuff, and knows how to explain it so you understand. I think I've never enjoyed a math class as much as I enjoyed hers.
Gloria is a great proffesor. She teaches well and takes the time to make sure everyone understands. Do the HW and study before a test and you should do good. No tricks on the tests. Basic problems yo do in HW. A total of 7 tests and one final.
BEST TEACHER! She really wants you to do well. Explains everything well, gives practice tests. She wants u to succeed. A total of 6 tests and one final. No tricks. Basic problems u do in the hw. :D love this teacher
Gloria is the best! She is actually making amth fun for me!! And I feel like I actually understand algebra :-)
She is hands down the best math teacher I have EVER had. Anyone who commented that they fell behind and that she stuck to a tight schedule could have easily gotten help from her in her office. Thats what she is there for and she is happy to help. Her exams are clear and easy if you keep up. Wish she taught CALCULUS AAAAHHHH!
She is a great teacher, and very fair.
GREAT teacher. Explained things extraordinarily well, and if you didn't like her way of doing a problem, she would help you figure out a way to do it that made more sense to you. I'd recommend being in class as much as possible, as the textbook is a little difficult to understand.
Worst teacher ever. She would spend a whole week explaining elementary level mathematics that should only take 10 minutes. The only reason to show up to class was to figure out the things she would teach wrong and expect you to answer wrong on her tests. She also took points off of questions you had right. To top it off, she was also very rude.
She's helpful and really helpful on understanding the math concepts.
GREATEST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. I WAS NEVER GOOD AT MATH..AND NOW IM DOING SO GOOD, IVE GOTTEN A'S ON ALL HER TESTS. SHE MAKES MATH SOO EASY, GIVES WORKSHEETS TO PRACTICE ON, AND HANDS OUT PRACTICE TESTS WITH ANSWERS A DAY BEFORE A TEST IN ORDER TO HELP YOU PRACTICE. ALSO, SHE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT ONCE IN A WHILE... I LOVE THIS TEACHER :)
She is an excellent math teacher...takes a great interest in how well her students are understanding the material and finds ways to help students learn. She is very fair in grading and doesn't surprise you on tests. She is the best 'test prep' teacher I have had.
She has been the best math teacher I have had so far. She really cares about her students learning the material and is very fair. I enjoyed her class because you could tell she really enjoyed teaching it.
Good teacher, gives extra credit assignments, lets you redo one page on each test to up your grade. Homework isn't mandatory, but be sure to have questions on it if you want participation credit. Overall a pretty good teacher. Forces you to participate, which can be irritating when she asks simple questions like what is 6+2.
Simply an amazing teacher. Math has never been soo clear. Gloria should teach other math teachers how to make math simple and easy to understand.
Gloria is a really good Math instructor. She gives lots of one on one teaching as long as you willing to go over her office.
She is the best teacher I have ever had!!! If you want a teacher that truely cares about her students sucess...take gloria!!!
Great teacher! She explained everything really well and teaches shortcuts in math. She's also REALLY easy on grading. Write out the equation as best you can and she'll give you partial credit.
The best math teacher anyone could ask for. I also must say that she's REALLY easy on grading.
FANTASTIC teacher!!! Especially if you're taking an under 100 class she's the one you want!
Really good teacher! She grades pretty easy. Tests are around 15 questions, so you have to know your stuff,
She is a really good teacher!!! She is kind and friendly!!! I learn a lot from her class!! She give us the extra credits and we have a review day when is one day before text day. Her class always full!! She is really good!!!
The best math teacher I've ever had! She teaches the lessons in a simple and easy way so you can remember them. Tests are easy if you come prepared and complete daily homework assignments.
Wonderful teacher!! If you didn't understand something she would explain it other ways till everyone caught on. No homework, but would recommend doing the odd problems so you are up to speed in class. Tests weren't that difficult if you pay attention in class. Wish she taught more math classes (or more teachers taught like her)
Gloria is a GREAT instructor! She always willing to explain or clarify if you do not understand. The tests are fairly easy if you do the homework and review. Best math teacher at EVCC!
Good teacher if she likes you and had her before. If she doesn't know you she ignores you unless you ask a question and then half asses an answer. Her favorite students can talk in class and she ignores them and yells at others like the are children. Can be degrading to some students that are having a hard time.
Her math 107 class is a complete joke. The material is common knowledge, and her understanding of the material, or math in general, is slim to none. The only day you want to show up to is the review day so you can discover whatever she wants you to write on her idiotic tests, and test day of coarse. If you want to pass math for an AA,take this class.
This instructor does not care if you are struggling. Her impatience shows, she has a cold demeanor (if she doesn't know you from a previous class). She'll ignore your emails and pretend not to hear you when you speak to her in class. She's only nice to you if you're GOOD at math if not, she'll either be dismissive towards you or ignore you .
She is an awesome professor. I wish she taught higher levels of math. She made math seem crystal clear, and she is wonderful in so many ways. If you're starting out with Math099, do not hesitate. Take her class: it's SO worth it.
I have never taken a math class at EvCC before, so I was lucky to get McPherson! She is super clear with her explanations and always makes herself available to meet up and talk about something you're confused on. She also gives out multiple options for extra credit, they are random and usually about one point each, but very awesome to have.
She was great! I have a difficult time understanding math, but she taught it in a way I really understood. I love all the extra credit! And she gave us practice tests before every exam. I would definitely recommend her!
She doesn't explain things very well. Would defiantly not take this class if you have a hard time taking math tests as do I. The quarters are very short so she only has 5 tests if you fail 2 like i did you're screwed.
so far the best math teacher i ever had!! before taking this class i was always told that math 142 is a hard class, but this teacher made it so easy that i would take everyones opinion about this class wrong. so bad she is not teaching calculus otherwise would have definitely took with her.!!
She is really easy
She is a good teacher. Tests are easy.
I am not a huge fan of Math but Gloria makes it better! She explains things very clear and says exactly what she expects for exams. Her teaching style was good for me and am hoping to take other math courses with her in the future!
Gloria is an amazing teacher. She involves the class, uses tons of examples, and makes sure everyone understands. Tests are tough but if you pay attention and show up, you'll do well. If you don't understand, she is very approachable and loves to answer questions. Her passion for math is unmatched by any other professor I have had.
Not only did I pass this class with a high B (which I have never done in any math class), but I actually understood everything! Gloria is such an amazing teacher, and really helps you through difficult problems. She even lets you use notes on the final. I wish she taught more classes. :)
I am not great at math but just by showing up and doing the homework I was able to get A's on every exam. She gives extra credit too. I got over 100 in her class and I loved her class. Would definitely take her again and wish she taught more classes. EVCC needs more teachers like her.
does a wonderful job explaining and easy exams.
best professor at everett
Her exams are easy and no surprises. Does a great job preparing you for calculus. Explains everything in detail and doesn't skip steps.
Took accelerated 91/92. She's very clear and I like her way of explanation. She's helpful, but can come off as a bit of a snob, so if you're a shy kid, don't take her. She genuinely enjoys math and has you work out problems after she explains it to make sure you understand. Best math teacher I've had.
Wonderful teacher, if sees your hard work only encourages you and helps you move forward. Very clear on lectures and tests as far as what chapters would be included . Homework definitely helps understanding the lecture. Would love to take her again.
She really cares about students and wants you to pass. Makes sure everyone understands the material and takes time to go over problems if you need help. Would take this class over again if I had too.
IF YOU ARE BAD AT MATH, TAKE GLORIA! She is the most amazing math teacher EVER. She makes it simple and will walk you step by step through it. I took her accelerated Math 91/92 split and did really well. She also as test prep days. I recommend going. Attend class regularly, do your homework and assignments, study, and I'm sure you'll do fine.
Her syllabus has an entire homework assignment schedule of the whole quarter. I wouldn't recommend skipping class, but if you do, you know the homework. She doesn't grade homework or pop quizzes either, just tests. Overall, a nice teacher and a fair grader.
If you find math challenging like I do then I highly recommend Gloria. She really cares about her students and stayed with me many an afternoon helping me understand concepts. She is so talented that she makes math seem easy. No credit for homework just tests. Extra credit offered. Doesn't assign a lot of busy work.
Gloria is most wonderful teacher for math class. I took 91 and 92 as accelerated class and passed with flying colors. I would take her again and again.
Without a doubt, the best math teacher I've ever had. Extremely helpful, willing to sit down and sort out anything you don't understand 1 on 1 by explaining how to do the problem in more than one way until you get it. Unbelievably awesome. No surprises, tests can be hard but if you study well they are easy to pass.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Actually no, the best. Very helpful and understanding, easy tests.
I have never had a math teacher I clicked with more than Gloria. Even when I left her class she connected with me and told me if I wanted to reach out to her, I could. She is a great teacher with many neat tips and tricks. Guys.. A number is divisible by 3 if the two numbers add up to a number that is divisible by 3!!!
Gloria is an amazing teacher. I wish other teachers could be half of what she is. Gloria is willing to take time outside of class to really help someone one on one. No teacher I have had before her can explain and go through math concepts as well as she does.
Gloria has a unique ability to teach to every student's style. She answers every inquiry (yes, even the terribly obvious questions) and re-explains if she senses any single person isn't tracking with her. I got As in both sections of the accelerated course and that's after 15 years of not doing mathematics!
Math is not my best subject, but Gloria made it easier to understand. The only thing she grades are exams and will thoroughly go through every section before she moves on to the next section. She often gives out extra credit as well. If you have trouble understanding math like me, I highly suggest enrolling into her class!
By far the best math teacher I've ever had. I took her twice and both times were amazing! She explains everything so well that I hardly needed the text book. She also doesn't give out trick questions and tests you on what you need to know. She's very sweet and caring! I really enjoyed her teaching style. Very straight forward.
Very personable. Allows students to dictate examples, reviews, and pace of discussions. Best teacher possible if you dislike math. Grades only based on tests. I never got the book and as of now have an A.
Gloria really cares for her students! My first day she told me I would get an "A" on my test and she was right! She really believes in her students. She is patient and funny and can really roast people if they are talking when she is lecturing.
I took Math 107 with Prof. McPherson. I liked her laid-back teaching style. She is very patient and happy to answer any questions. She literally only grades exams. Attendance and homework is not graded. If you struggle with math, I recommend taking one of her classes.
There are some pretty great professors at Everett but Gloria is by far the best. She is very easy to understand, explains things well and cares that you are learning. If you don't understand something she is more than happy to help during office hours. No notes on tests. Ask questions at the beginning of class or else there is a pop quiz.
Super nice lady. I liked Gloria a lot. The class itself is pretty easy and that is coming from a non-math person. Only graded on 5 tests and thats it, no homework is graded. Easy going and will help you as much as she can.
It was an easy class. Her tests were easy and no tricky question. The textbook is used only for homework and you don't need to bring it to your class. She won't grade your homework and doesn't use the online code. There are 5 test and 1 final exam but if after 5 test and you got a C or higher, you can choose to drop the final.
This teacher is Amazing, I wish I can take her for Calculus II but unfortunately she doesn't teach it, she makes class so enjoyable and easy to learn. I took her Trigonometry class in the summer early in the morning and even then I was eager to show up everyday, she assigns homework from the book that's not graded but if you do it you'll get A.
Gloria is a very nice woman, who genuinely loves Math and her students. The only caveat with taking her class is that your whole grade is determined based of just 5 tests, which are not hard in actually, but she is a very picky grader as she once took 3 points off one of my tests just because i forgot to put brackets around one of my solutions.
She's the worst teacher I've ever had, I've always loved math but she made me hate it. The most useless teacher( if you could even call her that) that you'll ever meet.
McPherson is a very kind teacher, she's willing to help you understand the concept after class if you're still confused and her lectures are coherent.
Gloria is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She explains the concepts thoroughly. She has quite a bit of extra credit, and if your grade is good enough she'll let you drop the final. For our last exam she brought us doughnuts because nobody flunked.
Gloria is the best math teacher I've ever had. Lectures had tons of examples, and the hw is optional but you should do it because it corresponds with tests. Final was optional if you get above a C on all other tests. Tests directly corresponded with hw and she offers extra credit sometimes.
Gloria really wants her students to succeed. She makes sure all the students are on the same page. She will review things if she notices even just one person who seems to not be understanding the material, while also keeping them anonymous. She is a fabulous teacher and makes learning the material easy. She is always willing to help.
Gloria is an awesome math teacher. I would take her for every single math class if I could. She goes over homework every single day and makes sure that everyone understands the problems. Always be ready to have a question for her or else there will be a surprise pop quiz! Definitely encourage you to take her class!
Such a great teacher. She has tons of resources and grades nicely. Even with all the resources given to you, you can still email her and she will still help you.
This class got moved to online cause of Covid, but she did a really good job. She was always checking in and asking if we needed help. She really cared about her students and she would work around our schedules. Really nice person! We did work on mymathlab and that can be tricky sometimes. But other than that, she was great.
I really enjoyed her math class. She was very nice and helpful when students were stuck, and she only graded the tests.
Gloria helped me to learn math online better than I had anticipated! She always has weekly Zoom Meetings for anyone who needs help, and is always accessible outside of the classroom. She explains well, and always asks your opinion on the material. You do not feel pressured to know everything. She takes things one step at a time! Solid choice!
Would not recommend taking this class. There was so much homework I can guarantee itll take you the whole day to complete both notes and homework. Right at the beginning of the quarter she says she wont be teaching at all and you have to rely on learning by my math lab. You literally cant fail any test if you want to get an A in this class.
