Taught like you were still in grade school. She got mad at the class if you didnt give her the answer she was looking for.
Glynda White, was the worst teacher I have ever had. Other than being a terrible teacher of business. She is very mean spirited! Everytime I talked to her I felt like I was on thin ice. If you want a good experiance with a business class do not take her. Test are all essay questions which mean she can grade you how she likes you. Warning to all!
Dr. White is an excellent and knowledgable professor. She is serious about the law, and is serious about insuring her students understand the law. Those who didn't appreciate her method of instruction probably had no self-discipline and where looking for an easy A. If you get an A in her class - you earn it the old fashioned way. You work for it.
outstanding teacher. She's tough love, but really pushes you to your potential.
Oh my! Glynda makes it as hard as she possibly can. Supertough exam (which half the class failed and nobody got an A), two film critiques, group legal presentation, and to top it off, legal research project of 10 required pages for 5 questions. She is very unclear, talk very slow (a few people fell asleep), rude, always late...Avoid this class!!
A difficult class exams are all in essay format. She is not clear on lectures.
if you hate her it's because you wanted an easy course... law is not easy and she makes you earn your grade. she's a great professor, i remember everything i learned in her class(es), she's a human being and she cares about her students but she wont be taken advantage of ...
her course is difficult (it's law) and she won't make it easy for you-but you're in college! the people who hated her basically didnt want to earn a good grade.. she offers help and understands if you have VALID issues and need to be cut a break... but you need to show up and be interested in your own education
THIS TEACHER IS HORRIBLE. YOU ARE CLUELESS WHAT SHE IS LOOKING FOR ON ASSIGNMENTS. ON ONE ASSIGNMENT SHE SAYS THAT I NEED TO JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION AND NO MORE. THE NEXT ASSIGNMENT, I DID WHAT SHE SAID AND SHE RESPONDED TELLING ME THAT I NEEDED TO ELABORATE. EVERYONE IN THIS CLASS HAS COMPLAINED AND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE EXPECTS!! HORRIBLE!!
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She wrote the wrong assignment in the syllabus and then told us we did the wrong assignment. Pointed out we did what was in the syllabus and still told us we were wrong! She is argumentative and rude and will not admit a mistake. Avoid her at all costs. Not looking for an easy class just a coherent teacher
THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH...HER CLARITY IS ABSENT!!! SHE DOESN'T EXPLAIN ANYTHING AND DOCS POINTS FOR HER VAGUENESS...DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER....EVER!!!!! EEEVVVEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This woman is the worst instructor I have ever had. She refused to provide any direction. Her feedback, when she bothered to give any, was unclear. I never knew what her expectations were. I got a 90% in the class and she gave me a B for a final grade. I would think 90% is an A, or at the VERY least a B+. She was also very rude to everyone.
Totally unhelpful. This is an online course and she is too slow to respond to requests and then when she responds she still fails to even answer your question.
If you enjoy hearing only negative comments, no positive feedback, and oh if you like not being able to share your opinions she is the teacher for you. Avoid taking her...I know she is the only law professor at this school, but do yourself a favor and just take it at UNLV. They might actually be able to answer your questions instead of degrading
She does not teach! Stay away! When you have questions, she tells you to just move on to the next chapter and will not give you a score. There is no instruction whatsoever. CSN should get rid of her.
Stay AWAY. Yes I understand it?s a law class but we are not in law school there?s a lot of material that she expects us to know before attending class. She gets grouchy and for the most part she is always late...
First off. The grading scale is completely idiotic. 93% or lower is B, 86% or lower is a c. She is super rude and there are tons of spelling errors in her test questions, essentially making all the tests U take rigged against you.U don't even need to take this class anymore to take BLW 474 at unlv. Trust me folks. Avoid & take 473 at UNLV.
first time taking employment law...she's nice but her time management is not the best..she's always late to class and she always jump from one thing to another..she get's confusing...pay attention to what she says because she might say another thing and she'll forget
I should have looked at this ratings before taking this class!!! Yes. I admit I didn't do so well on 4 quizes, but I still have 73%! Everyne, who's taking this course, know that I got "F" don't you!? I understand that Law class could be difficult, but just wish that she used percentages so that I could get "C" and pass this class.....
She is the worst Teacher ever!! Grading scale is outrageous!! Never take her class!!!
SHE IS NO HELP AT ALL. TOOK HER ONLINE CLASS. BEWARE OF HER GRADING SCALE. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET A HIGH LOW B OR HIGH C BECAUSE OF MY TEST SCORES BUT ENDED UP WITH A D. SHE WAS NOT ENGAGING IN CLASS EITHER. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS CLASS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN. WHY BOTHER HAVING A TEACHER SHE WASNT ANY HELP.
This was a challenging course. First, Dr. White is not engaging and does not go over answers to test questions that were missed. You also never find out which questions on your tests you answered incorrectly. In short, everything you learn will be from the book. Don't expect too much more from her.Do engage her with questions and show your interest
Law is not an easy subject. She is a wonderful professor, who is very passionate about what she teaches. The class isn't easy, if you don't read the material or participate in class. So do your reading & participate you should be good. She does grade work and gives it back with comments as well.
She took forever to respond to emails and made it so you were unable to communicate with other members of the class via email. She required the use of a software-Respondus Lockdown but didn't not provide support when it wasn't working. I had to drop the class because I missed the 1st exam due to her not getting back to me in regards to the software
She does not make things clear, her grading is insane, I only passed the class with an C, the class is already hard in the teacher does not make it any better, I would stay away from this teacher
Dr. White is a great teacher. I went into this class expecting a lot more work and a lot less reading. Expect to read 70-90 pages a week. Only a few assignments though. (One case summary, midterm, 1-2 group projects, and final exam) Dr. White is very passionate about what she teaches and expects her students to be competent and work hard.
Beware of Dr. White. She is horribly unclear. The syllabus changes throughout the semester and is rude when answering questions. My entire class is failing the weekly quizzes and uses a lock down browser that does not seem to be grading fairly. Stay away!
Dr. White is very rude and completely unfair!! I took her online class to be able to do things at a reasonable speed but for her class she only gives you fron 5am to 11pm on a SATURDAY to do tests and trn in work!! well I, like im sure everyone else, works a full time job and i missed the time limit and she refused to help me! never take her!
Should not teach online classes, uses lockdown browser which was not working properly had to retake a couple exams. I did not get credit for one exam she was not helpful. I just dropped her class for spring
Prior to taking this class, I was really scared and nervous due to all the ratings here. All I can say is I LOVE Dr. White. It's not an easy class but if you read and listen to her lectures, you will really learn. She is so passionate about her teachings and she really wants to her students to learn. One of the best teacher at CSN!!! MUST TAKE!!!
She demands respect, which is well due. If you respect the way she teaches and come to class ready to learn and put some effort in, you can get an A. If you want an easy A then this isn't your teacher but if you want to learn. Please take Glynda White and you will not regret it. I love her and she will remain a mentor of mine.
I just started this online course with "Dr" White and already received a 48% for my introduction. My first and hopefully last F in college. How can you get an F in an introduction where it is solely on your opinion nothing based on the book? Very unfair and strongly discourage future students to enroll in her class. Why is she still teaching?!
Currently taking this class online. It is also the second time I am taking this course and this professor. Between 1-5, Professor White is a 0. She's not helpful at all. The respondus test for this summer course is difficult and does not give you much time to finish. The book will not help with the test at all.I'd avoid prof. white if you could
Stay away!Drop the class if you are about to take glynda white. Class is hard and that is expected in a business "law" course. BUT, it would have helped if glynda white communicated, showed interest, and helped out more! She'll ruin your college experience!
I expected to work for and receive an A or a B. Due to this instructor's poorly written tests, lack of feedback on the tests, unclear expectations on written assignments, lack of teaching or discussions, and ridiculous grading scale (Min. of 94%=A, 88%=B, 80%=C) I will receive a C. Stay Way!!!!!
She is the worst! Someone said that she demands respect. Respect goes both ways & she will give you absolutely none. As a matter of fact she sent my introduction back told me that what I thought about myself was wrong & told me that I needed to be more broad & focus my response. After that she had the nerve to tell me I suggest you move on. Avoid!!
I think that she's confused about what college she teaching at. This isn't Harvard Law School or Boyd School of Law. This is a basic law course. She was rude and ignorant. The only thing I got from this class was frustration. She didn't teach me a single thing. Save your time & money and take this class with someone else.
Dr. Glynda White is an absolute genius and great professor in the classroom. She's no slouch and you shouldn't be either. Dr. White is an exception to the rule and I'm elated to have taken her courses.
I too received a lower than normal grade on my introduction assignment because I didn't over indulge on my scholastic plans. She did seem to be very short and irritated when it came to answering any questions that I emailed her. Maybe she is just very busy and answers emails quick and to the point.
Took the on-line class. This Prof. is the worst so far! As stated you earn respect, and I have none for her. She is rude and does not respond to emails in a timely fashion. I do not think she even read my introduction - deducted points for not following the syllabus - which I did at the top of my paper, as I do will all of my papers.
Dr. White doesn't do much teaching for the online courses. You have to read the book and teach yourself- which almost makes you learn material better. Her exams have typos and can be unclear. TAKE PICS OF THE COMPUTER SCREEN for review and to clarify with her. You will not know which questions you miss.
I loved her class! At first I was frighten by her, she's very forward, blunt and doesn't sugar coat but if you want to pass her class you've got to work for it. it's not that hard just lots of reading and knowing your stuff. She teaches as if you are a law student. Way I see it, you don't want a soft lawyer? This class is not for the weak.
Down and simple, she's a horrible teacher. Her handwriting is not legible. Her cursive writing looks like a 5th grader just starting out to write. She has a a very small choice of words. Sometimes it will throw you off track because she's says " If you will..." so many times that you begin to go crazy. You WILL regret taking her I promise.
Dr. Glynda White is the kind of educator every parent should want for their child, and what every student should want for himself/herself. I studied with Dr. White in 2013, and my educational investment could not have been better. I attended each class read up and prepped to go. Many students don't read and they become angry for their own failure
Dr. White is a superb educator. I've studied under her for 2 business courses and received valuable information. Many students didn't expect to read or write, their skills were weak and they were lazy. Dr. White is motivated to teach, knowledgeable and taught well. Her expectations of students "adults" to have some level of knowledge an absolute.
Glynda White is a very rude and obnoxious teacher. She hides her tests after you take them so you can't review your missed questions. She writes some of her own questions that don't even use proper English or begin to form a conscious statement. She offers no sort of help when you come to her with a problem. By far the worst teacher I'v had at CSN.
Don't listen to the haters! Dr. White will demand a lot from you as a student but will deliver a lot as a teacher. You will learn in her class. She may seem stern at first, but she has a great sense of humor and mastery of the material; she will make it relevant to you. She expects participation and preparation. A great teacher; so glad I took her!
Dr. White hides tests after taken so you can't review to know where answered wrong. Rcvd a D by 8 pts. really, after dedcting 3 pts from intro as it not stating on paper, doc was saved as intro. States that contract used unusually large fnt,it was 12 pt font. She offers no help when you come to her with problem. By far worst teacher I'v had at CSN.
Quizzes and reading material was pretty easy ( I took her online class). Only thing that was a bit confusing was the service contract. I enjoyed reading the chapters. Not as bad as I thought it would've been.
I took employment law with Dr. White in person. Looking at comments, i thought it would be a tough class. It wasn't, law is already a tough subject. She makes it easier for students to understand. There is some reading required but it will only benefit you in the long run. I've learned a lot and will be taking her online class this Spring!
she comes off strong the first two weeks, but she values your participation. You get a lot out of her lectures, she knows her stuff. Minimal assignments that are worth a lot, so you can't miss any. Gives detailed info in what to review for midterm and final. Overall amazing professor, would take another class with her again.
Worst teacher i ever had she literally made me go to sleep in all of her class sections ,didnt understand anything she teach she expects you to know everything in a week and dosent help you when you don't understand i would strongly recommend to not take a class with her .
By far the worst teacher I had in my life! Not only was she rude when asking her questions (refer to syllabus, really?) but I didn't learn a thing in her class. I have done 6167 credits online and she's THE WORST. I got docked 16 points for misspelling led (I put lead) because she "didn't understand what I meant." Be warned.
I looked at this professors ratings and didn't want to take it. I had to for degree. She grades hard, and her lectures are what I would consider a stressful learning environment. She says "in reference to that" like a hundred times a lecture and makes them very confusing. If I had to do it again I would take it online if its possible. AVOID!!!
Haters are always going to hate. Dr. White expects excellence from her students and shouldn't be made to accept any less. Why go to college if you do not want to be challenged? Why want an easy teacher who is only going to let you slide by with no actual information learned? Dr. White is tough on those who are not prepared and ready to do work.
Do not take her class. She does not care about her students. Even if you have a computer error she does not care. She doesn't listen and she does not respect any of her students. Her book does not even exist and where ever you go to get one no one has the book. I got a C in her class even though I had to get an A but she did not care about me @ all
I love her!!!! However, she does make you work for your grade but you will learn in this class.
Excellent teacher.
Great teacher! It is a class that requires you to pay attention and actually do your work, but I guarantee if you do the work, pay attention and read your chapters you will learn something. She is a tough teacher, but overall it's a great class. I was excited to come to class every Monday, I even bought my book to read after the semester:)
She's one of the best prof I've had the pleasure of learning from. It's refreshing to experience a prof that forces her students to learn. She's extremely knowledgeable. Her lectures are interesting and relevant to today. Her class should be required for all AB degrees. I was just going for an MBA. Now, I'm going after a JD/MBA. Highly recommend!
Hard , hard, hard. You will read entire book. Hard grader. Always late.
She was a very tough grader and every assignment I turned in was not good enough. Even though I met all the requirements of the assignment she would still mark me down for something. Hard class to get an A in. I would recommend avoiding her class if you can, but she is the only teacher for some subjects.
She is a very no nonsense Professor. She responds well to questions. She is straight to the point. Took the online course and as long as you read and study you will be fine. The whole course was mostly test oriented. Two writing assignments in total. Also, make sure you follow directions. Other than that a good teacher.
Look, this professor cares nothing about her students, does not respond to emails, is quite rude in her notes on your homework, and gives no help to those students who are ADA. She needs to retire as she may possibly have lost what the meaning of teacher means....
Boring lectures, anal about the syllabus and missed a couple of classes (including the first) expects full class participation and will sometimes keep talking before someone can answer. Once told me to stop answering her questions and still gave me a lowish participation score. Very hard grader I'm sure you won't get an A in her class.
Took an online class BUS273, in the end it turned out that students HAVE TO pay $146.00 to a third party website just to take the final exam, I am not kidding!!!! There is no way around it.!!!Never seen or heard anything like it. E-mailed her , very rood answers, she thinks she is the smartest person in the world and everyone else is stupid.
Worst teacher in CSN. Never ever go to her class
i know she doesn't have the best rating but i enjoyed her classes, read a lot. she wants the students to think and engaged, not always clear but she is good with the grading and gives extra points. at the beginning i was lost but i learned that with her you need to read a lot to prepare to class, engage and then it will be alright
Refers so heavily on her syllabus it's not even worth asking her questions. She made up her own GRADING SCALE. I thought I was getting a C, her scale landed me a D. U have to go to a court hearing and write about it no choice, sucks if u have a job, sorry callout. Unfortunately shes the only one for this class >:( Overall, rude and should retire.
Believe the low ratings for this professor. Relied solely on Connect to teach the class. Rarely communicated with the class, except to remind us to vote and tell us to read her syllabus. Book required 4 class but never used, all was needed was the online code, waste of $$. Expect a lot of reading and little feedback. Choose another instructor!!
RATE FOR this TEACHER IS DEFIANTLY ZERO. DIFFICULTY IS DEFIANTLY 10. We were 20 people in the class and after first test the many of students dropped their class because the professor is the worst TEACHER in this college. I dont have any idea why CSN still keeping this TEACHER. SHE gave 5 students zero for no reasons!!! AVOID! AVOID!AVOID
Hard , hard, hard. You will read entire book. Hard grader. Always late. She doesnt care to anyone. Your efforts for this course are in vain . Dont tack a class with her . I dropped this corse.
She is not helpful and no the teaching at all her behavior is not as a professor to help you out. She feels her class is a court! AVOID AVOID AVOID to take her classes even if you have chance to take another semester with another professor. Her GRADE is even LESS than ZERO. NO RECOMENDED!!! She gave some student ZERO and NO comments!! Unbelievable!
There is no zero option, ZERRO is the real grate for her! AVOid if you would like your education do not effected. IF you study for A+ will get C+ IF you study for A will get C. IF you study for B will get F. It doesnt matter how and how much you effort, you will get bad grade in your courses!I hardly recommended AVOID to take any of this Teacher!!
I don't know why the csn college has such a teacher. she has a her own way f grade .pleas do not take a class with her.
Hi guys, There is a recommendation for who do not like be fail or get a really awful grade! I have all tests , but you won't be able to answers them. Even I was trying to find them after my take quiz! around 10 hours with looking in the text book and even in the internet! AVOID to take this Professor!!! IF you do not like to be fail!!! Thank you, F
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR LEGAL ENVIRONMENT! Her test are challenging! She only provides powerpoints and for you to read your textbook to prepare for the test, and the test do not corespond. I have even googled answers and tried using quizlet, etc. The answers are no where to be found. I emailed her asking her for help or tips and she was quite rude.
This prof is rude, condescending, takes forever to reply to questions, and embarrassed a student in front of everyone. Her syllabus is inconsistent with what she says is required for the class and will spring requirements on you at the very last minute. She will tell you what type of quiz you will have and then the quiz is the exact opposite!
will have a bad grade in your credit if go a head and take this class. she says just study but you are not able to find the quiz questions no where even in internet. There is something wrong with the study source! she gave all cases that she had problem in her court!! she won't care about you, answers rudely in front of people! What the F credit!
This woman is obnoxious and down right mean. IF she responds to emails, she is rude, abrupt, harsh, and all around mean. She does not stick to her syllabus and assumes you are ignorant. She will also belittle students in front of each other. It is obvious she should no longer be teaching. God only knows why CSN lets her continue teaching.
Lacks compassion, condescending, cannot view quiz answers, tests and quizzes include questions that are not in the text, there is no grading rubric, when she says 200 word max, she means 200 word min, when she says be brief ask her to clarify cause I got docked for being too brief with an assignment that had no word count and said be brief.
This teacher demands lots of respect but gives out none. I never thought that at college level I would have to deal with being embarrassed in front of the whole class because I didn't read one of the announcements. This teacher is rude and does not care about her students. Could take more than 3 days to reply to emails. Do not recommend at all.
Probably the worst teacher on this entire school. Do not recommend at all. If you want to have a terrible experience and like to be embarrassed in front of your class then this is the class for you. This professor does not care about her students at all. Just be smart and don't take this class, probably the best decision you are ever going to make.
This professor lacks empathy for her students. Be prepared to do every single assignment or fail the class.
I mean, I didn't really have a problem with her as I took her online [in person might be different from the looks of it]. She's really hands off, requires a Connect Access textbook. All I had to do was read the chapter and take the associated quiz. She doesn't really talk to the students virtually or make any announcements, it's straight forward.
Dr white failed me with a 69.98 and would refuse to round the grade to a C. It was an 8 week course and I was working two jobs at the time on top of being a full time student. I was never absent once. Dr. White would make up assignments on the spot in class and would expect you to remember what she wanted done based off the lecture. Mean women.
If you are a more old-fashioned style student whole enjoys reading from the textbook and only learning from the textbook, then this class is for you. Not my cup of tea. She doesn't believe in a valid reason or excuse for something late to let people know.
Professor White was virtually no part of the class. Only had one outside assignment, which was an introduction. Every other assignment is done through the connect access textbook. I did like that the 5 quizzes were due every month, not very overwhelming. Not a fan of her grading scale.
Overall, I did not mind the class. The textbook and tests correlate nicely, so it's easy to pass as long as you read/do note-taking. That being said, she's not nice. I had surgery, and she was extremely unsympathetic and only extended the assignments by one day. If you have a personal emergency, don't expect her to understand.
Work given in blocks- you have 30daus to complete 4-5 chapters. A lot of reading. Great class for self study / time management. I took class remote was able to finish all the work on my own time schedule. I did extra activity and it carried me to A- . Follow syllabus exactly. Professor is a tough grader. Test are in Mcgraw - Hill program
Follow Syllabus to a T. If have questions ask before work is due. Tough grader. I took online class. Text book is terrible , even though material is actually interesting. I took classes with similar subjects covered in different text book and it really helped me retain the information. I like that class work can be done at your own pace.
I was so scared of taking this professor because of all of the reviews. The assignments are all quizzes. There is a syllabus you have to follow. Just read and take the tests. Also, she is horrible at communication. She just tells you to look at the syllabus for answers. Syllabus isn't even up to date. This class stressed me out the most.
She's a professor with bad reviews that is actually not bad at all, if you take her online. Read interesting material, do quizzes and interactives, take the exam and final assignment. Actually had lecture material on power points. Not bad.
Professor is very condescending, she has very little communication and expects you to know everything. This is the only professor that teaches the class so I had no choice.
I took her class because she was the only person available, she does not give feedback on anything, has no lecture, and theres no possibility for extra credit, cero communication, also very rude on the phone and has no sympathy for anyone, my house on fire, I lost my job, she doesn't care. I am taking the class again but with a different professor.
Professor White's class is strict but manageable if you stay on top of the work. The textbook and quizzes are straightforward, and unstuck AI proved helpful for my study prep.
Shes ok. the material isn't that boring, just lots of reading; hws are McGraw hill, but she doesn't let u see what you got wrong, and when i emailed her asking her if there is anyway to review my quiz she said to read syllabus to learn how to contact her. like girl what? u can ask her to reopen the quizzes to try again, tho i didnt know.
I took this professor's online class before reading any reviews. DO NOT TAKE. Business Law is hard and it is even harder when the professor has NO Lectures and gets pissed off when you ask questions. This teacher was super rude and has a awful grading scale. I got a 90.6% in the class and was still given a B because of her grading structure.
She "hides" several important facts about her "course rules" within arcane sections of a multi-page, multi-document syllabus. She answers student inquiries with condescending language and responses. She does NOT teach, she merely administers the highest possible level of McGraw Hill criteria for it. No + or - grades, only whole letters. Avoid her!
Very condescending towards her students, and she's not helpful when it comes to grading/feedback. However, I guess the good thing is there aren't many assignments. Get ready to read - her lectures don't help. Also was late to all of the classes in an eight-week course. Final class she showed up 10 minutes late and then left for another 15 minutes.
The class itself was easy, all done on McGraw Hill. However her grading is terrible. I was bumped down to a B as my final grade and have no understanding why. She locks your overall grade so you are blind sided by what you actually have in the class. After my own calculations I should have have an A no doubt. Don't take this instructor.
I took her online. Everything was through McGraw Hill & it's a lot of reading. Quizzes were assigned in blocks (4-5 chapters per 30 days), so there really isn't an excuse to not get your work done. She offered 1 extra credit assignment that was super easy. She responds to Canvas messages in less than 24 hours & on a weekend. She was nice to me.
