this is the worst teacher i have had in my 5 years at this school. i have never had any problems passing any other classes until i got ariguzo, i've taken three classes with him and haven't passed one yet. he gives a tons of homework, 30% of grade
That last person is a joke. Godwin is an outstanding professor, I know it's tough when a professor actually asks you to work. He assigns interesting projects that require effort, he also cares about his students and develops friendships with them.
He is a great guy willing to help you out if you do the work , which isn't much.
This guy is smart but not a good professor. He grades homework very unfairly.
Hes tough
I did well in his class, but his teaching style leaves something to be desired. Sometimes I think he just bombards students with work because that's what a teacher "should do". My guess is this guy hasn't been teaching very long at all.
Just an average teacher. He plays favorites with certain students he likes. He is sometimes very hard to follow and understand. He grades homework like a middle school substitute teacher. I wouldn't take him again.
On the surface he seems like a great teacher, knows what he's talking about, interesting lectures, etc. But the tests were just the ones that came with the book, on material he never covered in class, and he put minimal effort into grading.
dude im sorry but he is so hard to understand. And he grades homework really unfairly, which sucks because it counts alot and there aren't that many hmwks. The project he has given is very unclear and not very managed. He is a nice guy but a bad teacher.
professor arriguzo is the best teacher at umass dartmouth. ive never seen someone so intense in class on a day to day basis and hes a funny guy if you get him loosened up. deffinatly take him if you ahve a chance
I didn't enjoy Promo(group project killed me because I wasn't interested)Exams were difficult too, but I'm taking CB w/him and I enjoy the subject much better. Exams are better too. He's always willing to help & is a great professor. You gain more from him than most professors! Easy going..take him
Amazing teacher actually give some hands on experience! More teacher should follow his example. The class project is a ton ofwork and the test are hardbut it isby far the best class i have ever taken
Nice guy, mediocre professor. Hard to follow, sometimes hard to understand. Belongs working in an office, not teaching.
I enjoyed taking the marketing 211 class. He was very helpful to the students and showed a genuine interest in helping us learn the proper material. Prior to taking the class, I wasn't very interested in marketing, now I find it somewhat interesting. I would recommend this class to other students.

Prof. Arigiuzo is an excellent teacher and was very interesting. He genuinly cares about his students, and is very fair. You get the grade you you earn. If your looking for an easy A, sign up for Prof. White, not Prof. Ariguzo.
Very hard to understand. Has favorites. Exams are the ones that came with his book (lots of tricky questions), some material not covered in class.
Prof. Ariguzo? is difficult to understand, inconsistent/lacks teaching skills and impatient. You'll get a better education by buying the book and skipping the class. He's a waste of time.

A good professor, but not as wonderful one. His class was wonderful. You get the grade you earn not what you need. If you want an A earn the A. There is NO other way it will work.
This is seriously the worst class ever... I would rather do.... actually i would rather do anything then go to this man's class... It really feels like he wants to shut all your work down... I don't learn anything and i spend the whole time thinking about when i get to leave... i would recommend staying away from this course ..
Tough to understand. doesnt go over information that will be tests very well. Gives tough projects and likes giving all his homework online and not mentioning what it is during class. He is very helpful if you see him after class and he does care about how his students do. I still don't recemmend him.
he is very hard to understand. hard work,doesnt tell you the work you have to do, he will put it all on line and not mention any of it in class and will put you down on your work. very boring class, you will fall asleep. i do not recommend you take this class
ok the only thing I liked about this guy was his tests they were super easy but i hated him for everything else he is always busy never has time for you to meet with him and assigns you partners for a huge group project I didnt like him

He doesnt explain how to do any of the HW or prjects. He isnt helpful when you ask for extra help. He has a difficult to understand accsent. He grades very hard. VERY BORING also....take this class with the lady teacher...anyone but him!

This guy is a great teacher. AS long as you do the work and study you should get an A. I got a C but i know i slacked off. He really motivates you.
He gives you alot of work for a 101 class. Even though there are many many people in your class he still takes attendance everyday.Your grade is based on attendance tests and a group project. The tests are easy is you read the text and study.The group project was way too much work and it sucked.I got a b+ def could have made an a if i tried harder
grade is on 3 tests, 1 is the final. There r about 5 chapts to go over per test + if u read the chapts + print out ariguzos pwrpoints then u shud do fine. He doesnt help at all during his lectures in learning the material but he does give u a headache with his accent + yelling. There r 4 comp. quizzes on word,excel,pwrpt,access. Group proj. sucks
Basically you need to do the work. The business plan takes a lot of work but as long as you stay on top of it you will do fine. All of his tests are easy to get good grades on if you do the practice tests for them because that is where he takes all his questions from. Overall, it's not too bad.
Don't take this guy...The whole class is you and an assigned group have to come up with a whole business plan. He doesn't help, he just expects you to know how to do it, and if its wrong he gives it back for you to redo. His tests are easy, but he is stuck up and can barely understand what he is saying. He isn't understanding
he is horrible...he is full of himself and doesn't understand that by taking the class it means you don't know anything about business...he is to busy talking about all of his succes to notice that he isn't teaching anything
This professor favors certain student and pretends to be nice. He threatens people at the beginning of the semester so that they are not late for class. This year's threat was "If you like you legs, don't be late for my class. I will break your legs if you are late". He is loud and doesn't care about who hear's his comments.

absolutely the worst teacher i have ever had. he makes the class so boring and his accent is horrible. show up late for class and be prepared to get repremanded. overall, horrible teacher. take his class and you'll see why...
Best professor you will meet on campus! I know him outside of the classroom, he will listen to you, give you the best advice he can, and he is very enthusiastic and encouraging! In the classroom, show him respect, be on time and understand that we are in college, and yes you do have to actually study and do work!

great prof! as far as his accent, it took a week to get used to it but it's not bad, i understand him fine, he's from nigeria wat do you except? doesnt mean he doesnt know how to teach...hes a wonderful person outside of class too...if you're looking for an easy A where you learn zero take someone else, this prof teaches you

Plays favorites, big time. Only ppl who like are his favorites. Pretends to be nice at the beginning of the semester. If you cant understand his accent, he gets angry at you. His expectations are not always clear and gets mad at you if you question him. Sometimes nice, but can be a real prick when he wants.
Has office hours, but needs to know if you plan to show up for help. Can be nice sometimes, but not always. Not always useful either. You need to do the work in class. He is extra hard on the students that are not his favorites…. not fair!

He is a nice guy at times. He has his days/moments - Make sure to attend class because he discusses a lot during his lectures that is on the test. Keep up with your business plan and don't fall behind or it will bite you in the butt!

Let's see 1) He expects you already know about business when you show up 2) If you have a problem and email him and he doesn't like what you have to say don't expect an email back 3)In business groups he's unfair at grading I did all the work and got lowest grade cuz a teemate complained about me cuz they didn't like me
Let's see...you e-mail him for help..he'll never write you back. You ask him a question during class and he'll make you look like an idiot. He picks favorites. Teach yourself and suck up...he seems to like people who do that...I'm not one of them that's why I got a C.
Dr. Ariguzo is the best teacher I have had here at UMASS. All the negative feedback is because he isn't that easy, but how else would you learn. he's a awesome guy too and really cares about students and their future. I will take his class again

He is the worst teacher on campus! All he does is yell and you can't understand a word he says. He is so loud that you can hear him 2 classrooms away. He makes students do his work and then takes the credit for it. Avoid him if you want to make it through the required classes!
This professor? needs to be replaced. All students should right to President, Chancellors, you name it. We pay high tuition to put up for someone who can't speak English and above all, contradicts students. Grades unfairly, no matter how much effort you put into your projects. Students have enough on their plate to put up with nonesense.
i liked him ,i dunno but at 8am i needed someone to speech up and wake me up,,i got a B in his class, His tests were very strait forward,,no tricks,,if you study the high lighted terms then read over the chapter and do the online practice quiz,,its very easy,,

Even though Marketing is my major, i didn't do good in that class because it is so easy to loose points in his class. For the exams, just do the practice quizzes online and do them over and over until you know them by heart!attend all classes between exams and you will have extra points on your exam!Big Group Project to do for his class too. Hard

Needs to go back to school to not only learn English, but to teach business. UMASS needs to reconsider professors who contradict students' efforts. This professor? can't teach business, exams are based on multiple choices. Waste money and time. Everyone do not take this class. Choose a professor who speaks english and uses common sense.

Good class, u learn a lot from the book-which u must read bc he doesnt go over everything on the tests, Do the online quizzes that come with the book-they are basically the test questions. The group project is a pain but if you just follow the syllabus and use what you learn, you will be fine, get extra points on tests for attending every class
he is a jerk. doesnt care about the students. i was really sick and didnt care to help me out at all. marketing was my major, but his class made me switch my major because i grew to hate marketing from him.
He is kind of hard. If you don't read the book and to all the practice online then you will have an extremely hard time. A lot of people complain about his accent but I found no trouble with it. Frankly Business students shouldn't complain about accents, most good businesses deal with people overseas. He is not nearly as bad as some engin prof.
This Professor is very arrogant. He thinks he invented marketing and likes to think he knows it all. He picks favorites in the class and even if you do a awesome job on the project, he will ask questions and call you out during presentations to prove to the class that he knows one up on you. Awesome material in class, just taught wrong.
You can slack in this class, however don't expect a good grade out of that. Do your work, go to class or not. I don't care, he's all right.

He doesn't mention deadlines until the due date, and his grading is pretty tough. Definately plays favorites. Good class material, but not presented well.
Good guy, can make it confusing because hes always trying to get people to disagree with each other, so you never know the right answer. The tests get harder as you go, and he doesn't use the book much in class only slides that he blows through. He gives only two writing assignments and grades them very hard, the project is lengthy.
Hi,I never actually had any of his classes but believe me he is a great guy. The reason he yells all the time is because he has four young children at home. And like most children they cause destruction.Trust me, I have met them before. Plus you're in college! You shouldn't get upset because its "Too Hard" Not everythings easy!Also I understand him

This was a great class and i enjoyed it. I didnt have a pronblem with his accent at all and he was very insightful. However, his grading is very harsh and he grades everything with a fine toothed comb. I believe he is one of the smartest professors at UMD and i was glad to have him. Great class if you're a marketing major.
I really enjoyed him, attendance is required, but you're in college obviously its going to be hard. He pushes you one of the best professors at UMD, a MUST if you're a marketing major!
don't even bother. switch to another class. hes is absolutely terrible. When I lost my best friend he wouldnt even excuse the absence i had the day after i found out. he took points off of the exam i had to make up because i had a funeral to go to. he does pick favorites is close minded and rude---TERRIBLE
I took this during the 3wk intersession and it was extremely difficult (and online). His accent makes communication difficult esp over the internet. However, I think he is a brilliant man and expects a lot out of his students and is invested in them.
This professor is AMAZING. He gives a lot of work so get ready to actually read the textbook, and study from the notes, do disscusion boards, and take exams. But the discussions and what you take way from the class is enjoyable. You discuss current TV ads and demographics. Its interesting but a lot of work.

Difficult class, the project requires lots of work and actual thinking (research, creativity, textbook material application, etc). Ariguzo is a very intelligent and knowledgeable professor, and he expects everyone to love it as much as he does. If you like challenges and learning, take this class.
One of the top 2 professors I have ever had. His excitement draws you into the class and his exams are so easy if you have a brain. If you want to be successful in marketing and life in general, develop a friendship with him and pay attention in class. Friendliest teacher I know and he has really made an impact on my future for the better!
You will find out right away if you like this guy or can't stand him. He is very demanding so be prepared to work your butt off in this class. He has the entire course planned out exactly, with no changes so you'll know when everything is due. Tests are tricky study hard and GO TO CLASS!
If you are a Marketing major and you take it seriously, Ariguzo's class will be worthwhile. You need to put in a lot of work & actually study! The semester-long project is time consuming, but you will learn a lot from it if you put solid effort into it & work w/ a good group. Don't be discouraged by comments on here and put your best foot forward!
Its college, this course is for marketing majors only. If you can't handle this class change your major. Godwin is awesome and you actually learn a lot and the textbook is relevant. a couple projects but no regular homework. term project but its assigned the second week of the semester and you pick a group. take it.
Gowin comes off as a cool teacher and at times he is. Topics are interesting you learn a lot but not enough about the tested material. He is super focused on presentation making and will be extremely rude during yours. His requirements are very anal the tests suck and the book is confusing because is has 2 chapter 1s and 3 chapter 3s out of order
I recommend taking this class if you are a MKT major otherwise take it with someone else. Homework due before every class (very easy online). Tests are hard but all multiple choice. Very tough grader on essays/group projects. You'll learn alot
Godwin is a professor you will either love or can't stand. He doesn't like to excuse absences for anything even funerals. Tests are hard but all multiple choice however he doesn't cover the material well. He grades things harshly. There's no doubt he's a smart guy but he's not a good professor at all. Don't take unless you are a marketing major.
He is a very knowledgeable professor. In my class we prepared an actual marketing plan for an actual business. Take this class if you actually appreciate learning the subject and value your education. Tests are relatively easy if you attend class and pay attention.
He is a no good teacher. his grading for the class is bull. makes it impossible to do well in the class. Test are tough and he does nothing to prepare for them. takes his job way to serious and wants perfection.
Only take this class if you're a marketing major, and want to prepare a real marketing plan for actual companies that he brings in. If this class is just a requirement for you I suggest you NOT to take this class. He does not give an A and wont scale grades the average was 65. The tests are easy if you read every single word in the book. GOOD LUCK!
Marketing majors should love the guy. He is very passionate and energetic about marketing which I loved. He is very tough grader tho. I recommend being in a very good group for you're group project because yo do a lot of team work in his class.
Mandatory attendance. Massive group project that takes the entire term. Includes multiple presentations and papers. Tests are multiple choice and HARD.

He takes points off for things that aren't on his grading rubrics because they are "on his syllabus". So be careful of that. Also, if you have an issue with how he teaches or one of his grades... don't even bother, he doesn't care. He shows up to class, gives his lecture, then lets you leave. We didn't use the text book at all.
