and to add to the post of 11/04/08: to save the $150 of buying the book i would highly recommend you to go to the college math lab and copy about 5 questions from the homework and next to it copy the answers, you save money, and only spend about 10 mins in the lab, and for free. - Y

She's awesome, kinda cute. She has an accent but you can understand it. She gives extra credits in her exams and on her quizs. Her quizs are 2 Q's & exams are no more than 15 Q's. Most of them are NOT multiple choices. She explains them so clear and won't move on til 90% of the class gets it. But you can't miss any days or else you will be lost.

I've had her for 2 math classes and plan on taking her for a third. She's so encouraging and sweet and her explanations are really clear. She's always available during her office hours and is extremely helpful! One of my favorite teachers.

TAKE ANY CLASS YOU CAN WITH HER! She takes most of the quiz questions directly form the optional homework, and the quizzes are extra credit for the tests. The test questions are usually from the hw or her in class example questions. She is straight forward and as sweet as they come! If you do the hw you will get an A even if math isn't your forte!

She is very nice and really helpful but with the schedule I got going on right now, I just cant not keep my focuse on MAC1147. I withdrew from the class. You really gotta stay focused in that class. I should of taken the class seperatly. I've only had A's in my college career. So I did not want to risk my grades nor my GPA. Am taking MAC1114 next.

Whoever fail her class must be either skipping, sleeping in class,or just plain dumb, because she can really teachs, cover all material completely. Extremely helpful, grading is super easy. Offer extra credits, but it is not needed if you pass all your test with A's. This class is just a piece of cake

Excellent class! She is very helpful and she prepares her students for each test the class before the exam. I got an A as my final grade! I took the 8 am class and did well even though I am definitely not a morning person. She makes the class enjoyable. Attendance is not mandatory after the first week and there are no penalties for tardiness.

She is a good teacher, and easy class, barely study and still got a an A, just do the online homeworks and you'll do fine,also take all the extra credits that she gives. she never answer emails but she will explain whatever you want to know in class. Boring class over all, and she always let us out before time.

Professor Sargsian is an amazing algebra professor. Her teaching is very clear and thorough. I took her for a 6 week summer term, very intense, but if you do your hw everyday and study the reviews, you will pass! The final is optional and it will replace your lowest test score. And she gives you tons of extra credit opportunities.

A super freshman semester with Professor Sargsian! I took her last year for MAT1033 as well & I LOVE her! She is very crystal clear on the lectures and practice exercises. Online hw on Connect Math and there are reviews for all her tests, even the final which is optional, own it and she'll drop the lowest grade. Super sweet & always there for u!

Awesome Prof!!! I dreaded algebra, but after taking her class I feel so much better. She gives extra credit. 4 Quizzes & HW is on Connectmath. There are 2 class test and final is optional and replaces lowest grade of other test. Book is not required, just buy code for her HW. She offers help if you struggling, she really cares about her students.

Professor Sargsian is great! She knows how to teach & explains very well. She'll give extra credit here and there. I took her blended course & she opened up all the homework & quizzes we missed to bring up our grade. Took her for Summer. Her class was hard to keep up with due to 6 weeks but she was very clear on her lectures. She will run through anything you need clarification on. Hardcover text book is optional but ConnectMath is mandatory. Quizzes are online, and the final is optional as it replaces your lowest test grade. She's very kind as well.

I took professor Gohar for mat1033 &mac 1105 i love her to death she's truly amazing. no you can't use a calculator but she gives you easy problems. does a review before the test so you know what to expect. take notes & do the onine hw. there are quizzes but they only help your grade not hurt it. also attendance is extra credit

I am an absolute math idiot and had to take MAT1033 3 times before passing it and when i took MAC1105 with this professor in a 6 week summer course i thought i would fail but with her help and clarity i was able to pass with a B on my first try. she gives extra credit for doing work on the board and 10 point on test if you do the homework.

I loved Prof Sargsyan. She has been the best math teacher I have taken so far, she is very clear in the material. Her reviews are helpful for the exams. You just study what she teaches in the class, study the reviews and you should be fine. There are not many surprises in her exams. I left the class with a wider math knowledge.

Taking Mat 1033 with Professor Gohar was definitely the best thing that could have happened to me in math. She's one of the very few professors you will really and truly learn from! She's goes step by step in every math lesson with out hesitation! Extremely sweet and understanding!! Takes attendance when she wants so don't miss class! If you study her test are a piece of cake guaranteed, doesn't allow calutators though. I highly recommend her!

I do not have a good foundation in math. By some miracle, i understood everything she ever taught in class. i have taken her twice for two different math classes. There should be more teachers like her, you do not come across many teachers who actually know how to teach math and make it clear. Extremely caring teacher, so glad i took her!

she has four test and an optional final, she give review sessions for each test the class before the test. the homework counted as extra credit as well as the extra credit received for attending the review sessions. her tests are exactly like the review packets she gives and does in class with you.

If you're a non math major just trying to finish up your math requirements, shes a great choice. Like MGF1106, the course is extremely watered down easy even for the most math challenged students. The homework is extra credit and the exams, though non-multiple choice, are very simple and just like the review. She's big on showing work. She's great.

Yes , she goes fast because is college . This is not high school , you are an adult . consequently , professors are not going to baby you . However , she is an amazing professor , her lectures , review, and test are easy , but like any other class , you have to do your work, in addition, to learn and pass .

She is the only reason why my GPA is still at a 4.0. I've taken her for mat1033, mac1105, and just recently passed mac 1114. TAKE HER!! Make sure you do your homework, and understand the material. Easy A. Her finals are always optional; however, in Trig (1114) her final is mandatory. She is always in her office for any clarification you may need.

I end up going to tutoring a lot because I dont understand when she goes to fast. She grades the exams very good. Quizzes online, hw online. She doesnt let her students use calculators all semester. At first this was a problem because I wasnt used to it, but it helped me because the numbers were small. If you do the review she some Times gives extra credit and she goes over things twice if you need her to. I ended up with 106% in the class; I really recommend her.

Shes a very good professor, however there was no extra credit in her class. I was .36 points away from an A and she didnt curve. Also, she does not respond to emails. This was a big issue for me since the online quizzes sometime marks your correct answer wrong. Took the entire semester for her to correct it. No calculators needed.

Took this class basically online because of Covid. We met once a week and we used a program called connectmath that we did all our homework and tests on. Lots of homework that does not count for a lot, but make sure you do it to understand the tests. Overall, very sweet professor and is willing to help if you dont understand.

Professor Sargsian's lecture's were very easy to follow, she prefers if students participate during class. The homework was completed through connectmath and I suggest doing all of it, because you will be well prepared for the tests. If you need extra help, then make sure to schedule tutoring through the virtual MDC Math Lab. Take her class!

If you take this class in person she requires no calculators, but online it was fine. Like any math class you have to attend the lectures to learn and they're mandatory anyway. As a professor she's very responsive and will help if you're stuck on something. Probably harder in person, but very smooth online. She's very sweet.

Not much interaction its more at your own pace but as long as you do the connect math, follow the videos and do the practice test you should be fine. Also very understanding. I had reached out because when I needed to take my midterm, my laptop wasnt compatible with proctorU, so I had no way to take it, and they understood.

Professor Gohar is very strict with her class, I took this class during the first term of the summer. Your class is based on 4 tests which are 80% class, 10% participation, and 10% homework. If you do all your homework and participate in his classes you will have a good grade. She always answers your emails. I recommend it 100%

She was really generous when grading exams. Exams were graded by the steps you took and how right they were until you got lost which helps your grade SO MUCH. Being in class helps but tbh all you need is to do the hw and the study guide. She gives a study guide where there's extra credit if you solve a problem the day before the exam. Overall 9/10

I took this class as a 8 week term. Very good Professor who is organized and cares about you. Assignments on ALEKS and discussions and quizzes on Canvas. There is a Proctered Midterm and Final exam. I recommend you take this class.

Prof Sargsyan was an amazing Trig professor! We had 3 in-person tests, 3 online quizzes (not proctored), and an in-person final, with plenty of space between each! She does move a bit fast on the lectures, but she's available outside of class, and tutoring also helps. For tests, don't be afraid to ask for help; she will help you the best she can!
