The professor was clearly interested in how we learned. He asked for feedback after the midterms and actually used our advice for the next midterm, which improved our grade. Tests can be hard, but they are reasonable. Study the quizzes he gives you. Outlining the book really helps. Overall he was pretty good, approachable, and funny

I actually really liked Professor Lalic. His class was definitely not easy by any means, but he made an effort to help us learn as much as possible. After the first exam (which went horribly) he asked for feedback and responded accordingly. Can be a bit severe but clearly cares a lot about student success. One of the better teachers I've had.

While he seemed intimidating at first, it was clear that he cared about us learning. Our first test had a pretty low average but he blamed the low average on himself, saying he should've taught the material better. Honestly I thought it was because people weren't paying attention. He is very clear and drops hints about what might be on the tests.

Ochem is hard no doubt about that. This professor is simply lazy. When asked to draw out mechanisms for certain reagents, something integral to understanding OChem, he just straight up refuses cause in his own words "It's boring." He is very quick to judge a student before offering help. He's funny, that's about it.

CHEM 238 is a hard class and Lalic expects you to be prepared when you ask for help (i.e. reading the lecture notes), which is why some students think he's hard to approach, but he is very generous with office hours before exams and really cares about whether students are learning. Exams are hard but reasonable, and generous with partial credit.

He is great at explaining materials. He does not have quizzes, so your grade mainly consists of exams. One thing that I did not like is during a lecture he would talk about material that would not be on the exam and he did not expect you to know it. He explains important parts of the book during lectures that will be on exams

Funny guy and explains concepts well. Exams are pretty much your whole grade (84%), so be prepared for that, but he will do a decent job at explaining what's on the exams and what's not. Compliant stems from his lectures being near 50% of "stuff that we don't need for the exams" such as MO, rather than spending time on useful things.

Don't take this class. this is the hardest class I've ever taken and it was awful. The professor is very blunt and makes you feel bad for asking questions. He didn't show up to office hours when I went. His lectures are long but very surface-level, there is a lot of work to do outside of class to be test-ready the amount of content is overwhelming

Hardest class I've ever taken and a tough professor. Exam averages were 58% for 1st midterm, 49% for the 2nd, and then 51% for the final. Funny guy but harsh sometimes because you can't ask questions if you're not prepared. Tests are very difficult, so if you can't put in the work take another prof. Good luck.

You can tell he knows what he's talking about, but he is a demon for grades. If you care about your GPA, DONT TAKE Lalic. His average is a 2.8, and getting one standard deviation above the average only nets you a 3.6 (bell curve). Your grade is entirely based on exams, and he makes them HARD AS HELL + was upset abt a 60% exam 2 avg being too high.
