come on people!! first of all she is well organized and fluid. That was the studio class which had only one focus group (1 hour) each week. Wierd!! that is not about her that is about wierd studio thing. i wish i had her traditional class. She is so helpful. Just sayin

there was not much time in the focus group, but prof. Tekin did a great job getting a lot of material in a day.

I thought I would hate the studio course, but it ended up being pretty helpful. Focus group only met once a week, but she did lots of examples and gave us detailed packets. She was really helpful and gave us opportunities to redo closed assignments. I suck at math and I ended up getting an A.

Ms. Tekin is very understanding an occation. She moves a bit fast but always goes back to review at request. It is impossible to be shy because she always asks if we have any question or not. She cares us which makes me really comfortable in her class.

She is so sweet.  I've always struggled with math and previously had to withdraw from the same class with a different teacher. I honestly think that if you do your work, there is no reason to not get a good grade with this lady as a teacher. My overall grade is  B+ for now. . Waiting final exam. She is the most understanding, helpful professor i've had so far. I was struggling with some of the work so she re-opened my online quizzes for me to re-take. It took my grade from a D to a B+. Some students complained about her accent (she's Turkish,) I didn't have any problems understanding her. Take her class. You won't regret it.

Great instructor. Always willing to help. Lets you go at your own pace, very patient, opens the quizzes after deadline to let you try to improve your grade. She gives you many ways to improve your grade. Also, treats students great, not out to prove anything other than helping students. I highly recommend her.

I cant believe the last comment. I also took her online course and it was my best experience so far. I responded all my e-mails in couple of hours even it was late evening. She is super helpful. She did not have office hours; however, met with me when I asked for. There are three tests and the final exam. She replaces the final exam with the lowest test grade if you do better. Lots of oppurtunities to make your grade higher like extra homework/show your work assignments. Take this advantage!

My fourth online course. She is an amazing instructor; she is there anytime you need help. Adds lecture videos on canvas that makes stuff clear with some hints. You need extra day on homework / quizs?, yea she reopens them. She is on students' side; understands you and makes everything go smooth throughout the semester. I highly recommend her.

I took 1105 with her last term and now I am taking precalc. First week is a recall of 1105 and I see that I could remember all the details that Prof Tekin covered. I didnt know I did learned! What a lovely professor. She makes sure you understand the material and can make it understandable in the easiest way. Be prepared to ask why? Most of the time because she doesnt give formulas; she makes you to use common sense to find them in class. If you get why? then you use the same way for the rest. one strategy solves all for each section

I took her online course. 1033 is hard but her orginized modules helped me a lot to prepare for tests. She sends daily announcements so no chance to get behind. The lecture videos are also helpful. Explains math concepts very well, and I feel she has helped me lay a solid foundation for my future math classes. I will be taking the sequence up to Calculus 3.

I'll start with that I will probably never be good at math. With that being said, I did not enjoy this class; however, this professor is a great professor. I took her online and still felt she was always available for me. Tons of work. No textbook. A week would include 3-4 vocab&concept quizzes, 4 material quizzes, 2 homeworks each 45 problems

Tekin is very sweet and will help you in any way she can. She gives extra credit on tests for perfect attendance and for getting help from the tutors in the math lab on projects. The quizzes can be difficult, but you usually get 10 attempts. Just come to class and ask for help when you need it and you will do well with her.

I could not have done this without this professor. Although I didn't get a C i am not a math person I still passed or what's considered passed with a D+ to move onto the next math course. She's nice and is willing to work with you. What a gem!

She is really good at giving an introduction to college level algebra that is as painless and gentle as possible, while providing many tips, tricks, and different methods to assist you. She's a really good professor! I didn't learn math until I took her, honestly. She explains lectures very well and goes through every single step. She gives 5 extra points on your tests if you have perfect attendance also! Tests are in class and are fairly hard, but she over prepared us for the final exam.

Professor Tekin is a really lovely person. She really cares for you and that you understand. It is easy to undestand when she teaches during and outside the class. And sometimes she would draw for you to make things clearer and to see ''the big picture''. But always listen to her and try not to get distracted.

This prof will set you up well for future math courses. Her handouts are good to keep and they helped me as a review during Precal class. In Calculus I now and missing Tekin. If she taught the Calc series, I'd build my schedule around her classes. Best prof I've ever had.

Professor makes learning the material very simple, even for a math dunce like me. She is very caring and understands why you might need an extension. Be ready for a lot of homework, as their are between 3 and 8 assignments every week, but if you know the material it isn't hard. She also includes a downloadable textbook free of charge.

She is my favorite professor for math. I have a hard time learning math but she is always good at breaking down the problems and answering questions is class. A LOT of homework so get ready for that.

She is fantastic! She was quick to answer emails every time I had a question, no matter what that question was. I had not taken a math course in 9 years, and she made the process easy. Although the course load seems like a lot when you look at the syllabus, many of the assignments listed are duplicates so that she can drop lowest grades.

Really really liked this class! Not sure how she did it, but somehow she made me want to be in class and do math with my team each day. She explained things well also helped me through the hard parts when I wanted help. I took Professor Tekin as online math teacher which I was nervous about because I am not that great at math, but the workload was very do-able (2 quizzes, 2 vocab quizzes, and 2 HW assignments due weekly). All quizzes can be retaken up to 20 times!!! The test reviews were not exactly the test, but did provide all the skills you need for the test.

I took 1105 last term and failed! It was bacause I was working like crazy and couldnt manage my time. It was my fault to receive F and I am so thankful Ms Tekin encouraged me entire term. I register for her again this term and will put my energy on course. She cares!

She is very good at teaching and she has empathy. I studied for three days with maybe 2 hours of sleep. When it was time to take the test I went blank. Prof Tekin not only encouraged me, but she also looked at ways to give extra credit. She knows who tried and who played around. She will always be to me the perfect math professor.

For the majority of people, math is a scary topic to tackle, but Professor Tekin makes the material very clear in her lectures. Each chapter she provided final exam review questions which REALLY helped when it came time to take the final. There is a fair amount of hw but it does help learn exactly what you need for tests.

She is the first professor or teacher to make me actually like math and feel confidence in myself and she will work with you to make sure you understand the material .

The easiest math class I have taken yet. My second time taking MAT1033 and I am glad I changed professors. Tekin was much better, with simple homework and quizzes due every week. Her tests were the same material. She offers retakes as well. Overall great professor!

This professor made this class so easy. She was fair with grading. If you study this is an easy A. Shes always willing to help with any questions. Beware your grade is heavily based on the 3 unit tests and your final, dont do well on those and youll be in trouble.

Coursework: 3 tests and a final (proctored), multiple attempts on weekly homework and quizzes to make sure you understand the material, fun/engaging power-points (I took this class online). She is a great professor and person. I was with her in MAC1033 and MAC 1105, she knows how to teach very good, her method is really good and if you have a problem she is very flexible, you have a lot of extra credits during the semester. You will have . a lot of homework but it is the only way to learn and her homework is very useful.

She is a great professor but just get ready for a lot of homework. The homework is online and there is also textbook hw that you have to turn in by each test. There is also one project per test. She explains the lessons pretty well, but she does not cancel class at all.

Professor Tekin's MAC1105 is not a breeze, but she sets you up for success. She is a perfect intro to college-level math classes. She has an accent but that didn't bother me at all. She has a good sense of humor, and allows her students to chime in during class. She inspired me to pursue more math classes, and I am now an Engineering student at UF.

If you have a busy schedule I would not recommend this class, has a lot of deadlines. She allows a test retake and you can retake quizzes and even drops lowest quiz, and homework grades. The tests are easy as long as you do the review. Tekin emails students back when we have questions, and listens to our concerns.

I took her class and easy A!!! If you skip the class you cant pass you need to pay attention. Just do hmw you are good to go :)

Professor Tekin is a great teacher. She explains things in a way that's easy to comprehend and she is very caring. She came back to the college to proctor an exam for me because I had a scheduling conflict during the original time, and she allowed my son to sit in during the last final review so that I could attend. Prof. Tekin is a great person and professor. Although in the semester I had with her, it seemed as if she was going through some personal issues, she still found a way to help her students as much as she could. Overall for a college class, the amount of work assigned was quite a bit but if you like to procrastinate then thats on you not the teacher

I've found out that math is lovely and it depends on how you are taught. She's hilarious also down to earth, paying attention your point of view if you only attend for credits or you really want to learn. The way she teaches reputable and she has a humble personality. Professor Tekin Gonca is a good teacher. As a foreigner student, I feel her teaching is very easy to understand. If you don't finish homework on time, you can tell her and she is willing to open it again. Her lectures in the paper were mostly played in the test. 10/10 highly recommend taking this class!

I took the hybrid class, don't expect her to teach she's just there if you have questions. You learn on your own and through the videos. She gives assignments every week that in points are very low but very helpful for the tests. 3 test one final. You only have to be in class for 50min a week for credit. Online assignments super easy. Two retakes.

If you are good at math or may understand and pick up things from videos and on your own this class is perfect you can get ahead, you don't go to a lecture she does not give class you basically just go to the math studio and she walks around asking if you need any help. She gives practice test which are exactly as the real tests. Self thought clas

Took her for Spring A, so it was a faster paced class by default. I felt it was relatively easy to keep up with if you showed up to most of the classes and asked questions. Professor Tekin was always willing to put herself in a students place while teaching a lesson. All in all, a good professor for a decently fast paced class.

She breaks things down! Ive taken her for 2 of my math classes and if I could take her for all of them I would! I understand math now because of her. If she sees you are trying she will help you 100% you just have to show effort. People have issue with her accent but she speaks English just fine.
