I took this before they started Internet quizzes, but the lectures were fascinating. People were too lazy to study, and a lot failed, so they began the quiz system. However, this is one of the easiest classes you'll take, if you'll just study!

Easy class if you have a few hours every night to spend on this class alone. The prof isn't the friendliest guy, but not the worst I've had. This class just depends on how much time you want to spend. And the quizzes totally suck the life out of you.

I loved his class. He was very helpful to the few people who actually daned to show up for class. He flat out gave you the answers to the test if you showed up and did the work. He also gave great lectures, he is really fun!

Eventho the quizes are required for my class, they were pretty easy and actually helped with the exams

This class was so much fun! Dr. Hodge really knows how to engage students, even in a class with 600 people. I was impressed.

This class is a breeze. Sure you have to take some time consuming quizes on WebCT, but the are not terribly hard. Others have voiced their opinions about not learning, but quite frankly you get out of your learning what you put into it.

Dr. Hodge is good at interacting all 850 of us with his sense of humor... You can tell he comes from all angles when he is explaining.

I thought it was a very easy class. Dr. Hodge had a great sense of humor and his powerpoint presentations werent all that bad to watch or look at. The quizzes did take up time but did help in preparing me for the exams which were a breeze if the quizzes were done. He was also willing to meet with me to determine which classes to take the following semester since my major is psychology. He's a nice person and great professor.

His power-points are awesome and his lectures are really cool. The many quizzes are time consuming, but he gives so much extra credit that its so easy to get an 'A'.

easy, easy, easy if you take the quizzes 7 billion times. but i loved the lectures - very engaging! - a great intro class. if the class had 50 people instead of 900, it would be a great class. hodges is very funny and well-educated.

very cool teacher, easy to understand and knows his subject. keeps everyone (900 students) interested the material being presented. cares a lot for the students success, and is willing to help. online tests take time but if you do them they will help you so much on the tests.

His lectures were really interesting! Really easy if you devote a lot of time to the quizzes, which make up the exams. Guaranteed A if you study.

Do all the work in his class and the tests will come easy to you, but if you fall to far behind in the work it is hard to recover.

This is class was seriously probably the mos time consuming class i've ever taken. I did learn a good amount but that only because you take the damn quizzes 30 times for each test and one test a week. It wasn't exactly easy but hey it wasn't a total waste of time.

although it was very EASY to get a good grade, it took up HUGE amounts of time in order for it. There were about 3-5 online quizzes that you had to do each week and you could keep taking until you got the perfect grade, but every time you took it you got new questions out of one large pool of Q's. Weekly exams were made out of the Q's from quizzes.

Don't need a book, just take the online quizzes 'till you get 20's. Hodge can get angry sometimes but who wouldn't with a class of 700 freshman. Most of the time he's just fine.

I enjoy his teaching style, even though he seems like a condescending man. He teaches freshman and treats us like freshman. I did just fine without his quizzes, although they are mandatory. I learned so much more in this class than in all of my other classes combined. If you enjoy learning, take Dr. Hodge's class.

Ok yes his quizzes suck and no way did everyone sit there and waste their time trying to actually learn. Just memorize the quizzes and you're set.

The quizzes are too repetitious and ultimately pointless. I received around a 65% average on the quizzes, but pulled through by getting >90 on almost all tests. Easy points on the tests. Hodge's teaching involves 15 minutes every class explaining the importance of quizzes which is worthless and time consuming, and actual lecture is too simple

Overall, a pretty easy and interesting class. Professor Hodge gives good examples that make the information stick with you, so it is worth attending lecture. The quizzes do not take that much time as long as you do well. His personality is great but even if he was the jerk everyone says he is, it has no effect on how much you learn in this course.

Interesting professor. His lectures are very structured and on-topic. He prefers to use online quizzes rather than the book, but students are allowed to retake quizzes for a better grade. Overall good class, if you are willing to invest some time retaking and studying the quizzes.

very easy yet interesting

Hodge is probably the most entertaining speaker you will find at any university. It is extremely easy to get an A+ in his class due to the 25% automatic extra credit given on all his exams. The quizes ae a pain but not as bad as having to memorize all the information on your own. Take this class. its interesting and an easy A+.

Dr. Hodge is a great professor. I think students give negative comments about him because they come from High School where they basically have to do nothing. This class is good preperation for study habits in other classes, especially sophomore and junior level psychology classes. I'm a TA and he is a very friendly man who cares about the course.

Its an easy A, but he doesn't teach anything. He says taking the quizzes is enough, I didn't think so. Read the book to, especially if you want to major in psychology.

EASY A... period. You wont need the professor for much really, the class is based on lecture participation and taking quizzes. You can keep taking the quizzes till you get a 100% except for final exams. Extra credit is always given out every week. No reason for anyone to not get an A. Too easy!

yeah, the class was an easy A and the quizzes were the most important for getting a good grade. He is a good teacher and you can tell he cares a lot about making the class great for the 700+ students. He will prepare freshman and others who take his class by instilling good techniques for studying and retaining information.

Aside from his speeches on taking the quizzes, I really enjoyed his lectures. If you have any sort of intelligence, than you can understand his humor. I looked forward to his lectures because they were usually quite funny. Its an easy A but also a fun class to go to.

Take the quizzes about 10 times each and attend class for the participation points, but otherwise, there is no need to read the book and you will get an A+

you will find him funny and entertaining as long as you don't act like an idiot in his class because he will call you out on it. Material was easy as long as you did the online quizzes numerous times, because the quiz questions are the same as the test questions. TA's are useless, but you probably won't even need them.

This class is a breeze. Sure Hodge is annoying because he goes over how to read the calendar EVERY SINGLE DAY, and makes really corny jokes. However I had over a 100% at the end of this class. There were countless extra credit opportunities. The quizzes were time consuming, but you could take them however many times you wanted. Great GPA boost

It is clear that Dr. Hodge hopes to reach the majority of his students in a very large classes. I still think he is a great professor, especially if you go talk to him in his office hours. He has a good sense of humor and a willingness to help those interested in the subject. I enjoyed this class and others I took with him after this one.

This class is structured for the student to possibly achieve a final score of 110%. His lectures are fairly entertaining and his slides have "production value". There is a lot of online homework, but its not challenging. If you do the homework, its literally impossible not to get an A in this class.

It's an extremely easy class to take if you make sure to go to the lectures and do the online homework. Even if you don't go to most of the classes, you can make up your participation points online. If you have any questions, the TAs are extremely easy to get a hold of and schedule appointments with. It's impossible to not make at least a B.

Excellent professor! I loved this class and the online portion helped tremendously. Supposedly, Dr. Hodge created his slideshow method of teaching that reduced the dropout in intro psych dramatically. Awesome class.

Hodge was funny. If you keep up with the quizzes, you will do fine. The class is huge so he needs to have a bunch of TAs. And they are very help full. If he teaches anyother classes, I would take it!

Class was pretty chill. had to go everyday because of iclicker points. But it's not and usually interesting. Gives tons of extra credit so use it up and you'll get an A.

This class is an easy A if you have the time to dedicate to reading the text, taking the quizzes multiple times, and studying for the weekly tests. He tells you that you just need to take the quizzes, which is not true. Many questions on tests were straight from material in the text. Lectures are interesting and informational. Recommend

People are complaining about all the work you have to do for the class but hello people we are in college. And besides, the homework is ALL online!! Professor Hodge is good and with 900 students in the class he still found the timet to help me out personally so props for that. This was my favorite class freshmen year! He was a good lecturer!

SUPER easy as long as you do the work. I got 109% in the class & that was my only A that semester. I only did the quizzes (about 10 times) & went to the lectures which is mandatory for participation. Reading the chapters helps if you have the time. This was the BEST class i have taken, it was very interesting & i was asked to be a student TA.

I hate this teacher. I hate going to his class, he's so mean to his students; he kept singling them out! In the beginning of the class, he would spend a good 15 minutes on lecturing us about electronic usages. It was so annoying. everything is online, so all the quizzes, tests& exams were online. If there wasn't clicker pts, i wouldn't go to class

I absolutely despise this man, his very existence annoys me; HOWEVER, his class is probably the easiest class anyone could ask for. Taking it online is even better. Take the quizzes and read the text and you're good to go. Minimal effort class and easy A for your GPA.

Best damn class I ever took. fell like kicking the asses of everyone that bad mouths this professor. He acts tough because in lecture classes people don't respect the teacher and talk away. This is the easiest class I have taken counting finger painting in college. I highly recommend this class

The guy's got a good outlook on life, he doesn't take things too seriously. He's also a realist, and calls it how he sees it, but don't expect to agree with everything he says. He breaks things down and says "look, this is all it is. Forget about this that and the other, and heres what you need." In the end you realize how much you've learned!

Best damn teacher at UNM, by far. If you love psychology, I highly recommend Dr. Hodge. He is brilliant and gives a lot of work but the course is 100% worth it. I learned more in this class than I did in any other psychology class.

I think Dr. Hodge is a great professor, though he may be a bit quirky, he knows the material and presents it well to 700+ students the best he can, in fun, engaging powerpoints.

It's an easy class, but be prepared to spend a lot of time on it. Don't fall behind, otherwise it will be difficult to catch up. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Overall, Hodge is an incredible instructor and has done well in presenting his course. I don't see how students get so hurt over Dr. Hodge's teaching style. He uses "singling out" to get the class on task. If students were able to stay on task, he wouldn't have to. Stay home if you don't want to pay attention to a class others have paid for.

AMAZING. Gordon's a really personable guy and will help you through this class. Gave lots of extra credit and made the class really fun. I use to hate psychology in highschool, but I'm so glad I took this class from him.

The class is ALOT of work. If you get behind on the quizzes, you have to work really hard to catch up. He really made psychology fun though. And he's great about meeting you if you can't make his officer hurs. Truly wants you to succeed, he's the ideal instructor.

Dr. Hodge's lectures are very interesting and he puts a lot of work into his presentations. Getting an "A" is easy, but pretty time-consuming. Overall, I think he is a good teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed his class.

Gordon's a good guy, he really wants you to succeed and makes plenty of opportunities. The quiz thing is a bit weird, but it worked. He leaves the quizzes open to retake(limitless)until the end of semester, and since they're worth over 1/3 of your grade, tons of extra cred(about 10% overall) there's no reason you should fail. Just read the syl.

Psych 105 was the easiest and most enjoyable class.Yeah, you have to take 3 quizzes and a test each week. But, seriously I never even started them until the day they were due and I got an A+ in the class. Not all material is covered in class (duh). If the quizzes aren't helping you comprehend, then you should read the side sections of the book..

I absolutely loved this class. It was extremely easy and Dr. Hodge was so available if I had questions. The only people who hated his class were the people he called out for being disrespectful in class. I took the class with many of my friends, we sat in the front row, and we had a total blast with the teacher. Participate and you succeed.

Dr. Hodge is a great professor and his lectures are really interesting. You get participation through iclicker questions in class, so go to class! There are three quizzes for practice every week and a test due every week. Keep up with those and it will be one of the easiest classes you will ever take. You get out of it what you put into it.

This class is very good. Most of the work is online. I recommend that do the quizzes as many times as possible to get a good grade. The work is easy if you just do the quizzes. I highly recommend this class.

Dr Hodge is an amazing professor. He is highly entertaining and the work is easy, just take the quizzes. If anyone has a complaint about the class it is because they didn't take the quizzes enough. He is so funny I spent the entire time in every lecture laughing.

Gordon's a great professor! I took the class online. I almost never listened to lectures or did the learn-smart quizzes. I read the chapter definitions, took the mastery quizzes as many times as it took to score in the 90s. It's a heavy amount of work, but it's not hard. Take the quizzes many times, and do ALL the extra credit, you'll do well!

I took Dr. Hodge this past summer 2014 semester online. I loved this class. He is a great instructor. It was a lot of work but he offers so many points that you can earn very easily. I got an A+ in this class. It was so interesting as well. Do the quizzes- they really help you learn. I wish all my classes were structured like that.

Requirements of this class are clear as day. And the online tool makes it incredibly more engaging and easy to study. Great professor.

Good and helpful introductory class. Mostly he will give lectures and will expect you to do many quizzes. He is clear in grading and will give you extra credit as well. If you attend the class and do good work getting an A is not a big challenge. I recommend his class.

Everyone seems to not like this class but now thinking about it I enjoyed it. It's the only class I feel like I learned something and got a easy A. The lectures seemed really long and pointless though. Did everything online maybe recommend the online course because it's basically that. If you slack off you won't do fine but hey it's college lol

Keep track of the online due dates, and you'll do fine. Even if you miss a quarterly exam or chapter test, you have the opportunity to retake them. The lectures were random and pretty much pointless, but go to them because of the participation points. There is a lot of extra credit though. Overall it was easy.

Overwhelming at first but great overall class, easy but busy work. Online quizzes every week. Don't fall behind and you will be fine. Lectures are very interesting and you get points for attending. He gives out extra credit points to everyone attending on days before breaks or holidays so be there. TAs are there to help so make time to see them.

I took his class online during winter break, yeah that was a really bad idea. If you are going to take his class, take it during the regular 16 week semester or else you will spend 2-3 hours a day during break trying to complete this class. The class isnt too hard, just very time consuming.

He method of teaching is very different but once you catch on it's very easy to succeed in this class. If you do as he instructs you will do great. Very personable and answers emails right away. It is time consuming so you do have to dedicate time to this class. My only complaint is that it takes a while to figure out his syllabus.

This was a fun class, I took it in the summer and it was tough just because of all of the work. The instructor can be winded but is very detailed. I would take many more classes from him.

I took the online class, and as long as you do the assignments and assessments you will do fine, you can take the quizzes as many times as you want and can retake the tests. Easy A.

Psych was really easy. I feel like Hodge really explained things very well even though the curriculum for the class was really awkward. It was really easy in general getting an A+, however I learned the most by reading the book and going to the lectures. Besides, Hodge is really funny, he sometimes cusses.

Hodge can be pretty grumpy, and he has a tendency to call people out if they are disrupting his class even in the slightest. Easy A, but you MUST DO THE QUIZES (he can't stress this enough)

Dr. Hodge is a fun teacher. You have to take a lot of online quizzes for his 105 class, but as long as you read they are easy. His lectures are very interesting, too!

Loves to hear himself talk. Gets off-topic really easily. You will have to take a lot of tests and quizzes, but the work itself is easy enough. You get points for attending class and answering questions with an iclicker, but I ditched a lot and still got an A, so just be mindful of that.

There are many quizzes, but they are quite brainless. His results from his classes are part of a study so he does not allow students to have cellphones or laptops out. The quizzes don't take much time and is my easiest homework. It's because they're meant to teach you. Lecture is interesting if you like PSYCH, if not, it might bore you.

Blatant stupidity is not tolerated by Hodge, but if you are willing to listen and pay attention, you'll learn a lot.

The class is pretty interesting but the way he works is he has you take a bunch of quizzes, so it gets rather tedious. His lectures are good and he gives extra credit for showing up sometimes, so as long as you do the minimum of what's expected of you, you'll get an A.

Easy class just a lot of work.

He was pretty great and I loved his slides they were really interesting and keep me focused during class. But the only thing I have to say negative is that when time is starting to run out he may speak a little too quick to write down the slides and listen at the same time.

Hodge often gets a bad rap because he is very against electronics in class, but he genuinely cares about everyone doing well in the class. There is so much extra credit available that it should be easy to pass. Lots of quizzes but the lectures are fun and interesting and I really enjoyed his powerpoints.

There was a good amount of homework but it was never hard. He made the class easy to get an A in and really cared.

For students that are just going after C: you will not pass, or it will take way longer time than you expected. For REAL students that are here in college for study and good grade: Almost Guaranteed A+, learned a lot from lecture and good for people that don't like group work!

Good class as long as you do the quizzes you will be fine he gives lots of extra credit unless you slack off you shouldn't have trouble also there's usually a test each week but it's online and easy, also 3 quizzes that you must take 6 tines each per test and 4 quarterly exams and 4 research reports or experiments.

His class is honestly really easy to pass. Would definitely recommend buying a paper version of the textbook. Bring a tablet to class so you can do the quizzes while he is lecturing. 10/10 recommend going to every lecture, at least once a week he would have like "double point" iClicker questions which really do benefit your grade.

Hodge is a good Professor, but there is a lot of homework every week. As long as you keep up with the work and attend lectures you will pass with a good grade.

The class is pretty easy to get an A as long as you do all the quizzes on time and don't forget to do the tests. All the quizzes are online and in person is the lecture. He counts participation by using a clicker so try not to skip (or just give your clicker to a friend). The lectures are pretty bs tho eventually no one pays attention.

Great professor, the quizzes helped a ton of course there gonna be memorization based, if you just read a textbook your just practically memorizing and guessing what would be on the test anyways these quizzes were so helpful. Showed really interesting videos and very kind to anyone who would go up to him and ask him anything I noticed

This class was primarily a lecture class. Since it was online I watched recorded lectures from his class. He does a great job of explaining and making things interesting. He can be a pretty funny guy too! Homework quizzes are time-consuming but as he always says: they definitely work.

Attendance isn't required, but the clicker points are a lot of points towards your grade.

The quizzes are very helpful when you take the chapter exam, he is a great lecturer and I loved his class.

This professor grades you mostly off of tests and quizzes. The answers are given to you so its just a matter of memorizing them. Tbh I didnt find this class that difficult and would recommend to others.
