taking him for British Literature II right now for summer A 2005 and its SOOOOOOOO easy and hes an awesome teacher. all he does it talk and watch movies. we take quizzes but its based on his lecture. we can use our notes and books for the quizzes. took him for ENC1102 and hes awesome too. i recommend him for ENC1102 and ENL2022 (British Lit II).

Wonderful teacher. I was once afraid of Shakespeare, but this professor makes it so easy to understand. He is personable and very willing to help you. He's kind of funny too. The class is easy, but you will still learn a thing or two- if you want to that is. Quizzes are open book/notes.

Easy going teacher. Can be funny but talks A LOT about everything!! Most of his classes are lectures, with essays to write but there is plenty of time. Easy to talk to. Very nice and sings!

(Honors Class).. Good professor. Gives grade you really deserve. Explains well. VERY INTELLIGENT. My only problem with him was he was full of foul words, stuff u wouldn't expect from a teacher. Even though he says he's allowed to express himself freely, I don't think it's professional to be so loose in class.

Awesome awesome awesome teacher! Highly recommended for ANYTHING he teaches. Intro to Shakespeare was a BREEZE! The in-class short essays are quite easy and he reviewed RIGHT before he gave them. He was an amazing teacher, he talks a lot, but its all in good interest! Musican in the past w/ very interesting stories, writing was a breeze, I got an A, and learned a lot at the same time. Sometimes he says the same jokes, but there still always funny, take him for a good time and an A!

What a rambler! You learn interesting random facts though, completely irrelevant to the class. He's a funny guy, he knows his history. Sometimes boring but oh well. Barely uses book, just assigns papers once in a while. Easy A. Takes attendance and warns you if you're absent or late a lot he'll lower your class grade but overall he doesnt care.

he loves to talk!! even though half of his ramblings have nothing to do with the class, 99% of his (lengthy)speeches are very funny and interesting! very very very easy, not a lot of work at all, very few (and simple) essays. i highly reccomend him.

He is very intelligent, loves his books. He gives 1 @ home research paper and a few in class writing assignments that are VERY easy and his grading scale for the in class is awesome. I got an A in the class, the book is needed for a few assignments & in class reading. Runs on about personal stuff alot but knows his stuff too. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Excellent teacher, very helpful, took him in the summer had to do one at home simple paper and 2 in class assignments. Very funny, takes tardiness very seriously;you have 2 get 2 class on time.Assignments are not hard but he is serious about grading,compared w other 1102 classes , this one was an easy A.Take him & u will learn about music also.

Biggest joke ever! the first few weeks is actually on literature...but after that we have spent most of the time going over lyrics. And if you pick a classic rock song from the 70's/80's, your pretty much his favorite student. Has an attendance rule that if your late it counts against you but if you don't show up, its ok. Only show up half the time

he is the best english teacher in the dept. awesome guy. his class was so laid back and fun. we would just sit in class and talk on purpose. he called it brainstorming. hes in a band and he writes music. HE IS SOOO FUN

Prof. Maddison is the best teacher I've ever had. He has a lot of funny jokes and I laughed even though I was exhausted and had class at 8 AM. We wrote maybe four or five essays and he grades easy. I got an A+ on my first paper and all of them after that. You watch a movie that is really good and write a paper in it. Class is good. TAKE HIM!

Easy class but professor is known to go off on random tangents and tends to get a little boring. If class is one day a week, don't take it because it's too long. Movies are watched a lot and most of the quizzes are take-home but if you're prone to fall asleep in class, this class isn't for you. He's helpful and nice but just a bit odd.

This class has to be one of the easiest A's you can get in your life!! all you do is watch movies and have a take home quiz on it or maybe in class!! If you get anything less than a B just drop out of school.

For anybody who wants an easy A this is the class to take..You only have for papers that only have to be from 500-700 words..how easy is that??!!!! This is a great class to take if you need to raise your GPA

Great class. Just have conversations where he does most of the talking so all you have to do is listen to get an A. 2 in- class essays and 1 take home essay. Super easy. No midterm and one in-class essay as a final. If you can spell and use punctuation marks in the right places then you're about to get an easy A. Class was relaxing, never nervous

Very Nice Professor, i learned a lot about the time of Shakespeare and what life was like in England then. He is British himself. I actually got to learn about plays of Shakespeare i didn't even know existed and fell in love with 2 of them, It is a good class to take to learn about the subject. His exams are essay questions about the plays.

This class was awesome! Prof. Maddison was funny and mad easy! He comes in lectures and you take the notes obviously! Next class is movie day and the next class is test day (3questions, open book open notes). That's the whole routine! TAKE HIM! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

never used a textbook. There's 5 papers, 3 in class, 2 out. In class papers are open..everything. He's so easy, if you don't get an A in his class you should go into construction.

One of the best professors I've had so far he is an easy grader only like 3 essays most of them are in class no final and does not require any book hes great knows his stuff definetely recomend!!!

He's a pretty cool guy who tends to talk a lot but he does know a lot about music. There's about 3 or 4 essays that you do in this class and most of them are done in class. If your looking for an easy grade then I'll recommend taking him.

Gordon is the best teacher I've ever had. He gave me A's in all of his classes I have taken. Go to class, listen, try your best, don't bs your papers but really try, and you'll get an A. He isn't hard as long as your a good student. You watch a lot of movies and Shakespeare is actually interesting. I love professor maddison

I loved the Shakespeare class and it was so easy. He'd give us a synopsis of a play, then we'd watch it, talk about it, and take a 3-question quiz. He's really down to earth and funny. I loved it. Got an A!

Really good instructor. He doesn't stand up in front of the class and lecture, he's very easy going and loves to talk. Easily side-tracked. Class discussions happen every class about the topics you write about in class and at home. Only 2 at-home and 3 in-class writing assignments. Topics are very broad. Easy A. Very easy grader.

He is THE BEST prof you can take for 1101 and 1102. He is funny and he has lived a lot of crazy adventures so his conversations are always so much fun. He always seems to lead the class into interesting discussions about the most random subjects, and that's very fun. He has no tests and will always let you re-write papers for a higher grade.

I am taking this class this summer, so the first thing I thought was, "Fantastic! I have to wake up at 7:00am every morning". But this class is worth it. He is logical and keeps up with the society we live in today. Makes fun of stupidity and is an over-all fun teacher. He loved music, and loves discussing it. He also loves intelligence!

He is great! He gives you chances to fix your papers and will work with you. He really cares for his students. This class is an easy A as long as you stay on top of your papers. The papers assigned were nothing out of the ordinary.

Prof. Maddison is a wonderful professor who wants to see his students succeed. He is very funny. Just write your essays and if you don't like the grade you earned, he gives you a chance to rewrite it and get a better grade. I'm taking him again in the fall ( ENC1102)

Great professor. Made it very clear from the beginning that he wanted all of his students to succeed and to pass his class. Essay topics were straight forward and mostly about culture. He would get off topic a lot but he would always engage with the class about real world issues. I'm taking him next semester for 1102 :)

Great guy. There are about 6 papers 3 in-class 3 at-home and they're the only grades. All are prepped for you while in class. The best part is if you made a lot of errors on your essays he lets you rewrite them for a higher grade, and ALL of the rewrites can be handed in at the end of the semester. Show up and don't be late, takes points off.

professor Gordon is a simple class, we had 5 assignments due all year 3 in the class and 2 at home. Most of the time he shows videos and better writing tips in class. He takes attendance the first 8 weeks after that you can miss a few days.

Love him, he doesn't make you do the online writing lab also allows you to re-write papers until you are satisfied with your grade he does get a little off topic in class but take the time and do the essays while he talks

Class is very easy, he lets your rewrite papers if you got a bad grade on them, so as long as you aren't mega lazy you'll be fine. His lectures do tend to be off topic and for a 16 week class it felt like some classes were just him rambling for an hour. Attendance is so-so , and he is a nice guy. Don't miss in class writing days and you'll be fine.

Best English professor. I took him for 1101 and 2. He is so funny in class and you will learn things. It helps going to class with a fun professor. He does allow rewrites on essays just don't miss an inclass essay and don't show up tardy.

If you dont want/like ENC 1101 & 1102 accelerated and/or blended, then this is the prof for you. 5 papers- 3 in class, 2 at home. Allows you to redo 2 in class papers/1 at home paper for better grade. Lets class out early most days, and occasionally shows movies. Wish I could take him for LIT 2000.

This professor is one of the most caring and intelligent professors I have had the luck of taking at Broward College! He truly wants to see his students learn and succeed not only in college but in life. He shares a ton of knowledge on all different subjects and I felt like I learned so much in this class! Dont show up late!!

This professor is amazing and one of the few I feel that really want to see students learn not just about English but about life! He lets you rewrite papers to improve your grade is funny and not boring like so many of the other professors I have had. Participate be ON TIME and you will learn a lot in this course!

Amazing professor! Took him two semesters back to back. Only grades are the papers and he lets you redo them as much as you need to get a good grade. Hes funny and makes you want to go to his class. Class is not hard at all take him.

He's a really good funny and caring teacher. You can redo the first 3 essays that you got bad grade in for a better grade. There is no exam in the class and there is no mid-term exam. But he does go of topic a lot.

This guy is a cool dude. Told great stories and was always super chill. However, if you do come late to class a lot, he would lower your final grade. Professor Maddison was a great professor. He had 3 writing assignments in class and 2 research assignments. None of the assignments are very long. He's a great professor and allows you to make rewrite essays. I highly recommend his class, it's easy going and interesting.

I took him for both 1101 and 1102 and he's the best professor to take! He lets you redo all of your assignments unlimited times until you can get an A. Both classes he doesn't have a midterm or final, easiest class to take!

Although he lets you redo your papers to get an A, most of your in-class time will be spent listening to him ramble on about unrelated topics. I would say you need a good amount of background knowledge to get a good grade first try. He doesn't really teach the basics. If you're looking for a refresher course- steer clear.

Yes, he does talk all class and ramble, jumping from topic to topic, however, he is just waiting for students to engage. He is the type of professor that would never make a student feel stupid or uncomfortable. 4.0 student here

there IS NO MIDTERM OR FINAL. he DOES TEACH AND LETS YOU REDO ALL YOUR PAPERS TILL THE END OF THE SEMESTER. And he gives you feedback on how to redo them to get 100. No textbook required.

Great professor to have! During our semester, we were sent home due to the ongoing CoVID-19 pandemic. Professor Maddison was very understanding and knew that this was a very unusual semester, so he did his best to accommodate and make it easy for us during our online Blackboard meetings. I took him for English 1 and this will be my overall review!!!! He thinks he knows everything, hell correct you over one simple thing, which to me is annoying. No midterm or final! Just 5 essays. Hes very helpful BUT can talk a lot. I also loved the topics for eng 1 rather than for eng 2

Interesting guy. He lectures a lot and tends to go on tangents that are unrelated to the topic. He likes to answer students questions and will spend 30 minutes answering them. If you're not already a strong writer, I don't recommend him. His criteria is a little unclear and grades harshly. Only good part is that he allows rewrites for all papers.

Professor Maddison is such an amazing professor! The lectures are super easy and he explains everything very well and he always there to answer questions. The essays were easy as long as you followed the directions. Not a tough grader at all! He is always willing to help.

This was a really good class, when writing he will give you a layout and if you follow his instructions you are guaranteed an A.

I took Professor Madison for a 6-week course during the summer for ENC1101. We wrote around 4-6 papers and he always allowed us to resubmit for a higher grade. So long as you show him you care about your grade, hell bump your grade up. He just wants effort.
