Very smart man. Faithfully give assinments weekly.Must stay on top of doing all assignments in order to pass the class. I dont think I would want to take him for chem II. I feel he would be too detailed therfore making the class hard.

I love Dr Sathy. If anyone can teach chemistry, it's Dr Sathy! He's great, you must do your part, he does not hand out grades. He does break topics down into easier bits, and you must do your part, study and homework. If you plan on taking chem 1 to organic i would take him.

Dr. Sathy clarifies everything clearly and if you don't understand, he will take his time to ensure everyone does! Took him for chem 1, now currently chem 2. Definitely recommend Dr. Sathy. Dr. Sathyamoorthi is AMAZING. He is very intelligent, and I respect that about him. Chemistry is a hard subject, however Dr. Sathyamoorthi made it very easy. It is important that you go to class everyday and stay on task with everything. Overall, I would say take Dr. Stayamoorthi. He is #1!

Dr. Sathy is a good teacher. I think that I would have benefited more from his class if I had not taken it online. It was difficult to get to his office hours because I worked full time during the day. Overall, I came out with a B, but I truly believe that I would have had an A if I was in the actual classroom.

Doctor Sathy is great! He is very concise with his lectures, and is very clear about what he expects you to know on the tests. If there is ever something you don't understand in lecture, he may not spend forever explaining it in class, but he will go above and beyond in order to make sure you understand it after class and he does tutoring as well.

I struggled through the majority of the concepts that were presented in this class, however, Dr. Sathy made an effort to always be there for me when I had a question. (which was often) He is a very caring and helpful teacher who truly wants his students to succeed. I would not have passed Chemistry if it weren't for his teaching methods.

Summer semester with chemistry is hard. He did a good job teaching the material for Delgado standards, however I felt COMPLETELY unprepared going into the final ACS exam. My fault, it was in the syllabus to buy the ACS test book at the beginning of the semester, luckily he curves that exam.

Dr. Sathy is a good teacher and a good person. For the online class he is very hands off if you choose to be. Weekly homework and discussion assignments make the bulk of your participation. Unit tests are no BS, no fluff. If you understand the concept of the chapter, you'll do fine. I felt prepared for the ACS after attending the review after class

I'm not a fan of Chemistry, but I loved this class. It was definitely challenging, but I made an A! You do have to study; if you understand the concept, you'll get it! He is a very caring, great listener, and would do anything to help you! I would recommend anyone to take his class!

Chem143 Lecture is a hard class but Dr. Sathy breaks it all down with easy to understand notes and lectures. He is always available to help you understand the concepts even if he's trying to grab a bite to eat btw classes. Awesome professor for a hard subject. Only requires book, no online code. Creates his own hw/reviews & makes time for students!

This lab was very interesting & as long as you show up and perform experiments you get full credit, even if u have to re-do it. Only gives midterm and final. All testing material comes from labs performed. Labs not overly long. Professor makes lots of jokes. Has an accent but easy to understand. GIves clear instructions and grades easy.

I took Chem 101 with Dr. Sathyamoorthi and loved every minute of it. The class was fantastic. The exams were well made and portioned appropriately. The instructor was funny, knowledgeable, and willing to help students. Class material was taught clearly and made the class enjoyable overall. I would strongly recommend this instructor.

Definitely enjoyed this class! Chemistry was challenging for me, but with the help of Mr Sathy, I was able to pass.. His expectations are high, but within reach. He is the type of teacher that will push you to do great things, because he loves to see others do well.. Not only is he a good teacher, but a good person.

Dr. Sathy is awesome! Chemistry may be a little difficult but he explains so well that you understand it. If you have any questions, he is there to answer with no problem at all. Took online and this class was hard for an elementary chem class. Professor sathy is a good teacher and will work with you in his office or you can sit in one of his classes if you have time. He gives extra credit. The grade you get is what you earn. I will add that the 11 chapter study guide we had for final didn't prepare you for it.

Professor Govindarao Sathyamoorthi was very helpful and caring! I took CHEM 141 online, but I would not be able to get my knowledge and a good grade if professor Sathyamoorthi would not let his online students to come to the same regular class! Come to each class, do homework and you will be alright! Tests straight from study guide, do it!!!

Dr. Sathy is an excellent chemistry professor. He follows the textbook and gives homework based on the book as well as on his lectures. The homework prepares you well for his exams, and he is great at answering questions. He is patient, very intelligent, and affable. Delgado is very lucky to have him.

Took summer chem, I drove all the way from Slidell to the West Bank to take Dr. Sathy. Several people in the RN program with me recommended him. Definitely a great teacher. Clearly explains the material. If you pay attention and do as he instructs you can make an A in this class. Prepares you for the tests with homework and study guides so do them!

I also took Dr. Sathy for lab. You have to attend for lab obviously. He explains the lab procedure clearly, writes it on the board and then checks your outcomes. If you are struggling with anythign he will help. Before each test he does a class review of the test material where you can ask him to work out problems step by step! Take him!

I took this class online, but Dr. Sathy was very accommodating and willing to go out of his way to help out students. His exams and the homework were very straight forward. The lectures he uses for the online class (from other profs) aren't the best, but he posts really helpful videos. The (ACS) final was long and harder than his other exams.

I took Dr Sathy's online class for Chem141 in the short summer semester. It was a tough subject (for me), in a condensed timeline, but very doable. Dr. Sathy was responsive on questions that I had and met with me after his class to review a few problems. The Chemistry tutor was also very helpful in the resource room. Highly recommend Dr Sathy!

He cares about each student. He provides study guides for every test and you have homework a almost once a week. He doesn't force you to buy the school text book but you must get some version of the text he goes over. Study your notes!

Professor Govindarao Sathyamoorthi is an outstanding Chem 101 teacher. The notes where spot on and easy to follow, followed up with Examples of worked problems that went along with each chapter. I also was able to attend his class for lecture even though i was in his online class. He makes chemistry easy to follow and learn.

Dr. Sathy is an amazing teacher who does exactly what he says he will do. He is strict on being on schedule. Class starts exactly on time and do not think that you will pass by not giving your all. He is only hard if you're not willing to put in the work to pass. DO all homework assignments and USE the study guides given to you.

Definitely one of the hardest classes that I have ever taken but Dr. Sathy was very informative. He is very knowledgeable in the subject and is accessible outside of class. If you have any questions or have any trouble understanding a topic he will take his time to make sure you understand. I will recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Sathy was recommended to me by a friend who took his class several years ago. The class was hard and required outside of class study. This is the lab that goes along with chem 141. I took Dr. Sathy for both lecture and lab. Highly recommend. Labs lasted between 90-120 minutes.

I made sure the register for his class based off of these reviews and Im so happy I did. He was a wonderful teacher! He was very quick to respond to emails and was more than happy to give extra help. He gave extra credit as well! Hes been by far the best teacher Ive had at Delgado.

I took Chem online, and I HATED it. Dr. Sathy teaches the same class in person and invited us to attend lectures. I couldn't, but I went to the final review, and the man is a teddy bear. He was clear, helpful, and interested in our success. I would not take his class online again, but I would definitely take another in-person class with him.

Gives graded homework so you actually learn the material. He keeps class notes on canvas for homework + review, posts study guides before tests. He cares about students learning and will answer all your questions. I drove from Slidell to Westbank, so worth it! I got the best chem prof at DCC. Go to class, do your homework, + study, youll do great!

Great online teacher

I took Dr. Sathy for chem 141 online and 143 lab and he is an awesome teacher. Also, once graded, he gives you the answers to the easy homework. He makes study guides for tests and gives extra credit. Labs were fun and easy, just follow his directions and turn lab reports by the due date. More than 5 reports were extra credit.

I am so happy I decided to take Dr. Sathy for CHEM 141, CHEM 143. He really cares and wants students to do well. He explains all the information really well and gives real-world explanations for things. He also gives pictorial representations for formulas which was super helpful. He takes the time to help you understand! Best chemistry teacher!

He gives homework to help you understand and if there isn't an assigned homework will still give your practice problems. He takes the time to make sure you really understand and is accessible for extra help. Go to lecture as he writes on the board and goes through all the steps of the problems so you understand.

Dr. Sathry is an excellent professor of Chemistry. As an older student, I expected to be challenged by this class. Despite purchasing the text, the content was in Canvas. Dr. Sathy explained each and every theory and formula thoroughly. His lab classes made the lecture class easier to understand. His homework & study guides help tremendously.

We didn't use the textbook very much since he is familiar with what is really needed to understand the material. Show up to class. I took Chemistry online due to my work schedule so I was extremely nervous about it. Dr. Sathy made himself available to his online students, and even invited us to sit in on his in class lectures and reviews for extra assistance. Organic chemistry itself is just a different concept to grasp, you must study the material to pass! He also takes his time to work with you because he understands that. I would definitely take him for organic chemistry II

Dr. Sathy is an absolute gem! I took him for gen chemistry and organic chemistry. He is clear with the expectations for the class and what will be covered in the exam. General chemistry was a breeze with him and I appreciated how accessible he was for office hours. He made organic much easier to understand and really prepared me for the ACS.

Dr. Sathy explains the basics needed to understand the material. Practice old homework problems to refresh. Mark things he says are important or that you will see later. He is willing to work with you if you've missed an assignment, just make sure to contact him and that he's received it.

I took Dr. Sathy for Chem 141 and 143 this semester. The lab is super easy. You just need to show up, do your work, and you will be fine. However, I won't recommend take the class online. Because it's really heavy.

Dr. Sathy is one of the best instructors I've had thus far. Once you are familiar to his accent, its smooth sailing. If you don't understand, let him know. He will do what he can to assist you. He's not book heavy. You do need to go to class, take good notes. Class participation helps a lot. You show a real effort, you"ll be fine.

Chem 2 is math-heavy, but luckily Dr. Sathy helps you focus on what's necessary to understand the ideas of the course with overloading you. Practice the math and do all your homework and tests should be easy to handle with a passing grade.

Extra Credit

Dr. Sathy is a great professor. I took organic I with him and it was awesome compared to the first time I took it with another professor. He's great and I would recommend him to all chemistry students.

He is patient, and will spend time with you if you have any questions. This is chemistry, so you REALLY have to study and practice to get it. I suggest you read the textbook before coming to class so you have a general idea of what you are about to learn. He posts extra videos and solved problems for clarity. He doesnt assign a lot of homework.

Dr. Sathy drops the lowest grade and gives extra credit, so if you end up with a B in his class it'll go up to an A!!!!!

He is a great teacher. I felt as though he payed attention to me as a students and asked me if I did not understand something. If you pay attention to the lecture and lab material given you will be fine, waiting till the last minute will not help you nor your grade.

This class was very detailed about what you needed to get the adequate grade on each lab. He was also very easy to get into contact with and cares about helping his students understanding chemistry. He is also very lenient with grading, if you 4 out of 5 right he gives you the credit. Definitely recommend taking the course with him!

Because of the pandemic and being out of work, I wasn't able to afford a textbook. Dr. Sathy's lectures were in depth and well-taught so I didn't need one. He is open to questions and was easy to get in touch with outside of class if I ever needed assistance. He truly cares about student success and I will for sure take his course for Chemistry 2.

Difficult subject but Dr. Sathy does his best to make it understandable, and goes over plenty of examples to follow. It is a hard subject but if you keep up with the work and practice you'll do great.

Dr Sathy posts materials in a variety of ways (his lectures, study guides, practice problems, power points, and youtube videos for each chapter) which is super helpful because there is something for everyones learning style. Dr. Sathy is very kind, caring, and respectful. I found that getting help from him in person after class or zooming him during his virtual office hours was my favorite way of going over any material I may have gotten stuck on. He always responded to my emails as well. I learned a lot.

Mr. Sathyamoorthi is a well prepared teacher. Any time I needed help with an experiment, he would take extra time out his day to help explain the procedures and purpose. He graded the experiments and data on accuracy, and if the student understood the basics of the experiment.

I took Professor Sathy for Chem 141/143 online, his class lectures were great! He provides numerous extra videos that help to prepare for homework, quizzes and tests. The only thing I would do differently is to take the class in person rather than doing it online by myself.

Dr. Sathy breaks chemistry down in an accessible way. I've taken plenty of classes where profs snap after a "dumb question," Dr. Sathy stops what he's doing to explain/reteach, and then circles back to the current topic. Highly highly highly recommend. Great prof.

Everything about Dr Sathy class is organized. his tests/quizzes is based on his labs. He is clear and does a great job at explaining the material. I took him for Chemistry lab and lecture. If it weren't for Dr. Sathy's assistance to me during his office hours, I would have not performed as well as I did in organic chemistry.

Normally I hate any lab, but Dr.Sathy made everything easy to follow. As long as you attend lab, follow procedures, and submit your lab report on time, you should be good! The are two lab test and a final. All were a bit challenging, but he makes himself available outside of class to help you prepare and understand.

Exams are short, but worth a lot of points so you really have to study. He gives a few opportunities for extra credit. He is always willing to go over an exam with you on what you missed.

Does require you to work with at least one other person for the lab. There are about 4 lab reports that are a little time consuming but not hard to do. The labs are straight forward and Dr. Sathy answers any questions you have. There are quizzes every week on the previous topic learned. Only exams are midterm and final.

I really enjoyed lab with Dr. Sathy! The labs were clear and easy to accomplish, he gave quizzes the following week that consisted of a few questions from the previous lab, and his only tests were the midterm and final, which he gives a clear study guide on. He is also quick to respond if needed and gives extra credit at the end of the semester!

Dr Sathy is a great instructor. He is very detailed in his lectures. It's important to pay attention during them as he puts heavy emphasis on similar questions that could be included in exams. Tests aren't too bad either, as he will post study guides with videos going over them before every test to help you. You can also earn extra credit.

I took Chemistry 1 lab with Dr. Sathy this spring and found his class easy to follow. Labs correlated with lecture material. Pre and Post-lab assignments were lengthy, but they prepared me for the quizzes (extra credit) at the beginning of the class and exams. There were many extra credit opportunities, and he answered any questions I had.

Dr Sathy was a really good teacher! he seemed like he really cared about my grade and gave his class lots of opportunities to do well, even if Chemistry isn't your strong suit I believe you can depend on him to help you out! I took his online summer course, as long as you take the online quizzes seriously and prepare a decent amount you'll be fine!

Dr. Sathy was a very understanding teacher, was very fast to reply to emails and was always ready to have a conversation, Gives lots of opportunities to succeed in his class so make the most of it!

I'll start off by saying if you're debating on a chemistry professor, Mr. Sath is the best! I took his Chem 141 summer course, it was hard but he really broke it down so we can understand. I commuted to the westbank just to have him as my professor. He provides extra credit, test study guides, and recorded lectures. He will not let you down! 10/10

I just completed Chemistry 141 and 143 with Dr. Sathy and he was awesome. He cares and wants to see his students succeed. He provides ample study material and offers to meet in his office or over Zoom if needed. That said, be prepared to study! He gives extra credit. I don't recommend the accelerated course if you have a life or a regular brain.

Chemistry is not easy but he makes it easier by having lectures posted and study guides and practice worksheets. It's easy to get in contact with him too.

Professor Sathy makes chemistry easier with recorded lectures, study guides, and practice worksheets. He's always willing to help and even offers extra credit. Coupled with unstuck AI, this class is manageable.

Dr. Sathy is the best instructor. He makes sure you really grasp what is being taught. There is not a moment in his lecture where you feel your time is being wasted because they are filled with information. The fact that he knows his subject makes it easier to understand for students. Not to mention, he is great at getting back to students emails!

I took CHEM 141 and 143 with Dr. Sathy. Lab consists of experiments, report sheets, and lab reports. His instructions are clear and he is willing to help when needed. He knows his subject and teaches it in the best way possible. I would definitely take again!

Dr. Sathyamoorthi is a great professor. He is easily accessible outside of class and is more than willing to help where he can. He gave study guides, practice problems, power points, and recorded lectures to make life easier. It is evident he wants all his students to learn and succeed. Put in the work and you will pass no problem.

Dr. Sathy's Organic Chemistry 1 class is lecture heavy and you should be prepared to study. Dr. Sathy ensures that there are extra credit opportunities, provides additional resources (e.g. recorded video lectures), and will work with you if you demonstrate you are putting forth your best effort!

Dr. Sathy was a wonderful professor! From the start of the class, he gave out his office hours and provided all the material you would need to take each exam. He gives homework, practice problems, and extra credit. MAKE SURE to do his homework and practice problems! Please take advantage of his office hours. He is always there to help!

Dr. Sathy made Chemistry very easy to understand. He offers PowerPoints, lecture videos, and other additional sources for each chapter to help you understand the material each week. He offers a course schedule to keep you on track of your studies, so you are well prepared for quizzes and tests. The extra credit helps boost your score tremendously

Dr. Sathy provides plenty of assignments along with an extra credit opportunity to boost your grade in his Ochem 1 lab. Make sure to come to each lab prepared! There are 2 tests and a final exam for this course so make sure you know the experiments well and getting a passing grade should be no problem!

Dr. Sathy was very helpful when I was having difficulties in the course. After meeting with him, he answered all my questions which benefited my performance. He answers his email quickly, efficiently communicates, and is very understanding. He will help you if you try your best. Overall, he was a great professor and wants his students to succeed.

Chemistry was never my best subject. This class is lecture heavy and attendance and good note taking skills is important. He lectures on exactly what is expected and what will be on tests. When I was struggling, he's always available to reach out to via zoom or by going during his office hours. Preparation and studying is necessary.

My experience with taking Dr. Sathy for Chem 141 was a good experience. The recorded lectures and practice sheets/ homework helped. This class will but what you make of it, if you come to class and go to his office he will be willing to help. Out of 4 tests we had, one was challenging for me. I made an 80 or higher on every tests besides that one.

Chemistry is a challenging subject in general. Dr. Sathy offers great study guides, helpful practice, and takes the time to review your tests to help you learn from mistakes. He values honesty, hard work, and shares useful YouTube videos for extra support. With him, hard work truly pays off!

Dr. Sathy's lab course is fun and well-structured. It aligns closely with the material covered in lecture, making it easy to follow. Clear instruction sheets and data tables are provided to print for each lab alongside helpful practice quizzes. Highly recommended!

Great professor. Very knowledgeable and wants the class to participate and learn. Breaks down concepts so they are more manageable and easy to grasp. I truly enjoyed his lectures.

6 chem profs in past, Dr. Sathy is ONLY one who's ever made chem make sense. Lectures are fantastic/presents material in way that each concept logically builds on the last. Chem is not easy, but he actually cares/wants you to learn the material. Encourages you to ask for help when needed/able to explain the info in multiple ways. Highly recommend!!

Chemistry 101 online is an okay class , Dr.Sathy is very good Professor, Tests are through Lockdown Browser and most questions were multiple choice and some were short answers . Study the Study guides and watch the lecture videos and read the powerpoints they are very helpful in terms of passing Chem 101 online. Take Him u won't be disappointed

Makes difficult material easy to understand.Will go over tests during office hours and explain everything. Has integrity, compassion, and is highly intelligent. All class expectations are given at the beginning, you just have to follow the rules/schedule, study, and do your practice problems and you'll be fine.

I took CHEM 142 with Dr. Sathy, and the course is very challenging, so be prepared to study consistently. Dr. Sathy was excellent at responding promptly to emails and was always available during his office hours. He was very supportive and approachable throughout the course, which made working through the challenging material much easier.

As much as I was dreading Chemistry, Dr Sathy made it easier to understand. It's very important to attend classes because he teaches things in a much more simplistic way compared to the textbook. He provides a few extra credit assignments because its a hard class. Honestly super nice professor and would definitely take his courses again.
