No prof will do more to help you learn. She truely cares.
Not a great teacher. Poor teaching skills compared to other teachers.
Very hard to understand, better learn by yourself!
She is hard to understand but will do anything she can to help you do well in her class. Statistics overall is a hard course, but she tries to make it a little easier in any way she can for the students.
She really helped me a ton.
She is one of the best prof. i have had at UTA. she goes out of her way to help students and even though its hard to understand her if u ask her questions after class or in her office she will happly explain u. also shes better as one on one than in the class. n make sure she knows u by face that he
deep accent alittle hard to understand.
Only helpful during Stats I, you're on your own if you delve into stats any deeper than that.
Completely unintelligible. She made a difficult subject incredibly hard. She seemed like a nice person, though.
Somewhat of an easy class but she is not that great of a teacher. You are pretty much on your own or rely on friends to help. Not the best class I have ever had.
she is great whatever u make she will push ur grade up a letter. would take her again
She is a good professor. Need to sit at the front so stake your claim early. Absolutely get the book or else no hope of getting an A. Must study hard and invest time reading and working out problems outside of class time. Hard class, definately, but she is a good prof to take.
Very helpful. Really cares about students understanding. Willing to help you out. Treats you like a "friend" or "family". My class was out of the lab and in a classroom so this made concentrating much more effective.
This class was extremely difficult but Dr. Esimai was very willing to do whatever was needed to help. I would say don't worry about buying the book. The only thing you need from it is the z- and t- charts, otherwise it's all from her notes that you can buy. Very difficult class--be ready to study. Great teacher though.
She is GREAT, the material is just hard. If you show up and try you will pass...can't say you'll get an A but you'll pass.Ans she is very helpful. Like a mom away from mom.
She has her own lecture notes that you can buy which are helpful. I find this professor to be somewhat rude and unhelpful. But, she does curve quite a bit.
I do not recommend her at all. She is a very nice person BUT she is not a good teacher. She is scattered all over & doesn't get the point across. Study guide is useless & I made an A. She curves big time but you don't want to have to rely on a professor to curve. You want to earn your grade! Not a good teacher!
Dr. Esimai always keeps us until the last minute of class time, sometimes even past that. She is hard to understand and her hand-writing is awful! The material and tests are hard! She is not very friendly either. Answers email-s with one-word answers...Do NOT recommend her!
While the course material is not interesting or very easy, there is heavy curving and a 71% can become a B at course end.
For what ever religion you practice...please pray!!!!
Very hard class but Esimai is a nice lady. She curve big time as long as u go to class and dont drop the course. I pass with a low 50. She bump it up to a C.
All i can really say is good luck in this class...the material is undeniably boring and hard at that! However, you will be smart in the end to take her...she will help you out alot because she understands that statistics is not for everybody!
Horrible teacher, has no idea how to teach which is sad because she is a doctor and apparently has been teaching for some time. very difficult to make an a but she curves at the end. I do not recommend taking her.
she is hard to understand and the material is very hard, but she is going to try her best to make you understand the material. She also jokes a few funny joke bombs in class alot. Pay attention she will call you out to answer questions but she is very very generous with the grades at the end of the semester. I'm taking her again she pushes me
Strong accent, unfriendly, does not answer emails, is rude when you ask a question. Bstat can be easy to grasp, but the way she teaches makes it difficult. All the tests and quizzes were online. I got the study guide, revised lecture notes, and coursecompass homework. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. I got a B with a curve. stressful
Don't take her if you actually want to learn. You can pass since she curves at the end. I know less about statistics now then before I took this class.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE teacher. DO NOT TAKE HER. She can't teacher. In class you use mymathlab to do homework and tests, but yet she lectures about what she knows, not what you need to know. Trust me, do not take her, you will regret it!!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID. Lectures from her notes you have to buy for $5. She has heavy Heavy accent. All HW and practice quiz/test are online, however the actual test is not related to them at ALL. You can spend 10 hours on HW and master them, but test questions are not from the online sources. You WILL NOT pass the test. There is no review. AVOID HER!!
Can't get an easy professor than her..tries to explain everything in class and pushes you up when you need it..what else do u need from a class??make 75 on tests and you will be getting out with an A coz she gives a lot of extra credit and also curves the grade at the end.
Esimai pushes her students too hard, but she curves strongly to compensate. At times she is intimidating. DON'T take it personal, realize she's trying to encourage you in her own way. That said, if you really know the material you can make A's. The notes are a must, the textbook is a must. Read the book, do the sample problems.
She has a HEAVY accent, so you can't understand her sometimes. But the lectures can be somewhat helpful b/c she gives hints on tests. But read the book. Homework is not representative of test (which are tricky) so do not rely on it. Buy her notes and study it. She also offers bonus points and curve in the end of the semester
oh lord, her class its been one of the most stressful i've had, but you definitely want to take another prof, she makes a curve at the end, and pumps up your grade about a letter grade
bstat 3321/3322, do urself a favor...take her in maymester .it lasts 4 hours a day for 2 weeks...she really helps you pass the class. my class only had 12 students...lots of individual attention, and lots of participation involved.sit in the front and really listen to her...no book needed, just her supplemental book which cost $10. big curve.
She has a really heavy accent but she is very helpful and wants you to learn the material she gives you multiple chances to ask her questions and wants you to be involved during class. I took her during a summer semester and I am glad I did.
I have never seen a curve like this. She is tough and very insulting. But I just bombed her final and basically failed the class and she gave me a B. And this is after she took off the lowest test grade. He accent is thick but understandable. Everything she says is in her handout. But i skipped class somedays just so I wouldn't be berated.
She is an intimidating woman, however do not judge her. She is a nice person that cares for her students. Don't drop the class, even if you fail all tests. She curves a lot at the end. You will hear this a lot: "Are you getting my point?" or "Can you imagine?" Except with an accent :) Overall great professor, I made an A.
Avoid taking this class with this professor at all costs. You don't learn anything. You have to teach yourself everything.Nothing is ever announced on time. Doesn't like to answer emails or questions in class. And has a UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, and MEAN attitude. avoid her.
Avoid this professor. She is not helpful, very confusing, and doesn't answer questions. If you ask a question, she makes you feel incredibly stupid. She is not clear on quiz/test days and has a very rude attitude towards her students. Would not recommend.
Hard class. She is very intelligent, which gets in the way of her teaching method. Assumes you just get it and does not explain. Curves a lot at the end, drops test and quiz grade. If you take her, it will be a self taught class. My suggestion is just read the book
awful and confusing. contradicts her own notes!
You don't need the book at all for her class, just buy her notes. Took over Summer and needed to show up everyday. It is not an easy class, but even if you fail every test you will still probably pass with a C. She gives out a lot of extra points during class and after tests.
I hated this class, she's confused and makes everything too hard to understand. I didn't understand her notes, plus she was rude when you ask her questions. she told us that she doesn't smile because she thinks it's not funny. If you can, stay away from her.
I loved her class. She gave what she called "participation quizzes" for extra credit practically every other class. She does have an accent, but she's totally understandable. She curves, throws out your lowest grades, gives practice tests, and knows the material inside and out. Buy her notes, go to class, ask questions, and you'll get an A.
It's an easy 'A' class if you attend her class everyday and follow her notes. She pretty much goes with her notes only. Do not take her if you are Math major because she does not cover a lot of stuff from textbook. She is not that friendly when you ask her any question, she expects you to know everything.
Esimai is a great professor who really cares about her students. She gives plenty of opportunities to learn and she's actually kind of entertaining during lecture. I highly recommend her if you need to take BSTAT
Hardest class I have taken!! You really have to work hard to obtain a good grade, can respond to email pretty late. If your not a good math person then be prepared to have sleepless nights. I highly recommend you to take her you will thank me later. She lectures by her notes where you have to buy. Tests are not like hw problems
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! I had a GPA of 3.6 not no more. I failed this class. Went to class everyday asked questions. Still failed. Horrible tests, horrible teacher. DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING HER!
Horrid! Always makes excuses for her inability to teach blaming it on the students. Only one person passed the first exam with an A; most failed with grades in the 30's and 40's. The participation bonus points are nice but not enough to make up for the hard exams. Has a thick accent and thinks you already know all of BSTAT so won't explain. Bad!!!
She walked out of 2 exams not informing classes where she was going, forced students to take a 40 minute test within 10 minutes remaining, forgot to teach a whole chapter the quiz was over, very thick accent, uploaded the wrong test, graded the quizzes incorrectly so students studied the wrong answers for the test, overall this class unfair hell.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! If you want to just get a C, than take her. Don't bother studying for tests, quizes because what she says is different from what she tests on. She curves so much that I went from an F to an A in one day! Haven't learned anything but don't really care since it doesn't relate to my major. My advice, find her test banks..
If she wasn't so rude, this class wouldn't be so bad. She's decent at teaching (although if you don't have a decent background in statistics, you'll struggle). However, she's so unapproachable and intimidating with how she acts. She made a girl who was using the lab to finish an assignment cry. Not recommended because of it. Grades are bad too.
Avoid. Brilliant woman. Horrible teacher. Teaches as if you're a math major. Doesn't convey complex ideas well. Falls back on complex math formulas instead, and berates students for not getting it. Expects you to see tutors for clarification. Tests have too many questions to do in allotted time, and lab comps keep freezing. Demoralizing class.
If you have to drop a test grade, give tons of extra credit, and give a huge curve at the end, it means the students aren't learning. Students routinely make below a 50 on the exams and she doesn't bat an eye, because she knows she'll curve. I made an A and I can honestly say I know no more about statistics now than when I started.
The class was hard and she wasn't too clear because of her thick accent, but she gives plenty of extra credit and curves decently. Can't say I would complain.
Please save yourself the hassle of taking this woman. She is incredibly unclear of her expectations and also requires you to BUY her notes from a seperate printing store. Be prepared to teach yourself statistics! Avoid if possible!!!!!!
If you only need this class to get BSTAT out of the way and are not majoring in OPMA, than take her because you will not fail even if you get 0's in everything. Show up, post a little effort, ask questions, you will get a B. I put no effort but since she knew me by name, I got a B.
Out of the 100 or so teachers I have had in my lifetime, she was the worst. And I am not overestimating. if you are interested in learning stats DO NOT take her. She curves a lot, but what's the point if you don't actually learn anything? She often insults classmates that speak up, and is very intimidating to talk to. Please spare yourself.
WORST professor I have ever taken. Notes come from some shady store down the street from campus that won't even help you learn the material& dont bother asking questions she will just make you feel stupid. Learned nothing in class&all my other classmates feel the same way. Always says she'll give points to ppl who answers Q's in class but forgets
Good afternoon class! I recommend for an easy A will be, take statistic at a community college. It will make this class look like a review. Shes difficult to understand. Do not sit at the back. Ask for questions and help. The ones that say she never help are the ones that never attend class or will sit at the back and text all day. We are a family.
BSTAT is already a tough subject, Dr. Esimai just made it harder! Good intentions and wants for all to succeed but her teaching is horrible. A LOT of group activities and tests are HARD! Very RUDE which makes you NOT want to speak up in class or ask questions. However, she curves a lot which is the ONLY plus about her class. It saved me big times!
Dr. Esimai should have just stayed retired. When she asks questions she mentions "If I graded participation you would get point for answer" she does this 5+ times a class. But she doesn't grade that way, so why mention it? Forces you to buy connect, even though she can't use it. She runs her class like junior high. Lazy, stubborn, professor.
worst professor ever but a lot of extra credit
Great professor, easily the best math one Ive had. Took the time to break down every subject, and was patient when students had questions. Gave homework that actually helped students, and most of not all had extra credit points. Tests were challenging but easy if you took the time to study and did the homework.
Great professor, works with and really cares about her students.
She is wonderful
bstat is very hard but Dr. Esimai cares about students, encourages to ask questions. Quiz before a test helps to prepare, some questions repeat, tests are hard but not impossible if you study the book and do HW. Lots of extra credit as HW. Attendance is not mandatory. She really tries her best to make sure students pass
I've dreaded taking statistics for so long. But in asking around, I heard that Dr. Esimai was teaching this class. It's a good class to take. Dr. Esimai knows her stuff and takes time to explain concepts. She's also good at working with students to make sure they understand and do well. HWs/quizzes actually help for the exam. Glad I took her!
Everyone been saying bstat is hard but I dont think so. Its easier than fina 3313 honestly. She give a few hw assignments, quizzes before exam to help you know what you need to work on & exams are based on hw problems, quizzes & textbook def. gives a front & back formula sheet for quiz & exam. Give extra bonus points for answeing questions.
She is a nice teacher. Teaching seriously, and respect the students. Having tests and group report. Encourage students to learn .
Dr. Esimai has an incredible ability to lecture in detail and to create an environment where students can ask questions and be given feedback so that the class as a whole advances their learning. Dr. Esimai gives students the opportunity to raise their grade with extra credit but only if they work for it. They get better grades and more knowledge.
Enlightened
This is my professor of BSTAT . She will retire after teaching our class. I got A + in this course. Thanks to her, I know what is a positive attitude towards life. I will miss her all the time and miss her pet phrase.
She was very caring and truly wanted us to learn. She would go over examples many times and make sure we understood what she was trying to teach. It was still pretty heavy on HW (but also tons of Extra Cred), but overall it still wasn't too terrible. I recommend her, even though it can be rough some days, she is still the best choice.
She expects you to work hard throughout the semester, and wants you to earn your grade. But definitely gives fair grades at the end of the semester. The homework can be tedious but a lot of it was offered for extra credit. Attendance and participation isnt mandatory but offers extra credit.
TAKE HER! She is probably the best professor I've had! 40 points extra credit, 2 tests, 2 quizzes, 6 HW, but most of the extra credit came from HW. She truly cares about her students, don't pay attention to the negative reviews, if you put in effort you will get an A! She did all that she could for us to pass, I am not Stats major but I loved her!
I loved Dr. Esimai's bstat class. The topic is tricky but she provides ample resources and feedback. She encourages everyone to ask and answer questions which makes the classroom very interactive and takes participation for extra credit. She loves extra credit and finds different ways to give it out throughout the semester.
Took this class on the summer 1, classes are very clear. She truly cares about students and she will make you earn your grade. Extra credit is offered and most of it through HW. Definitely would take another class with her. Just be prepared to do HW, participate in class and usual things that are expected from us students. Nothing extraordinary.
Highly recommend. She expects you to put some effort in to earn your grade but nothing unreasonable. She genuinely wants to help everyone learn and gives out a crazy amount of extra credit to boost grades. Breaks each topic down step by step which allows you to put meaning/differentiate between formulas which is great because there's quite a few.
She is a knowledgeable instructor. She expects participation of students and ask questions. Very passionate about teaching, but you need to put effort to be able to pass the class. Extra credit helps a lot.
It seems like there's a lot of poor older reviews. I think she is changing the way she teaches, she is very driven and passionate about the material, which she expects you to take some effort in, yet she is also very empathetic when it comes to grades and stress. Yes, you will have to do some work outside of class, but Dr Esimai makes it easier.
Its not an easy class but she gives enough extra credit to help students make a good grade. Show up to class, participate, do the extra credit home work and you will do well in the class.
She is an extremely qualified (probably even over-qualified) professor with many accolades and achievements in her field. The point is she knows the material inside and out. But the thing that sets her apart is that she really cares if her students understand the material, whereas most professors are indifferent. Also lots of extra credit.
Professor Esimai is a great instructor for this course. She genuinely wants her students to learn and understand the material. She gives some homework and lots of extra credit. The hw/extra credit get you prepared for the test.
Take anybody else. Class lectures are pretty much useless because she works so quickly and gets off topic so often that you just end up teaching yourself after class anyway. Really tough to follow. Homework given at random times during the week (not class days) and only a day or so given to complete, tough for students who work.
This was my first ever Stats class and she made it super easy and enjoyable! There were 5 hw (20%), 2 quizzes (20%), 2 tests (40%), and the final (20%). Very good at explaining and is open to questions all the time. So long as you show up, take notes, and ask questions when confused, you should do well! Plus she gives like 60 points extra credit.
If you want to survive BSTAT, take her. Knows her stuff and also gives enough extra credit to help you if you put in the effort. One of the best professors at UTA for this course
The course is your typical business course where it only mattered if you were a statistic major and she tends to teach in the conceptual way of the matter rather than showing examples, so when it came to exams majority of the class failed the quizzes and exams. Also she has no real reviews to study so good luck teaching yourself.
Mrs. Esimai is very passive aggresive- BUT when she is nice, she gives the class extra credit, although try to get the whole class to engage, and she'll like you as a whole. We got 60 extra credit pts spread out to HW, Quizzes, and Test (do ALL your extra credit). The class avg was bad for Test 2 and Finals (hard) but extra credit is applied there
Statistics is hard! but she gives a lot of Extra Credits. Read the text and ask questions. Participate in class.
The class is pretty straight forward. Go to class and keep up with the work and you will be fine. She gives tons of extra credit which not only helps your grade but also becomes a good aide to help prepare for tests. Its BSTAT so its going to require effort, but if you study and go to class you should have no problem making a good grade.
Professor Esimai is a very caring and down to earth professor that wants you to pass her class. BSTAT is a very tough course but she tries her best to help you out in the end. She offers a tremendous amount of extra credit and make sure you do it because you will need it.
Miss Esmai is very passionate and knowlegeable about the subjects. If you really want to learn just take her. She wants everyone of her students to learn.
Worst professor you can take for this course. Very disorganized and does whatever she likes, whenever she likes. Only choose her if she's the only option
This professor is horrible and it's a surprise she is still employed to teach at UTA. Homeworks are posted at random times and she's very random with how the whole class is constructed. Only plus is extra credits but she is unbearable
BSTAT is a hard course already to be teaching your self. With grace esimai, you will be teaching yourself and goodluck on her weird exams which more than half of the class usually fails. 3 exams and 5 home works with 2 quizes
Have to admit I was warned not to take this awful professor and I didn't listen. Total waste of expensive tuition money. You learn nothing and she is very condescending with students. Her exams, especially the finals, were made for you to fail
Most of the students in our class were probably shocked this professor is still teaching. Three exams, two quizes and lots of extra credit but be ready for unpredictable HW and grade decisions from her. Would never take her again
BSTAT is a challenging course and Prof. Esimai does not make it any easier. She gives you class notes at the beginning, but she will confuse you during the actual lectures and then speak to you as if you are stupid. Quizzes had 40% avg, Exams avg 60%-70%. Extremely condescending. Syllabus is not accurate. Homework assigned without notice. AVOID!!!!
Treats her class like you're still in middle school and often talks down on students. Clearly doesn't make her own exams, so they are *extremely* difficult than what she 'teaches' in class. Only reason she gives so much extra credit is because of how awful a professor she actually is. Take someone else!
An absolute embarrassment of a 'professor'. One of the worst I have taken at UTA. Choose her at your own risk
If you'd like to waste your money and time, take this professor. You will come out of the class having learned nothing and even if you're in it to get a good grade, that's a 50/50 scenario because the way she sets up her class, you could fail very easily.
very random, doesn't help but will show to be helpful, heavy tests, doesn't try to understand you. hopefully, I don't have to take her again.
If you already know how to do statistics then your probably will do fine. But if you are like me and never had statistics and struggle in Math then take another professor. Just cause a professor cares about the students and gives extra credit doesn't make them good a explaining content.
She seems really passionate about the subject, but she kind of expects people to pick it up like her. Material is very dense and confusing, doesnt seem that willing to help outside of classroom.
She is a passionate professor. I do not understand lots of students rate her such bad. I guess that they did not study enough. Concentrate on her lecture, you will be definitely fine.
She randomly gives out extra credits in class but no curves on exam. The test just nowhere related to the exams. Friendly but aggressive. Wont take here again.
If you take Esimai, I recommend to go to class, pay attention, and participate because she will give you extra points. Her class was based of 10 homeworks, 2 quizzes, and two exams plus the final. She did not have a set schedule of deadlines, always posting/announcing dates at the last minute. Not a bad option for BSTAT, but also not the best.
You will read some reviews that states she is passionate about teaching and cares for students but those things don't make you a good teacher, they just make you a good human being. She does give test curves and extra credit. I studied and went to tutoring and I still could not pass the exams. But the tutors were able to explain better than her.
Grace has good intentions overall but I don't think she presents information effectively. She comes off as passive-aggressive, has poor handwriting, will not answer questions clearly. The class is a waste of money as most of my peers have learned the material independently.
She is a great person, but I can affirm the other comments here that her teaching is horrible. I had a hard time grasping her contents and had to rely on outside sources to make a clear concept of the materials she taught in the class. But, if you want to learn, do not take her.
Worst professor i have ever had constantly refers to the prerequisite class expecting you to have taken and know the material 3 test. Two test and there of 6 plus chapters. She writes her lectures on a mouse when she has no business trying to handwrite using a mouse . Very illegible handwriting . Does not explain well at all. Do not take Do not.
Dr. Esimai is the type of professor any college student wants to avoid. She knows her stuff, but does not teach it properly at all. She can never answer questions clearly and just refers you to the TA tutor. Has horrible hand writing and gets angry at the class for doing bad on the exams. Do not take her if you have other options.
Could be cause of covid but this is one of my easiest class. You genuinely have to try to not pass because its so easy. She gives you everything to study! At times she may change some numbers but the majority looks the same. ATTEND CLASS because she gives out pop quizzes. Those who gave a neg review this semester did not study or try lol
Grades test and quizzes with incorrect answers. The class average on the final was a 44 and she blames the students not one person made an a the highest grade on the final was 80 which was an outlier. I failed this course because she is the worst professor I have ever had. Taking her class is like living under a dictatorship.
she means well but didn't learn much from the lectures and learned it by myself. She offers extra credit and two opportunities on the homework assignments. She's not the best at teaching but it seems she genuinely tries. She communicated with us frequently and responded to emails (eventually). STUDY FOR THE EXAMS
I got an A in every course but this one this semester. She has a great heart and is very kind, but it's difficult to understand her. In-person might be better with her. The worst part is that all hw is through mcgraw hill, & textbook doesn't teach half of it. I'm good with math, but this course was literally impossible.
I would recommend against taking this class if possible. The material is very hard and you will be teaching a lot of the material to yourself. A lot of the class lectures are mostly conceptual rather than actual problem solving. Most of the exams are problem solving. She is a nice person but can be a little passive aggressive at times.
Very nice professor. Must complete readings and do homework assignments. Few questions but may be a little challenging. We had two exams with a final. She curved all. Complete your HW, as it is 20% of your grade! Her lectures are hard to understand but she does her best and always asks for feedback.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This is the one and only review I will ever write for a professor. Esimai is probably a nice person outside of class, but I don't care how nice someone is if they cannot teach. You will not learn, as she is unable to convey information properly and scribbles all notes on a notepad. There is too much to say to fit here.
Do NOT take her!!! She can barely explain things correctly and scribbles on a notepad. We cant even understand what she is writing!!!
Will belittle students all day before taking responsibility. Lecture notes are written with a computer mouse. Literally everyone is the groupchat has agreed it's best to teach ourselves. The accent isn't her fault, but it's very thick and hard to understand at times. I challenged her on cutting our test time short and she just went after my tone.
Professor Esimai is sadly the only professor that teachest BSTAT, she talks down to her students and treats them as if they're stupid for not understanding a subject that is already difficult enough on its own. Goes on extreme tangents that have nothing to do with the class, if there's an alternative math class you can do I'd advice taking that
This professor didnt seem to understand the stress of students. She was very rude to those who asked questions and often times brushed off our concerns. A pro would be that the quizzes and tests were similar. However, the classes constantly had failing averages in both and we all were severely stressed. I dont recommend her at all.
I'm trying to be understanding in the fact that this was an online class and it was difficult for students and staff, but she does NOT care about her students. Get ready to look up YouTube videos because she was pretty condescending when it came to students asking questions about the material. She does curve some exams because we all failed them :)
I'd recommend her if you've taken Stats before that way you have an idea about what's going on. She's not bad but you do have to study and prepare for exams or quizzes. She'll answer your questions and help you understand.
Don't do it unless you already know stats. Quizzes every other class and questions aren't welcomed.
SHE LOVES BELITTLE'ING STUDENTS! BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM HER CLASS! Pay for her course and u'll end up going on Youtube on how to pass your Statistics class. THIS CLASS WAS SUCH A HEADACHE! Barely answers emails, loves to put the blame on YOUUUUUUU for not studying while SHE is the main problem. I can't stress this enough. STEER CLEAR OF HER!
This pandemic wasn't the worst thing that happened to us, HER TEACHING WAS.
A lot of studying for this class because the lectures won't help.
What's sad is up until the final and last test I was coasting with a High A in this class, tests are ridiculously hard for no reason. Professor barely explains the subject material well enough for my class understand, be ready to invest in Chegg and spend hours on YouTube trying to understand a difficult subject causer this professor can not teach
She was ok, make sure you do all of your HMWK as it could bite you at the end. Online was ok, you need to make sure to study. Its mandatorish attendance as there a couple of time where she'll have p-quizzes. Some will say she is the worst but I think its a matter of luck if she likes your class as a whole bc if not she is almost intolerable.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS. She spends most of class time complaining about how we fail her midterms. Hardly answers emails when you email her. Threatens to take away extra credit or bonus points from grade when you ask questions about your grade. She said she would give us bonus points for course evaluation and never put them in.
1 of the worst prof's I have had. Couldn't deal w interruptions the 1st month of class, lecture notes were drawn with a mouse, would pretty much insult us for not getting the right answers on her tests which would need 30pt curves. Promised xtra points for course evals but have yet to see them. threatened to remove pts for emailing her about grades
Very rude and unnecessarily cruel, very passive aggressive both in class and through emails. Hates it when students question her about wrong grades or if the answers to her problems are wrong. Will belittle you and degrade you in class in front of everyone, and refuses to answer emails. Save your money take a different professor. She's terrible!!
Most condescending, disrespectful, ineffective prof ever. Test have incorrect answer and are worded poorly so students misinterpret. she is forced to curve test Bc student avrge grades are in the 40s. Doesnt explain concepts & shows zero steps on how to actually solve. you will have to teach yourself. I only passed Bc i took bstat3321 already.
Lots of people have already gone into detail, but she is just not very good. Maybe it's the online setup that does not work for her. But this was one of the most unorganized and confusing class experiences I have ever had.
Tests considered of 30 multiple choice problems that you have to complete in 45 minutes. Most students ran out of time halfway through the test and had to guess on the last 7 to 10 questions. 45 minutes for a math test is ridiculous. Not only that, but she has to curve the tests by about 30 to 40 points because of how badly students did.
Accent hard to understand. class thru Canvas conferences & be sure to have microphone on to answer questions b/c it requires participation extra credit!! 2 quizzes, 5 homework thru McGraw hill connect & final in 2 week course. Homework easy, chegg helps a lot. Lockdown browser required and all multiple choice. Know how to solve or choose wisely
It wasn't difficult test/homework wise if you paid attention. Her lectures were the worst part. took the 2 week crash course so it was a lot jam packed, however she did the best she could offering A LOT of extra credit thru participation & professor evaluation. textbook was required but was free bc 2 week course and 2 week free trial period
Beware. She's condescending, complains too much, and has no hope in her students. Class averages for exams were always failing grades. She has surprise pop quizzes in class. There's a lot of extra credit, but don't get your hopes up, that doesn't mean you'll get an A.
Awful professor, she's condescending and straight up rude. She'll degrade you if you're confused and ask questions and then gets mad if people stay quiet because they don't feel comfortable asking her anything. Every exam class average was in the forties and she had to curve it so much so that people actually based for the semester. AVOID HER!!!
Her class really made me want to jump off a bridge. The class was unnecessarily hard, lectures were poorly done, very unhelpful. She is rude to her students, gets mad if you ask questions. Just opening the teams meeting made my GPA suffer.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR TO TAKE IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MATH. youll have to teach yourself. she cant teach and has THE WORST handwriting so you wont learn how to solve. Download chegg for homework. DONT ask for a higher grade in the class. She gets mad & will threaten to take off extra points that you earned throughout semester off of your final grade
She was extremely condescending and uncaring. Her lectures were hard to fallow and the reason I passed her was because I signed up for tutoring session. I didnt learn anything from her directly. However, her practice quizzes and test are exactly like the real thing. I dont recommend her as a professor but the class is not that difficult.
I had this professor in the fall and Im still salty about how she handled the final exam and final grades. Study material is limited due to her lectures not being too useful so the average grade on the final was 45. She then sent an email to the class saying she would ignore and dock points if anyone emailed her about improving their grade.
She’s very difficult to learn from, its one of those teachers who talk but don’t really explain themselves well at all. She’s a kind person, but not good at teaching…
She cares about students, if you do what you suppose (homework, extra credit, and exams) to you will get an A
Her lectures are poor. She said to ask questions and you wont be judged for it, then 5 minutes later someone asked and she was rude saying if they were listening they would know. Bad review for the final as she didnt open the past reviews. She was unclear in grading for extra credit I asked why I got deductions and she ignored my emails.
She gives power points and her own notes. Answer emails in 24hrs, as long as the class number is included. Great reviews for the exams. Note: Attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend you to assist; Otherwise, you will be lost in her class and in the extra credit steps. Go to the reviews more than once, and you will do great on tests.
Professor Grace is an excellent teacher. She genuinely cares about us, but she does not let you run the race until you are ready. Sometimes, she gives us an extra credit opportunity. Despite not showing favoritism, she treats each of us equally and is determined to see us succeed.
She drops lower quiz and test. Gives tons of extra credit and a final curve at the end of the class. If you go to the lectures and complete all the assignments and do the extra credit, it's no way you can do bad in the class.
Probably the worst professor I've had so far. Talks like she's having a conversation with herself & doesn't explain concepts very well, if at all. Only reason I got an A is because she dropped our lowest quiz & test score (you get 2 quizzes & 2 tests + the final) got 10/10 points for all homework, and did all extra credit she offered.
I asked her multiple times to give us examples and real uses for her class, and she said she would in private. However In class she would refuse to do anything other than teach from the book. She was inaccessible to her students, and required you to speak to the TA for her to "vet" your issue and see if it was "worth her time".
